Description

The DeMarini Voodoo has become the bat of choice for thousands of players all over the country. This year's Voodoo is perhaps the best yet. With a hybrid design featuring an X10 Alloy barrel joined with a TR3 F.L.O. Composite handle, DeMarini has created a baseball bat that is beyond good. DeMarini's brand new alloy, X10, is designed with a proprietary blend of alloy agents that when put together create a barrel with optimal strength. This unique strength allows for finely tuned barrel walls to create the ultimate sweet spot, no matter what regulations may exist. The TR3 F.L.O. Composite handle further enhances the Voodoo's strength, while creating a lighter swing weight than ever before. DeMarini's Half and Half two-piece technology makes YOU stronger by silencing feedback on off-center hits and creating the largest, most responsive sweetspot by flexing before impact and recoiling with a burst of ball-launching energy! The Voodoo's exclusive Ion V End Cap has two layers. One to keep the barrel stiff, while the other transfers energy from barrel to ball with pure over-the-fence power. Constructed with an ever-so-slight endload, the Voodoo feels like you've harnessed the power of a thousand black suns to sacrifice the soul of the fastball. DeMarini: Born Hardcore! The Voodoo features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp and is approved for play. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Outstanding bat, we've got the 30/21 for an 11 year old. Was worried that it may be to heavy for him. Man was I wrong, he hit three home runs in two games last night. Followed by one all the way to the center field fence. Funny thing is when he came to the dug out he looked at me and said, Coach I didnt even try to hit hard.

Cons: During the games I had him lay down a bunt. Not real impressed with it due to the amount of pop the bat has. My son soft bunted down third base side and ball went almost all the way to third.

American Made

Pros: I used to think some of the reviews on this bat were exagerated until my 11 yr old son used a 30in 21oz VooDoo in his tournament. His first at bat a triple over the right fielders head. His second at bat another triple lined between left and center field. His third at bat he doubled down the right field line. His last at bat he singled btween short and third. His cousin that was watching told me his second triple was the hardest hit ball of the game. His next game of the tournament he went 3 for four with a double. He was borrowing the bat from a teammate but I have since gone out and bought him his own....Something to be said for an American Made Bat!!!

Cons: Everyone is gonna to want to use it.

GK

Pros: Let me start by saying that I have spent a lot of money on bats over the last couple seasons. I have purchased the Combat B3 -12, 2012 CF5 -10, 2011 Easton Omen -10, 2011 Easton Rival -10, and other bats in the mid price range. This bat has the most pop out of the wrapper I have seen by far, even over the composite models after "break-in". I have no stories of monster homeruns, as we have only done cage work with it so far. But the difference is noticeable. My son is a good size 11 year old, about 5'6" and 130lbs. We purchased the 31" 22oz, if you are a parent trying to decide on how to spend your hard earned money on a bat I certainly would suggest this bat, but consider giving up an inch in length for a little lighter bat. It swings a little heavier than a balanced 22 oz bat due to the end load. My son has adjusted well to the weight and has a lot of confidence with this bat. I hope this review has helped anyone that is like me and has a hard time believing reviews.

Cons: None at all.

Pros: Nice graphics

Cons: My son used it at practice for the first time today. Perhaps he's not comparing "apples to apples" as he's used composite bats for a while. He notes this bat does not compare to balls hit off of his previous DeMarini CF4, Easton Speed or current Louisville Slugger Triton. Does not feel it has the same amount of pop as his composite bats.

Pros: I have been around baseball for 5 yrs coaching and hitting all makes and brands and have yet to find a better bat period. This bat is insanely balanced w/slight end load. Son hit one 40ft over left fielders head this weekend, though you have to be a realist as technique is part of the equasion. Do not waste your money on CF5, bat is a joke, no pop or sweet spot!!! Traded in for VooDoo after 3 months hoping CF5 would improve. I would also recommend Combat's as a lighter alternative. Could not be happier.

Cons: Changed grip to Combat.......Best Grip Period!!

Pros: This is a high quality bat. My 12U son has the 31" 22 oz. and it fits him like a glove. It's end-load, balance, and dimensions are perfect, allowing the barrel to whip through the zone better than more middle-balanced models he's used in the past.

Cons: Although, it doesn't affect performance, my son wishes that a lot of the paint didn't chip off after just over 2 months of use.

Stinging hands!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blaine parent

Pros: Good pop

Cons: We just purchased the bat from JustBats and was very excited to use it. My son is 11 and his first day of using it was not what we expected. The ball jumped off the bat well but it stung his hands and he was too cautious to hit the ball hard. Thanks to Justbats and they exchanged the bat for an Easton. This is the 2nd DeMarini we have purchased within the last 4 years and the last one was a Vexxum and it stung just the same. I am not happy with their products so far. I read the reviews prior to purchasing and there were not many complaints about stinging. I have had great luck with Easton so we will stick with them. We will not be purchasing DeMarini's again.

Amazing BAT Ronnie coach

Pros: 12 yr old 5' 85lbs.. Strong above average ball player. Had a LSlugger TPX years ago and delivered 12 home runs one season then bat cracked. I have purchased three additional composit bats, all Easton Bats. Hasn't hit but two home runs since. Bought the 2013 31"/22oz -9 Demarini VooDoo bat. Straight out of the wrapper he hit 33 baseballs to the fence on a 225 field. This bat is explosive... Will turn an above average base hitter into a home run hitter! I had to share my testimony with every dad researching this bat. A MUST HAVE FOR ANY SERIOUS BALL PLAYER.... I am a parent and coach...

Cons: Don't have any at the moment. I hope the durability is as good as it is straight off the rack.

Pros: My son switched from the 2013 Easton S1 series to this bat because he didn't feel he was getting enough pop off of the Easton. That all changed with the Voodoo. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is slightly end loaded.
Kara
Can you use this bat in Babe Ruth league? Jackson

Is a 31 inch 22 oz the right size for a 12 year old? cluelessLewis23
A lot depends on his height, his weight, his strength, and what size bat he is currently using. I recommend giving our Bat Coach a try: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tyler

The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is slightly end loaded.
Kara
Would the 30in 21oz be good for a 13 year old who's height is 4ft 5in and weight is 85 pounds? Android21

Tyler
I'm 12 years old I swing a 30/20 its too light. Should I move up to a 30/21? I used my friend's 30/21 and I started to bomb it. RawlingsMan13
If you had success with the 30" 21oz., then I would continue to use that.
Zach
I swing a 30/20 Easton surge and I'm starting to get ahead of the ball. Would the 31/22 dimarini voodoo be a good bat for me? Reed
The 2013 Demarini Voodoo is a end weighted bat that may help you a bit with your timing. Also an end weighted bat like the DXVDR will give you some extra pop on contact.
Shelbe
I've never used a BBCOR bat. Would you recommend just go straight to it or in Pony continue using the youth bats? tommy
This really depends on your age, height, and weight. If you need to make the transition to a BBCOR bat within a year, we would recommend using a -5 to get use to the heavier bats. If you have a few years, we would recommend the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo -9.
Kara

(1) Yes. If big barrel bats are allowed at that level of play, 2 5/8 are acceptable (2) The Easton S3 is a one piece composite bat, whereas the DeMarini Voodoo is a two piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel.
Damon
Im about 5 foot 4 inches and 114 lbs. should i use a 31 inch or a 32 inch bat? namenick
I would recommend a 31" bat based on your size.
Nick D
Is this a big barrell if it is i want a 30in? nick
Yes. All "Senior League" bats have big barrels. All available sizes are in stock and ready to ship.
Tyler
I'm about 5 foot 6 inches and 117 lbs. Should i use a 31 or 32? Rylan
Our Bat Coach program suggests a 31 in. bat for your particular height and weight. If you are strong enough, you could move up to a 32 in. bat. The link to our Bat Coach is http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Nick K.
How does this bat compare to the DeMarini CF5? Reed
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR is a two-piece hybrid design (composite handle/aluminum barrel) and the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFR is a two-piece fully composite bat. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
I just turned 13 yrs old and is 5'2 and weight 135lbs. Would you recommend the 32" 23oz? HBedoya
Based on your height and weight, our Bat Coach program suggests a 31" bat. If you feel like you are strong enough to swing a 32", then it will work as well. The link to our Bat Coach is http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Nick K.
Will this bat have more pop than the CF5? Reed
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is going to be very comparable in performance to the DeMarini CF5.
Nick K.
I am 12, 5'3 and 142 lbs. Would a 32" 23oz be good for me? T
The suggested length for a player your size would be a 31" or 32" inch bat, so this 32" 23oz. 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR would be a good fit for you.
Tom
Does this bat feel lighter than -9? Reed
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo will actually feel slightly end loaded.
Kara
I am 12 years old. I weigh 150lbs. What size should I get? section25
Without knowing your height, I would recommend a 31" or 32" bat. You can also check out our Bat Coach on our website if you need help figuring out what size bat to get.
Nick D
im 12. im 4 foot 10 and 75ibs. is this a good bat for me in 30 21. is this better than the xl1. and could it get me my first homer me
A 30" 21oz model is the correct size for you. Both the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR and the Easton XL1 would be good choices if you want to get your first homer, because they are endloaded and set up for power. The main difference between these two bats is that the XL1 is all composite and 1oz heavier.
Nick D
what is the best bat for a kid who wants to hit for more power me
Endloaded bats are the best option if you are looking for a boost in power, as long as the player can maintain his bat speed and control while using the heavier bat. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR and any of the Easton XL series bats will offer an endload.
Nick D
i am 12 years old and i am going in to juniors. I wanted a demarini voodo 2012 or 2013 version but dont know wich one is better and i am more of a contact hitter than power. please help me best buy
The Voodoo is definitely a great bat. The 2013 model will feel just a little more endloaded compared to the 2012 Voodoo. Because of this, the 2012 model would be better suited for a contact hitter. A stronger hitter with high swing speeds would probably be better suited with the 2013 Voodoo.
Tyler
Does the yellow balls hurt the demarini 2013 voodoo bat? asked by cody
Yellow dimpled pitching machine balls are very dense and can cause damage to any bat. It is only recommend to use regular baseballs during batting practice or cage work.
Tyler
Is this bat BBCOR, becasue I am in a league were it has to be BBCOR? voodoo
No. The DeMarini Voodoo DXVDR is a Senior League bat. BBCOR models must be a drop 3. You are looking for the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult.
Damon
I have read some reviews and some said that the paint chips easily. I know eventually the paint will chip but with the graphics would a lot of paint come off and how can you prevent it. ryan
All bats, including the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo, will show wear and tear over time. The Voodoo is a durable bat and will continue to provide high performance even after a few chips.
Derek H.
Would the DeMarini 2013 Voodoo have more pop than the Easton XL2? demarini expert
Both the DeMarini Voodoo and the Easton XL2 use some of the highest performing alloy in the market, so the pop would be comparable. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
Hey I'm 11 in the middle of summer ball. I'm already a good hitter for both contact and power but should I get the senior -9 or get the -3 for when I'm 13 in Babe Ruth? solo
The -9 DeMarini Voodoo would be a better fit for you currently, but you will be forced to use the -3 BBCOR models once you get into high school.
Tom
I'm 12 years old and I'm getting a new bat. I don't know which to choose Vexxum or Voodoo. I want a drop 5 and I'm a power hitter. My height is 4 feet 10 inches. beastbballer19
Both the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo and 2013 Vexxum are two -piece bats that are slightly end loaded, perfect for a power hitter. The major difference is the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum has more flex than the 2013 Voodoo.
Kara
Would this bat be legal to use in 2013 for the babe ruth league? batter
Yes. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo will be legal for Babe Ruth League.
Damon
Is this the best alloy bat on the market? nate
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is one of the best two-piece bats with an alloy barrel and composite handle. It has great pop and durability.
Kara
I'm a contact hitter and 12 years old. I'm 5'3" and 113 pounds. What bat and size would you suggest for me? me
Based on your height and weight, I would suggest a 31" 21 oz. bat. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo would be an excellent choice. The Voodoo is a very high performing bat with a ton of pop.
Nick
Features USSSA 1.15 Stamp; Legal for Use in 2012 Is it legal for USSSA 2013? Starlin
Yes. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League bat will be legal in USSSA in 2012, 2013 and beyond.
Tyler
If CF5 composite has more pop why would a power hitter choose voodoo even if end loaded? More pop is more pop. Spartacus
Power hitters tend to prefer bats that are more end loaded. Even with the different materials, an end loaded bat will have more mass behind the ball at contact resulting in the ball going farther. That is why most big league power hitter swing bats that are end loaded.
Tom
When will you stock more 31 inch models? danny
We are scheduled to receive more inventory the first week of September 2012.
Kara
Which bat has a bigger barrel this one or the xl2 senior league bat? nate the great
Both the Easton XL2: SL11X28 and 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR have 2 5/8" barrels.
Tyler
Is this bat better than the TPX Omaha SL126XL Senior League and which bat has a longer barrel? pk
Both are excellent bats with great pop. However, the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is end loaded, better for a player with some power. It has a slightly longer barrel.
Kara
My son hits a 2012 Senior league Voodoo 29/20. He is 11 years old, 5 ft. 115 lbs. I am looking to get him a new 2013 DeMarini. Would he be better off with the Senior League CF5 or Voodoo and if so what size? LM
The type of bat really depends on the type of hitter your son is. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is slightly end loaded, better suited for a player with some power. The 2013 CF5 is more balanced, better for a player who needs to increase their bat speed. We recommend a 30" bat.
Kara
I'm 11 yes old, 4'10" 77 lbs. Have used a Worth SLP102 28/18, and interested in switching to the 2013 DeMarini VooDoo. I'm a contact hitter, with gap power. How do the bats compare and what size is recommended? 1B6
The Worth SLP102 is a one-piece alloy bat. The Voodoo is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. A 29" 20 oz. bat would be recommended.
Tyler
Is the 1.15 bpf a sticker or laser engraved? Love Demarini but two prior bats had sticker wear off easily (barred from using one by an ump because sticker smeared) and don't want to drop $300 if a sticker only. Thanks. Paulr708
All 2013 DeMarini bats have a permanent stamp that will not rub off.
Tyler
What is the difference between the 2013 Voodoo & the 2013 Vexxum & which one would you recommend for 11U travel team? pk
Both the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League bat and the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League bat will both be Two-Piece Hybrid models. They will both be constructed of X10 Alloy on the barrel and have the C6 Composite for the handle. Both bats will have the 2 5/8" barrel diameters. The only difference you will see will be that the Voodoo will feel more barrel heavy-End Loaded. The Vexxum will be more of a truly balanced model. Either version will be a great choice for your 11U travel team.
Brandon
Which bat is better the DeMarini Voodoo or the Easton S1? joker
Both are good bats. The Easton S1 will have more pop because of the composite barrel, whereas the DeMarini Voodoo has an alloy barrel. The S1 will be more balanced and the Voodoo will be more end loaded.
Damon
Does this bat have the most pop and do you have to break in or what? joey
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League bat will have a lot of pop. It will be a Two-Piece Hybrid design with an Alloy barrel and Composite handle. It will feel slightly end loaded. This bat will not require any break-in period. It will be the hottest right out of the wrapper.
Brandon
What is the very best bat by demarini? I am willing to spend up to 450 on it. David
The highest performing bat made by DeMarini is the CF5.
Zach
Can't decide between 2013 EXO Senior League and the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo Senior League. Can you give me any suggestions? "D"
Both the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League and the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX EXOGRID 3: SL13EX Senior League will be Two-Piece Hybrid Designs, with -9 sizing, and 2 5/8" barrel diameters. The Voodoo will feature an X10 Alloy Barrel and a TR3 F.L.O. Composite Handle. It will have a slight End Load, that power hitters seem to love. The EXOGRID 3 will have a AC21 Scandium Alloy Barrel with LS-2X Composite Inserts in the Handle. It will provide a Lower M.O.I. for a Lighter Swing Weight and a more truly Balanced Feel. Both bats will come with 12 month warranties through their manufacturers. If you like an End Load go with the Voodoo, if you like a more balanced feel go with the EXOGRID 3.
Brandon
I am considering either -5 or -9 31" Voodoo. Do the barrels have the same LENGTH? I saw different length between -5 and -9? VooVoo
Yes, both models: 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League and the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVD5 Senior League bats should have the same barrel length. Both bats will have 2 5/8" barrel diameters as well. Both will be created with the Two-Piece Half and Half Technology. The all X10 Alloy barrel and TR3 FLO Composite handle. Both bats will have a slight End Load. Both bats will come with a Full 12 month warranty through DeMarini.
Brandon
Is this bat legal for Juniors and Pony? My son had a Voodoo -9 and it wasn't allowed under the one pony league rules, only -5 were allowed it was first tourny it wasn't allowed in. Joe
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR is legal in Juniors division of Little League. According to Pony's website there are no restrictions regarding the drop of the bat. Please refer to Pony's website www.pony.org/2012 Baseball Rule Book, pg 1.
Kara
Which one has a longer barrel, The XL2 or the Voodoo? tres
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League bat and the 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League bat will have the same barrel lengths. Also, both will have a slightly barrel heavy, end-loaded feel in swing weight.
Brandon
Will the 2013 voodoo be better preforming the the 2012 voodoo. Ugugguuhgh
There really will be no difference in the 2 models. Generally from year to year the only changes will be to the paint scheme, and the manufacturer will try to work on the durability as well. Here is the link to view the details on this model. http://www.justbats.com/product/2013-demarini-voodoo--dxvdr-senior-league/15468/
Derek
Is this bat approved by USSSA 2013 rules? RG21
Yes, the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League bat features the new USSSA stamp and will be legal in 2013.
Aubrey
My son, 10 years old, was playing LL and using a 2010 Voodoo, 2-1/4" diameter for the past two years. He is starting to play USSSA ball and we are looking for a new 2-5/8 bat. He really liked the Voodoo, but I am concerned that the end-loaded 21 oz. 2-5/8 version will be too heavy. Should we go with a 21 oz voodoo or a 20 oz vexxum. Patrick
That all depends on the weight of his current bat, his swing speed, bat control and strength. You are more than welcome to contact us at support@batwarehouse.com or call us at 1-866-380-2287.
Tyler
Which bat has more of an end load this one,or Easton XL1 youth? yoda
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League is slightly more end loaded than the Easton XL1.
Kara
I noticed a "Do not use when temps are below 60 degrees." sticker on this bat. Why is this? CAS
It is recommended to limit the use of the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League bat when it is colder than 55 degrees out. The temperature effects the balls, not the bat, and there will be a higher chance of damage taking place to the bat.
Doug F.
My son is 11 and half, about 100lbs, power hitter, he uses a 29/21 Marucci cat-5 and loves it and crushes. I want to move him up to a 30' as he is older and stronger. What would you suggest for a power hitter 11 and a half, bigger kid with fast hands and can handle the cat-5 29/21? I was looking at the XL2 Easton, the Voodoo, the CF5? Help?? Thanks!! BEAR
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. The XL2, Voodoo and CF5 are not truly similar to the Cat 5, but the Voodoo will be the most similar in terms of balance and feel.
Tyler
I was told when i purchased this bat that it could be used in temperature under 55 degree because it has an alloy barrel please advise pk
You can use any bat when it's under 55 degrees. However, you need to exercise caution and limit how many total hits you put on the bat. Colder temperatures will effect the core of the baseball, making it harder. This increases the chances of dents or cracks to any bat (whether composite or alloy). Bats will alloy hitting surfaces are known to be a little more durable in colder temps, but you still need to be cautious.
Tyler
Single mom trying to figure out this bat stuff :) My son is moving up to the Jr. division in Little League and will also play on a 13u travel team. I want to confirm that it's approved for both teams. I'm also confused about which size to buy. He's a big kid at 5' 5" and 160 lbs. Thanks for your help! Ksmom
The suggested bat length for him is 32". The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League bat may be too light for him. Try this one, it will feel like the Voodoo. 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League bat. It will be more for his size.
Brandon
I want this bat for my son but I'm not sure what length and weight is right for him. He is 11, 5'1'', and 130 lbs. jessie
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League bat would be a great choice for him. The length he is recommended to use is a 31" bat length.
Brandon
I am 12 yrs old, playing on a club baseball team for development. I am 5'3", and am using the DeMarini 2013 Voodoo shown on this page. It is 32" 23 oz. I am a power hitter with a strong swing. Is this the right bat for me? I also have a 31' 23 oz. Marucci Black. Does that one work too? Bostonboy#00
Both the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR and the Marucci Black can be great bats for power hitters.
Kevin
Is this bat composite? 12345
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League has an alloy barrel and composite handle.
Marcus
Hi, I am 12 years old and about 5'1" 105 lbs. I'm wondering what length I should get? I am an average hitter and usually hit doubles and triples. sportsmaniac
We would suggest a 31" bat for you. Being that you are not a power hitter I would stay away from the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League. It has a slight end load which can be heavy and slow your swing down. I love DeMarini's bat so I would suggest the 2013 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League or the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League. They are more balanced and are great for the hitter that you are.
Chad M.
I am 13, 5' 10" and 130 lbs. I am thinking of getting the drop 5, I am going into Pony and I hit 16 home runs in Little League, what size do you think I should get? Russ
I would recommend a 33" 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League.
Kevin
Do you have the Voodoo in the 2 5/8" barrel in a 30" 17 oz. or a 29" 16 oz.? We have the Voodoo in a 2 1/4" barrel in a 29" 16 oz. but want the 2 5/8 barrel. NYCGOLF
Due to construction limitations, the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League cannot be produced in a 2 5/8" barrel with a drop -13.
Kevin
Would you recommend this or the 2013 Easton XL1? Eric
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League is going to be more of a balanced bat than the 2013 Easton XL1, so it depends on whether you prefer bats that are more end loaded or more balanced.
Marcus
I'm 12, 5'1" 137 lbs. Do you think I should get a 31" 22 oz.? Little League Triple Crown Winner
Based on your height and weight we recommend a 31" 22 oz. 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League.
Kara
Does this bat require a break-in period? Is it good for power hitters? traw
Since the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League has an alloy barrel, it does not require a break-in period. This bat has a slightly end loaded feel to it, which is preferred by many power hitters.
Marcus
My son is eight years old, 50 lbs, and 48" tall. He is a very good hitter and is wanting a new bat. He likes the Voodoo. What would you recommend? He's been using a 28" 18 oz. 2 3/4" Easton. pistol
Based on his size, a 28" 19 oz. model of the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR would be recommended.
Tyler
I'm a big kid and I need a new bat. Which bat do you recommend, the 2013 CF5 or the 2013 Voodoo?? matt
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League is an end loaded bat, best suited for a player with power. The 2013 CF5 is balanced, best suited for a batter who needs to increase their bat speed.
Kara
I'm 4' 11" should I get a 30" or 31"? cool
A 30" 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League is recommended at that height. But if the hitter has good bat speed at that age, a 31" would not seem too far fetched.
Brandon
When will this bat be available in 32"? hi
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League is discontinued. The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League is available in a 32" 23 oz.
Kara
I was listening to the sounds of the 2013 and 2014 Voodoo bats. They seem to sound very different, even though the barrels are made out of the same material. Is this correct? Longshots 9
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League bat and 2014 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League bats are made with the same X10 alloy on their barrels. The walls of the 2014 Voodoo are thinner which will change the sound and performance of the bat.
Robert
How does the 2013 Voodoo differ from the 2012 Voodoo? Are they both end weighted? Bbdad
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League will be designed like the 2012 model. They will be two-piece, composite handle, alloy barrel designs. They will both have barrel heavy, end loaded swing weights. The 2013 will just have newer bat materials.
Brandon
Even though it has an alloy barrel, does it still have pop? Tonymac5
Bats with composite barrels have not been proven to outperform bats with alloy barrels. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League bat features the newest BPF 1.15 stamp and its weight distribution makes it a great option for a power hitter.
Mac
Is this a very balanced bat? Will it feel lighter than it really is? bomb hitter 22
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League is an end loaded bat, rather than a balanced, and may feel slightly heavier than it actually is due to the weight distribution.
Katie
I am 13, 100 lbs. and 5' tall. Should I get a -5? Louie
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League bat is the -9 model. At age 13, I would try and swing a -5 if you can. At the high school level you will be forced to swing a -3 BBCOR bat.
Brandon
Should I get this bat, or the DeMarini CF5? James
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League is a two- piece hybrid design with an alloy barrel and composite handle with an end loaded swing weight. The DeMarini CF5 is a two-piece fully composite design with a balanced swing weight.
Aubrey
Can you use the 2013 Voodoo in a batting cage with dimple balls without ruining the bat? doty
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League can be used in a batting cage with dimpled balls.
Kara
I'm 12, 5 feet 6 inches ,and weigh 150 lbs. I'm a power hitter. Would this be a good bat for me? jerminator
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League is an end loaded bat, great for a player with power.
Kara
I am 5'7" 145 lbs, 13 years old. Will the 31 inch be long enough for me? slugger
Based on your height and weight we recommend a 32" 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League.
Kara
What size is the barrel? ME
The DeMarini Voodoo (DXVDR) has a 2 5/8" barrel.
John
My son is 5'2" and weighs 117 lbs. He is 10 years old. We bought him the composite Easton 29" 19 oz. but he has been struggling with his batting. He was one of the best hitters on his team - no. 4 in the lineup but he was moved back. He hit 3 home runs in the beginning of the season but has dropped off with the composite bat. He wants the Voodoo bat. Do you recommend this bat for him and if so what size? baseball dad
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League is an end loaded bat and is better suited for a player with power. A balanced bat like the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League would be best for a player who needs to increase their bat speed.
Kara
How does the X10 alloy differ from the SC4 alloy in the 2012 Voodoo? Hog Wild
DeMarini does not indicate exactly what was changed in the alloy blend between the X10 and SC4 alloys. The X10 alloy in the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League is their highest quality alloy and offers the thinnest, lightest, and strongest barrel walls possible.
Mac
What would be a half and half -9 two-piece bat bat like the voodoo, but balanced? nxt
The COMBAT Grifter: GRIFSL1 Senior League is a balanced, two-piece, -9 bat.
Damon
I'm a contact hitter thinking about getting a 2013 Voodoo.If I have an average bat speed, should I get a 2014 Vexxum? #swagalicous
The 2013 Voodoo is more end-loaded than the 2014 Vexxum. If you are contact hitter with average bat speed, then I would highly recommend getting the 2014 Vexxum.
Justin R.
I am either going to get the 2013 Voodoo or the 2014 Voodoo. What's the difference with the handles? dylan
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League uses new Paradox composite materials, for a stiffer handle. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League uses TR3 F.L.O composite. The 2014 Voodoo also features a RCK knob for a more comfortable grip.
Kara
Does this bat and the new 2014 Voodoo still have the same amount of pop? Would this have more pop than the XL1 even though composite bats are supposed to have more pop? van
The pop on the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League, 2014 Voodoo and Easton XL1 will all be comparable because they have to meet the same BPF 1.15 standards. The Voodoo's will feel end loaded, but the Easton XL1 will have a heavier end load. If you can create good swing speed with a heavier bat, you will be able to create more power.
Tori
Which bat is more end loaded the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo or the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo? h
Both the 2012 and 2013 DeMarini Voodoo will have similar end loads.
Damon
My son is currently using a 31" 23 oz. COMBAT Bubba and both he and I have noticed a drop off in performance now with the colder weather. Would this be a good bat to use instead of the COMBA Bubba during the winter? jr
An alloy barrel bat such as the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League is better suited for colder temperatures. It is slightly end loaded, better for a power hitter.
Kara
Should I use this or the 2014? tbab
The DeMarini Voodoo (DXVDR) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo (DXVDR) are both very high performing bats The 2014 Voodoo uses new paradox material for a stiffer feel and a new knob for better comfort.
Kara
Is this a used bat or just an older model? Do you have it in a 31" 21 oz? Squirrel
The DeMarini Voodoo (DXVDR) Senior League is a brand new bat, but it is an older model. The DXVDR only comes in a -9, so a 31" 21 oz is not available.
Jason
I am 12 years old and 85 lbs. I'm more of a contact hitter than power. Should I get the 2014 CF6 or the 2014 Voodoo? zay
The DeMarini Voodoo (DXVDR) is end loaded and best for a power hitter. The DeMarini CF6 is a balanced two-piece bat and better suited for a contact hitter.
Kara

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
