Description

Last season, Easton took the diamond by storm when they released the inaugural Power Brigade Series. Easton is now gearing up the Power Brigade for its debut on the fastpitch softball field allowing players to personalize their power. The fact is, that players draw power from different sources. Stronger players may want a bit more weight and endload to their bat, while smaller players want a little less weight and a balanced feel. Easton solves this problem by offering Power Brigade bats in two categories: The Speed Series and The XL Series. Speed Series bats (FS1, FS2, and FS3) are characterized by lighter length to weight ratios and balanced swing weights to produce faster swing speeds and more power as a result. XL Series bats (FX1 and FX2) are going to be a little heavier and have a enloaded feel, giving stronger players extra momentum through the zone and more power behind each swing. This bat, the FX2, is a one-piece fully composite design that features a barrel made from Easton's IMX Composite that seamlessly transitions into an ultra-thin handle made from their SIC Black Carbon Composite. If you're looking for extra power this season, there's only one logical choice: The Easton Power Brigade! Easton: Personalize Your Power! The FX2 is approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Questions and Answers

My daughter swings the purple 2012 Easton Stealth 34" 24oz -10. She did very well with it. She's now in 16u. Is this bat very similiar to the purple Stealth? steff
The 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch bat will come in -9 sizing instead of the -10 her older bat had. This 2013 FX2 will have an End Loaded Swing Weight for added power and distance. The Barrel will be made from the same IMX Composite material as her older model. The 2013 FX2 bat will be a One-Piece fully Composite design compared to her older bat being a Two-Piece Composite model. They both will have the same Performance Grip and same Handle size. The 2013 FX2 is part of Easton's Power Brigade XL Series.
Brandon
What is the difference between the FX1 and FX2 in a -9? Coach Hill 79
The difference between the 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch and the 2013 Easton FX1: FP13X1 Fastpitch, is the FX1 is a two-piece composite design with ConneXion Technology . The FX2 is a one-piece full composite design.
Doug F.
Is this bat good in 40 degree weather? horse
Since the 2013 Easton FX2 is a fully composite bat, it can be damaged in temperatures under 50 degrees. Once it gets below 50 degrees, the ball gets harder and it can do damage to composite bats.
Nick
What is your best bat of your new 2013 models for a power hitter? Dad
That all depends on the hitter and their preferences as there are dozens of high-end bats on the market preferred by power hitters, and there is not one that stands above the rest.
Tyler
Is the FX2 more of a power hitting bat or a contact hitter bat? Amanda
The 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch bat is endloaded for stronger hitters with more power.
Tyler
My daughter has been using a 2011 Synergy Speed -9 and. Loved it but I in the market for a new bats. How does the FX2 compare to the Synergy Speed? Is the pop going be as good? Wilky
The 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch is a one-piece composite like the Synergy Speed. However, it has an end loaded swing weight. The 2013 Easton FS2: FP13S2 Fastpitch is the replacement for the Synergy Speed.
Kara
What bat do you prefer more for a power hitter? The 2013 Demarini CF5 Hope or the 2013 FX2 Easton? Amanda
Both the 2013 Demarini CF5 Hope and the 2013 Easton FX2 would be great for a power hitter. It comes down to personal preference.
Zach
So the difference in price between FX1 and FX2 comes down to two-piece vs one-piece? Since both are end loaded, for more power and my daughter is a power hitter, go with the FX2? Is shock/stinging a difference also in these bats? Thanks todd
You are correct. The main difference between them is that the 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch bat is a one-piece bat with the Single System Technology. It will feel more stiff being a true one-piece, which power hitters typically like. Both bats will have the end loaded feel also. Vibration and sting should not be an issue.
Brandon
I am a power hitter batting fourth, but I don't know which one would be better for me. I have a pretty hard, fast swing, but which one would be best for my style, one-piece or two-piece? Suzie
The 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch will be a one-piece fully composite design. This sounds like a bat you could really do some damage with. Power hitters tend to love the stiffer one-piece feel. It will also help you increase your power as well.
Brandon
My Daughter is 16 and has been using the Miken Halo -9 endloaded for the last 2 years and really loves the bat. The bad part is it is getting too hard to find the bat any more. Would the Easton FX2 be similar to the Miken? sftblldad
Yes. Like the Mike Halo, the Easton FX2 is a one-piece full composite bat with an endloaded swing weight for your stronger hitters. It will be very similar to the bat she has been using.
Tyler
Do we need to break-in the FX2 with soft toss, or can my daughter just start swinging this bat right out of the box? Russ
The 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch will require a break-in period of 150-200 swings with real leather softballs, rotating the bat a quarter inch each swing. Start at about 40%, and work your way up gradually until you reach the 150 swing mark.
Katie
My Daughter is 16 and has been using the Schutt Bustos -10 bat for the last +2 years and really loves the bat. Would the Easton FX2 be similar to the Schutt Bustos? Trish
The Schutt Bustos fastpitch bat was a one-piece full composite bat. The 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 is also a one-piece composite bat that will be a very comparable option.
Tyler
My 16 year old daughter has been using the Easton Cyclone 33" 24 oz. and loves it. What composite bat would most closely resemble the feel of the Cyclone? Randy
The 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch is the most similar to the Easton Cyclone. The only difference is it will be slightly end loaded. If she has power, it would be a perfect fit.
Kara
I'm not sure what bat to buy my daughter. She has fast hands and hits the ball hard and makes contact almost all the time and she occasionally hits a home run. She wants a one-piece bat is not sure if we should stay with minus 10 or switch to minus 9? Ed
The 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch has a slight end load to the bat. Which will slow down her bat speed. So, please put that into consideration when choose the size. If you add a end load to the bat and then add more ounces it could be too heavy. If she is more of a line drive hitter, maybe you should go with the Easton FS2. It is more balanced and a easier swinging bat.
Chad M.
My girl has a 31" 21 oz. Stealth now and hits in the 4 hole. She hit .401 last year but grew a lot. We need a 32" maybe a 33" bat. She likes the yellow bat but it's a -9, what would be best? max
The 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch bat would be a great selection. At -9, I would suggest a 32" 23 oz. It will give her an extra inch compared to her last bat, but add two oz. The extra weight will add some power to her contact with the ball.
Brandon
Since the Easton FX2 is one-piece bat the Easton FX1 is two-piece what is the performance difference? Max
The Easton FX2 will have a stiffer feel. As the Easton FX1 will have a flex to it's swing making it feel a lot lighter.
Chad M.
Why would one choose the FX1 over the FX2? My daughter is a solid power hitter, and I'm confused on which one to get. Shoey
A one-piece bat like the 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch is best suited for a power hitter.
Kara
Which Easton bat is most like an Anderson RockeTech? Softball Mom
All three of the Easton FX Series will have an end loaded swing weight like the Anderson RockeTech. Although they will have similar swing weights, the FX1, FX2, and FX3 will all be composite designs.
John H
My daughter is 14 years old. She is 5'2" and weighs around 150 to 155 lbs. She is a power hitter and did well with the 32" Easton Cyclone aluminum bat with a -9 drop. Is there a composite bat similar to this cyclone bat? My mom has bought her a composite bat that had the end loaded swing weight and she didn't like the feel of it. She then traded that in for an Easton 32" with a -12 drop and now it's too light. I'm at a loss and don't know which one to get her to give her the power that she had with the cyclone bat. maribeth1966
The 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch will have an end loaded swing weight. You might check out the The 2013 Easton FS2: FP13S2 Fastpitch. It has a -10 drop and will be more balanced.
John H
I have been using the 2013 Easton Alpha: FP13AL Fastpitch bat and I am ready to make the switch over to a composite bat. Which power brigade bat is similar to that bat? I am 16 years old and I am 5'9" and am using the 34" model. softballsam
The 2013 Easton Alpha: FP13AL Fastpitch is a one-piece balanced model comparable to the 2013 Easton FS3: FP13S3 Fastpitch bat. It also is a one-piece design that features a balanced swing weight.
Aubrey
My daughter is currently using the Easton Synergy Speed (2010) 31" 22 oz. It apparently won't be compliant this fall. She is 14, 5'6", about 105 lbs (very thin). She drives the ball hard, but does not have the size for many home runs. I think she would like a drop 10 bat more. What do you recommend? marvelous
The 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch is an end loaded bat and will be better for a power hitter. We recommend a balanced bat like the 2013 Easton FS2: FP13S2 Fastpitch.
Kara
My daughter is a power hitter and is currently using a -12 Mizuno Frenzy SuperLite 31"/19oz. She is 5'1", 106 lbs, and is turning 13. We plan to upgrade her to the -10 Easton FS2. Should she go with the 31"/21 oz or size up to the 32"/22 oz? What do you recommend? geanna
Based on your daughters height and weight I would advise going with the 31" 21 oz. That size is going to be the most common size used for her measurements.
Sean
I am 15 years old and a power hitter. Last year I used a Easton Synergy Speed drop 9. Which bat would you recommend? softball
The 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch is an end loaded bat, a perfect choice for a power hitter.
Kara
My daughter just turned 14 and is in 8th grade, looking forward to HS softball next year. She is a power hitter, extremely strong and quick reflexes (tends to hit long into left field). She is 5'5" and 150 lbs., very muscular and fast, but has mostly stopped growing. She has been using team bats, but we want to get a bat that will really benefit her size and power and that could take her into HS. I am looking at the Easton FX2. Is this a good bat for her? Recommendations for type and size? Thanks! We bought our son (10th grade) an Easton bat last year and he LOVES it. SballBballMom
The 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch is designed for a power hitter. The end loaded design is a great choice for a strong player with quick bat speed.
Kara
My daughter is a high school senior and is a power hitter. What is the difference between the FX1 and FX2 series. She currently hits with a 34" 25 oz. DeMarini, but is heading off to college and needs to start using a Easton. JO
The Easton FX1 is a two-piece fully composite design where the Easton FX2 is a one-piece fully composite design. The following is a link for further comparison http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Aubrey
I currently use a DeMarini CF5 Insane end loaded bat, but need to use an Easton for college next year. Does this bat compare?? JMR
Yes, the 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch will have an end loaded feel just like the DeMarini Insane does.
Noah
Are all fastpitch handles the same size? Paul
Not all fastpitch softball bats have the same handle size. The 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch features an ultra-thin 29/32" handle. Other handle sizes include 7/8" and 31/32", which are slightly thicker.
Marcus
Would the Easton FX2 in a 32" be too much for my 10 year old? She is 5' 2" and roughly 100 lbs. She is fairly strong for her age and I would consider her a power hitter. Matt
Based on her height and weight, a 32" model of the 2013 Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch is the suggested size.
Jason
My daughter was using a friends Stealth bat, 32 inch and really liked it. she is in 8th grade, turning 14 soon. She is a good contact hitter, 5 feet 5 inches 130 lbs. I am looking for a bat for her. do you suggest the FX1 at 33/23 or the FX2 at 32/23? softball dad
For her height and weight she is between a 32" and 33". If you are looking to get a couple of years out of the bat then I would bump her up to a 33". She may need to choke up on the bat until she gets comfortable with the new size. The Easton FX1 and FX2 both use the same IMX composite in the barrel. The difference between the two is that the FX1 is a two-piece full composite design and the FX2 is a one-piece composite design.
John
If I was left handed, 5'10" tall, and a hitter that usually slap hits and bunts, but I can hit very well if needed. Should I get this bat in 33" or 32"? I know I want this bat, I just don't know what size. Jenna
The best way to determine the correct bat size for a player is by their height and weight. However based on your height, we suggest a 33" model in the 2013 Easton FX2 (FP13X2) Fastpitch. For more information on bat sizing check out our bat coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
What is the recommend temperature for these bats not to crack or break. I know they can't be left in the car in the winter I just worry when outdoor practice starts again. don
In order to take care of bats properly, we recommend not storing equipment in temperatures less than 55 degrees Fahrenheit. This will prevent cracking and further damage from happening to the bat.
Merritt
What are the differences between the Easton FX2: FP13X2 Fastpitch and the new 2014 FX2 FP14X2 Fastpitch? Do you know where we can try out bats before we buy them? Madawgison
The Easton FX2 (FP13X2 Fastpitch) and the new 2014 Easton FX2 (FP14X2 Fastpitch) will both provide the same one-piece fully composite design. They both will also provide an end loaded feel that power hitter's love. Dick's or Sports Authority would be a good place to try to swing some before you buy them.
Brandon
I really want the old FP11ST10 34 inch 24 ounce or 33 inch 23 ounce. What bat would you recommend instead of this bat as I can't find it anywhere? Kylie
Either the 2014 Easton FS1 Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP14S1) or the 2015 Easton MAKO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP15MK10) would be closest in terms of overall design and performance to the Easton Stealth Speed Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP11ST10).
