Description

Every year, Easton unveils the latest game changing technology that revolutionizes baseball bats to enhance and compliment player performance. Expect nothing less from Easton this season with the new MAKO TORQ. The MAKO TORQ combines power with a new genius twist: a 360 Torq Handle. This never before seen handle rotates to promote a fully extended swing, with the top palm facing down, and the bottom palm facing up. By allowing the wrists to move freely, the MAKO TORQ technology gets the barrel to the zone faster and keeps it in the zone longer, allowing the hitter to square up for more pitches, more often with explosive power. There is no doubt the MAKO TORQ is way ahead of the competition, providing players with an increasingly important edge to stay on top! Easton added the 360 TORQ handle to their high end MAKO baseball bat. The two-piece, composite design is equipped with the same powerful technologies such as Easton's TCT Thermo Composite Technology and their ConneXion Technology. TCT Thermo Composite is engineered to provide top-notch players two major benefits: unmatched bat speed and a massive sweet spot. ConneXion Technology maximizes energy transfer for an optimized feel. To provide baseball players with a world-class feel, Easton also included their gauze grip to provided added comfort, and durability. There is a reason why champions swing Easton as they never settle for the ordinary! Easton is Sports Engineering! The Easton MAKO TORQ is USSSA Certified and features the 1.15 BPF stamp on the barrel. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping Included!

Alot of Hype Coach A coach

Pros: It is an Easton. Quality usually isn't terrible, and if it is you have a great warranty. It will help you stay in the zone longer.

Cons: This is a hitting tool, and bat in one. There are plenty of cheaper hitting devises available that help with your hands rolling over. Having a "Torq" handle will also not help you get to the ball quicker, getting to the ball quicker simply means getting the knob of the bat to the ball, and a rotating handle does not help with that. I honestly do not see top level teams, IE College, high school, even AAA, Major teams using this bat at all.

Solid Bat BZ coach

Pros: Much more solid than the 2014 Mako. Much quieter also. Make a nice crack sound rather than the loud ping. Dont fear all the reviews where people are saying it messing up swings. Its probably correcting them. If proper grip is taught then this bat would not be needed. The handle doesnt turn as easy as one would think but does work. The ball exit speed is good. I was able to land a -5 for a great price which is why I got it.

Cons: The price point is high and could probably use better grip tape.

Better than I thought! baseball dad parent

Pros: Bought this bat for my son recently. Always wanted him to try out the torq and once I saw the price drop on last years model I jumped on it. He's been swinging the torq for about two weeks now and I've gotta say the initial results have been great so far. The ball seems to jump off this bat and had a great wood-like crack sound when you square one up, no loud ping. As far as the turning handle goes, it doesn't move as much as you would think which is fine by me. I was concerned that it would move too much, but it doesn't. For the price you absolutely cant go wrong with this bat.

Cons: The grip is a little uncomfortable, thin and hard. I actually put a lizard grip over the original grip in two pieces and now the feel is fantastic.

Mako Torq review Mike Conder parent

Pros: This bat has a tremendous amount of pop. It is easy to handle and just slightly end loaded. We have the CF7 and the Torq has a little bit more load but not as much as the VooDoo we use. Great bat for the discounted price.

Cons: The handle is a bit small. We replaced the current tape on handle and added a lizard skin tape. This is now our go to bat.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15MK5T? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

My son is just going to a -5 this year. He is 6'2" and 170 lbs. What length do you recommend? Diane
The 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK5T) will likely be too light for a player of his size. We would recommend looking at the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15MKT) in a 33" 30 oz. model.
Joe
Is this bat end-loaded or balanced? Coach Lonnie
The 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK5T) has a balanced swing weight.
Jason
My son is 12 years old and weighs 75 lbs. and is 60" tall. What size bat should he swing? He needs a drop -5 bat. ly
Based on the height and weight of your son I would suggest going with a 30" bat. While the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK5T) is a very nice bat you will probably want to look into something a little more balanced. Something along the lines of the 2015 Easton S1 (SL15S110), 2015 Rawlings VELO (SLRV5), or the 2015 DeMarini Vexxum (DXVX5) would all be good options.
Jake
Does this bat have the same sound to it as the -5 XL1? g man
The 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK5T) should have a similar sound and feedback compared to the 2015 Easton XL1 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X15).
Patrick
What Easton bat would you recommend for a 13 year old contact hitter? baseball
The 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15MK5T would be a very good option for a 13 year old contact hitter. Some other Easton bats that would be a good option would be the Easton MAKO, S1, S2, or the S3. All of these bats are balanced models which is good for a contact hitter.
Cooper
Does it come in a stiff shaft? gmoney
The bats do not have differing stiffness or a part that would be considered the shaft. The handle has a flex to it but the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK5T) only has one type of flex rather than the option to customize it.
Patrick

Leagues often have different rule sets varying from area to area. So whether the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK5T) would be allowed would be based on your local rules. It would be best to check with a league official or coach prior to purchasing.

The 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15MK5T is not top heavy. it is a balanced bat that is well suited for all types of hitters.

Is this 2015 Mako Torq bat legal in a 13/14 year old Pony league baseball where composite barrels are not allowed, however, the S series bats were allowed? The details say composite? Dan
The 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK5T) is a composite barrel bat that is not BBCOR certified so it would be allowed in the Pony division (11-14) but not in the Colt (13-16) or Palomino (15-18) divisions.
Patrick
Is this allowed in 13u travel ball if not what is? dnd
There are many different leagues throughout the country that are considered travel ball leagues. They all have different rules and restrictions. It would be best to ask a coach or league official about whether the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK5T) would be allowed or if they have any barrel diameter, barrel material, or drop weight restrictions in your league's bat rules.
Patrick
Would it be to heavy for a 12U travel league? nate
Whether the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK5T) would be too heavy for the player would be dependent on the player's strength and development. Most players around that age would more typically use a -8, -9, or -10 bat.
Patrick
My son is 12 years old, almost 13 and is swinging a -5. Im interested in the Mako Torq. Should I go with a 31/26 or 32/27? He is about 5"3 and weighs 140. Thanks Tony
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15MK5T in a 31 inch 26 oz. model.
Cameron
My MAKO TORQ handle isn't spinning easily. What do I do? jaden
The handle on the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15MK5T will feature the ability to rotate during the course of the swing/follow through. When holding, one should be able to rotate this bottom portion of the handle with little effort. If handle only rotates after applying sufficient effort then this handle may have become defective and should be referred to Easton for warranty.
Cameron
My son is 13 years old. He is 5'1" and weighs around 100 pounds. What size and weight bat of this model would you recommend? Also, he isn't a power hitter but a base hitter. Is this a bat for any kind of hitter? Kelli
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 31" 26 oz model in the Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15MK5T. The MAKO TORQ features a balanced swing weight and it is typically preferred by contact hitters, but it can work for any type of hitter.
Jason

My son's Easton MAKO 2014 bat was too top heavy. Is this about the same bat. Should he use it? ev
All Easton MAKO bats are technically designed to be balanced in their swing weight (unless listed as a MAKO XL model), however, we do get some customers saying that the bats feel slightly end-loaded to them. I might recommend avoiding a MAKO model if you didn't enjoy the feel of the MAKOs in the past. If you want a model from Easton that might feel more balanced swinging, I'd recommend viewing the 2016 Easton S500 (SL16S5005) over this Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK5T).
Ben
I am 12 years old, 5' 5" and 114 lbs. I need a heavier bat. Do you guys have any idea what I should buy? big papi
Based upon your height and weight, I bet that you could swing a 31" length of a Youth Big Barrel/Senior league bat. If you feel that you can handle the 26 oz weight of the 31" model of this Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK5T), then I might recommend this bat in that size.
