Description

Easton truly believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power. However, the road to power hitting is different for every player. Some players need extra bat speed to reach their full power potential, while others need more weight and a bigger barrel. That's why Easton is changing the game this season and taking an approach to bats that no other manufacturer has ever tried before. Introducing the POWER Brigade; Two series, one distinct result. Whether you prefer the fast swinging Speed Series or the heavier extended barrel XL Series, POWER will be your outcome. Forget flashy designs and gimmicky names, these bats produce RESULTS. The Speed Series (S1, S2, S3) features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and generate more power. On the other side of the spectrum, the XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) features extra long barrels designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing. Easton really does strive to fulfill the preferences of any type of player as both series come in two-piece IMX Composite designs (S1 and XL1), two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Aluminum hybrid designs (S2 and XL2), and one-piece THT100 Aluminum designs (S3 and XL3). As for the materials, Easton's patented IMX Composite has proven to be one of the highest performing materials in the game year after year, while THT100 Aluminum provides superior dent and crack resistance. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology and you have a new line of bats that is second to none. Easton: We Believe In Power! This bat features the USSSA 1.15 stamp and is approved for play in and beyond. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: More pop out of the wrapper than the Omen, nice finish, holding up well after two tourneys (10 games).

Cons: Rubber sticker on the barrell cap fell off during first session. Yellow grip gets dirty quick, should have been all black.

Pros: well balanced bat. I was surprised with amount of pop out of wrapper. Great sound for a composite bat(Ping). Composite material seems to be stronger than that of other manufacturers. Cant wait to see how it does when it is broken in.

Cons: yes it is pricey, but worth it if it holds up to 10 games a week in select ball.

Pros: This bat is the best new bat on the market. The sound of the ball hitting this bat is sweet. The other bats sound weak. The pop is awesome. Do yourself a favor and stop looking. This is the top bat around. Easton customer service is also top notch. I had a bat break last year and they were awesome. They will give you the service you deserve for buying a $300 bat.

Cons: Every parent is wanting their sons to try my bat.

Pros: Like many parents, we have been looking for a new bat, since USSSA essentially forced everybody's hand in 2012. Our sense of urgency was compounded when my 11yo player broke his 2011 Catalyst in half during batting practice. He has been thrilled with the S1. Amazing pop, great balance, and a massive sweet spot. Everybody on the team who can hit a 31/21, wants to hit this bat.

Cons: As expected with a composite bat, performance drops with the temperature. We will use a teammate's S3 when temps drop below 60.

Pros: This is like a bam, bam bat - the drop 10 is allowed in his 8u travel team but the barrel is to wide for his in-house league - (but cares about in-house). 28/18 2 5/8 for my 8u player is so good it's silly. Hot right out of the store, no break in time required, has a nice loud ping and the ball has nice jump. My son does not want to touch his 28/18 2 1/4 anymore, as he can get this one around just the same.

Cons: Other parents think it's unfair and the monster hit's are due only to the bat.

Pros: The bat has a nice balanced feel and the best pop off the bat that we have experienced. My son is on the smaller side so I usually look for extra light bats so he can get it through the zone. The lower M.O.I. is allowing my son to swing a bigger bat with better results.

Cons: Price...

Pros: None!

Cons: This is the worst bat Ive ever had from Easton. My son is a power hitter on a very good traveling team. This bat is over rated. Son can not hit with any distance with this bat. Waste of $300! Bat is not as balanced as the Rival my son used last year. Searched and found a USSA stamped Easton Rival XXL: BG10XL Senior League so he will be using that the rest of the year .. The Rival is a awesome bat.

Pros: Looks and feels cool.

Cons: Waste of money Rival XL had more pop. My son had to have this bat when it first came out. He used Rival xl last season and hit tremendously. He needed the usssa stamp and wanted to go to a composite bat so we bought it when it first came out for $300. In practice pre-season he hit great with it. The bat has lost its pop he has trouble getting it out of the infield now 2 months later. Switched back to his rival and the ball comes off the bat so much faster and is hitting deep balls again. Very disappointing nothing but a $300 trophy now.

The Big Dog

Pros: SUPERB Bat! Amazing pop swing after swing--even out of wrapper. Great balance to weight ratio allows for faster bat speed. Sounds like aluminum vs composite. This bat is for better hitters and likely not well suited for the average to below average hitter. Side note: If you want a "pretty" bat with a nice paint job and graphics rather than a piece of high-end equipment that performs game after game, look elswhere. Reviews of chiped paint and end caps are a joke. A bat that is menat for a serious ball player is designed to hit the baseball as well as possible. Paint chips and color have NOTHING to do with performance. If your youth ball player--or you--are worried more about his image than his performance, find another bat, and possibly sport. Play ball!

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL11S110? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this bat good for a contact hitter? Evizzy24
Yes. This bat will be a good choice. Both types of hitters can use this bat due to the composite materials. Some power hitters may like a one-piece design.
KG
Does this bat come in aluminum or just composite? Bill
The Easton S1 will be composite only. The S2 will have an alloy barrel and composite handle, the S3 will be all alloy.
KG
Is the barrel length similar to Easton Omen size? DJ
The Easton S1 is the replacement model for the Omen model. They both will have similar sweet spots.
Linda
S1,Cf5. What is the better bat? Evizzy24
Both the Easton S1 and the Demarini CF5 are going to be a two piece composite design. The Easton S1 is going to be a very well balanced model while the CF5 model is going to have a slight end load.
Linda
What are the differences between the S1 and the 2012 Omen? Waz
They are actually made the same, both have the low MOI for the faster bat speed, both are 2 piece composites. Both have awesome pop. So really it's your preference.
Linda
Is this the best bat on the market? If not what is? Evizzy24
Impossible to say which is best, since each bat aids different types of batters. The play to the batters strengths and weaknesses. So depending on the batting ability of your player, determines the bat best for him.
Linda
Do you make this same bat with a 2 3/4" barrel? Andy
The Easton S1 is only made in a 2 5/8" barrel diameter. The Easton S3 is the only one in the Speed Series that will feature the 2 3/4" barrel.
Linda
Is this bat marked BBCOR .50? manny
The Easton S1 (SL11S110) model will feature the USSSA stamp on the barrel of the bat. Only -3 models will be stamped BBCOR. The Easton S1 model that is BBCOR certified is BB11S1.
John
Between the Easton S1,S2, and the S3 which would be better for a players particular swing speed? Run
The Easton S1, S2, and the S3 are all going to be well balanced models. It will come down to preferences over composite vs. alloy or one piece vs. two piece designs.
Sean
How well does he Easton S1 perform in the cold weather? skibo
We do not recommend using the Easton S1 in weather below 55 degrees because it is more prone to cracking. There shouldn't be an issue with performance, just with durability.
Sean
My son swings a 30/20 Easton Speed and I am looking at either the Easton Omen or this new series. Which is going to give him the same MOI feel and pop as the Speed? Antonio
The Easton S1 is going to be the closest to the Easton Speed model in weight and feel. It also would be the closest in peforming to that Speed model.
Linda
My son a 9u travel player. he is above average hitter has good contact and drives the ball hard and well. I am stuck between the Easton Omen: BNC10XL Senior League or the Easton S1: SL11SL110. i would be getting either bat in a 29/19 length/wieght. But im not sure which bat is a better fit for him. He likes the Omen just cause he has used it before with good results but that was a small barrel version. Any words of wisdom for me? Also who could i talk to about sponsorship for a youth traveling team? Thanks Concerned Dad/Coach Vanillag
The Easton Omen and the Easton S1 are very similar bats. The both have composite handles and barrels and will have very good pop. You could pick either bat and it will give your son great power. At this time we do not have a sponsorship program in place nor do we know when we will have this type program in place. Thanks for the inquiry and we hope to help you soon.
KG
If this bat isn't an ideal bat for cold weather, what is an equivalent bat/technology that will perform well in cold weather? dunkindon
It's not that bat isn't going to perform, it is just that ball is going to get harder because of the colder weather. Which could cause some durability issues for both alloy or composite barrel bats. We would always recommend having a back up bat to use in colder weather below 55 degrees.
Linda
Easton S1 has great reviews, but my concern is its durability, I had purchased a Easton Rival last year and it dented after my sons 1st use. We received 2 warranty bats and both bats could not hold up, and dented beyond use. Dont want to spend $300 hundred dollars and run into the same promblem. Do you know, or have you heard of any durability promblems with the S1? hawaiian
This is a pretty new bat, but so far, we are getting rave reviews on it. Easton does have a 400 day warranty in case of an issue with it. That said, I always recommend having a backup alloy bat for practice, to save the wear and tear on your game bat.
Linda
Is the Easton S3's shape similar to the Easton Rivals? BatKing99
The Easton S3 is going to replace that Rival. The Easton S3 is going to be constructed almsot identical to the Easton Rival.
Linda
Replacing a Louisville Slugger TPX 27/17 (last years model) with this Easton S1. Question is why does this bat feel so much heavier than the TPX even though they are both 27/17. gobigred
Manufacturer's weigh the bats before they paint and put the grip tape so none will be a true 17 oz. It will just depend on how the bats are weighted in construction.
John
Need to get my 9 year old son a new bat. Last year he had the 27/17 2 5/8 barrel Rival. He has a great swing and drives the ball in the gaps and is projected to be the lead off hitter for his 9U traveling team. Need to know what bat is best for him the TPX Z-1000, TPX Triton, Easton S1, or the Combat B3. They say drop 10 is better than drop 12 but i know he has improved his swing this off season and will be driving the ball into the gaps for doubles and tripples. What bat would be the best for him as he is lefty with speed? Steve
If your son is already using a drop 10, then I would not go to a lighter bat. This would elimiate the Vertex and the Z-1000. If he is use to the Rival, which is designed for power, I would actually recommend the Easton S3 which replaced the Rival.
K.B.
Is the Easton S1 or the Combat B3 better? snake
That all depends on the type of hitter. Power hitters will probably benefit from the B3 since it is a one piece bat. Contact hitters should probably lean towards the S1 since it is two piece with more flex.
John
What is the difference between this bat(s-1) and your Oman bat? John
This bat is replacing the Omen. This bat is made of the same material as the Omen and will have very good pop just like the Omen did. The feel of this bat is balanced and will not feel endloaded like the XL1 will.
KG
Which one would you perfer the Easton S1 or the Easton Omen? snake
The Easton S1 is the replacement for the Easton Omen. The Omen has a slight end loaded feel while the S1 is going to be a very well balanced model.
Linda
Why drop -10 only for S1, S2 & S3? My son is 12.5 yrs old, 60" tall and 80 lbs. I am seeing most other kids going heavier drop -8 (30", 22oz). However, I notice that the S1 SL only comes in drop -10. My logic tells me that if drop -8 or -9 were relevant Easton would have made something other than a drop -10. Is drop -10 still the way to go? If drop -10 is the way to go, should I go with 31/21 or 30/20 given is age, height and weight? Crashdad
The Easton S1 is only available in a -10 drop. Take a look at the Easton XL1 (SL11X18), that is the -8 version of this bat.
Linda
My 11 year old son (4'6". 68 lbs.) played travel ball last year and hit very well with a 30/17 small barrel bat. He is a physically small contact hitter with a rotational, tight, compact swing. He can use a Big Barrel -10 bat this year. Do you recommend the Easton S1, Easton Omen, or DeMarini CF5 or something else? Also, would you recommend a 29/19 or 28/18? Scott
With the fact that he is moving up in size by going to the big barrel, I would lean toward this one, the S1, the low MOI will make it swing lighter. Since he was swinging a 30inch before, I definitely would not go down 2 inches to a 28. I recommend either doing to the 29 inch which will be giving him 2 ounces more to swing. But if you feel he is strong enough, then if he can swing the 30", it will be 3 ounces more, but less likely he will outgrow it soon.
Linda
How does the Easton S1 compare to the Easton Omen? And my son is more of a contact hitter than a power hitter, which would be a better choice? fazster11
The Easton S1 is going to be more of a balanced bat compared to the Easton Omen. The balanced feel of the Easton S1 would be a better choice for a contact hitter.
Sean
Sorry, i meant a two piece composite bat for contact hitters. The S1 semms like an excellent choice , just need to know which is recommended 29/19 or 30/20 for an 11yr old 5ft 75lb contact hitter? Cee Smooth
The Easton S1 is a great choice for contact hitters. Our charts are showing that the 30" model would be the size that fits him best.
John
How does this bat compare to the Combat B3 or the Louisville Slugger Exogrid2 in same size. Which has the best pop? hammer
The S1 and B3 are going to have the best pop because they are full composite barrel bats. The B3 and Exogrid are going to be stiffer than the S1 because they are a one piece design.
K.B.
Is this bat approved for Pony League Baseball? Does this bat provide an advantage versus the Easton S2? batters-up
Yes. It is approved for Pony League baseball. The S1 is all composite so it will have a slight edge over the S2.
Kara
How long or how many hits do you think it takes to break this bat in? And do you recommend using machine balls on it? Ryan
To break in a bat you should take approximately 100-200 swings off a tee or soft toss, rotating the barrel about a 1/4 of an inch. Composite bats should not be used in a batting cage that use yellow dimpled balls because they are going to be more dense than a regular baseball.
Kara
Does this SL11S110 30'/20'drop 10 have two other options? 1. 2-3/4 barrel 2. a one piece composite barrel oldbirdfan
The Easton SL11S110 is only available in a two piece full composite design with 2 5/8" barrel. If you are looking for a 2 3/4" barrel in this speed line take a look at the Easton S3 (SL11S310B).
Sean
My son hits in the 3 spot of a travel baseball team, he is 48" tall and weighs around 85 lbs. He has been hitting with the 29/19 Easton Omen 2 1/4" barrel, but rule changes are allowing 2 5/8 in the league this year. What are the differences in the S1 and the X1 besides the weight drop? Is the barrel longer on the X1 and if so how much? Do they have the same size sweet spot? Baseball dad
The Easton S1 is going to be a light weight model that is very well balanced. The Easton XL1 is going to be available in heavier drops but will have a slightly larger barrel.
Kara
How has this bat changed from last years Easton Omen? Sharshar
The Easton Omen is going to have a slightly larger barrel but will also have a slight end loaded feel. The Easton S1 is going to be a very well balanced model.
Sean
Is this bat a balanced bat or end loaded bat? SR
The Easton S1 is a very well balanced two piece composite bat. All of the "Speed" series released by Easton will be well balanced bats.
John
Since the S1, S2 and S3 are all drop 10, does that mean that the 2 5/8" portion of the barrell is longer on the composite (S1) than on the S2 and S3. In other words, is there more "big barrell" on this bat than on the other 2? Wolfpack
The S1 does have a longer barrel of about an inch. They both have big barrels and will have great pop.
KG
Which should I buy? Right now I have a Easton Stealth that is six years old and it has a CNT handle and an alloy barrel. I love it, but I'm lookng new technology. I'm a leadoff, contact hitter with a bit of pop, but I want more pop. Here is my question: should I buy the Easton S2, S1 or the TPX Z-1000? Eduardo
The S2 will probably be the closest to your previous bat. The S2 is going to have a two piece design with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The S1 is going to be Easton's top of the line bat because it is a two piece composite design. The Z-1000 is also a great option if you are wanting a lighter bat to increase swing speed. So it will come down to what you are looking for.
John
Do you know if easton is going to have a 27/15 in this bat? wmac
The Easton S1 is only available in a -10 drop. If you were needing a 27" then the weight would be a 17 oz.
John
Can the Easton S1 be used in Dixie 11-12 ? We can use big barrels just knew there is some bat restrictions. Cobb
I would double check with your league officials first. But, from our knowledge it will require the BPF 1.15 stamp on the bat.
Tom
I read a review at a different site that this bat broke near the handle when the player got jammed. Would the bat be covered by warranty under this situation? Steve
Yes, the Easton S1 has a full (12) Twelve month manufacturer's warranty. The warranty covers cracks, dents, end cap issues, and so forth.
John
11 year old not real strong which would be better fit Easton S1, XL1, or S2? none
The S1 is going to help you out increase your swing speed and be a very balanced bat as well. The composite barrel will give you the pop you are looking for as well.
Ryan
My son has a 29/19 Easton Omen and I want to get the s1 for him.(10 yrs. old). The Omen still has pop, what is the difference between the Omen and S1? Should I invest in the S1 now? Is the sweet spot the same? Is the Omen more top heavy? Does it make a difference? NY Pride
The S1 is the replacment bat for the Omen. They are identical is design, except for graphics. The S1 is a balanced bat designed to maximize bat speed.
Shelbe
When you say the S1 isn't as good in cold weather how cold or warm does it need to be to perform well? fresh
It's really the cold weather's effect on the baseballs, not the bat, that can lead to an increased likely hood of dents or cracks to the bat.
Kara
My son hits with a Demarini Voodoo -9 & hit rather well with it. Not knowing for sure but I think this is an end loaded bat & I'm concerned about switching to the more balanced bat. Any honest input as far as how these 2 bats differ & how he will respond to the difference?? Chris
The Easton S1 is a going to be a very well balanced two piece composite barrel bat. The Demarini Voodoo we have heard has more of a slight end loaded feel.
Kara
Would a 10 year old have a faster bat speed using 2 3/4 versus 2 5/8 inch? easton hardin
This is something that will need to be tested. If the 2 3/4" barrel feels good to him and he is getting around fast there should not be an issue.
KG
Someone told me to put clear nail polish over the USSSA stamp to preserve the stamp from rubbing off. Is this a good idea? Issy
This is a solution more customers are using. We think this would be a great idea and will help prevent the stamp from coming off.
KG
Please compare the Easton S1 all composite with the DeMarini CF5 - pros and cons. Thanks. kyle
Both bats are two piece composite designs, so they are going to perform pretty similarly. The main difference is going to be the DeMarini CF5 is a little more end loaded, while the S1 is a very balanced bat.
Jennifer
I'm 14 and I need a new bat this year. I get triple and doubles all the time. Is the S1 the bat I should get? Coopdog
The Easton S1 is a great two piece full composite design. Generally contacts prefer two piece designs because they will have a little more flex. Keep in mind that composite barrel bats require a break in period. We recommend taking 150-200 swings off the tee or soft toss and make sure you rotate the barrel a quarter of an inch every 15-20 swings to fully break in the composite fibers.
Shelbe
Is this bat legal for Alabama Dizzy Dean? chris
It depends on the age of the player. If the player is under the age of 12, then the bat is legal. Ages 13 and over must have BBCOR bats according to the dizzydean website. http://dizzydeanbbinc.org/rules.htm
KB
What are the biggest differences between the S1 and the S3? bdeli
The Easton S1 is a two piece composite design, and the S3 is a one piece alloy design. Both bats are going to be very balanced, but the S3 is going to be more stiff. Power hitters tend to prefer a one piece bat because of the stiffness, while contact hitters prefer the flex offered with a two piece.
Jennifer
My son is 9 yrs old at 5' tall & 115 lbs. We want S2 or S1 but keep hearing about S1 not being good in the cold. We are from Western Mass...what is considered cold weather in these reviews. Older brother had Easton Stealth 2007 which had serious pop. Please advise. Clarky
Cold usually means refers to anything below 55 degrees or so. I haven't heard any major issues with the S1 not holding up in the cold, however, when it is below 55 degrees or so, you want to try to limit the use of any bat.
Tyler
Which bat is better the S1 Easton or the Combat 52 Caliber 29/19? Banker1991
Well, they are two pretty different bats. The S1 is a two piece bat with more flex. The 52 Caliber is a one piece bat that will be stiffer with a bit more of an end loaded feel. A contact hitter may prefer the S1 where a power hitter may prefer the 52 Caliber.
Tyler
I know the S1 is supposed to have a lower MOI than the Omen, but do they actually weigh less as well? We have a Omen Senior 29/19 that actually weighs 20.8 oz. Can you weigh an S1 Senior 29/19 and tell me what it weighs? Zeus4
Bats are weighed before the final touches are made (paint, clear coat, etc.). With that being said, each bat will have slight variations in their weight. These small variations make it difficult to get an exact weight on the bat, since each bat can be slightly different. However, the weight will be very close to the 19 oz measurement.
Jennifer
Will the Easton S1 -10 based on today's rules - be usssa compliant in 2013? Reading the USSSA rules it appears it has the correct stamp on the handle - is that true? MARKPICC
Yes. The S1 has the new USSSA stamp and will be legal this year, next, and beyond
Tyler
What is the difference between the Easton S1 and Easton S2? werty1
The S1 is a two piece full composite bat and the S2 is a two piece alloy barrel, composite handle bat. The difference will be in the barrel materials. A composite barrel bat will have a lighter feel than an alloy barrel bat.
Kris
My son is 8 years old, 54-55 inches tall and weighs 75 pounds. Plays USSSA coach pitch and hits the ball well. He is a relatively strong kid. What length and weight do you recommend for a kid this size? Bradberry
Based on your son's height and weight, I would suggest going with a 29 inch bat. If you say he is pretty strong, I would go with either a 17.5 or 19oz bat. Our bats do come with a free return label, so if you do happen to buy it and find that it is too light or too heavy for him, you are more than welcome to send it back and we can exchange it for a different size for you.
Jennifer
Will this bat be approved for USSSA use in 2013, I know it's good for 2012? 643DP
This bat does feature the new USSSA stamp. Since it has this stamp it will be legal for use in 2012 and beyond.
Jennifer
Is this bat legal for middle school baseball use in Tennessee? Shadow
This depends on what rules your school follows. Some middle schools follow High School rules, and if that is the case with your school you will need to have an adult -3 bat, and this one will not be legal. Since rules change for each school and league, I would suggest checking with your school athletic director or coach to see what rules you should be following.
Jennifer
Does this bat have a BBCOR sticker on it? Is it acceptable for play in Babe Ruth? Mr. Baseball
The Easton S1 (SL11S110) is not BBCOR certified. BBCOR models will only be available in a -3 drop. Babe Ruth requuires all composite barrel bats that are being used to be BBCOR certified, which this model is not.
Sean
Do they sell a -5 in the s series bats? blakeyboii
Unfortunately, the there is no -5 in the S Series, only the XL comes in a -5. Here is the link for the XL1 -5: http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-xl1--sl11x15-senior-league/14529/
Tyler
Does using a bat warmer make it ok to use a composite bat in colder weather if it's only taken out of the warmer to hit? Or, is it the cold balls that cause the problem? Uncle Fester
It's really the cold weather's effect on the baseballs, not the bat, that can lead to an increased likely hood of dents or cracks to the bat. Bat warmers may help a little, but it won't be a complete life-saver. If you have one though, it doesn't hurt to use it.
Tyler
Is this a good bat for Babe Ruth 13-15? Jordan
No. The Easton S1 has a composite barrel. If you want to use a bat with a composite hitting surface in the 13-15 year old division in Babe Ruth, it must be an Adult -3 BBCOR bat.
Tyler
I am 5ft 8in and I would like to know if a 32in 22oz or 32in 29oz is a good fit for me. Also, is this bat fully composite? Thanks! Cebs
We would need to know your weight and what size bat you're currently using in order to give a better recommendation. If you're stronger than average, a 32/29 may be a good choice. If you're not as strong, go with a 32/22. The Easton S1 is a two-piece, full composite.
Tyler
Is this bat a big barrel? dave
The Easton S1 has a barrel diameter of 2 5/8". With that being said, this bat is considered a big barrel bat.
Jennifer
Is this bat available in 2 3/4" barrel? ron
The Easton S1 Senior League SL11S110 is not available in a 2 3/4" barrel. However, the Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League is available in a 2 3/4 inch barrel.
Kara
My son who is 4'8" & 88 lbs is currently swinging a 29/19 Omen LNC2XL, but I am considering moving to a big barrel. Is the Easton S1:SL11S110 a good choice? Any other recommendations? Patrick
The Easton S1 would be a great bat to switch to! This is actually the model that has replaced the Omen, so it will have a similar feel and will perform the same as the Omen.
Jennifer
Is there a -8 version of this or XL1? I know this is the new Omen and last year there was a -8 and -10 big barrel. If so can you send me the link? Sr3
The Easton XL1: SL11X18 is available in a -8; http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-xl1--sl11x18-senior-league/14528/.
Kara
I am considering getting the S1 or S3. I know the S1 is composite and two pieces and the S3 is alloy and 1 piece. When would the S1 be a better fit for a batter, and when would the S3 be the better bat? Is the S1 really worth $100 more? ekshaffer
Since the Easton S1 is a two-piece bat, it is usually better suited for contact hitters, while the Easton S3, being a one-piece bat, is usually better suited for power hitters. Composite bats go through a more labor intensive process than alloy bats do, thus causing the increase in price. Also, composite bats tend to get better the more you use them, while alloy bats are the best they will ever be right out of the wrapper. The composite material may also give you more pop due to the trampoline effect the material gives the bat.
Jennifer
I lost my CF5 and now I'm looking for a bat. I am 13 and in 7th grade. My CF5 was a -10. Should I go with the S1 or the XL1. I don't really care if one is end loaded cause i can use both. Which one will I get more power out of? dylan
The Easton S1 and Easton XL1 are made from the same composite material. The only difference is that the S1 is balanced and the XL1 is end loaded. If your swing speed is above average, you may see more success with the XL1. If your swing speed is average or below average, I recommend the S1.
Tyler
Which is better - 2012 DeMarini Voodoo (skull paint) or the S1. Understand the Voodoo has alloy barrel while S1 is all composite. Which is more balanced, which would you recommend for a contact hitter that also has power (hard line drives to gaps and power up the middle)? Which is better bat for pre-middle school years? cyber
It is difficult to compare the Easton S1 with the Demarini Voodoo. The Voodoo is going to to be a two piece hybrid design that has a -9 drop. The Easton S1 is going to be a two piece full composite bat with a -10 drop. The DeMarini Voodoo will have a little more flex because of the two piece design. The Easton S1 will have a little flex as well but it uses a stiffer composite material that may not as flex as much as the Voodoo. Also, the Easton S1 will require a break in period because it is a composite barrel. We recommend 150-200 swings off the tee or soft toss while making sure you rotate the barrel the bat a quarter of an inch every 15-20 swings to help fully break in the composite fibers.
Kara
I'm a contact hitter and which bat would be better for this type of batter, S1 or CF5? meatitarian
Either the Easton S1 or the DeMarini CF5 would be a great choice for a contact hitter. Both of these bats have a two-piece design, which will work great for the type of hitter you are. Both bats are very similar and will perform just about the same. You can't go wrong with either!
Jennifer
Is the Easton S1 AABC approved? moose
The Easton SL11S110 is not approved for AABC play.
Tyler
What is the difference between the Omen -10 and the S1 -10? Cvan
The Easton S1 SL11S110 is the replacement for the Easton Omen. These bats are manufactured with the same materials and have the same great pop. The main differences between these two will be in the graphics.
Kris
Is the Easton S1: SL11S110 bat approved for Little League Juniors Division? Alfred
The Easton S1 is not approved for Little League Juniors Division. Composite bats must be BBCOR certified for Juniors Division.
Kara
Will the 32/22 S1 hit farther than a XL1 32/24? fishboy
This depends on the hitter, not the bat. The XL1 has a longer barrel, but is also end loaded. If a player does not have good bat speed, the Easton XL1 will not help with power or hit the ball further.
Kara
Does this bat make the ping or pop noise while hitting? J-Dog
The Easton S1 has a composite barrel so it will have more of a "crack" sound. If you are wanting a bat that has a "ping" sound then you would need to look at an alloy barrel bat.
John
my son is only 6, but about 54" tall. Seems to not hit well with a 28" 15 oz bat that he has. went to the cages and hit nice line drives and balls in the air with a 29" bat. was wanting a big barrell bat for him, but the ones reccomended for 5-8 yr olds are only 28". what do you think about purchasing a 29" 19oz easton S1 big barrell senior league bat. think it will be to big. turning 7 in september and has 2 more years of coach pitch. about 54" tall and 65 pounds sexton
Going by his height, a 29 inch bat would be a good option. Weight really comes down to the player's own comfort level. It would be difficult for me to say if a 19 ounce bat would be too heavy without being able to analyze his swing and without knowing the weight of the 29 inch bat he used in the cages. It sounds like he would be able to handle a 19 ounce bat just fine though.
Tyler
Which has a bigger sweet spot, the easton s1 or the eason omen? OmenLover
The S1 was made to replace the Omen and both will have a similar sweet spot.
Tyler
Is the Easton S1 really balanced or top heavy? juice box
The Easton S1 is a pretty balanced bat. The Easton XL1 is very similar to the S1, but the XL1 has an end loaded feel to it.
Jennifer
hi my name is jack im 13 and trying to find a nice bat for my next season on the big field.it has to be bbcor will this bat work? also are there full composite bbcor bats? jack #1
The Easton S1: SL11S110 bat is a youth big barrel bat that is not BBCOR certified. Only Adult -3 bats will be BBCOR certified. There are several full composite BBCOR bats on our website.
Tyler
My son is 7. What would you recommend a Easton S1 or Easton S3? vela
Both the Easton S1 and the Easton S3 would be fantastic options for your 7 year old son. The main difference between the two bats is that the Easton S1 is a two-piece fully composite bat, whereas the Easton S3 is a one-piece fully aluminum bat. Both models are designed to have great weight distribution which increases bat speed.
Tom
Is this bat balanced or end loaded? Also, what would be my best choice be, this bat or the S2? Trevo
The Easton S1 is a balanced bat. The S1 is a two piece full composite bat and the Easton S2 is a two piece composite handle and alloy barreled bat. Both are going to be very comparable when it comes to performance and durability.
Nick
Which do you recommend for a power hitter, this or the XL1? Reed
Both the Easton S1 and the XL1 are great bats. If you are looking for a power hitter, I would suggest going with the XL1. This series was designed more for power hitters and has an extended barrel with a larger sweet spot and an end loaded feel.
Jennifer
Would a 31 in. 21 oz. be too heavy for my son who is about 5'2" and 120 pounds? doogie
Using our Bat Coach program on our website, a 31 in. 21 oz. bat would be recommended for a player with that particular height and weight. The link to our Bat Coach is http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Nick K.
My son is going to be playing in sanctioned Pony baseball all-star games that begin in a couple weeks. Is this bat Pony approved? Jason
The Easton S1 is legal in Pony League.
Kara
Is this composite? guguigil
The Easton S1 is a two-piece all composite bat.
Kara
Which has more pop? This or the CF5? Reed
The Easton S1: SL11S110 Senior League and the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League are very similar bats. They are both two-piece composite bats with balanced swing weights. Either bat would be a very good choice.
Nick D
Is this bat legal for Babe Ruth and 13 year old All Stars? dobby22
The Easton S1 is not legal for Babe Ruth. All composite bats in the 13-15 year old division must be BBCOR certified.
Kara
Is this bat legal for Babe Ruth? dobby
The Easton S1 is not legal in Babe Ruth.
Kara
Which power brigade bat would you recommend to a player that usually hits singles and doubles? jake
The Easton S1 is a top of the line bat that's two piece, full composite, with a light swing weight. I think it will be a great option for you.
Tyler
What is the cheapest power brigade bat? Do they all have great pop like the omen? Are any legal in Babe Ruth 13-15 yrs? Slugger
The Easton XL3 and the Easton S3 are the lowest in cost of the Easton Power Brigade series. Both of these bats are one-piece fully aluminum bats with great pop. The barrel diameter must be less than 2 5/8 inches to be legal for Babe Ruth 13-15 yrs.
Tom
How many practice hits are typical to break this bat in, taking into account rotating the barrel between swings. Jim
It should take about 150 hits, rotating the barrel between swings, to break in the Easton S1: SL11S110.
Nick D
Is this a big barrel bat? Michael
Yes the Easton S1: SL11S110 has a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter which is under the category of big barrel.
Tom
Is this the best big barrel there is? Mike
The Easton S1: SL11S110 is one of the highest performing 2 5/8" barrel bats on the market. Easton's IMX Composite gives the bat great pop.
Tom
Do this particular bat comes in 28" 16 oz. or 28" 17 oz? Chris
No. The Easton S1 Senior League only comes in a drop 10, so a 28" bat will be 18 oz.
Damon
Is this the best big barrel bat? Michael
The Easton S1 Senior league is very good bat, but it depends on what kind of hitter you are. If you like a balanced bat and are a contact hitter, it is hard to beat.
Damon
Is it legal for travel ball? kyle
Please see your coach with this question. Not all travel ball organizations and tournaments operate under the same rules.
Tyler
What are the upgrades of the S1 from the Omen and how do the upgrades help? nate
They both use the high performing IMX Composite material, but the Easton S1 will have better weight distribution than the Easton Omen. This will help to increase your bat speed. Here is a link to further compare the bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
Is this a single or double wall bat? John V.
The Easton S1: SL11S110 Senior League bat is a composite baseball bat. Only alloy softball bats will be termed as single-wall or double-wall.
Tyler
is the barrel bigger than the 2013 CF5 nate the great
The barrel is going to be the same size on the S1 as it is on the 2013 CF5.
Sean
When will this bat's 'stamp' expire? peels
Here is a link to USSSA's most recent publishing regarding rules for required stamps on bats. http://www.usssa.com/usssa/usssa-general/BaseballBatAnnouncement4-22-11.pdf
Tom
I've been looking for a drop 10 2 5/8, or 2 3/4" bat. I'm a power hitter, so typically I buy bats that are known to have the most "pop". I've been looking at this bat as well as the DeMarini Vexxum 2013 drop 10 big barrel. Which one has more pop? Muddog
The Easton S1 has a composite barrel so it will get hotter out of the box than the DeMarini Vexxum which has an alloy barrel. You may consider the Easton XL1 though because it is more end loaded and designed for a power hitter.
Damon
I play 12u aau i am very fast and i go for line drives not long home runs is this the bat for me? Aaubaseball
Yes. The Easton S1 is evenly balanced with a light swing weight. You should have great success with it.
Tyler
I was told the Easton Brigade S1 is only for cooler temperatures and the Easton S3 is for warmer weather. Is this true? Becky
The Easton S1 is composite. Composite material is more prone to cracking in cooler temperatures (below 55 degrees). Both the Easton S1 and S3 would do fine in warmer weather.
Damon
Do you have a 31" 21oz. in this bat model? Aaubaseball
We do not currently have the Easton S1 available in that size but we will be getting more in stock shortly.
Tom
When will Easton come out with its new line of senior bats? Beast
Easton will be releasing its 2013 line of bats in November.
Tom
When will the 31in. 21oz. come in? Aaubaseball
We receive new shipments in weekly. We could possibly get them in as early as next week or the following week.
Tom
MY SON SWINGS A 31 /19 NOW IN A 2 1/4". WOULD A 33/22 IN A 2 5/8 BE TO MUCH? BBALLDAD
Depending on your sons bat speed and how easy it was for him to swing the 19oz. bat, the jump to the 22oz. would probably be a little heavy for him. We would recommend considering a 31" 21oz.
Tom
Will this bat be made in a -5? cRob
The Easton S1 will not be offered in the -5 length to weight ratio, but the Easton XL1 which uses the same IMX composite as the S1 is offered in that size. The main difference is the XL1 is designed to be slightly more end loaded to provide for more power.
Tom
Is this bat considered BBCOR. My son plays travel and Little League and I am wondering if this is approved to play in either of them. carol
The Easton S1 is not BBCOR certified. Only Adult bats are BBCOR certified. The Easton S1: SL11S110 Senior League is approved in travel leagues, but is not approved in Little League. However, the Easton S1: YB11S1 Youth is legal in both travel and Little League.
Kara
Is there a difference between the big barrel S1 and the Speed BSS13XL? Ricky
Both the Easton S1 and the Speed BSS13Xl are two-piece composite bats. The main difference is the Easton S1 will be more balanced.
Kara
Is this comparable to the Easton Stealth big barrel bat? I used a -10, 31" bat and really liked it but it's discontinued. I'm 5'1", 94 lbs, contact hitter J.J.
Yes. The Easton S1: SL11S110 is similar to the old Stealth as it is also a two-piece, full composite bat that Easton consider's their "top-of-the-line" model.
Tyler
Is this like the easton omen big barrel? easton
Yes. The Easton S1 was made to replace the Easton Omen.
Tyler
I am told there are some changes to the 2013 model of the Easton S1 bat. Particularly the 32" 22 oz. model. Can you tell me what changes are being introduced and what benefits it will have over the 2012 model? Sealteam
The 2012 and 2013 Easton S1 SL11S110 models are the same. They are made of the same high performing materials. As a result, both bats are extremely durable.
Aubrey
Which Easton bat do you think is better the XL1 or the S3 for a 7 year old that is very strong with good bat speed? Dtill789
The Easton XL1 is best suited for a player with quick bat speed and a lot of power because of the end loaded feel.
Kara
At what temperature is it too cold to use this bat? kenny
It is recommended that you limit your bats use when it is colder than 55 degrees outside. the temperature effects the balls, not the bat and there is a higher number of damaged bats reported when the temperature is under 55 degrees.

Does the Easton S1 come in a drop 8? I'm looking for a 31/23 and can't seem to find it. Fredsdad
The Easton S1 will not be available with a -8 length to weight ratio, but the Easton XL1 which uses the same IMX composite is available in the -8 drop. Here is a link to take a look. http://www.justbats.com/product/--pre-book---2013-easton-xl1--sl13x18-senior-league/15970/

I am 5 feet 4 inches, and 90 pounds. What size bat should I use? Joey
The best size of bat for you to go with would be a 30" or 31". For the weight you would be best with a 20oz. or 21oz. bat. Our bat coach is an awesome tool on JustBats.com to find out what size bat you should be using, and it helps find bats that fit your criteria.
Noah
Does this bat feels like a -12 bat or like a -10 bat? joey
The Easton S1: SL11S110 Senior League baseball bat is a -10. It is a balanced bat so it will feel like a balanced -10.
Jeff
Is this bat a little league bat or Pony bat,big barrel? Tazz
The Easton S1: SL11S110 Senior League bat is illegal in Little League, but it is legal for play in Pony.
Tyler
My son uses a Surge currently, which is being replaced by the S2 and XL2. Which bat (S2/XL2) has characteristics most similar to the Surge and what advantages/disadvantages are there when choosing the less similar bat? Dvdzdad
The Easton Surge is going to be the most similar to the Easton S2. The advantages of going with the Easton XL2 would be if your son is more of a power hitter, because of the end loaded barrel and extended sweet spot.
Noah
Is this bat a big barrel? bb
Yes, the Easton S1: SL11S110 Senior League bat has a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter.
Aubrey
My son is 9 years old and wants to get an Easton S1 or an Easton S3. What are the performance differences between these 2 bats? Which bat is more durable? Which bat has more "pop"? JV
The Easton S1 in a two-piece composite bat and the Easton S3 is a one-piece alloy bat. The Easton S1 will have more flex because it is a two-piece the the Easton S3. The S3 may work a little better for players with faster swing speeds. Both bats have the same USSSA stamp so their performance should be very comparable.
Jeff
What is the difference between this S1 and 2013 model? Are composite bats good in colder weather? Mike
The new 2013 Easton S1: SL11S110 Senior League uses upgraded materials in the handle for better durability. We recommend not to use composite bats below 50 degrees.
Kara
My son just turned 10, weighs about 85lbs and is 4'-6" tall. He wants a big barrel for travel ball......not a power hitter but puts ball in play. Would S1 or S3 be better? Dale
That all comes down to what bat he has used previously. It's known that when players use the same type of bat they have used in the past with success, they are much more likely to have continued success. Both the S1 and S3 are well balanced bats great for contact hitters.
John
Will this bat be legal for 2013 usssa 14U play? Atrain34
Yes. The Easton S1: SL11S110 has the new USSSA stamp and is legal for play.
Tyler
Looking for a full composite 2 1/4 for my 9 year old and a full composite 2 5/8 for my 13 year old. My 13 year old (155 lbs) swung the Omen last year and hit .417. He loved it. Looking for a bat that is comparable to the Omen. Any suggestions. The 9 year old (90 lbs) has a quick bat speed swing and as a first year minor put 4 or 5 to the fence. dacaptain
Both the 2013 Easton S1 and 2013 Easton XL1 are two-piece fully composite designs. The Easton S1 features a balanced swing weight and would be good for a player with average to below average swing speed. The Easton XL1 features an extended barrel with a slight end-load, which is preferred by power hitters. Both the Easton S1 and XL1 are offered in 2 1/4 and 2 5/8 Inch barrel diameters.
Robert
When will you get more of them cuz I need a 30'20oz? Big casino
The Easton S1: SL11S110 is a 2012 model no longer in production. We will not be receiving any more in stock.
Tyler

Tyler
Is this legal for travel ball in 2013? Rogue

Tyler
What is the advantage of a 2 5/8" barrel versus the 2 1/4"? Does the ball go further on a solid hit with the big barrel? sam
It depends on the league you play in. The 2 1/4" barrel is smaller, so it takes more precision to hit the ball. The 2 5/8" barrel is a little bigger. Both barrel sizes will perform relatively the same.

I have a 2012 Easton S1 and love it but after a full season, practices, fall ball and winter BP, it seems to losing some pop. It probably has over 4000 hits on it. At what point should I replace it? cubs22
Since you have used the Easton S1 Senior League as much as you have and are noticing that it has decline some. I would go ahead and replace the bat. With all the games and practice you participate in, you should get a new one.
Chad M.

Kara
What is the difference between the Easton S1 and the Easton S3? Which one is better in your opinion? Why? Colin W.
The Easton S1: SL11S110 Senior League bat is a two-piece fully composite design and the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League bat is a one-piece alloy design. They are both very balanced designs but the S3 is generally preferred by a power hitter as a one-piece model.
Aubrey

I'm 95 pounds, a really good contact hitter with not a lot of power, so should i get the Easton S1 or a Marucci bat? best
The Easton S1: SL11S110 Senior League would be perfect for you. The S equals Speed which equals power.
Chad M.
Why was the Easton model SL11S110 discontinued? Our son has outgrown this bat and needs a 30 inch. We want to replace it with this same bat because he loves it, but can't because it's discontinued. Can you give us some comparable bats to this one? christine
The Easton S1: SL11S110 Senior League was discontinued because it is an older model. Easton still produces the S1. The 2014 Easton S1: SL14S110 Senior League is the newest model of this bat.
Tori
How can I tell if my Easton S1 (SL11S110) bat is bad? Rick
There is no test to tell if your Easton S1 (SL11S110) has gone bad. There will be a definite drop off in performance, which would be one indication that it may have gone dead. If it is still under warranty from Easton, I would recommend sending it back to them for warranty replacement.
