Description

New for The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The S3 features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Great balance. My son swings and hits with this bat like he never has before. It's much heavier than his old bat but the balance is perfect and he gets it through the zone quickly.

Cons: Not sure I love the colors but that's really minor.

Pros: My 8 year old was topping the ball, and I wanted this bat to give him a bigger "sweet spot". After a couple of cage sessions, he hit a home run in his first practice- way out of the yard about 150 feet. No other 8 year old has done that all season. Nuff said.

Pros: good pop. its rare to find a -10 big barrel. a teammate of mine has a -11 louisville slugger and it has no pop in it. its great since demarini doesn't make -10 big barrel and this bat feels like a minus 11. my friend used this and in his first game with it he only missed the cycle by the single! no joke!

Cons: paint gets damaged quickly. in 2 games it has a lot of spots and 1 paint smear and same colors as last year's model. also you might have to buy a replacement grip

THE MISSING LINK SCOTT GRODEMAN parent

Pros: I never complete understood why there were so many different bats, different construction materials -- on and on...until my son used this bat for the first time. He went from a "consistent on base" hitter to an uncommon power hitter. The only thing that changed was this bat. This bat is the missing link!

Cons: ABSOLUTELY NO CONS TO THIS BAT.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL13S310? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What are the differences between the new 2013 S series (and power brigade series in general including the XL series) and last year's models? Ed
The aluminum and composite in the barrels will be the same of the S series and XL series will be the same. The main benefit to the 2013 models is the S1, S2, XL1, and XL2 will feature Easton' s new SIC Black Carbon Composite handle.
Tom
What is the difference between this bat and the S3:SL11S310B? Boe
The only difference is the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 has a 2 5/8 inch barrel and the SL11S10B has a 2 3/4 inch barrel.
Kara
Ok so im 12 and im 5feet 7.5inches and I used the 2012 Easton S3 for my last season of little league and i really liked it. Next year ill be in junior league(13-14) should i get the 2013 Easton S3? Would it feel the same? big guns
Yes. The 2013 Easton S3 would be recommended and it has similar feel and balance to last year's model. It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.
Tyler
If i had the 2012 Easton S3 and had succsess should i get the 2013 Easton S3 or the 2013 DeMarini CF5? grandslammer
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Thus, the S3 is recommended.
Tyler
I'm 12 looking for a bat for middle school. I weigh 75 pounds and my height is 4'8". What bat do you think I should get for spring baseball? joseph
The Easton S3 would be an excellent option for you because it is a very high performing one-piece fully aluminum bat. The Easton S3 is a very balanced bat which will give you great bat control.
Tom
Will the new Easton S3 (2 5/8" barrel) be legal in Pony baseball? aggieed
The **PRE-BOOK** 2013 Easton S3 is legal in Pony baseball.
Kara
What are the differences between the 2012 and 2013 models? gonza
Both the 2012 and 2013 Easton S3 Senior League models feature the same THT100 Scandium Alloy. Easton updated the composite in the handle in the 2013 S1, S2, XL1, and XL2 for improved durability.
Aubrey
What weight would be good for an 8 year old who is going to be 9 with a regular body type? mary
Based on age, we recommend the Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League bat in a 29" 19 oz. model. For more information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
Pony has a new rule about non wood bats that says any bat that has a bpf of 1.15 or lower must be stamped with the 1.15 the year and approved for pony league. Does the 2013 S3 SL13s310 comply? Scott
Yes, the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League bat does have the new USSSA stamp with the 1.15 BPF on it as well. It is located on the taper of the barrel. This stamp will look like a thumb print.
Brandon
What is the optimal tempature to use these bats. Are they just as effective in cold weather? Fe
With most bats, it's recommended you exercise caution when using them in temperatures below 55 or 60 degrees. The Easton S3 will still perform just as good in colder weather, but because the core of the baseball becomes harder in colder temperature, it can increase the chances of damaging the bat.
Tyler
My son will be 8 in March and is playing travel ball. He weigh about 90lbs and is powerful. What length to weight ratio should we be looking into? Ajsdad
We would need to know his height as well as the length and weight of his current bat, and his swing speed and bat control with that size bat. Feel free to contact us at 1-866-321-2287 or support@justbats.com.
Tyler
Will this 2013 SL13S310 -10 be legal for 2013 Babe Ruth 13 - 14? rhc43
Yes. The 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 is a full alloy bat that is legal in Babe Ruth.
Tyler
What bat would you recommend for a 10 year old that's 4'6" and 81 pounds. baller11
The 2013 Easton S3 would be an excellent choice. It is a one-piece that is full alloy and it is very well balanced. For that height and weight, I would recommend a 29'' 19 oz. bat.
Chad
Why do you recommend a 2 3/4 bat over a 2 5/8 bat? Max
2 3/4" bats will offer a larger hitting surface. So, if you prefer a larger barrel with a "more room for error", a 2 3/4" bat would be recommended.
Tyler
Is this bat legal for play in 2013 Little League, Junior League? bfb
Yes. The 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 is legal in the Junior Division of Little League.
Tyler
My 8 year old boy is 4'3'' and 65 lbs, is the 28'' 18 oz. 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League bat a good fit? Also he's playing Pony League Pinto Division, is this bat legal? Ben
The 28" 18 oz. 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League will be a perfect size for your son and meets all the requirements for play in Pony League.
Kevin
My son is 4'2 65 pounds 8 years old he swings a 28"18 oz. and it's a perfect fit. He has last years S1 28"18 oz. and last years XL3 27"17 oz. I bought the new Omaha XL YB136XL Junior Big Barrel 28"18 oz. this year to replace the 27"17 oz. but it's terrible. Every time he hits a ball solid it burns his hands up. I like to keep an alloy or aluminum bat for when the temps are low. What is your recommendation? I was thinking about this years S3 Senior League or the XL3 Youth. Do you have any better options? Chaos
The 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 will be balanced like the 2013 Easton S1. The 2013 Easton XL3: YB13X3 is end loaded and is better suited for a power hitter.
Kara
Will this bat or the 2013 Easton S2 BBCOR be more balanced? a2k
Both the 2013 Easton S2 and S3 will be equally balanced bats.
Noah
Is this bat will be legal for Arapahoe Youth League in Colorado this season? My son plays 9AA. KWM
Since it has the new USSSA 1.15 stamp on it, the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League is legal for play in the Arapahoe Youth League.
Marcus
Is it alright to use this bat in batting cages with the yellow dimple balls? Steve
In general, we do not recommend using the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League or any other bat in batting cages that use the yellow dimple balls.
Marcus
Is there a need to break in this bat? Bubba
No. The 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 is an alloy bat that does not require a break-in period.
Tyler
My son is almost 12 yrs old and plays select ball. We are looking at the 2013 Easton S3 and the 2013 Easton S1. He has used the Worth Prodigy and Worth Legit in the past and had good success. Wondering which is preferred, composite or aluminum? JMN
If he has had success with an all alloy bat like the Worth Prodigy, we recommend the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League.
Kara
Did Easton change the barrel size (or anything else) in the 2013 model? I just purchased a 2013 but I've only swung an older model before. Jack
Easton only changed the cosmetics of the bat slightly on the 2013 model. Everything else about both bats is identical.
Noah
I am 13 and 5'8",132 lbs. What size should I get, 31" or 32"? bretthejet
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League bat. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
My son is 8 years old and weighs 48 lbs. What is the best 2 3/4" bat for him? I was thinking that it would be at 28" 16oz but then thought about the 29" 19oz. He is about 4' and has just started to grow. Kyle
The 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League bat would be a good choice for your son's age. Your son's upper body strength would be the best determination on the weight of bat to use. You could lean towards a 28" 18oz, to be on the side of caution.
Robert
I am 13 and weigh 70 pounds and I am 4'8". Should I get a drop 10 30 inch bat 2013 Easton S3:SL135310 Senior League? jcbbaseball
A 30" 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League would be an excellent choice for your height and weight. It is a very balanced bat with great pop.
Kara
Is this bat 2 5/8" diameter? cjr
Yes, the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League bat is a 2 5/8" barrel bat.
Robert
Is this bat 2 5/8" in diameter? cjr
The 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League has a 2 5/8" barrel. The 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310B Senior League has a 2 3/4" barrel.
Katie
I have a 12 year old that weighs about 135 pounds. He has always been a strong hitter. He currently has a 30" drop 9 COMbat Grifter. He hit a friend's S1 31" Drop 10 this weekend and smashed the ball. I am thinking of getting one but I want the alloy so he can use in both Little League (playing 50/70) and USSSA. Will he notice a big difference between the S1 composite and the S3 Alloy? Also, what is your thought about going from a 30" Drop 9 to a 31" Drop 10 is the weight is the same? saw
A 30" -9 will be 21 oz. A 31" -10 will be 21 oz. They will end up being the same weight. The -10 will add an extra inch to his bat length. The S1 and the S3 will have very similar pop. You will be pleased with the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League bat.
Brandon
I realize both the Easton S2 and S3 (2 5/8")are balanced bats. Will they both have the same feel through the swing or will one "feel" lighter than the other? JB
The Easton S2 will have more flex in its swing due to the composite handle. Aside from that, they should feel nearly identical.
Kevin
What is the coldest temperature the bat can be used at? Lepow
We suggest that you don't use the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League below temperatures of 60 degrees if you don't have too. Wood bats will hold up the best in the colder climate.
Chad M.
I compared the Easton S3 and the Easton S1 and they had the same length, but the Easton S2 felt like the head was heavier. I even noticed the balance points seemed different, indicating that the Easton S2 had more weight in the head than the Easton S3. Would that be accurate? Brad Y
All of the Easton's speed series will all balance the same. The Easton XL series would have more of a end-load. We have never heard of this being a issue.
Chad M.
My son is a 8 years old and weighs 53 lbs and is 49" tall. He currently uses a 2 5/8" Easton Stealth Speed that is 29" 19 oz. Which of the new Easton bats is the most similar? I think it is the S2. If not which one? Will the new Speed Series be equal in balance and swing speed? Which bat and size do you recommend for him? I believe the bat coach says that he needs a 28" bat. If he goes down to a 28" S2 or S3, will it have a negative effect on his swing or bat speed? Jason
The Easton S1 replaced the Easton Stealth Speed. The S1 will actually have a slightly lighter swing weight than the Stealth Speed, which means a player should have faster swing speed with the S1. Based on his size, and previous bat, a 29" 19 oz. bat is still recommended. It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Thus, I recommend going with the S1 over the S2 or S3. It's never recommended a player move down in bat weight as this can hinder their progress as they get older and have to start using heavier bats.
Tyler
Is the SL13S310 31" 24 oz. bat BBCOR certified? Deb
No, the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League is a USSSA bat. The BBCOR model is the 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult.
Noah
We are restricted to USSSA 1.15 bats. Does this fit that category? Mike
The 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League bat features the new USSSA thumbprint stamp as shown on the bat images on the website.
Aubrey
Hi is there a break-in procedure for the S3? Also, can the bat be used in colder weather? steve
The 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League features an alloy barrel and does not require a break-in period. Also, we do not recommend using any bat in temperatures below 65 degrees Fahrenheit. The ball becomes much more dense and could damage the bat.
Mac
My son current uses a 32/22 Combat B3. He has had good success with the bat and likes the feel. He is looking for a big barrrel for a couple of tournaments this season and to use next fall in Babe Ruth. Would the S2 or S3 be closer in feel to his B3? Also would you recommend staying with the same size bat when going to a big barrel? JW
Both the Easton S2 and the Easton S3 are very balanced and will have a similar swing weight to the COMBAT B3. It is always a good idea to go up at least an inch and an ounce every time you purchase a new bat.
John H
Is this bat legal for Babe Ruth 13-15 division. Neal
The 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League has the USSSA 1.15 Stamp and will be legal for play in Babe Ruth 13-15 division. Only composite bats have to be BBCOR certified.
John H
I am doing my first year of high school ball and am wondering if this bat is better or the Louisville Slugger EXOGRID 3? rs
The 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League is not legal in high school. The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult is legal and is a good choice for a power hitter. The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX EXOGRID 3 BBCOR: BB13EX Adult is better for a contact hitter because the composite inserts provide more flex.
Kara
What size bat should I use? I'm 12 years old, 140 pounds, and 5' 9". BIGS
We would recommend a 33" model of the 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League bat. For future bat sizing information, check out our Bat Coach tool: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Mac

Katie
What is difference between Easton SL13S310B and SL13S310 models? Pete
The Easton SL13S310B has a 2 3/4" barrel and the Easton SL13S310 model has a 2 5/8" barrel.
Damon
How long does it take to break in this model? Des
The 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League bat features an alloy barrel and therefore doesn't require a break in period.
Aubrey
What is the difference between SL13S310 and SL13S310(B). What does the B stand for and the pros and cons between the two bats? BBall Player
The Easton S3 SL13S310 has a 2 5/8" barrel, whereas model SL13S310B has a 2 3/4" barrel. Both bats are the same, one has a slightly larger barrel.
Damon

Noah
My grandson is 12 and 5'5" and weighs 135 lbs. What type and weight of bat should he use? pin

My nephew is 8 yrs old and will be moving up to kid pitch. Trying to decide between Easton S series or DeMarini Voodoo. What would you recommend. He's prob close to 4'9 95 lbs. I'm looking at 30 inch and light and balanced with good pop. Chuck R.
The 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League will be more balanced and lightweight than the DeMarini Voodoo. It is very high performing.

I have 2 8yr old twins who are looking at this bat. I am told that the "big barrel" is the way to go. Is the, 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League the way to go? I was aiming at the 27" 17oz. He is 49" tall and about 55lbs. abcflorida

My son is 11, about to be 12. He is 5 feet 2 inches and weighs 110 pounds. Just want to know what size bat to buy. And, can you use big barrels in Dixie League? BIG A
Based on your son's height and weight, we recommend a 31" bat. Bats with 2 5/8" are allowed in a few divisions in Dixie Baseball, but this 2013 Easton S3: SL13S310 Senior League bat is only approved for the Junior Dixie division.

My son just turned 10 years old. He is 4'9" and weighs 95lbs. He has just come from a pretty competitive house ball league. He just started playing with an 11u travel ball team. He is not the biggest kid out there, but he is strong and he wants to produce more bat head speed. Any suggestions? 1st base
The Easton S3 is a great balanced bat for someone seeking better bat speed. You may also consider the Rawlings 5150 or the DeMarini Vexxum which are also well balanced.

Noah
Is this bat legal for 11-12 year old Little League (majors division)? nickel
Easton S3 (SL13S10) would not be legal for the Majors Division according to our records. It looks like the league requires a 2 1/4" barrel diameter and the Easton S3 (SL13S10) has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter. I would verify with a league official or coach to be sure.
