Description

New for There's a certain standard of quality that people know they're getting with an Easton bat. That's why this year's models feature the Easton name even more prominently than the name of the bat itself. When fielders see you out there with your Easton bat, they'll know they better take a step back. The Easton Convert is very appropriately named, as it has converted countless players to Easton. The Convert is not the kind of bat that you see everyday for under $100. Its two-piece hybrid construction features Easton's patented ConneXion Technology for optimized feel at impact while maximizing energy transfer. The barrel of the Convert is made from Easton's high-strength 7050 Aircraft Alloy. This material not only provides great durability, but fantastic pop as well. The barrel is also extended to accommodate Easton's massive sweet spot technology that provides hitters with a huge effective hitting area. The extended alloy barrel is connected to a composite handle that's designed ultra-thin at 29/32" and is wrapped with a Pro Tack grip for an excellent feel that promotes solid bat control. Get this bat and get CONVERTED! Easton: Know-Feel-Be The Difference! The Convert is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC, and features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. Pros: My son is 9 and he tried the full composite bat priced at 230 smackers. He did not like the sound which is like a clocking sound vs. the ping from this Easton Convert. The full composite sounded like it had a cold. This bat is lively and ball jumps off it. The handle is composite which seems to help him with the BEES sometimes a young hitter might experience from not getting his bat barreling up as they say. This is a super bat

Cons: none thus far

Pros: My son has been using this bat for about 4 months now and is hitting it quite well. I bought it a little long for him 30" he's 4'4" and weighs 65 lbs, but he is now commanding it. He really likes the low amount of sting and the sound is not too "pingy."

Cons: I haven't seen any yet.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton Convert Youth Baseball Bat: YB13CT? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Which is the best bat for a power hitter: XL3, Convert, or Reflex? Big D
The Easton XL3 would be the best bat for a power hitter.
Damon
My son has an Easton Stealth comp bat full composite it has the 1.15 stamp on it, is it still ok to use in little league? donny
Yes, the Easton Stealth will be legal to use in little league baseball.
Noah
My son has an Easton Redline & it says USSSA Approved 1.15. But an umpire said it was not legal & we needed to get a letter? Shillelagh Law
According to USSSA guidelines the old USSSA mark is legal until 2014. The old mark will say "USSSA 1.15 BFP" all together in one spot on the bat. For further information you may go to the USSSA website; http://www.usssa.com/usssa/usssa-general/NewUSSSABaseballBatMarks.pdf
Kara
For a contact hitter which one would be better the 2013 Easton Convert or the 2013 Easton Reflex? BLUNT
The Easton Convert YB13CT is a two-piece bat, and generally better for a contact hitter.
Aubrey
What type of composite is in the handle? Vernon
The 2013 Easton Convert features Easton's IMX composite material.
Tom
is this bat end loaded? single
The 2013 Easton Convert: YB13CT is a balanced bat.
Tyler
Is the drop 12 a better bat than the non drop bat? chel
All bats have a drop. The drop is the difference between the length and weight of the bat.
Kara
What is the difference between the Easton Convert and the S2. Are there performance differences? Looking for a bat for a 10 year old contact hitter with good bat speed. Mark
The alloy used in the S2 is higher in quality and will offer more pop and better performance compared to the Convert. The S2 will also be more evenly balanced with a lighter swing weight.
Noah
According to the charts my son will need a 30" bat if he grows an inch. If I get a 30" bat now, how much should a 30"/28 oz (half & half) bat effect my son's swing compared to his current 29"/18 oz (composite) bat? River City
That is a very, very big jump going from an 18 oz. bat to a 28 oz. bat. Typically, when players move up more than 5 or 6 oz. in weight, you see a significant decrease in swing speed and bat control.
Tyler
My 12 year old 5'1" 100# son currently has a 32" -12 Easton (2011?) LSS6XL Speed which is too big for him this year. I'll likely get him a 31" Easton bat. Tell me how a 2013 31" Convert compares to a 31" XL3 and a 31" model of the LSS6XL? He has pretty good swing speed but would consider him a contact hitter? He had a 30" Easton Redline the last 2 seasons which he liked. Mick
The Easton Stealth Speed is a two-piece full composite bat that has since been replaced by the Omen, then the XL1 and S1. The Easton Convert is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Easton XL3 is a one-piece full alloy bat that is more endloaded than the other two bats. The Easton XL3 is the most similar to the Redline and it's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.
Tyler
Did the Convert take the place of the Easton Surge? And how much better of a bat is the Easton Convert over an Easton Reflex? For an 8 yr old who weighs 55 lbs, which length and weight ratio would be best for him? quick55
The 2013 Easton S2: YB13S2 Youth replaced the Easton Surge. The 2013 Easton Convert: YB13CT and the 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX use the same 7050 alloy. The only difference is the Easton Reflex is a one-piece bat and the Easton Convert is a two-piece bat. We recommend a 29" 17 oz. 2013 Easton Convert: YB13CT Youth.
Kara
What is the difference in the 2013 Convert and 2012 Convert? PBLA
Easton did not make any changes to the 2013 Easton Convert: YB13CT Youth except for the color.
Kara
What size do you recommend for my son? He's 8, about 4' 5" and weighs about 95 lbs. He likes his bat to have a little weight on the end. Would this be the correct bat for him? sportsMOM
The 2013 Easton Convert: YB13CT Youth is a balanced bat. The 2013 Easton XL2: YB13X2 Youth is similar in design to the Convert, with an alloy barrel and composite handle, but the XL2 has the end loaded feel your son likes. Based on his size, we recommend a 30".
Katie
Is there a break-in period for this bat? If so, what are the steps in breaking in the bat? Francisco
The 2013 Easton Convert: YB13CT Youth does not require a break-in period with its alloy barrel. It does have a composite handle, but this design is ready to go right out of the wrapper.
Mac
My 8 yr old son plays in a league that uses squishy baseballs. I usually buy him a new bat every year. We like the Easton MAKO, but will it be as effective with the squishy balls? mom 3 boys
The Easton Convert (YB13CT) features a two-piece design with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The Easton MAKO is a two-piece composite bat. In a league where softer "squishy" balls are used, I would recommend going with a one-piece design. A one-piece will feel stiffer on contact (vs. the flex a two-piece allows) so it would be more ideal for use against the softer balls.
Tessa L.
The S1 is out of my price range; is this bat comparable, considering it is $150.00 less? CEJ
The two-piece design of the Easton Convert (YB13CT) is similar in feel as the Easton S1. For the price, it is a great option.
Kara
My son is 8 and weighs about 70 lbs. Would this bat be better for him or would he be better with the -13 S500? Does the better bat (at -12) have more upside than a -13 bat for a boy this age? CEJ
A -12 or -13 bat is suitable for a player his age and weight. The two-piece design of the Easton Convert (YB13CT) is a great option for a younger player.
Kara
Is this bat legal for use in kids softball? chris
You would not want to use a baseball bat like the Easton Convert Youth Baseball Bat (YB13CT) for softball play. You would want to look for a fastpitch softball bat in a smaller size. The baseball bats are not rated to hit softballs and vice versa.
