Description

The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The S2 features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Nice pop right out of the wrapper. Added at least 15 feet if not more coming off the bat. Looks good. Definitely recommend it and will be buying more of Easton's Power Brigade Series of bats.

Cons: Wished it came in a -11 or -12, but still a great bat.

The Baseball Boy

Pros: Great bat, has a huge sweet spot, super light and easy to swing fast, and even if you don't get all of the ball it still goes very far. I am very impressed with this bat. If you want a heavier bat you should try the XL series.

Cons: No cons at all

Pros: Bat has a lot of pop and is very balanced. Easy to swing. My twins are 10 years old, 4'9" and 72 lbs. and they swing the 29" 19 oz. version very well. This bat has made a difference in their game.

Cons: The handle broke last night during the state championship! Perhaps the ultra-thin handle is too weak?

I play 12u travel ball and when guys are throwing 55 and you put a good swing on it the ball jumps off the barell and flies over the fence! great bat Steve parent

Pros: My son went to this bat from a Combat because the Combat was no longer legal in many tournaments "no 1.15 stamp" Great contact bat many lines drives hit a home run over 260 he is 11. Over all I was surprised that this bat was very close in performance to the Combat.

Cons: Bat broke in 2 months lost all pop Easton is replacing it with a 2014 model however I am still waiting will not see the new bat until mid October which is disappointing.

Pros: It is a great bat. Good pop, not a lot of vibration, well balanced. Don't know about durability since we have only had it 2 weeks. But if its like the Easton S1, it will have good durability.

Cons: Every kid on the team wants to use it. It is now the most used bat on the team.

Another stellar stick from Easton. John parent

Pros: Don't believe what you read. This bat has an aluminum barrel and has great response right out of the wrapper. No rolling or break in required. Love the sound off the bat-gives the player immediate feedback that solid contact has been made. Extremely low-nearly zero-vibration. The difference between the "S" and "XL" series of bats, essentially, comes down to bat speed. We've got other bats that are far more end-loaded than the Speed series from Easton. However, when you're facing pitchers routinely hitting 65+ MPH in some of the larger tournaments across the country, VERY FEW kids can get the end loaded sticks around in time to make significant contact. There's no reason not to keep an assortment of equipment in the bag based on who you're up against. Bought this at a substantial savings off of the 2014 model, saved enough to get two other bats including a wooden one. Awesome piece!

Cons: None thus far.

Great bat and swing speed cas3 player

Pros: This bat is amazing not only does it look really cool but it also feels cool. The ball either flies off the bat or a nice hard liner it also increases your bat velocity by about five mph some people think the bat sucks until they get there hands on one then they eat there words! You will not regret getting the perfect half and half no sting 2013 s2 the best bat that I have ever had also very light

Scandium screamer JL Parent

Pros: This was bought to replace a used 2014 Easton S2 that developed a flat spot in a home run derby. After using this all winter and spring for travel baseball, this bat is still dent-free and works well. The S2 is a super light and well-balanced bat. I can't say enough about the confidence my son had with the S2. He felt like he had great bat control and didn't miss any of "his" pitches.

Cons: Possible barrel denting is well known for this aluminum used in the series. That said, this scandium barrel is also known for hitting absolute missiles.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S2 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL13S210? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I am 13 years old and I have to use a -3 Bbcor for school baseball, but I can use any other size for next summer. What should I get a -3 or -10 like this one? Baseballplayer2
Ultimately, the decision is up to you. It may prove difficult to switch back and forth between a drop 3 and a drop 10. It could be a challenge in high school baseball to get used to the drop 3 after using the drop 10 during the summer.
Jeff
Are there any design differences between the 2012 Easton S2 and the 2013 Easton S2? Shawn
The only real difference between the two bats is that the 2012 model has the IMX Composite Handle and the 2013 model has the SIC Black Carbon Composite Handle.
Jeff
I am 12yrs old 5ft 7.5in and i can hit for power. Last year i had the 2012 Easton S3 and had good succsess with it. if i am lookin gfor a new bat which would be the best of the new 2013 Easton S series. big guns
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Thus, the S3 is recommended.
Tyler
Hi. My son has an Easton XL1 youth 30" -10 2 1/4" barrel. Now needing a 2 5/8 barrel bat. He loves the feel of this bat. What would be you recommend? Like to stay with the same feel. thanks Andrew
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Thus, we recommend sticking with the Easton XL1.
Tyler
Will this bat be BBCOR certified? Shah
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 is not BBCOR certified. All BBCOR bats will have a -3 length to weight ratio. We currently do not have the 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR available for Pre-Book, but here is last years model. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s2-bbcor--bb11s2-adult/14438/?pa_source=justbats&pa_campaign=was&pa_medium=badges&pa_content=easton-s2-bbcor--bb11s2-adult.

I have an Easton Omen 31" -12, 2 1/4" barrel. I have had success with it. I'm looking into a 2 5/8" barrel Easton, which would you recommend? I'm 11 yrs old. bulldozer
I would look at this bat: **PRE-BOOK** 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League. It will swing most like your Omen. This bat will come in a 31" model. It will be Two-Piece in design and be all composite. It will have an extra large barrel length and be 2 5/8" barrel diameter. It will feature Easton's Massive Sweetspot design and Performance Diamond Grip. This bat will require a break-in period and come with a Full 400 Day Warranty through Easton.
Brandon
I am a 5'4" 13 year old player that needs a 2 5/8'" bat. Last year I used the b4yb1 31/19. Right now I am looking at the 2013 s2 or the 2013 xl2. I want to try and gain more power. Which bat would you suggest? JJ Hardy
If you have above average strength and swing speed, the XL2 would be recommended due to it's slightly endloaded design. If you have average to below average strength and swing speed, the S2 would be recommended due to it's very balanced design.
Tyler
Is there going to be a black Easton xl2 or whatever a 32/24 is called? papabear
Yes. Please refer to model; 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28.
Tyler
My 11-year old son uses an Omen -10. Need to buy a metal-barrel 2-5/8 inch bat for the new LL Intermediate (50/70) Division. What are the differences between the new S2 and its predecessor the Surge? Also, what is the difference between the IMX Composite handle and SIC Black Carbon handle? Coach Lon
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 is more balanced than the Easton Surge. The new SIC Black Carbon handle is new technology used for better durability.
Kara
What is the difference between this and the SL13S110? jasonA
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League bat is a two-piece hybrid design with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 is a two-piece fully composite design. Both models will feature a balanced swing weight. Here is a link for further comparison http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Aubrey
What is the advantage/philosophy behind the 1/2 and 1/2 design? Trying to decide between this and LS 2013 Vertex in 29/19 for a 9 year old. Thanks deuce
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League two-piece bat will have more flex than a one-piece bats. Two-piece bats have more of a whipping action. They are best suited for contact hitters.
Kara
Did this take the place of the Easton Surge 2011 model 29/19? Brent
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League replaced the Easton Surge.
Kara
Of the two piece hybrid design (alloy barrel and composite handle) bats, would you consider the Easton S2 to be more balanced than the Demarini Vexxum or TPX Vertex? My son is a smaller 9u travel player who is a contact hitter. Karen
Yes. The Easton S2 will have a slightly lighter swing weight and more balanced feel than the Vexxum or Vertex.
Tyler
why have we not seen any reviews on this bat. I've been watching since it came out. Is it that this bat is not selling or people who have bought it just not sending in review? roc
It looks like we have simply not received any user reviews at this point for the 2013 Easton S2. We have several positive reviews for the 2012 Easton S2, which would be very similar to the 2013 model.
Justin R.
My son is 5'1" and 100 pounds with above average swing power. I know nothing about bats. He thinks he wants the Easton S2 31 inch 21 oz bat. Is this right for him? Do you have a better recommendation? Doug
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 31" 21 oz. model in the 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League bat. The Easton S2 features a very balanced swing weight and would be a good option for a player with average to below average swing speed.
Aubrey
My son is 10 and only 4'4, 70 lbs. He is a good hitter, but not much power. Is this a good 2 5/8 bat for him or do you recommend something else? Mike Mike
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League would be a great option for your son. The S2 is a very balanced bat which is great for a contact hitter. We recommend a 28" 18 oz. based on his size.
Katie
What is the difference between this model and the 2012 model? LUI.V
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League has an upgraded composite handle from the 2012 Easton S2: SL11S210 Senior League. The 2012 model used IMX composite, whereas the 2013 has been upgraded to SIC black carbon composite.
Katie
Is there a break in period for this bat, or will it be hot out of the wrapper? jack
The 2013 Easton S2 will be hot right out of the wrapper.
Noah
My son is 9 years old, 55 pounds, and a good contact hitter, but not overly powerful. Would this bat be a good choice, and if so, what size? ats
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League is a very balanced bat and is a good choice for a contact hitter. For someone your son's size, I recommend a 29".
Katie
My son plays on a competitive travel team and every coach since he was very young always commented on how quick his hands were. He is about 5-1 and 124 pounds. I was looking at the Easton S2 31' (-10) for him but upon reading some other reviews, I"m not sure that the S2 would be the bat of choice for his situation. What bat and size would you recommend and would this still be a good choice for someone with quick hands? Lane
This is a difficult question for us to answer as much of the decision comes down to the personal preference of the player and what bat type of bat they have used previously. It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Typically, hitters with above average power and swing speed do better with a more endloaded bat. A 31" model is recommended based on his size.
Tyler
Have there been any issues with the bat wobbling at the rubber part in the middle of the bat where the barrel meets the handle? Alex
The 2013 Easton S2 is one of our most popular bats. This wobbling issue sounds like a manufacturing problem. If this occurs, Easton will replace the bat.
Justin R
what is the difference between the 2013 S3 and the 2013 S2? ED
The 2013 S3 will be a one-piece alloy bat and the 2013 Easton S2 will be a two-piece bat with a composite handle and an alloy barrel.
Noah
My son is using a 2 3/4 16oz, 28 inch CF4 and hitting well with it. His new league says he can't use 2 3/4" so would this bat be a good fit? What size would I want for him? He is 9 years old, 74 lbs, and 4'6". Thanks. Conner
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 is an excellent choice for him. It it a balanced two-piece bat with great pop. Based on his height and weight we recommend a 29" 19 oz. bat.
Kara
I've had my bat for about 6 months and it has been working great. I went out for batting practice this week, took a couple of swings, and the cap on the top of the bat cracked and flew off. Why did this happen? Scott
The bat should still be under warranty through Easton. Here is their warranty number 1-888-259-1297. You can also ask them why it happened since they manufacture the bats.
Noah
What is difference, performance wise, between Easton S2 and S1 for the price difference? Ll
The barrel materials will be different on the S1 to the S2. The 2013 S1 will be a two-piece fully composite design. The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League bat will be two-piece but have a composite handle and alloy barrel. The S1 will require a period of break-in and the S2 will not. Both bats will be very balanced in swing weight and easy to swing.
Brandon
My son is 12 years old, 5'5'' and 110 pounds. He's been looking at the EXOGRID drop -5 and wanted to know if the XL1 has the 1.15 stamp for 13U. And which is better in your opinion? Travis
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League and the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X15 Senior League have the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp. If he is currently using the 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League -10, we would not recommend using a -5 bat at this time. The 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League would be a better choice for his age.
Kara
Does 2013 S2 have more pop than 2013 Easton S3? Thanks. justo
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League and the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 use the same alloy material in the barrel of the bat. The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 will have more flex than the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310.
Kara
Little League rules for the 50/70 divisions are a bit vague regarding hybrid bats. I see that full composite bats would need to be -3 and metal bats could be any drop. But, would this Easton S2 be allowed for LL 50/70 divisions since it has the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp? Tom
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League will be legal for play due to its alloy barrel.
Kevin
The S2 Easton bat, what is safe temperature to use in? Is mid 40's no good for a bat? Thanks, Tony. Tony
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League can be used in any temperature because it has an alloy barrel.
Kara
What size is best for a 5' 90 lb. 12 year old? How does this bat compare to the Marucci Elite? Which is better in your opinion? Nick
For someone your size you should be using a 30" bat. The Marucci Elite will be slightly more balanced than the Easton S2. You will see a slightly better performance out of the Marucci Elite.
Noah
What drop does the 32" 22 oz. model have? joj
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League bat has a -10 length to weight ratio or "drop".
Mac
My son is 5' and 102 lbs. He is playing for a travel baseball team and is interested in the big barrel Easton S or XL series -10 (S2 or XL2). Do you recommend a particular bat for him? I believe it hast to be USSSA marked on the taper of the bat. His desire is for more power, a home run hitter. K
The Easton S2 is a well balanced bat and is recommend if he has average to below average strength and swing speed. The Easton XL2 is more endloaded and is recommended if he has above average strength and swing speed.
Tyler
My son is 11 1/2, 4'7", weighing 90 lbs. He's been swinging a 30 drop 8 (much too heavy). I've found this bat in a 30 drop 10. Is that too long or heavy, or can he make the adjustment? They're holding the bat, so if you could reply ASAP, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Ball Mom
A 30" 20 oz. 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League would be the recommended size for his height and weight. It is a very balanced bat and should be able to adjust to the swing weight.
Kara
My son is just under 5 feet tall and weighs just about 100 lbs. He has always used light bats. From everything I read, he seems to be in between a 30 inch and a 31 inch bat. He has been using a 30 inch so far this season and in looking at him with a 31 inch, it looks to big for him. I am considering getting him the S2 with the 10 drop for use now but I am unsure as to whether a 30 or 31. Any suggestions? Bill
Going by a standard bat size chart, your son is on the border between a 30" and 31" model. If your son has below average swing speed and a lack of bat control with is current 31" bat, then I would recommend moving down to a 30" model for this season.
Tyler
Is this 2013 Easton S2 or the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League bat, permitted for Babe Ruth League? They must be BBCOR .50 approved? Also, which would you prefer if they are? Thanks! G-MAN
All Senior League bats like the 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League bat will not be BBCOR Certified. All BBCOR bats will be -3 in length to weight ratio. Check out the Adult BBCOR sizes in the CF5 and S2.
Brandon
My son is 13, 5 feet tall, and 110 pounds. He plays in travel ball. Would you recommend the Easton S2 Senior League or the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League? GMAN
With the height and weight given we suggest a 30" 20 oz. bat. The DeMarini CF5 would be better because it is a two-piece composite bat. Other then that the DeMarini CF5 and the 2013 Easton S2 will feel similar when you swing it.
Chad M.
Does this bat come in a model with a 2 3/4" barrel? Homerun Hitter
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League does not come in a model with a 2 3/4" barrel.
Marcus
My son was using a DeMarni CF5 2 1/4 barrel. He is now in 50/70 intermediate Little League and wants to use the Youth Big Barrel Easton S2. What is the difference between the feel of the Easton S2 and Easton S3? general tune
The 2013 Easton S2 is a two-piece bat that will have a alloy barrel but a composite handle. The Easton S3 will be a one-piece alloy bat. The Easton S2 being a two-piece will cut down on any stinging that can occur and it will add a flex to his swing.
Chad M.
My son has been wanting a big barrel bat. He is 10 years old and on the small side (70 lbs) and plays travel ball on an elite level team. He generally swings a -13 (30" 17 oz.). He is a good contact hitter, uses all the field, but not a lot of power (hits 2nd in order). Would it be better to go with a 28" 18 oz., which is closer to the weight he swings, or 29" 19 oz. which is closer to his length? He does stand close to the plate. Thanks for your response! Marinerfan
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League bat is a good bat that is a cross between contact and power. For your player I would suggest the 29" 19 oz. because he stands closer to the plate. He should have enough plate coverage and still be able to get good bat speed.
Robert
Are their any differences between the 2012 and 2013 year models of the Easton S2? Baseball dad in Louisville
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League has an upgraded composite handle from the 2012 Easton S2: SL11S210 Senior League. The 2012 model used IMX composite, whereas the 2013 has been upgraded to SIC black carbon composite.
Kevin
My son is 64 lbs. & 4' 8" tall. What size do you recommend? Also what would be the difference between this one and the S3? 2 5/8" is the biggest barrel diameter they can use. Kai
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League is a two-piece hybrid design with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League is a one-piece alloy. Both have a 2 5/8" barrel. We'd recommend a 29" based on his size.
Katie
My son is 13 years old, 5'4", and weighs 101 lbs. We are debating between the 30" 20 oz. and the 31" 21 oz. What do you recommend? Thanks. Steve
Our bat coach suggest a 31" bat for a player your sons size. He could move up or down an inch if it is more comfortable for him. The main thing is to get a size that he is very comfortable with.
Robert
Is this bat legal to use in 13-15 Babe Ruth baseball? rick
Yes, the 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League will be legal in 13-15 Babe Ruth baseball.
Noah
I am deciding between the S1 and this bat. I am a contact hitter, pretty small, 13 years old, 5'2" and 90 lbs. Which bat would be a better fit and what is the difference between the two bats? cooperstownbaseball
Both the S1 and the 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League bats will be very balanced and easy to swing. The difference will be in the bat design. They are both two-piece bats. The S1 is fully composite, while the S2 is half and half. The handle is composite while the barrel is alloy.
Brandon
Since I don't like composite bats I don't want to get the Easton S1. Does the Easton S2 or S3 have more pop than the other. Which one is least likely to break? cooperstown 22
Both the Easton S2 and Easton S3 have the same alloy barrel, so pop will be similar. The Easton S2 will have more flex because it is a two-piece bat.
Damon
I have been using a big barrel Demarini Vexxum for about 5 months and not doing great with it. I have been getting lots of line drives but they don't go to far. Does the Vexxum have more or less pop then the S2? Also, what's the difference from the S2 to the S3? personn
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League is very comparable with the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League, in terms of performance, design and balance. The S2 is a two-piece hybrid design, with an alloy barrel and composite handle; the S3 is a one-piece alloy.
Katie
How does the Easton S2 compare to the Vexxum -10 Big Barrel. Particularly the 2014. Balance, feel and sound? For my 11 year old son. Ryan
Both are great bats and will be similar. Both are two-piece balanced bats with composite handles and alloy barrels. Both would be good for contact hitters.
Damon
I'm 9 years old. I weigh 75 lbs and am 4' 10". What size should I order? Luke
A 30" model in the 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 would be a good size for you.
Damon
I'm 12 years old and weigh 110 pounds. What bat should I get an Easton S2 or an Easton XL1, and what dimensions? ac
If you need to increase your bat speed the 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League would be better suited for you. The Easton XL1 is designed for a power hitter.
Kara
I am 12 years old, 5'7" and weigh 145 lbs. When I use my Vexxum I am ahead of everything, would a 32" model in this bat be better? dededjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj

The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League and the Louisville Slugger Vertex will both be very balanced two-piece bats, which is going to be ideal for a contact hitter. You cannot go wrong with either of these bats.
Noah
Would you recommend the S2 or S3? xball
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League and the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 use the same high quality alloy in the barrel of the bat. They both have great pop. The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League will have more flex because of the two-piece design. It is designed for a contact hitter.
Kara
I'm thinking about getting this bat or the Easton S1. Last year I used a 32 inch DeMarini Vendetta. What do you think I should get? baseball is da bomb
The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League has the most similar design to the DeMarini Vendetta. It is a two-piece hybrid which means it has an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Easton S1 and S2 are very similar aside from the materials in their barrel.
Mac
I am a contact hitter. I have been using the Marucci Cat5 white bat (29/21.5). Do you recommend the Easton S1 or S2 bat? CC
Both the Easton S1 and S2 are good balanced bats. The Easton S1 will be higher performing as it is a two-piece composite, whereas the Easton S2 is a two-piece with a composite handle and alloy barrel.
Damon

Could you tell me what type of big barrel bat my son would need. He plays 11U baseball and is about 70lbs. I am not sure if he needs Youth, Jr, or a Senior bat? Also, he is thinking he needs 30" 20 oz, is that too heavy? Shannon Brooks
Your son will need a Youth Big Barrel bat, which is also known as Senior League. The 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League in a 30" 20 oz. would be perfect for your son.
Noah

2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League, can this bat be used in the 50\70 intermediate little league? frank
Yes. Composite-barreled baseball bats in this division, regardless of barrel size, must meet BBCOR standards, and must be so labeled. The Easton S2 has a composite handle but an alloy barrel, so it will be legal in this division.

My son just turned 10 and plays on an 11U team. He is about 58" and weighs a whoppin 71 lbs. He is a contact hitter from left hand side and hits for more power from the right hand side. We have an old Rival 28" 18 oz. -10 and want to get a new bat. Is the S2 a good option for him? Big Mac
The two-piece design of the 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League is best suited for a contact hitter. It is very balanced, and has great pop.
Kara
Are there any design differences between the 2013 Easton S2 and the 2014 Easton S2? Tim
Easton has not made any changes to materials or design between the 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League and the 2014 model, aside from color scheme.
Mac
Can you used the S2 in colder temperatures? John
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League, in temperatures below 55°F (13°C). In those temperatures, the ball becomes much more dense and could damage or shorten the useful life of your bat. Composite can crack, and alloy can dent, so neither material is proven to be better in cold weather, unfortunately.
Mac
How does this bat compare to the DeMarini Vexxum? baseballer
Both the 2013 Easton S2 (SL13S210) and the DeMarini Vexxum are going to be very similar. They are both balanced two-piece hybrids. Their swing weights will be comparable.

If your son plays in the Intermediate division of Little League baseball, this Easton S2 (SL13S210) Senior League bat is approved for play. It features a 2 5/8" alloy barrel, so it does not need to be a -3 BBCOR certified model. Concerning legality of any bat, our recommendation is to contact a coach or league director if possible.
Mac
I know the difference between the S1 and S2 are the barrels. Of the two, which would you say is easier to swing? Also, which model do you think has more pop? Joe
The Easton S2: (SL13S210) and Easton S1: (SL13S110) will both be extremely light and easy to swing. The speed series is very balanced, and the even weight distribution makes it very easy to generate a faster bat swing. In terms of performance, the biggest difference will be the overall construction and materials. The Easton S1: (SL13S110) will be a two-piece full composite. This model will provide some pretty good flex, and the materials will continually get hotter throughout its lifetime. The Easton S2: (SL13S210) will be a hybrid design. This construction will include an alloy barrel and a composite handle. The alloy barrel will be extremely hot at first, but the performance will eventually decrease throughout its lifetime. In terms of pop, both of these bats will be high performing. Ultimately, it will come down to your preference of materials. Composite material tends to start out performing slowly, but heats up, whereas alloy starts out hot, but then fades out during its lifetime.
Merritt

Patrick
What model would be better, the 2013 or 2014? mr.baseball
The Easton S2 (SL13S210 Senior League) would be very high performing no matter if you get the 2012, 2013, or 2014 model. The design has not changed over the past seasons. The last few years they upgraded the composite handle to get the hitter a more comfortable feel. The outer color graphics have changed slightly over the years though.
Brandon

If you like a more end-loaded feel I would go with the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) if you like a more balanced design I would go with the Easton S2 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL13S210). Both are great options. The preference would come down to which feel you like better.
Patrick
