Description

The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The S1 features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: My 11U boy (a 10 year old) was a doubles hitting machine with this bat in his first tournament using it. Because it was brand new, he hadn't even had time to take the recommended couple of hundred hits to "break it in", yet he was clearly the tournament MVP. Had a double in each game (x4) including over the head of the CF right out of the wrapper. I can't imagine how hard this is going to hit once its broken in!

Cons: Price $$$.

Pros: Amazing bat. My son is 4'8 and 80lbs. He has the 30 inch and it seems lighter than 20oz. Plenty of bat swing, break-in time was short. More pop than the Demarini C5. Easily the best bat he has swung.

Cons: Very expensive - but well worth it if your son plays alot of baseball.

Pros: Bat is great! Son is 86lb 9yr old and got the 30/20 for xmas. This bat has a ton of pop and the handle seems much better than last years small barrel S1. No stingers yet! Son is smoking the ball!

Cons: Its expensive but when the performance is compared to cheaper bats its about right! You pay for what you get!

Pros: Looks good.

Cons: Dead bat. Would not break in. $300 is way to much. Son was struggling all year hitting with it. 20% less pop than teammates various bats. Switched to teammates bat, and almost immediately moved up the lineup, eventually to 4th. Terrible value for the high cost. Note: Bat is not cracked or broken. It is very solid. There is just almost no sweet spot whatsoever. Talked to a father who bought son the same model, and he had similar things to say about the bat.

Pros: Just purchased this bat for 10 year old. Had the Easton S2 last year, and it did an amazing job. Went with the big barrel S1 for this season, and the bat is popping in the cages. Very lightweight for a -10, very balanced. Tried out the CF5, but this bat is much better for bat speed. Cannot wait to see what it does on the field this spring!

Cons: Handle length is a bit short, but no need to choke up on bat. Yellow bottom half of grip will get dirty quick, but that adds character to the bat.

Pros: PHENOMENAL Bat! Superb pop, great balance and huge sweet spot. Used 2012 version of S1 for full season with amazing results! Compared 2012 version AND now 2013 version with 2013 CF5 - tough choice as both bats are fantastic. Bottom line, went with the S1 both years because of results!! S1 hit the ball with more pop on off-center hits. Hit either bat on the sweet spot and marvel at the results. Son landed more base hits with the S1 when hit slightly off the sweet spot (breaking ball, change up, 0-2 inside, etc.). One or two "extra" hits each week due to this fact will raise a batting average 100+ points over the length of a 50 game season. That's what makes this bat worth the $300!

Cons: None

Pros: Great Bat, dirty sweet spot! I purchased a 28" 18 oz. for my 5 year old son (4'3" 60lbs). Kills batting practice and looks forward to his Shetland games! His previous bat was the Combat B3 27" 15 oz. The weight is about the same. The S1 has a longer barrel so it's end heavy compared to the B3. Both purchased from just bats, both were well worth the money!

Cons: Other players and parents will be jealous and envious when they see this bat in your hand! You've been warned...

Pros: Yesterday after finding out my bat wasn't a bpf 1.15 we had to buy a new bat before our next game. We went to our store and picked this bat up and right off the bat comparing it the the DeMarini Voodoo, I might have got this bat had a lot better balance. Right after taking it out of the wrapper I hit the ball to center field and got a double. Has no vibration what so ever. Great grip. The weight is just perfectly balanced. This bat hit better than my non bpf bat! I recommend this bat to anyone!

Cons: Bottom grip gets dirty quick but doesn't affect hitting.

Pros: got the s1 29 -10 for my ten year old grandson he is 4 ft 6 inches 68 lbs, 2nd game hit a nice line drive to right and line drive, double to left center. big difference, ball comes off the bat a lot faster and goes a lot farther. Well balanced for bat speed with a lot of pop, wish I would of bought sooner. we put about 140 hits on it to start the break in process. I recommend this bat. Now other players want to use it.

AR Travel Dad

Pros: The bat is easy to swing. My 11 year old, 4'11" 86 lbs., was an S3 29" 19 oz. He moved up to 30" 20 oz. The difference between the S3 and S1 is embarrassing. The S1 is a beast. One home run over 225 ft. in center. The sound is jaw dropping when you hit it on the sweet spot. Most of the team is fighting to use it. Worth every dime!!! We have always stayed away from Easton until this year, but this the best bat used in 5 years of travel ball.

Cons: Wish I would have gotten it sooner.

Pros: Quality of the bat on all Easton products

Cons: Too light! I purchased this bat for my 10yo son. He is a power hitter and loves the XL1. Since it was out of stock we tried the S1 and were disappointed. Perfect for hitters who want to increase their bat speed not the right fit for power hits. Exchanged for the S2 until XL1 is available.

Pros: This bat is legit. Plenty of pop straight out of the box. My son is 6 years old 55 lbs and is banging balls all over field. It takes some time to adjust swinging a bigger bat but once he made contact his confidence went thru the roof. 100% satisfied with this purchase and product.

Cons: Only bad thing is some kids my sons age are not strong enough to use the bat or get tired swinging this bat.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL13S110? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

When is the bat going to be available? BigJohn
The 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League bat will have a release date of November 15, 2012.
Brandon
Besides graphics, what's the difference between the 2012 and 2013 models? Frank
Besides the graphics the 2012 and 2013 Easton S1 Senior League models will be the same with the exception of an upgraded composite material in the handle to reduce vibration.
Damon
Because the 2013 Easton S1 is composite does it have a date when the composite expires??? If it does when would that be big guns
There is not date in which the composite will expire on the Easton S1.
Tyler
Does the 2013 Easton S1 have a break in period? If so how long is it? big guns
Yes, the 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League requires a break-in period. You should take approximately 150 to 200 soft toss swings or hits off a tee, rotating the barrel a quarter inch every swing to break in the composite materials.
John
I am lookin to purchase the 2013 Easton S1 (32in 22oz)i would like to know if it needs to be broken in since it is composite. If the composite does need to be broken in how long does it take. hr
The Easton S1 is a composite bat that requires a break-in period of 150-200 hits off a tee. Start at about 40% power, gradually increase, and be sure to rotate the bat a half inch in your hands between each hit.
Tyler
I'm most likely going to buy the 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League Bat and I would like to know what exactly "breaking in the composite means/does? big guns
The 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League will be a Two-Piece all composite designed bat. We suggest to break-in this bat you take soft toss or tee work at around 100-200 swings before any heavy game use. By breaking in the composite fibers you won't see any damage to the bat and the performance will tend to be much higher. Over time, the more swings you put on this bat the better it will perform. It will act as a trampoline effect. Where as an Aluminum Alloy barrel bat will be the best right out of the wrapper and slowly lose its pop over time.
Brandon
Because the 2013 Easton S1 doesnt have the little notches on the end cap to show where to rotate it on each hit like the s2 and s3, how do i know where to rotate it to while breaking in the composite? big guns
All you have to do is rotate the bat a half inch between each hit. You do not have to be exactly at a half inch as it does not matter if you're off by a little bit.
Tyler
Trying to decide between the S and the XL series. Son uses the 2 1/4 S1 need big barrel. Trying to decide which one. Rich
If he has above average strength and swing speed, a bat in the XL Series is recommended. If he has average to below average strength and swing speed, a bat in the S Series is recommended.
Tyler
What is the difference from the 2012 S1 to the 2013 S1? tdturn
The new 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 uses new compoiste technology in the handle of the bat for better durability.
Kara
Why is the S1 2 1/4 a -12 and the S1 Big Barrel a -10? Is there going to be a difference feel when my son switches to the big barrel this year? John D
Big barrel bats are almost always going to be heavier models than youth small barrel bat. Big barrel bats have more surface area for contact and a larger sweetspot.
Tyler
I was mistaken in my last question. My son is 59 inches and 81 pounds. Do you this bat size 32 and 22 ounces be a good fit for him? April
Based on his height and weight, a 30" model of the 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League bat is recommended.
Tyler
My 10 year old son is 5'5 inches tall and 70 pounds. He is a very good contact hitter with average power. Should we be looking at the S or XL models? Thx. Phil
The Easton S1 is balanced and designed for the contact hitter, whereas the Easton XL1 is more end loaded and designed for a power hitter. Therefore the S1 would be the better bat for you.
Damon
My son is 12 years old. 5'6" and weighs 106 pounds with clothes on. He really would like a big barrel composite bat for travel ball in the spring, plus one that he can continue on with after little league. My son is a good contact hitter and can get into one now and then. Currently tending to be hitting a lot of ground balls with his DeMarini Voodoo 31 inch. Which big barrel bat (size, weight, make) should I be looking at with the Easton. He really wants the new XL1, but I think a drop 5 might be too heavy. Help!! E
That's difficult for us to answer without first knowing the length and weight of his current bat. You can either email us at support@justbats.com, or call us at 1-866-321-2287.
Tyler
is this a big barrel zaya
The SL13S110 is a youth big barrel model, with a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter. Here is the link to view more details on this model. http://www.justbats.com/product/2013-easton-s1--sl13s110-senior-league/15971/
Derek
My son is 11 and currently using a 2011 Demarini Vendetta C6. He is a solid contact hitter. Looking at the 2013 S1. Looking for an opinion on which would be better? Pros and cons. Rick
The Easton S1 uses the high performing IMX Composite, and doesn't have any major cons. It would be a great choice for a contact hitter.
Zach
My son is playing USSSA 13u next spring. When buying a bat, what are the dimensions we should look for? His bat that we bought from JustBats was an Omen 31/21 2 5/8 barrel. What barrel and drop should we be looking for? Thanks jwil
A good size for a 13 year old would be a 31/23. Or, if he is strong enough he could swing a 31/26.
Zach
Is this bat particularly lighter than the actual weight, for example, if last year I used a 30" 20 oz. and that is very light, will that be too light for me? b
The 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League bat will swing true to it's weight. There are some sizing options available. We currently have the 30" 20 oz. and the 31" 21 oz. If you were in the 30" last year I would think about the 31" this season.
Brandon
We have been using the Rival 2010 bat for the last two years and they are all dented up. Now we need a new bat. We love the pop of the Rival but cannot find a replacement. I have an 8 year old who is a great contact hitter just not a power hitter. I am looking for a bat that will be the same or better than the Rival. Is this the right bat? Dave
The Easton S3: SL11S310 Senior League replaced the RIval. Normally one-piece bats like the Rival and S3 are better suited for power hitters. However, if he has had great success with the Rival, we would recommend the S3. The 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League is designed for contact hitters.
Kara
My son is going to be playing for his middle school team, is this legal? Jj
Depends on what association the league is governed by. Some require the USSSA 1.15 stamp (which this has), while others require BBCOR certification (which this does not have). It would be best to check with your son's coach for bat requirements.
Patrick
I am looking for a Easton bat for my 13 year old. Most of guys on his team are ordering -5 bat. I do not see that offering 31"-5 Can you help me? Ron Sikes
Here are all the -5 Easton bats: http://www.justbats.com/products/baseball%20bats~youth%20big%20barrel/length%20to%20weight%20ratio~-%205/vendor~easton/
Tyler
My 10 year old used the DeMarini Vexxum in a 30/20 in Summer 9u and Fall 10u. He is a contact hitter with average power. Would you recommend the S or the XL for him in Spring 10u and should he stay at 30/20? Thanks in advance. JT
The DeMarini Vexxum and the Easton XL1 are both end loaded, better designed for a contact hitter with some power. If he needs quicker bat speed we would recommend a more balanced bat like the 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League. The length and weight of the bat is best determined by the height and weight of the player. Our bat coach is an excellent tool; http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Kara
Can't make up my mind between the this bat and the S3 2 3/4. My son has the last year's S1 2 1/4 but can move to a big barrel this year. What do you think? Larry
The S1 is recommended as it is always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.
Tyler
My son is 7 yrs. old and 49 and half inches tall. He plays travel ball on a 9U team. Would you recommend S1 2 5/8 senior bat or a S1 2 1/4 little league bat? He is a contact hitter. Jesse
Both the Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League bat and the Easton S1: YB13S1 Youth bat are two-piece fully composite designs that feature balanced swing weights. They are both suited for a contact hitter. I would recommend checking what barrel diameter is legal for the league that he plays in.
Aubrey
Does this swing lighter than the CF5? My son has the gold 29" 19 oz. CF5 and I am looking at either the new 2013 CF5 or S1 in a 30" 20 oz. Lilmill
The 2013 Easton S1 is a very balanced and light swinging model. Both the DeMarini CF5 and the Easton S1 are very comparable when it comes to performance and balance.
Nick
My son is growing like a weed. He used the Easton Omen IMX Composite 28" 18 oz. last year. He's 5' 85 pounds. What do you suggest? Blaze
If your son enjoyed the Easton Omen, then the 2013 Easton S1 would be a great choice. It is the model that replaced the Omen, so it is going to be very similar in terms of performance and balance.
Nick
Is it legal in Babe Ruth baseball for ages 13-15? Fry Cook
No, the 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League bat is not allowed in Babe Ruth ages 13-15. All composite barrel bats for that league must be BBCOR certified. Here is a link to the BBCOR certified model http://www.justbats.com/product/2013-easton-s1-bbcor--bb13s1-adult/15981/
Aubrey
Is this approved for little league 2013 50-70'division? BM
The 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 is not legal at any level in Little League.
Tyler
Is this bat legal for 2013 Pony baseball at the Bronco age level? Hilobomber
The 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League is legal in 2013 Pony League at the Bronco age level.
Katie
Does this bat meet 2012 NFHS rules? Baseball Dad
The 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League bat does not meet standards set forth for high school baseball. All high school player must use a BBCOR certified drop three (-3) bat. The 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League bat is a drop ten (-10) bat. It is too light in weight to be used in high school play.
Robert
I put a 28/18 S1 on an accurate scale and it weighed nearly 20 oz, while the Combat B4 was a true 18 oz. I notcied this with last year's S3 also. Why does Easton do this? ngzone
This is common with many manufacturers. Easton, along with many others weigh their bats before the final stages of production and bats can weigh a little more than advertised because of this.
Tyler
Is this bat legal for the Junior division? D
The 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League is USSSA certified, so it is legal for little league play.
Frank
12 yr old 4'7" 70 lbs. Swung an Easton Omen 2 1/4" 30" 18 oz. last year. Would the S1 2 5/8 30" 20 oz. be the next acceptable upgrade? We are looking at DeMarini CF5 as well. Is one better than other? Thanks! dave
The 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League replaced the Easton Omen. It will have upgraded composite materials and will be more balanced than the Easton Omen. The DeMarini CF5 is also balanced. They are both excellent choices.
Kara
My son is 9. Which Easton bat is appropriate for his age? He is a solid hitter. He has swung a 28/18 prodigy for the last 3 years. tim
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Thus, the Easton S3 is recommended as it is most similar to the Prodigy in terms of construction and balance.
Tyler
Will you ship to Australia? Rerun
Unfortunately we do not ship outside of the United States.
Marcus
My son is 9. He plays travel ball and little league and last year played around 65 games. He used TPX Catalyst 28" 18 oz. last year. I am looking for a better bat that will increase bat speed and power. He is 4' 3" and around 60 lbs he is small but hits hard. Is this the best bat out for him or what else would you recommend? coach
With your son's given weight and size we suggest a 28" bat. If you want to add bat speed over time you could go with a 29" 19 oz. bat. The 2013 Easton S1 is a great bat and is perfect for him. It's low M.O.I. generates speed and equals power.
Chad M.
How do I break in the 2013 Easton S1. 33/30. -3. The best way possible? I'm 6'2 154 pounds. Please help. AnthonyS1
To break in the 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 we recommend taking 150-200 hits off of soft-toss or a tee.Start at about 40% power and gradually increase as you get closer to the 150 swing mark. Rotate the bat a quarter of an inch between each hit to ensure an even break-in. We also recommend to use real, leather baseballs.
Kara

Mac

Aubrey
Please explain the difference between the three Easton bats. The S1, S2, S3. My son is 11 and looking to move up to a 30 inch bat but I don't want one that is too heavy to compromise speed, but still give him good pop. He is a contact hitter with light power. Mike
The Easton S1 is a two-piece composite bat. The Easton S2 is a two-piece bat with a composite handle and an alloy barrel and the Easton S3 is a one-piece alloy bat. The S1 or the S2 will be best for your son because of the two-piece balanced design.
Noah
what would you prefer for a power hitter that wants a fast swing speed but still has enough power to bring in out of the ballpark? the 2014 demarini paradox or the easton s1 32 inches for both bats thank you! BASEBALL FANATIC
The 2013 Easton S1 Senior League is more for line driver contact hitters. The DeMarini Voodoo Paradox is end loaded and is designed only for power hitters.
Chad M.
My son is 10 years old 4'9" 70 lbs. Will this bat give him the best swing speed? B
The 2013 Easton S1 is one of the fastest swinging bats we offer. It would be a great choice for your son.
Justin R
Can you compare this DeMarini to the Easton S1 and the Marucci Elite. I have an 11 year old contact hitter that needs bat speed and does not want a heavy bat. What's my best option between the three? Which will give him more pop and power while not slowing his swing and feeling heavier? Mike
2013 Easton S1 Senior League is the speed series. The S series brings speed which adds power to your son's game. The Easton fits the mold of what you are looking for.
Chad M.
My son is 11 is 5'3" & 130lbs. Hits with power, and also has a high avg. I've been told to go to a 31" or 32" bat -8 - Your thoughts? Unsure
Most is going to come down to the size bat he is currently using as swing speed with said bat. Based on his size, a 31" model of the 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 would be more common.
Tyler
Is it legal in Pony baseball? manny
Yes. The 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 is approved for play in Pony.
Tyler
What's the difference in the YB13S1 and the SL13S1? My son is 6 years old. He is 4' tall and 50 lbs. He currently uses the 2011 Easton Rival XXL 27" 17 oz. Which would be a better fit for him? deuces
The 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League bat will be a Senior League model with a big 2 5/8" barrel. It will come in a -10 length to weight size. The YB13S1 will be the same bat design in a Youth version with a smaller 2 1/4" barrel diameter. It will come with a -12 length to weight ratio. At 6 years old he should probably be using the -12 Youth Easton S1.
Brandon

Tyler

The Easton XL1 is end loaded and is more for a power hitter than the Easton S1. The Easton S1 is more for the contact line driver player.
Chad M.

Kara
I understand it takes between 150-200 balls to break in the Easton S1. But once the bat is broken-in, can you use it in batting cages with the yellow balls? Will this kill the pop? KR
We do not recommend using any bat, including the 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League, with those yellow "dimple" cage balls. Those balls are much more dense than a baseball, and could damage or reduce the useful life of your bat.

I'm debating between this in 31" 21 oz, or the CF5 in the same size. I'm a contact hitter, but bat 3rd because I get hits to the outfield which drives in runs. I know both bats are very similar in terms of balance, pop, and durability. Please say what I would do better with. dabomb
The Easton S1 and the DeMarini will both be very similar bats in every aspect, but the Easton S1 will probably work better for you.
