Description

There are 3 constants when it comes to slow pitch players and their bats. They want a bat that's hot out of the wrapper, they're always looking for the next best thing, and they prefer either a balanced or end-loaded design. Raw Power is Easton's answer. The Raw Power line features the B-Series that offers evenly balanced designs for controlled power, and the L-Series that offers end-loaded designs for absolute maximum power. Part of the L-Series, the L4.0 has a specific end-load weight called out at the end of its 12 inch barrel: 26oz = 1oz load, 27oz = 2oz load, 28oz = 3oz load, 30oz = 4oz load. The L4.0 is Brett Helmer's pro model and features Easton's Single System Composite Design. The barrel is constructed from Easton's trademark IMX Composite for an optimal sweet spot and maximum performance, while the handle uses SIC Black Carbon to create the BEST feeling composite bat you'll EVER swing. This handle is wrapped with an ultra-thin gauze grip that is perfect for players that like tack without the bulkiness of many modern grips. The time is now to bring Raw Power to YOUR game. Easton: Engineered for Glory! The L4.0 features the new ASA stamp and is approved for play in only ASA and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton L4.0 Brett Helmer Pro Model Slow Pitch Softball Bat: SP14L4? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I have last years L4.0. When is the 2014 model going to be released and what are the differences from last years model? Norm
We are expecting to receive the 2014 Easton L4.0 Brett Helmer Pro Model (SP14L4) on the 15th of March. We do not have all the specs on the new 2014 model yet, but the only change we have seen so far is that the 2014 L4.0 (SP14L4) will have a full 12 month warranty instead of the 6 month warranty on the 2013 L4.0 (SP13L4).

Is this bat a 12 inch barrel Length or longer 13" or 13 1/2" which I saw on another website? KH
The 2014 Easton L4.0 Brett Helmer Pro Model (SP14L4) will have a 12" barrel length.
Kelby
How does the L4.0 Helmer Pro compare to the Synergy Speed (SRV4)? I'm mostly concerned with the sweet spot on the barrel. I am looking for something along the lines of the Speed over the Salvo. Wery7
The (SRV4) offered a 13.5" barrel length, so the 2014 Easton L4.0 Brett Helmer Pro Model (SP14L4) Slow Pitch bat would not provide the same size sweet spot with its 12" barrel length. Both barrels are made from the IMX Composite material, but this L4.0 would feel more end loaded than the Synergy Speed models. If you're set on Easton, the B3.0 would possibly be a better choice. It's more balanced than the Synergy Speed would be, but the barrel length would be the same.

What is the difference between the SP14 (Green) and the SP13 (White) Brett Helmer bats? Lane
The 2014 Easton L4.0 Brett Helmer Pro Model Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SP14L4) and the SP13L4 are the same bat other than the cosmetic look. The SPL13L4 is the 2013 model and the SP14L4 is the 2014 model.
Jason
I have the old SRV3 Synergy Speed Brett Helmer 12in barrel. Would this be the best replacement? Frank
Yes, the 2014 Easton L4.0 Brett Helmer Pro Model (SP14L4) would be the closest bat in regards to construction and feel to the SRV3 Synergy Speed Brett Helmer Model.
Sean
I am interested in this bat, but want to make sure it is exactly what I want. I previously used an (SRV4) and the (SRV3) and thought the (SRV4) had too much end load for my liking, while I thought the (SRV3) had the perfect amount of end load (in the 26 oz version). Is the 34" 26 oz. L4.0 Brett Helmer right for me (knowing the info above)? Lanco123
The end load in the 2014 Easton L4.0 Brett Helmer Pro Model Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SP14L4) is going to be a bit more pronounced than most Salvo and Synergy models. The L4.0 is going to be the most similar bat in Easton's current product line to either a Synergy or Salvo one-piece model, but we can't guarantee it won't be heavier than you want, as that's pretty subjective. We do have a free UPS returns label for unused items, and don't charge a restocking fee. If you want to check this L4.0 out, and see how it feels, you could send it back for refund/exchange.

What is the difference between the SP14L4 and the SP14L3? Aside from being the Brett Helmer signature model the specs look exactly the same and the bats themselves look exactly the same. What are the differences if any? adrian
The Easton L4.0 Brett Helmer Pro Model (SP14L4) is going to have a one-piece single system composite design. The Easton L3.0 (SP14L3) will feature a two-piece connexion technology. Performance wise they will be very similar. Both models will feature Easton's IMX composite in the barrel.
John
Is my statement true about the L4.0 and the L3.0? The only difference between the L4.0 and the L3.0 is that the L4.0 is a one-piece, and the L3.0 is a two-piece. Nick
You're correct. Both the Easton L3.0 and 2014 Easton L4.0 Brett Helmer Pro Model Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SP14L4) models are made from the IMX and SIC Composite materials, are certified for play in ASA, and feature end loaded swing weights. The difference in design would be that the L3.0 is the two-piece model, and the L4.0 is the one-piece model. Choosing between these designs really depends on your preference between one- and two-piece models.
Mac
What is the difference in performance between the SP14L4 and the new end-loaded ASA Salvo? Other than the handle made of SIC Black Carbon for comfort they seem like they would perform the same. Zero
The performance of the Easton L4.0 Brett Helmer Pro Model Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SP14L4) and the 2015 Easton Salvo Comp Loaded ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SP15SVA) should be very similar. The major difference would be the handle material which will affect feel more than the performance of the barrel.
Patrick
What type of ball is this bat best for? I know the Flipper is designed for .52 and it says hitting the .44 will end the bat's life faster. tony
The Easton L4.0 Brett Helmer Pro Model Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SP14L4) is an ASA bat which means that it is designed to hit the .52/300 softballs. Hitting the .44/375 softballs will negatively impact the bats lifespan.
