Description

Last season, Easton's Power Brigade Series dominated the softball diamond. This season, the all new Power Brigade Series picks up right where the original Series left off so the concept of the Power Brigade remains the same: allow players to personalize their power. The fact is, that players draw power from different sources. Stronger players may want a bit more weight and endload to their bat, while smaller players want a little less weight and a balanced feel. Easton solves this problem by offering Power Brigade bats in two categories: The Speed Series and The XL Series. Speed Series bats (FS1, FS2, and FS3) are characterized by lighter length to weight ratios and balanced swing weights to produce faster swing speeds and more power as a result. XL Series bats (FX1 and FX2) are going to be a little heavier and have a endloaded feel, giving stronger players extra momentum through the zone and more power behind each swing. This bat, the FS3, is a one-piece fully composite design made from Easton's IMX Composite. If you're looking for extra swing speed this season, there's only one logical choice - the bat that's built for SPEED to give YOU more POWER! Easton: Personalize Your Power! The FS3 is approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Great Bat Bobby DiBiasio coach

Pros: Balance is awesome. Excellent quality. Daughter is still adjusting however I use it for Batting practice. Out of the box the bat has great feel anywhere on the barrel. incredible feel off the bat. Ball jumps off the bat, easy to swing through it. Feels light having great balance. Grip is amazing. It has a better feel than the sleeves. Zero vibration. Had it for 3 weeks and getting better. Always used Worth and Demarini. Would buy another Easton without hesitation.

Cons: No big deal on this but it does chip easy. Cannot find any issues worth noting.

I LOVE this bat!!!! Carsyn player

Pros: I am 10 years old. I have the 30 in 18 oz. This bat has an amazing feel. My old bat have a ton of ring but this one has none. That is the best thing that I could ask for. Get this bat!!! Don't forget you need to break this bat in, or yes, it will snap. Do 100 balls off the tee and 150 soft toss. Rotate the bat 1/4 around so you can hit the ball from all sides. Again, BUY THIS BAT!!!

Cons: Nothing at all! Perfecto!!!

In Love Janna player

Pros: It's visually pleasing which is always a plus. I've gone through a lot of Easton bats but hands down, this one is my absolute favorite. It's so light and easy to swing. It's the best bat I've ever used and I'd go as far as to say it's up there with the Xeno type of bats. Mine is relatively new and I've used it once in the batting cages yet I've already seen an improvement in the way I hit. When contact is made, the bat has a great pop, I love it. The ball flies off of the bat and it makes phenomenal contact. I love this bat, it's a must for the upcoming season!

Cons: While the ball does make impact marks on the bat, it comes off with a little hard scrubbing and soap and water (At least when I hit the ball, this occurs. It could be different for others.)

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton FS3 Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP14S3? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How large is the sweet spot in comparison to the 2013 FS3 model? G
The 2014 Easton FS3: FP14S3 Fastpitch offers a very similar sweet spot size when compared to the 2013 version. The most noticeable difference between the two versions is that the 2014 FS3 offers a lighter swing weight with its -12 length to weight ratio versus the -11.5 length to weight ratio fo the 2013 model.
Mac
Is this primarily like the 2013 FS1 and FS2 except the swing weight? Trying to determine if this is a good bat since there are no reviews to date. Would this be a good bat for an 11 year old that only weighs about 65 pounds? Ray
The Easton FS3 is a one-piece composite bat that is designed for younger players with the bigger drop. It would be a good bat for an 11 year old. The Easton FS2 is also a one-piece composite bat but has upgraded composite in the handle and is designed for high school and college players. The Easton FS1 is a two-piece full composite and is also designed for high school and college players.
Damon
I'm a high school player and I need a new bat because mine is a little heavy. Would this be a good bat for me? softball
Yes. The 2014 Easton FS3: FP14S3 is a well balanced bat and would be good for a player who needed a little help with bat speed.
Damon
Hi. I have a 10 year old daughter, 4'7" and 90 lbs who is a line-drive contact hitter. Which bat would be better for her - the 2014 Demarini CF6 DXCFS (-11) or Easton FS3 (-12)? Steve
I would have to recommend the Demarini CF6 for a contact hitter. The CF6 is a two piece construction and would have a little more flex to give her more pop. Whereas the Easton is a one piece construction with less flex. Here are the links to compare details if needed. http://www.justbats.com/product/2013-demarini-cf5--dxcfs-fastpitch/15519/?pa_source=justbats&pa_campaign=was&pa_medium=badges&pa_content=2013-demarini-cf5--dxcfs-fastpitch http://www.justbats.com/product/2014-easton-fs3--fp14s3-fastpitch/18483/
Derek
I'm a 15 year old that loves the pop on the bat. I am a power hitter. What bat do you recommend? Softball
The 2014 Easton FS3: FP14S3 Fastpitch is a balanced bat, better for a player that needs to increase their bat speed. The 2014 Easton FX2: FP14X2 Fastpitch is end loaded and designed for a power hitter.
Kara
I am looking for a composite bat fast pitch softball for my daughter 5 ft 1 in 124 lbs power hitter any suggestions on bat with a good sweet spot? sky
Based on your daughter's size and weight, we recommend a 32" bat. The 2014 Easton FS3: FP14S3 Fastpitch is a balanced bat, better for a player that needs to increase their bat speed. The 2014 Easton FX2: FP14X2 Fastpitch is end loaded and designed for a power hitter.
Tessa L.
I have a 7 year old daughter that weighs 56 lbs. She is currently using the 2012 Easton Synge 28" 16 oz. which she loves. What is the difference in this bat other than new paint scheme? Chris
The 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3) uses upgraded composite material in the handle for better durability.
Kara
Is this bat a composite or an aluminum? Emily
The 2014 Easton FS3: (FP14S3) Fastpitch is a one-piece bat that is fully composite. It features the IMX Composite in its barrel and handle.
Mac
My daughter is 10yrs old, she's 4'7", and weigh's about 70 lbs. What size bat do you recommend? BigKev
Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 30" 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3).
Tessa L.
My daughter is 4'6" and weighs 66 lbs. What size bat should she be using? Vaughn
Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 30" 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3).
Tessa L.
my daughter is 4'7" and weighs 70 pounds. She is using a 29 inch, drop 12 Easton Mystique. What size in the F# would you recommend? Ted1010
If your daughter is seeing success with the 29 inch Easton Mystique, the 29 inch model of the Easton FS3 would be a comparable feel as they both feature the -12 length to weight ratio. Based on her height and weight we would recommend a bat in a range between 29 and 31 inches.
Patrick
My daughter has a 31" 19 oz bat. She started using a teammate's 30" 18 oz bat and seemed to be much more successful. Does an ounce and an inch make that much of a difference? She is 4'7" and 69 lbs. scott
Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 30" model in the 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3) Fastpitch. It all depends on the player, but one ounce and one inch can make a difference in swing speed and decrease performance.
Jason
What size bat would you recommend for someone who is 5'5 and 145 pounds Katie
Based on the players height and weight, we would suggest a 33" softball bat. The weight of the bat would vary based on the players strength and what you feel comfortable swinging.
Patrick
What if any are the differences in this bat versus FS3 FP13S3 model? Thanks Jimmy
The 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3) will be very comparable to the 2013 model. The most noticeable difference between the two versions is that the 2014 FS3 offers a lighter swing weight with its -12 length to weight ratio versus the -11.5 length to weight ratio to the 2013 model.
Tessa L.
My daughter is 5'6 and 105 pounds. We just purchased a 33" 20 oz bat. Was that the right move? Flower
Based off of her approximate height and weight, the average size we would suggest would be 32 inches. However, moving up an inch can also be a good choice. It is important to take into consideration that kids are always growing and moving up a size will increase the longevity of the bat.
Merritt
Since our Spring Tourney is in MO, we will at least begin with games temperatures below 60 degrees at game time. How will this bat do in temperatures below 60 degrees? Do you have a different recommendation if this isn't the right bat for my 14U daughter? hayethere
The 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3 Fastpitch) bat will not perform its best in under 60 degree temperatures. You could see diminished performance or even barrel damage. This will be the same with almost every bat from every manufacturer, except for one. RIP-IT makes bats with no temperature rating on them. I may recommend one of their models to get you by in the colder months: 2014 RIP-IT Drop Twelve AIR (F1412 Fastpitch).
Brandon
Granddaughter is 5'4" 139 lbs. She is a power hitter. What bat would you recommend for 14U fastpitch player? Mama
For a power hitter, the 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3) may be too light. I would recommend going with a Easton FX1 (FP14X1) to get the most benefit out of the bat. The end loaded design and high quality composite will help maximize her power.
Justin R.
I just got a brand-new Easton FS3. I play 14U and I am about 5' 5" and weigh about 125 lbs. Was this the right bat for me? carson
The 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3) would be a good option. The lightweight design will give you TONS of bat speed. As you get older, you may want to transition to a -10 model.
Justin R.
What is the difference between a -12 and a -10? Do you have to have a -10 for 16U? kj
The 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3) features a -12 length to weight ratio, so the same length bat in the FS2 will be 2 oz. heavier, as that bat is a -10. Normally, there is not a restriction on the drop weights until you get to college, where they have to be a -10.
Justin R.
My daughter is 4' 11" and weighs 80 lbs. The Bat Coach recommends a 31" bat. However, she's just turned 10 and may not be as strong as older girls with her height. She's currently using a 29" 17 oz. alloy bat. She has great bat speed but I'm afraid a 19 oz. bat would be too heavy for her. Will this bat work out for her, or do you have any other recommended bat for her age and height? Thank you. Fort
The 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3 Fastpitch) will be a very balanced one-piece composite design. A 2 oz. jump in weight may be pretty large for her. She would definitely feel it. If she already has great bat speed, then it should not be a problem for her. Another good choice in the same size range would be this: 2014 DeMarini Vendetta (DXVCF Fastpitch).
Brandon
Is there a lot of vibration? neubes
Is the 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3) Fastpitch has a composite handle which should cut down on any vibration.
Damon
Trying to decide between the Easton FS3 and the DeMarini CF6. My daughter is 48" and around 62 lbs. taymom
The 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3) and the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFS) are both very balanced, high performing bats. We typically recommend a 28" bat for her height and weight. We are currently out of stock of the 28" FS3 and CF6. We recommend the 2014 Easton S400 (FP14S400).
Kara
Hi, I am 14, and am about 4ft 8in. I weigh around 82 lbs. I am swinging a 31 inch bat at the moment and was wondering if this bat seemed like a good choice? Olivia
Based on your height and weight our Bat Coach recommends a 30" length for the 2014 Easton FS3. If you are currently using a 31" length and accommodated to that size, the 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3) would be a great bat for you. The Easton FS3 (FP14S3) is a nice one-piece composite construction that would be a nice choice.
Zach
Looking for a bat for my 12 year old who is just starting to play competitively. She played rec ball for the last 3 years. She is approximately 5 foot 5 and she weighs 130 pounds. Do you recommend this bat? Rugs
The design of the 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3) would be a great option for your player. The lightweight -12 length to weight ratio should be good for her to adjust to faster pitching at a higher competitive level. The IMX composite material has proven to be not only very high performing but also very durable.
Patrick
Which bat is better? Debating between this and the 2014 Louisville Slugger M2. It's for a 7 year old currently batting with an Easton Synge. Which has more pop and durability? Marc.
The 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3) uses the same composite material in the barrel as the Easton Synge. It is similar in performance and durability. The 2014 Louisville Slugger M2 Fastpitch (FPM214-RR) is also a high performing bat. The two-piece design of the M2 will provide more flex than the Easton FS3.
Kara
My daughter is 4'8" and 150 lbs. She has really fast hands and using the 2013 Easton FS2 32" -10 which feels loaded on the end. She can handle the bat but against fast pitches she has a big hand drop in her swing. She might be having issues with the weight slowing her swing. When she connects with the ball its a deep high hit but those are rare. She hits really well with an Easton Typhoon 32" -11 bat. Nice big hits high, but not deep enough, the outfield only has to take 3-4 steps back to catch the ball. Would the 2014 Easton FS3 be a good bat to use? The bat appears to be on the lighter side between the two bats I have now. Bob
The 2014 Easton FS3 (FP14S3) is a very balanced one -piece bat. It is a great option for a player that needs to increase their bat speed.
Kara
My daughter is 11 and she is 4'8" and about 73 lbs. She uses a DeMarini 31" 18 oz. She's the lead off hitter looking for a new bat. What would you recommend? stone7677
The 2014 Easton FS3 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14S3) features a balanced swing weight, so it would be a great option for her to work on bat speed and bat control. The one-piece design will also provide a stiffer feel on contact as well. Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 30" bat.
Tessa
How does this compare to the Easton Stealth Speed from 2012? I hate that Easton quit making that bat. No other bat seems to have the same pop that one did. My daughter uses the 31x21 Stealth Speed, but it has met its end by cracking. What is comparable and has the same feel? hckyfnz
The 2014 Easton FS3 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14S3) will not quite compare with the Easton Stealth Speed. The best choice to look for for closest comparison would be the Easton FS1 Fastpitch Softball Bat. It would have the same feel.
Brandon
What would be the correct bat length for my daughter? She is 12 years old and is 5'1". Also, how do you determine the weight? Sandra
Based on her age, I would probably suggest a 31" in the 2014 Easton FS3 Fastpitch Softball Bat: (FP14S3). As for the weight, this can be harder to determine. Generally, it depends on the player's strength, and what feels most comfortable to swing through.
Merritt
My daughter was just using the Easton Synge -11.5 bat, 32". That bat is discontinued. What would be a similar bat by comparison? Danielle
The 2014 Easton FS3 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14S3) will be the model most similar to the Easton Synge. This model features the same one-piece fully composite design as well as the balanced swing weight. The FS3 is a -12 though, whereas the Synge featured a -11.5 drop weight.
Tessa
My daughter is nine years old, 5'1" and 126 lbs. What kind of bat do you recommend? Melody
For a player of her size and age, our bat coach recommends the Easton FS3 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14S3) in a 32" 20 oz. model. Typically most players around her age and size will prefer a drop 12 model. Another model that you could definitely consider would be the 2015 Louisville Slugger X12 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPXL152).
Joe
My daughter is 12 years old, weighs 90 lbs, and is 5 feet tall. I am considering the Easton FS3 for her. What are your thoughts? Sofia
I believe the Easton FS3 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14S3) would be a good choice for a player that size. Based on her height and weight, 31" would be the recommendation. The only size we have left for this model is a 32", but I couldn't say that would be the best fit at this point. We do have the newest FS3 ZERO available in the 31" length, also: http://www.justbats.com/product/2015-easton-fs3-zero-fastpitch-softball-bat--fp15s3/21255/.
Mac
My daughter is 5 foot 4 and weighs 143 pounds. She has been using the Easton Mako but has had problems with them denting. Would this be a wise choice? Chloe13
The Easton FS3 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14S3) is a nice model. It is as durable as all other high end composite models that are currently on the market. However, if you have had issues with the durability of the MAKO, I cannot guarantee that this bat would not see similar issues. It may be that the specific MAKO you got was one that had a factory defect causing the issues you saw and would be eligible for warranty replacement.
