Description

The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The S3 features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty.

Cons: I had the 2013 model and they sent me this bat for warranty because of dents. After a week, the bat was practically triangle with dents . Now, I have the 2 3/4 bat and it doesn't dent...as bad.

Best bat ever Joe coach

Pros: My boys have had a lot of bats including the voodoo and vexxum by demarini but this easton bat rocks, the weight throughout the bat is perfect. Both my boys put aside their demarini bats for this one. This bat is a must buy for 2014.

great bat with pop jmt parent

Pros: my 6yo son was using the combat B4 green bat which he used all last year and most of this year. The bat was a 26/14 but i felt it was time to move to a drop 10 and what a difference. The ball is flying so much further now that he has a little extra weight. He is Shetland (pony) so they still dont use real baseballs, but the bat is great he is usiong the 26/16

Great Bat, but it does Dent Gonzo22 parent

Pros: My son has been playing travel ball for 3 years solid. He has had the Mako, the S1, and the S3. My son is a medium sized kid, has some power. As much as I wanted him to swing the Mako, the S3 has been the best bat for him, hands down. 1) Well balanced, and a lot of pop 2) Even though it does dent, Easton backs it 100% 3) Even with the denting, I'd buy another one

Cons: Only negative is the denting. We live in CA, so it's not cold weather causing it, it dents, period. Only other Con is from the time you submit for an RMA to Easton, to the time you get the replacement bat, it can take 2 weeks.

S3 is mediocre. The S1 and S2 are better The (Baseball) Batman player

Pros: Cheaper than the S1 and S2, has good pop, and seems well balanced.

Cons: The S1 and S2 are way better in general. This bat dents easily, which can be really disappointing (it happened to one of my friends). It also vibrates badly when not hit on the sweet spot. For the following reasons, I recommend the S2 big barrel if you want to play in a league with no composite barrels, or the S1 in tournaments. All of these bats come in 2 1/4 in barrel diameter and in big-barrel style.

Dents! Dents! Dents! Ashley parent

Pros: The ball really pops off of the bat. Customer service was about as wonderful as they could be.

Cons: My son is 8, and although he is a heavy hitter - the bat was dented the first time he practiced with it. We bought the bat on a Tuesday night and paid extra to ensure it was to us by the Friday before out last weekend tournament. We had the bat by Thursday and it was dented by Friday night. Due to it being a weekend and the (understandable) shipping policies, there was no way to get a replacement in time for the game. My son was not allowed to use it in his tournament that weekend, so I pretty much bought it for nothing. I wouldn't buy this bat again. I hope customer service is ready to deal with me every time it dents :)

Dent Craig parent

Pros: bat does have pop

Cons: Way too easy to dent. Received bat yesterday and my 10 year old took 10 - 15 cuts at practice in 85 degree weather and came back to the dugout glowing at how awesome he hit the ball. Then we felt the bat and it already had a flat spot.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL14S310? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Would this be a good 8U club ball kid pitch bat? DC
Yes, the 2014 Easton S3: SL14S310 Senior League is one of our most popular models. The S3 is very balanced, high performing, and durable.
Justin R.
Would the SL14S310 be a good bat for an 11U Team? Or would the SL14S210 be a better Bat for the 11U Team? R'3 Baseball
The 2014 Easton S3: SL14S310 Senior League and SL14S210 would both be great options for that age of player. Both models have very balanced swing weights that will allow the players to achieve higher swing speeds. The S3 is a one-piece alloy, and the S2 is a two-piece hybrid. The two-piece hybrid can help increase trampoline effect on contact for players with average swing speed, and its composite handle will help eliminate sting on mishit balls.
Mac
How does this S3 differ from the 2 3/4 inch barrel S3 aside from barrel diameter? Ed
The only difference between the 2014 Easton S3: SL14S310 Senior League and the 2014 Easton S3: SL14S310B Senior League is the barrel diameter.
Kara
What Easton bat is similar to the past Easton Rival bat? My son wants a one-piece alloy bat that has the same feel of his Rival bat. Rock
The 2014 Easton S3 (SL14S310) replaced the Easton Rival. The alloy has been upgraded for better durability. The performance is comparable to the Easton Rival.
Kara
What is the difference between the 2013 Easton S3 and the 2014 Easton S3? jeanie
The 2014 Easton S3 (SL14S310) Senior League and the 2013 S3 are identical bats other than the color scheme.
Jason
Will this bat damage in the batting cages? jeanie
The 2014 Easton S3 (SL14S310) Senior League bat is safe to use in batting cage sessions. However, we do not recommend using any of our bats to hit yellow dimpled batting cage balls. The bats we sell are designed to hit approved baseballs only. The yellow cage balls can cause unforeseen damage and durability issues with the bat.
Patrick
Will this bat dent easily? tyson
Judging by the feedback with this bat (SL14S310), it has pretty positive reviews regarding the durability. It all depends how the bat is being used. I would recommend not to turn this bat into a "team bat" that way it doesn't take up a lot of use. I would also limit using the bat under 50 degree weather.
Zach
Is bat approved for 50/70 division? hank
Yes, the 2014 Easton S3 (SL14S310) will be considered legal for play in the 50/70 Division of Little League.
Tessa L.
My son is 43 pounds and 3'10" and is in coach pitch. He wants the 2014 Easton S3 SL14S310 but I think the 2014 Easton Mako JBB14MK Junior Big Barrel or Mako T-ball bat would be better. What do you suggest? Coleman
The 2014 Easton S3 (SL14S310) is a great bat but I am afraid that bat will be too heavy for your son for coach pitch. It could slow his swing down and alter his swinging mechanics. I would suggest going with the 2014 Easton MAKO (JBB14MK). We are out of stock in the size I would suggest in the 27" 15 oz. you could go with a 26" 14 oz. which would be an inch shorter and ounce lighter.
Zach
Is this bat legal for dixie youth? john
The 2014 Easton S3 (SL14S310) will be legal for the "O" Zone, Junior Dixie, Pre-Majors and Majors divisons of Dixie Youth Baseball. It will be illegal for the younger divisions.
Bobby
My son is 12 and a pretty big kid. Hard to describe him as either a power or contact hitter as he seems able to be both (hits some over, hits a lot into deep gaps). He's having to drop down from 2 3/4" to 2 5/8" for league play. Would you recommend the S1 or the S3? rbl
The balanced one-piece design of the 2014 Easton S3 (SL14S310) is a great option for a contact or power hitter.
Kara
When should you not use this bat? jaydon hayes
We do not recommend using the 2014 Easton S3 (SL14S310) in temperatures under 55 degrees.
Bobby
Of the S1,S2 and S3 series bats which is more durable? T.R.
From the Easton Power Brigade Speed Series, the 2014 Easton S1 (SL14S110), 2014 Easton S2 (SL14S210), and the 2014 Easton S3 (SL14S310) will be very similar in terms of durability. All three are considered very durable high quality designs. The S1's composite design would have a slight advantage in terms of prolonged high level performance.
Patrick
A couple of reviews mention that the bat dents. I would hate to pay $200 for a bat with that type of durability. If it dents, is it covered by warranty? Blue Spaders
Yes, the 2014 Easton S3 Senior League (SL14S310) has a full twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty.
Kyle J.
Is the SL14S310 legal to use in Babe Ruth leagues? My son is 13. tarajo23
Yes, the 2014 Easton S3 (SL14S310) will be legal for the 13-15 year old a division of Babe Ruth.
Bobby
what is the diameter of the barrel? baseball baller
The 2014 Easton S3 (SL14S310) will have a 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
Bobby
What is the performance difference between a one-piece bat, and a two-piece bat? cr7707
A one-piece model such as the 2014 Easton S3: (SL14S310) is going to be a little bit stiffer. Generally, this type of construction is preferred by a power player. A two-piece design is going to provide a little bit of added flex, and is generally preferred by contact/gap hitters.
Merritt
Is this bat composite? johnny baseball
The 2014 Easton S3 (SL14S310) Senior League bat features a fully alloy design. The S1 would be the fully composite model in the Easton Speed Series.
Mac
What is the difference between the XL1 and the S3? catcher
The difference between the Easton XL1 and the Easton S3 (SL14S310) is going to be the weight distribution as well as the construction on both bats. The XL1 will be a two piece full composite bat with an end loaded feel. The S3 is a one piece full alloy bat with a balanced feel.
Sean
What bat is the most like this bat but in a drop 8? noah
Either the 2014 Easton S400 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14S400) or the 2015 RIP-IT AIR Senior League Baseball Bat (B1508) would be the most similar in design to the 2014 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14S310) that would be available in a -8.
Patrick
What's the difference between the 2015 S3 and this one? me
The 2015 Easton S3 (SL15S310) Senior League bat will feature a brand new alloy (Hyperlite Matrix Alloy which improves durability, bat speed, and power) and color scheme. Feel free to check it out here: http://www.justbats.com/product/2015-easton-s3-senior-league-baseball-bat--sl15s310/21221/.
Mac
Does the the 2015 Mako feel similar to this bat? Johnny baseball
No. The 2014 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14S310) is a one-piece alloy design and the 2015 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK9) is a two-piece composite design so they will have very different feels.
Patrick
Is this a good alternative to the MAKO if i'm looking for a 25" bat w/ a 2 5/8" barrel? The 25" MAKO barrel is bigger at 2 3/4" which is not allowed by our league. Yvonne
The 2014 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14S310) in the 25"/15 oz. length may be too heavy for the player for which you are looking. I would suggest viewing the Easton S400 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB14S400) as it is a 25" bat with a -11 drop weight (not exactly the same as the -12 drop offered by the 25" MAKO). Also, it is made of alloy as opposed to the MAKO which is made of composite, but I think this is your best 25" option. However if you prefer a composite model to be similar to the MAKO, this will be the most comparable that we have to offer.
Ben
My son is 6, but in his last year of coach pitch and I want to get him a big barrel bat he can transition into kid pitch with. brenden
The Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14S310) features a 2 5/8" barrel diameter and a drop 10. The issue that you may run into is that most kid pitch or "youth" divisions require a 2 1/4" barrel diameter. There are several divisions that allow a big barrel model. It is difficult to recommend a model, without knowing what he has swung in the past. Typically, we would recommend a single piece or end-loaded model for power hitters, and a two piece or balanced model for contact to gap hitters.
Joe
The one that you sell that is used, is there anything wrong with it? Why is it specified as used? shall79
We often test some of the bats like the Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14S310) here in our facility to get familiarized with them. If they are still in good condition once we are done, we sometimes offer them as used options. We reduce the price due to the use and that they are unable to have a warranty associated since they have been previously used.
Patrick
What is the difference between the S1 and S3? suze
The Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14S310) is a single-piece alloy model. The Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14S110) is a two-piece composite design. Both the material and construction are different.
Patrick
I'm looking at the 2015 DeMarini Overlord and this one. Which one do you recommend? baseball pro
Both of these are good quality bats, however they differ in composition. The Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL14S310 has a one-piece, alloy design and a balanced swing weight. The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVDR has a two-piece, hybrid design (composite handle, alloy barrel) and is slightly end-loaded.
