Description

There are 3 constants when it comes to slow pitch players and their bats. They want a bat that's hot out of the wrapper, they're always looking for the next best thing, and they prefer either a balanced or end-loaded design. Raw Power is Easton's answer. The Raw Power line features the B-Series that offers evenly balanced designs for controlled power, and the L-Series that offers end-loaded designs for absolute maximum power. Part of the B-Series, the B4.0 has a longer 13.5 inch evenly balanced barrel for a controlled, yet powerful swing. The B4.0 features Easton's patented one-piece fully composite design. The barrel is constructed from Easton's trademark IMX Composite for an optimal sweet spot and maximum performance, while SIC Black Carbon is added to the handle to create the BEST feeling composite bat you'll EVER swing. This handle is wrapped with an ultra-thin gauze grip that is perfect for players that like tack without the bulkiness of many modern grips. The time is now to bring Raw Power to YOUR game. Easton: Engineered for Glory! The B4.0 features the new ASA stamp and is approved for play in ASA and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Easton B4.0 Slow Pitch Stephen player

Pros: Good pop out of the wrapper Good overall balanced feel Similar pop and feel to the Easton S2

Cons: Tough to get used to the smaller handle (but just thinner grip best I can tell).. Probably 100 swings in, I don't think its totally broke in yet.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton B4.0 Slow Pitch Softball Bat: SP14B4? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What is this bat comparable to from previous years? I'm looking for a 2014 version of the SRV5 which is slightly end loaded, but the L6.0 is very end loaded. T
This 2014 Easton B4.0 (SP14B4) Slow Pitch bat would be most comparable to the S2 (SP13S2) Slow Pitch model in design. Both are balanced, one-piece composite designs that feature 13.5" barrel lengths. This bat will offer a longer barrel than the SRV5 and is more balanced. There really isn't a direct replacement for the SRV5 in the current Easton line, as all of the L Series bats feature heavier end loads than the slight end load of the Salvo.

Is this comparable to the old Flex? Slappy
This 2014 Easton B4.0 (SP14B4) Slow Pitch bat would be the most comparable bat in Easton's current lineup to the CNT Flex Synergy. It is a one-piece composite design that has a balanced swing weight and 13.5" barrel length. This B4.0 will be optimized to hit the newer ASA softballs and should offer more durability.
Mac
The new ASA ball is .52 COR/300 Compression. My league still uses the old harder ASA ball(.44 COR/375 Compression). Is this bat suitable for the old ASA ball? If not, what bat would you recommend for the old harder ball? Bob
The 2014 Easton B4.0 (SP14B4) Slow Pitch features the new ASA stamp, which means that they are meant to be hit with the softer .52 COR 300 Compression balls. This bat would do well with the 44 COR balls, however the durability of the bat would be severely compromised. We recommend using a bat that features the old 2004 ASA stamp.

Looking for another Easton similar to the S2. Is the 4.0 a better fit or the 3.0? gmoney
The balanced, one-piece composite design of the 2014 Easton B4.0 (SP14B4) is most similar to the Easton S2.

Would this bat be similar to SRV4? kokid32
The 2014 Easton B4.0 (SP14B4) is a one-piece composite bat similar to the the SRV4 except that is balanced. The 2014 Easton L5.0 (SP14L5) has an end loaded feel similar to the Easton Synergy.
Kara
Which 2014 Easton bat is closest in swing to the Easton Synergy SCN3? Travis Malterud
The 2014 Easton B4.0 (SP14B4) will have a balanced swing weight that is similar to the Easton Synergy SCN3. Both are one-piece composite bats.
Kara
Is this bat a direct replacement for the 2013 S2 Power Brigade? If it's not a direct replacement, what are the differences of the bat? Also, would I be able to use this for USSSA? lisa
The 2014 Easton B4.0 (SP14B4) Slow Pitch bat, along with the (SP14B2), are the most similar bats in Easton's lineup to the S2 Slow Pitch bat. They are one-piece composite designs that feature IMX Composite barrels. But the S2 was approved for both ASA and USSSA play, and both the B2 and B4 feature an upgraded SIC Black Carbon Composite material in their handles. This (SP14B4) is not approved for play in USSSA, but the B2.0 (SP14B2) is the same design that is approved for play in USSSA.
Mac
Does the Easton SP14B4 have a 1.20 BPF stamp that is required in my league? I have 5 Eastons and do not like the new grips. The last bat I got they threw in a soft grip wrap and I redid it myself. Do you still do that? dave
The 2014 Easton B4.0 Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SP14B4) would not have the 1.20 BPF stamp because it is an ASA approved bat and that stamp is for USSSA play. The bat you would want to look at is the 2014 Easton B2.0 Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SP14B2). This would be the USSSA version of the bat. We do not sell or stock aftermarket or spare grips so we would not be able to provide any for you. We strictly retail the bats as they come from the manufacturer.
