Pros: This is a great bat for the price. Lots of pop and the bat is well weighted for 19.5 oz. My son was hitting immediately with the reflex and it also looks cool.

Cons: Adhesive tape around handle started coming loose after a week. Otherwise perfect!!!

Fabulous

Pros: This bat has lots of pop!! My son is hitting shots with this bat. The first weekend he used it in a tournament he had an inside the park homer and a double that went between 260-280 ft. Great performance for the price. Great looking bat too.

Cons: That beautiful paint job gets tarnished pretty quickly once the bat is in use. Because of the shinny black color, skuff marks from the baseballs get left on the bat fairly quickly

Pros: This is actually a quality bat. Lots of pop and strong shots. We've had one each revision from 2005. Easton did something right with this bat.

Cons: Most people feel that due to the cost this isn't a quality bat. This bat actually produces better than the price catigory.

Reflex John Dough player

Pros: Great looking bat and decent pop. The grip seems to form in your hands. I used this bat last season and got some use out of it. Pop faded away after a year though. Good bang for your buck.

Cons: On cold days, (I live in Minnesota) you could really feel the vibration even when I was wearing batting gloves. Only lasts a season until the pop fades away.

Hard to Argue against this bat Brian coach

Pros: The problem most youth have isn't the wrong MOI or POP or drop weight or endless marketing spin bat. The problem is they don't swing correctly and, hence, are not making solid contact with the ball. And, at the risk of being the bearer of bad news, dropping $100 or $300 on a composite-two-piece-weight-ended-sweet-paint-job bat isn't going to change that fact. They need reps at the plate, cage work and mechanic work. And the Easton Reflex works just as well as any bat for that at a serious fraction of the cost. Ask yourself this: Is my player consistently, at the plate, hitting the ball hard. If not, then this bat is going to be just as good as anything else you drop money on. If he or she is, and your player is consistently hitting the ball hard then dropping $200+ on the XL1 or Mako or Vexxum and so on might make sense. For the record, I'd guess the higher end bats, once broken in, add about 10 to 15% on any given hit in the sweet spot. 200ft to 220/230.

Cons: The handle wrap has some issues, but that isn't difficult to replace as need be. The paint job could be cooler. But, remember, Easton knows this bat is good as they've been selling it for years with 0 upgrades or improvements. They don't need a sweet paint job on the bat. Pop, Sweet Spot all score good marks. If, and only if, you player is consistently making hard contact with the ball do things like pop and sweet spot really matter. Durability seems decent (we've had a few of these bats over the last 3 years). But the boys outgrow bats at this age so quickly that it's hard to really see their 'durability' past a season or two. But who needs a 3 year durability on a youth bat?

Brandon
I am 4'10 and weigh 85 pounds, what bat size would be best? Shawn
In the BX83 I recommend the 31" 22.5 oz bat according to the information you gave us.
Zach
Could a 5'7", 155 lb. 15 year old use the 31" model of this bat? Breece
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" Easton Reflex (BX83). Typically, you want to swing the longest and heaviest bat that you can comfortably and consistently control. Sizing is preferential so if you prefer a 31" bat, that is definitely something to take into account as well. Also, with you being 15, I would also recommend going with a BBCOR bat, if you can. A great option would be the Easton Reflex BBCOR (BX81).
Tessa
Can a 5'3" boy weighing 110 lbs. use this? cfink15
The Easton Reflex (BX83) Senior League is a balanced bat and can be used for a player your size.

I am 5'5" and weigh 120 pounds. Do you think I should be swinging the 30 inch model of this bat? Aaron
Based on your approximate height and weight, I would suggest 31" in the Easton Reflex Senior League Baseball Bat: (BX83).
Merritt
I'm 5' and weight 117 lbs, I play 13U Little League baseball, do you think this is a good bat for me? speedy valdez
Yes, based on your height, weight and league, I think that the Easton Reflex (BX83) would be a very good option for you.
Sean
Is this a good bat for power hitters? Does it have very good pop? speedy valdez
The Easton Reflex Senior League Baseball Bat (BX83) would be a good model for a power hitter due to its stiffer flex and one-piece alloy design. The "pop" or performance would be more dependent on the hitters ability rather than a feature of the bat but it will be up to all specifications for the 1.15 BPF (Bat Performance Factor) standard.
Patrick
Is this bat light? big papi
The Easton Reflex Senior League Baseball Bat (BX83) would be considered a moderately weighted senior league bat. It has a -8.5 length to weight ratio. There are only two length to weight ratios that would be heavier in the senior league category. Those are -8.5 and -5. It is a balanced bat so it would have a fairly light swing considering its weight.
Patrick
What age group is this bat for? Rock
The age group that would use the Easton Reflex Senior League Baseball Bat (BX83) can vary. It would potentially be used by any player that is allowed to use a big barrel bat that does not need it to be BBCOR certified.
