Description

New for The DeMarini Voodoo has become the bat of choice for thousands of players all over the country. This year's Voodoo is perhaps the best yet. With a hybrid design featuring an X10 Alloy barrel joined with a TR3 F.L.O. Composite handle, DeMarini has created a baseball bat that is beyond good. DeMarini's brand new alloy, X10, is designed with a proprietary blend of alloy agents that when put together create a barrel with optimal strength. This unique strength allows for finely tuned barrel walls to create the ultimate sweet spot, no matter what regulations may exist. The TR3 F.L.O. Composite handle further enhances the Voodoo's strength, while creating a lighter swing weight than ever before. DeMarini's Half and Half two-piece technology makes YOU stronger by silencing feedback on off-center hits and creating the largest, most responsive sweetspot by flexing before impact and recoiling with a burst of ball-launching energy! The Voodoo's exclusive Ion V End Cap has two layers. One to keep the barrel stiff, while the other transfers energy from barrel to ball with pure over-the-fence power. Constructed with an ever-so-slight endload, the Voodoo feels like you've harnessed the power of a thousand black suns to sacrifice the soul of the fastball. DeMarini: Born Hardcore! The Voodoo is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC, and USSSA. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: i'm a contact hitter and this bat gave me the edge that I needed to hit the ball hard...I hit my first grand slam with this bat.

Cons: half and half style makes it hard to hit the really close inside pitches...its a great bat though

Pros: My son is a small 8 year old who has been using a 27 inch 14 oz bat. I was hesitant to get this bat because all the reviews say it is head heavy. My son hit two stand up doubles in his first game with this bat. The ball comes off the bat hot. The graphics are cool and my son loves it.

Cons: My son has to wipe the bat down after every game so everyone can see the skull in the next game :)

Pros: Just holding this bat, you can tell it's made with high quality material. It's a far cry from the $50 bats in sporting good chains. While expensive, you definitely get your money's worth. My 10 year old son has been using (30in/17oz) for a few weeks with great success. No question, the ball jumps off the bat. He's a contact hitter, but has been sending the ball to the outfield with every solid hit.

Cons: none so far

Pros: I got this bat this year mid-year. I got a 32-19 model. It's a great bat. I'm a contact hitter who can get power and I've hit about 5 doubles with this bat in about 10 games. The graphics are sick! The new technology makes this amazing bat series even wickeder.

Cons: A little top-heavy, but otherwise, it's a great bat!

Pros: I have the 28" 15 oz for my 5 year old son--the bat is excellent as endloaded and the composite handle is great as it absorbs stings. if the ball is hit on the sweet spot with a prety decent swing, the ball flies. my son hit a 120ft HR. take the pitches and hit the ball on sweet spot

Cons: if the ball is pitched inside, best to take the pitch as chances are-the ball will not travel that fast or far for 28" 15oz

Pros: My son is nine years old and tall for his age. He just transitioned from the 2011 29/16 Voodoo to the 2013 30/17 version. The 2013 Voodoo seems to be a great fit for him and his style (bat speed, line drive hitter). The new bat provides a noticeable increase in pop. Balls seem to jump off the bat really well, particularly given the composite handle and alloy barrel design. My son and I struggled deciding between the CF5 and the Voodoo. After he used both bats, the decision seems like the correct one for him.

Cons: The bat seems significantly louder than past years' models and attracts a lot of attention during indoor training. This is a very small issue, however, and is not a problem that makes me grade the bat any lower than with highest marks.

Pros: This bat may not have a composite barrel, but it is still in my opinion better. Many other people have said so to. I took it to a demo house and i liked it better than the 2013 cf5, combat b3 gear, m2m, and vexxum. It is -13, so its very light, ut also enloaded so you can swing it fast and still get a lot of power. The weather also doesnt effect this alloy barrel. I like this bat and the s1 equally but probably this a bit more.

Cons: nothing this bat is perfect. Surorised they didnt use in LLWS.

Pros: Hits like a $200 bat.

Cons: My 7 year old hit about 20 out of 40 coach pitch baseballs, when the handle telescoped into barrel. I've read reviews of this problem on other sites. So it's not simply a lemon, as I hoped when I ignored those reviews. Avoid.

Pros: Very light for excellent bat speed; quality materials; has become one of the team's favorit bats.

Pros: My son had an older bat and was not hitting far or powerful with it. When I tired his bat it seemed dead. He was barely hitting to the fence line. We bought the new bat and tried it out. Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini Voodoo -13 Youth Baseball Bat: DXVDL? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Which do you prefer for a 12 year old kid, the 2012 or 2013 Voodoo in Cal Ripken Leage? Bradley
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo uses new X10 Alloy which is designed to be more durable. The new 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is slightly end loaded. If he is stronger, the new Voodoo would be a good choice.
Kara
I've been waiting for this bat to come out. My son is 10 and 83lbs. I'm a little concerned that it may be a little too heavy because of the end loading. Your thoughts? Brodie
If your son is used to the feel of an end loaded bat, then he should be able to use this one just fine. However, if he is used to more balanced bats and has never used an end loaded bat, it will definitely take some getting used to.
Jennifer
my son is 5'8" 160 pounds. would this be a good bat for him? baseball
Yes. The Voodoo would be a great choice. Based on his height and weight, I wouldn't go any smaller than the 32 inch model.
Tyler
I went on the LL website to make sure this is LL approved, It is not on the site as of 4/4/12. Please advise Lee
This bat had not yet been released at the time that Little League last updated their list. Rest assured that the next time the list is updated, the 2013 Voodoo will be on it.
Patrick
My son has used his teamates 2012 Voodoo and hit it extremely well, so is there a big difference in the endload you mentioned in previous question? Dino
He will be able to tell a difference between the two bats If he already has quick bat speed and good power, the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo would be a good choice for him.
Kara
I'm looking for a bat that is light, has good bat speed, and has good pop. would the 30/17 be a good choice? I'm 4"9 and 11 yrs old. M.C. platypus
The Voodoo is a bat with tremendous pop. The DXVDL will feel slightly end-loaded, but a 30 inch 17 ounce model should be a great choice.
Tyler
Hey, I'm 12 years old and weigh 104 lbs. What size would be best for me if I decide to purchase the 2013 Voodoo? Stoney
We recommend a 31" or 32" 2013 DeMarini Voodoo based on your age and weight. The Voodoo is slightly end loaded, so the smaller size would work better if you are not a power hitter.
Kara
My grandson is 9 yrs old, 52" tall, and 80 lbs which Voodoo bat would be best for him? Kiki
Based on his height and weight, a 29 inch model would be recommended.
Tyler
How hot does it have to be to use this bat? What size bat do you prefer for a 12 year old, 120 pounds, 5 ft.? Bradley
I don't recommend using the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo when the temperature drops below 55 degrees. For your specs, I advise using a 30" - 31" bat. For more bat sizing information, check out the Bat Coach feature on our website: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Derek H.
My son is 50 in. and 52 lbs . How does the "end loading" on this bat compare to a Easton Stealth LCN4 composite bat and/or a cheap walmart bat? Better model for him, 2012 voodoo or 2013 Voodoo? derek
The 2013 DeMarini Voodo will feel more end loaded than the LCN4. Two piece bats like the Voodoo tend to be more end loaded because alloy weighs more than composite. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo will be more end loaded than the 2012 version. If he has quick bat speed and has power, we recommend the 2013 Voodoo.
Kara
How does the 2013 Voodoo compare to the XL series bats by Easton? Barrel length and end load. I realize the Voodoo is a -13 and the others are -10/-11. Thanks. JT's Dad
Both the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo and the Easton XL2 are both slightly end loaded. The Easton XL2 has a slightly longer barrel.
Kara
Other than the Voodoo being end loaded and the different drop weights, what is the difference between the Voodoo and the new CF5? Mattyfire
The DeMarini Voodoo has a slight end loaded feel to it and has an alloy barrel. The DeMarini CF5 is a very balanced bat and has a composite barrel.
Jennifer
is the 2013 voodoo a better bat than the 2012 voodoo whats the difference aman
Generally, from year to year there isn't going to be much difference in the construction of the bat. They may try to strenghthen the bats, but is usually just a change in paint scheme.
Derek
If you have a slow swing would a bat with endload be a good choice? dirtdevils8
No. If you have a slow swing, and endloaded bat will make it even slower. You will want a balanced bat if you have slow swing speed.
Tyler
How is bat improved from last year's Voodoo? josh
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is more stiff and end loaded than the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo. It also uses new X10 alloy for a stronger, more durable alloy barrel.
Kara
Will this bat make me a power hitter? lj
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is a two piece bat which is more suited towards contact hitters since it has quite a bit of flex. Power hitters tend to prefer a one piece bat or a two piece bat that has a stiff flex.
Nick K.
My 11yr old boy has good bat speed but is not a power hitter but good contact hitter. Is a end loaded bat bad for a contact hitter? He currently has a Easton Convert. Eric
End loaded bats are more designed for power hitters. Contact hitters should swing a balanced bat.
Nick K.
I've been using the 2011 Voodoo and it got about 10 plus homers, but that's including practice as well. But my question is will it give me more power and pop? Mr big time
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo will have more of an end loaded feel, great for generating power.
Kara
If I use this in batting practice will it affect the pop? voodoo is the best bat
Batting practice should not affect the pop of the bat. I would stay away from hitting the yellow dimple balls because they can do damage to the bat.
Nick K.
Is this bat BBCOR Little League approved? Nick
This bat is little league approved. It is not BBCOR certified. That certification is only for adult drop 3 bats.
Damon
You say that this bat is little league approved however according to Little League this bat is not listed as approved. Brent
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL features the new USSSA stamp and is has printed on the barrel approved for play in Little League.
Tom
Is there a break in time or ready right out of wrapper? jon
There is no break-in time required for the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo. It has an aluminum barrel and only bats with composite barrels require break-in time.
Tom
As a contact/speed guy, would you suggest a 2013 voodoo or a 2013 Cf5, (the 2012 CF5 is also a option) When
The 2013 CF5 would be the best option, because it has a balanced swing weight that is perfect for contact hitters. The 2013 Voodoo is also a very good bat, but it is more endloaded and better suited for power hitters. The 2012 CF5 will have more standard weighting that will fall between the 2013 CF5 and the 2013 Voodoo.
Nick D
Does this bat come in a smaller size such as 27"16oz my son will be in first year of machine pitch 7years old? rope
28" 15 oz. is the smallest size the 2013 DeMarini DXVDL is produced in.
Tyler
What's the difference in this bat and the CF5 2013 model? I know CF5 is complete composite, so which bat is best for a hitter? lac
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is slightly end loaded. The 2013 CF5 will be more balanced. If you are a contact hitter with some power, we recommend the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo. If you need to increase your bat speed we recommend the 2013 CF5.
Kara
I'm 12 years old 5'2 feet 93 pounds, and I'm more of a contact hitter than a power hitter What bat do you think I should use, the 2013 Demarini Voodoo or 2013 CF5 and what size? Romee
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is slightly end loaded, better for a contact hitter with some power. We recommend the 2013 CF5 in a 31".
Kara
What should I use if I want more power? The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo or the 2013 DeMarini CF5? Romee
You will be able to hit for power with both the DeMarini Voodoo and the DeMarini CF5. The main difference is that the CF5 is fully composite. whereas the Voodoo has a composite handle and aluminum barrel. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
Is the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo youth bat suitable for 9yr old kid pitch? CAS
Yes, if a small barrel bat is required.
Damon
My son is 10, is 4"11 and weighs 75 pounds. Not a power hitter and slower to average bat speed. Would you recommend the 2012 or 2013 Voodoo, or a different bat like the CF5? Also, what length and weight? Marty
The Voodoo has a slightly endloaded feel. Due to this, I wouldn't recommend it for a player with below average swing speed. The CF5 will be more balanced and better suited for him. A 30" bat is recommended with a weight between 17 and 20 ounces.
Tyler
I have a 7 old son who is playing machine pitch and has a very fast swing speed for his age. I was looking at the Voodoo for him but wanted to get your opionion if another DeMarini bat would be better suited for his age and swing speed. Glenn
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo is slightly end loaded, perfect for a player with great bad speed.
Kara
Does bat have OFFICIAL SOFTBALL logo on it? Neal
No, the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth baseball bat has the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp and is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC, and USSSA leagues.
Jeff
What are the differences in performance between the 2012 and 2013 Voodoos? BatBoy
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth will be slightly more durable, but overall the 2012 and 2013 models will have the same performance.
Doug F.
My son is turning 11 this December, and currently swinging the 2012 Voodoo 29/16. I'm looking to get him a new bat, and have come to 3 choices. The 2013 Voodoo, 2013 CF5, or the CF4. He is slightly over 5' and weighs 94lbs. He is more of a contact and line drive hitter. What would be the best bat for him and size? Pasco Dad
Out of the three bats you are looking at the 2013 DeMarini CF5 is going to be the best bat for your son. It is more balanced than last years CF5, and the perfect bat for a contact hitter. The Voodoo will feel a little too end loaded, and we no longer carry the DeMarini CF4. He should be using a 31" 21oz. bat.
Noah
We have the 2011 DeMarini Voodoo Youth and are considering the 2013. Comparing the same bats from 2011 to 2013, is the 2013 barrel longer? 2012? Patrick
The barrel length did not change between the 2011, 2012, & 2013 models. However, the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth uses new composite and alloy materials. It will be more end loaded and stiffer than the 2011 and 2012 models.
Kara
My son is 11 years old, 4'6" and weighs 60 pounds. What bat size would you recommend? TheMan
The recommended length would be 29". At 11 years old I would also recommend between an 18 oz. and a 20 oz. bat.
Jeff
My son is almost 9, 4'8 and weighs about 90lbs. What size would you recommend? SR
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 29" 16 oz. model in the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth bat. For more information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/

With all the technology today's bats seem hot right out of the box. Will using this bat in pre-season batting practice and using dimple balls damage this bat or any bat? Jakeo
Fully composite bats should not be used in batting cages that use yellow dimpled ball, as they can damage the the composite materials. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth has an alloy barrel so it may be used in a batting cage.
Kara
Trying to decide between the 2013 Voodoo and the 2013 Easton XL2 for my son. He makes the most contact on the lower half of the barrel (closest to hands). Based on this, would you recommend the Voodoo or the XL2? The barrel on the XL2 looks longer in the pics but it could just be image. mclellan_a
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth and the 2013 Easton XL2: YB13X2 Youth bats will feel and perform very similarly. The Easton XL2 will have an extended barrel, which may help him on those balls he keeps hitting off of the handle. Both bats will have a slight barrel heavy, end loaded feel to them. They both will be made up of composite handles and an alloy barrel. Neither will require any period of break-in. Either bat will make a great selection.
Brandon
Has it been confirmed that the 2013 edition has been approved for Little League? Sparky11968
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL has an alloy barrel, making it automatically approved and legal in Little League.
Tyler
My son is 11 going on 12 he is 4'10" and about 75 lbs. Which bat would you recommend for a contact hitter the 2013 DeMarini CF5 or the Voodoo or something else? His coach recommended the CF5, but the lightest they have is 19 oz. and he is use to 17 to 18 oz. tawny
I would still recommend going with the DeMarini CF5. It may be an ounce heavier, but it is super balanced, which is perfect for any contact hitter.
Noah
My son turns 12 in May 2013 and last year he used a TPX Omaha 29 inch bat. He has hit a growth spurt over the past year and seems to be stronger. Should I go with the 31" or 30" Voodoo, or do you recommend a different bat? hamdog
The recommended size would be a 30". A 31" would not be too big of a jump though. The 2013 Voodoo is a great bat. As a 12 year old I would check the Youth Big Barrel section also.
Brandon
I got this bat, can this be used in little league juniors? bones
Yes, the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth bat is approved for little league.
Aubrey
How does this bat compare to the Vexxum? Auttp
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth is more end-loaded than the Vexxum. Overall, the performance will be the same between both bats.
Frank
My son is 7 years old. He is about 48 or 49 inches tall and weigh 53lbs. He has quick hands and is a contact hitter. Currently he is swinging a Easton Reflex LX71 28inch 15oz. I'm thinking about upgrading to a bat that would give him more pop and drive on the ball. Is the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo DXVDL a good transition and if so what size would your recommend? A 28oz or 29oz? Kenny
The DeMarini Voodoo is a great bat that sells very well and is known to have above average pop. If he had good strength and swing speed with his 15 oz. Reflex, a 29" model of the Voodoo is recommended. If he had average to below average strength and swing speed, then a 28" model of the Voodoo would be recommended.
Tyler
is the bat legal for USSSA 14 year olds!!!! todd
This bat would be legal for league play, because his bat features he USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp. Here is a link to view more details on this model. http://www.justbats.com/product/2013-demarini-voodoo--dxvdl-youth/15467/
Derek
My 11 year old son is 5 feet tall and weighs 90 pounds. What size Voodoo would you recommend? Jeff
I would recommend the 30" 17 oz. 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth for your 11 year old son.
Marcus
Is this bat good for a 13 year old junior league or what bat is good for that is has to be little league approved and this bat is but it seems like a little kid bat could a 13 year old with the 32 inches be good? Alex rodriguez
Most players in the Junior Division of Little League will use a big barrel bat, but I know of a few player at that age who use small barrel bats like this 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL. Personally, I would recommend a heavier bat. This bat has a -13 length to weight ratio, and if your player has any hopes of playing at the High School level, he will be better suited with a heavier bat. This is because at the High School level players will have to use a heavier bat as all bats must have a -3 length to weight ratio.
Tyler
What temperature do you recommend before using the Voodoo? hoover
We recommend the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth to be used in temperatures above 55 degrees.
Frank
My kid is 4'5" 74 lbs. What size bat do you recommend? chip
Based on his height and weight, a 29" model of the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL would be recommended.
Tyler
What type of temperature for the Voodoo? ssprao
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth does not have any temperature restrictions.
Kara
What size bat should my son get? He is only 8 years old. dave
I would recommend the 29" 16 oz. 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth for your 8 year old son.
Marcus
My son is 8 yrs old, 53 inches tall, and 68 lbs. With a nice swing, according to chart the recommended size is 30" 17oz., but many reviews I see recommendations for 29" 16oz. for comparable size kids. Would you recommend the larger size? He is growing fast. Swndg
For his height and weight I would recommend going with the 30" bat to give him some room to grow in to.
Noah
Hi, what is the difference between this bat, the DeMarini Voodoo DXVDL and the XL2 (-11) Easton? Is one more end loaded than the other? mamba
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth bat will have a very similar end load to the Easton XL2 Youth bat. One will not have a much heavier feeling than the other. Both designs are also the same. Composite handle and an alloy barrel.
Brandon
How does the end load compare to the 2013 Easton S2: YB13S2 Youth? ac
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth is end loaded. The 2013 Easton S2: YB13S2 is balanced.
Kara
How does the barrel length on this compare to the Easton YB11S2? My son is 5'2" and about 110 lbs. He has a 2013 Vexxum 31" 20 oz. I am looking at getting him a second bat and was looking at an Easton YB11S2 32" 19 oz. I am wondering about the barrel and bat length. Thanks. Mark
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth bat will have a slightly longer barrel length than the other bats. A 31" bat length is recommended for his size, but a 32" is definitely not too long.
Brandon
I'm 4'9", should I get a 30" 17 oz. or 29" 16 oz.? Bobert
For the most accurate sizing information, I recommend visiting our Bat Coach at http://www.baseballbats.com/bat-coach/.
Aubrey
Are these bats approved for Babe Ruth baseball for 2013? They are composite handle bats but do not have a BBCOR .50 certification stamp on them. I'm under the impression that all composite handle bats must certified BBCOR .50. mike
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth is legal in Babe Ruth. Only composite barrel bats have to be BBCOR certified.
Kara
Is this bat ASA approved? a2k
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth is intended for baseball use. The 2013 DeMarini Vendetta C6: DXVCF Fastpitch is a fastpitch bat in a similar size that is ASA approved.
Katie W.
I'm trying to decide between the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo and the 2013 Easton XL1 2013. Both bats are within price range and both have very slick design. brandon
Since both the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo Youth and the Easton XL1 Youth are end loaded and both great bats. They will preform very similar. It would really be decided by personal preference.
Chad M.
My son just turned 11 and he weighs 100 lbs and is 5 Feet tall. He has the power to hit the ball over the fence, but at the same time he is a good line drive hitter. He has been using the 2010 Louisville TPX Omaha 30" 20 oz. for the last two years and I would like to buy him a new bat. Would you recommend the DeMarini Voodoo or the DeMarnini CF5? I was thinking about the 30" 22 oz.? He likes the CF5 LE color scheme. TD
The DeMarini Voodoo is end loaded, which can be a bit different. It is for a power hitter. The DeMarini CF5 is very balanced and is more for a line drive hitter. It really comes down to if your son has the bat speed or experience to swing a end loaded bat. Both are amazing choices.
Chad M.
Can you tell me what DXVDL and WTDXVDR mean for the Voodoo? Mike
The DXVDL in the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth description is just a model number for the bat.
Noah
My son is 12 years old, 5' 1" and 125 lbs. He's more of a power hitter than a contact hitter. Is the DeMarini Voodoo 32" 19 oz. a good choice? Al
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth is a good choice for a power hitter, as it's an end loaded bat. Based on his size and age, we'd recommend the 31" 18 oz.
Katie
Aside from the -13 vs. -12 and slightly end-loaded vs. balanced swing weight, how does this bat compare to the 2014 Vexxum. What's the difference between the TR3 handle vs. the C6 handle? Mark
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth and the 2014 Vexxum are both great bats from DeMarini. The drop sizes are close at -13 and -12. But that swing weight is a big issue. The Voodoo and its barrel heavy, end loaded swing weight will provide some good power. The Vexxum will be easier to swing and help the batter achieve better swing speeds. The handles will just be different types of composite materials.
Brandon
How far on average does the 30" 17 oz. hit? contact kaleb
We are unable to provide a distance on how far a ball will travel on any bat including the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth. The distance depends on several factors including the speed of the pitch and the strength of the player.
Kara
My son's 2011 DeMarini CF4 just broke (at the handle), this was a 31" 20 oz. He used a 2011 Easton Omen XL (30" 18 oz.) last season. How will the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo (31" 18 oz.) compare to these bats? He's 11, 5' 3", 105 lbs, and a good hitter (line drives with occasional power). derek
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth will be pretty comparable to the bats he has used in the past. The Voodoo does have an end loaded feel, but since it is a -13 it should not really feel much heavier than the bats he had already used.
Noah
Do you have a 28" 18 oz. Voodoo? Cheeriorock
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth only comes in a -13 drop, so all 28" youth Voodoo bats will weight 15 ounces.
Noah
Is it safe to use this bat with hitting sticks to warm up for games? Mike Mc
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth can be used with hitting sticks.
Kara
My son is 5 foot, 5 inches, 138 pounds, and a very big power hitter. Should I get him the 2013 Easton S1 or 2014 Voodoo? Chad
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth bat features a slightly end loaded swing weight that power hitters typically utilize more efficiently. The Easton S1 is a very balanced model and is generally preferred by contact hitters because it allows them to achieve higher swing speeds. Choosing a bat much more dependent on personal preference than recommendations. To aid in the decision, I would select the model that is most similar to bats he's successfully used in the past.
Mac
Hi, I'm 11, only 4'6" and 95 pounds. I'm a contact hitter and looking for some power. Which bat is best for me, the 2013 Voodoo the 2014 Voodoo or the 2013 CF5? nick m
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo are both end loaded. They are best suited for a power hitter. The DeMarini CF5 is more balanced and better for a contact hitter.
Kara
I am 4' 11" and 85 lbs. What size would you recommend? Voodoo bats
According to our sizing chart, I would recommend a 30" 17 oz for the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo.
Justin R.
I have heard that the Voodoo has to be broken in. Is that true and if it is how many swings on average should it take? The Boss
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth is hot our of the wrapper, so it does not require a break-in.
Noah
what has the lighter swing weight? the voodoo -13 or Easton s2 -13? kw
The Easton S2 is going to have the lighter swing weight because it is a balanced bat. The Voodoo is going to feel heavier being endloaded with more weight distributed towards the end of the bat.
Derek
My son is 11 years old, 80 lbs, 4'11". What size recommendation do you have for the DeMarini Voodoo? kstock
A 30" DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth bat would be best recommended at his size.
Brandon
I need a -3 DeMarini youth bat. The user is 158 lbs. and 5'4". What do you suggest? Texsaint
The DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDL Youth bat will be a -13. If you need a -3 bat you'll need to look in the Adult BBCOR section. I would checkout the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR. You can find all of the DeMarini's that will work for you in that size here: http://www.justbats.com/products/baseball%20bats~adult/approved%20for~bbcor/length%20to%20weight%20ratio~-%203/vendor~demarini/
Brandon
I am comparing a DeMarini Voodoo 30" -13 vs a Easton Mako 30" - 11 and wanted your thoughts on the bat speed and sweet spot for each. My son is 9 yrs old, weighs 87 lbs and is ~4'9" tall. What other bats would also you consider? BBall Dad
The DeMarini Voodoo and the Easton Mako are both high quality bats. As far at bat speed goes, the Easton Mako should allow for slightly better bat speed, as it has a more balanced design than the DeMarini Voodoo, which has a slight endload to it. However, the DeMarini Voodoo you are comparing to the Mako is also 2 oz lighter than the Easton Mako, so that should help account for the swing speed differences. Both bats are going to have very large sweet spots, and are very comparable in that regard. As far as other bats to consider, the DeMarini CF6 is a bat that is very comparable to the Easton Mako in terms of having the massive sweet spot typical of more end loaded bats, as well as having a very balanced swing weight.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
