Cracked on the first 50 swings Mike parent

Pros: I don't have a lot of good things to say about this bat. It cracked within 50 swings of batting practice. Barrel seemed small and not a great deal of pop. There are much better bats for this price range. I did like the balanced feel of it.

Cons: Cracked on the first 50 swings Small Barrel

Easton S3 switch Shamrock parent

Pros: The bat must be better balanced or just a better fit for my son. Switched from a Marucci One and my 8 yr old is hitting the ball harder, further and more often. Confidence has really jumped in a short period of time as well. Great looking bat but does get marked up pretty quick which We don't care about.

Cons: Too early to have any issues right now.

Dented THorn parent

Pros: Seemed to have larger sweet spot than the 2014

Cons: Just like the 2014 model already denting and flattening out. My son is 10 and was hoping to get more life out of the new and improved version. Guess not. Time to give the Marucci hex alloy a try.

Nice Bat but lacks durability Vortex41 parent

Pros: Bat feels and looks great. It also has decent pop and a nice balance. Good bat for younger players but will last you one season if you have a kid that can really hit the ball.

Cons: After about 6 games my son noticed some minor dings in the bat. Normally he plays with 2 5/8 but we wanted to see what he could do with a 2 3/4 so we got this bat. Unfortunately, he is at an age and power range that is going to be too much for the bat. We'll be lucky to get one season out of it. I called Justbats and based on his age (just turned 13) - they recommended dropping back down to a 2 5/8 to get more strength in the bat. We are going to send it back to Easton and see if they will send us the smaller barrel. Too - bad, I think the extra 1/8 inch was helping a little with eliminating pop flies. In our tournament last weekend - he was 6 inches short of sending it over the fence at the 245 marker. Bat Size 32" / 22 oz. (12U Player)

great all around bat for 1 season Patric parent

Pros: Both my 13 year old and 9 year old prefer this bat. It is a great balanced bat and has as much pop as any bat that they have used. The only down side is they dent up pretty easily. My 65 pound 9 year olds dented slightly in the first cage session after about 40 swings. They are only going to make it through one select season but they are low cost.

Good bat Caleb coach

Pros: It's been ok for my son so far, he's smallish (4'4"/80lb) so I got the 29/19. Haven't seen a rocket it off it yet and my son is a good hitter.

Cons: 29/19 with a 2 3/4 probably not recommended. I would stay with a 2 5/8 at that length.

Not a better value bat out there in 2016 Coach Review coach

Pros: the price (now discounted) relative to pop equation for this bat is tremendous. purchased a 30/20 for my 11U son as a safeguard if his premium (high priced) bat broke or if it was too cold to swing composite. well, his CF7 cracked and so now this is his go-to. he has total confidence in it. nice balance, nice grip, thinner down by the handle so it whips thru the zone a lot faster than some other 2 3/4" bats. has that nice ping sound Easton bats are known for. Fantastic pop for an inexpensive one-piece, my son has hit 2 out with it.

Cons: not many. some occasional vibration - especially if the player is used to swinging a 2 piece. the handle part of the barrel is thin and it takes a little longer to spread out to 2 3/4" (in comparing to other bats of similar size).

S3 is Ole Reliable Corey B parent

Pros: My 9 year old had hit several homers on 200 foot fields with this bat. Granted he is a big strong kid who puts his time in, and has homers with other bats as well, but the Easton S3 is reliable, and has great 'pop'.

Cons: I know this bat will eventually dent but ALL aluminum 2 3/4 swung by big hitters will dent. If it lasts two seasons with these big hits, I will be pleased.

Best Bat we've owned E. Berry parent

Pros: Long lasting, my son got this bat when he was in 8U. In both his 9U year and 10U year he went back to this bat to get out of hitting slumps. Since then we've tried the DiMarini Vexxum and the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite. But the 2015 S3 has been the superior bat.

Mac
It shows the bat barrel being 2 3/4", but I heard they are actually 2 5/8". Can you please verify? s3 easton
Easton produces the S3 Senior League bat with both barrel diameters. This 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) has a 2 3/4" barrel diameter, but the (SL15S310) has the 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
Mac
A lot of people had issues with the 2014 S3 denting. Will the 2015's have the same issues? jamie
We unfortunately could not predict the durability of the 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B), but this new model will be constructed of the new Hyperlite Matrix Alloy which should help with durability. And as a safeguard, these models will also be backed by 12 month warranties through Easton.
Mac
How will the new 2015 Easton S3 compare to the Rip It in terms of swing weight and R2 alloy versus Hyperlite alloy? Q
The 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) and the 2015 RIP-IT AIR Senior League Baseball Bat (B1510B) compare extremely well in all aspects of design and performance. Preference between the two would come down to brand preference and aesthetics.
Patrick
What are the differences between the 2015 Easton S3 and S2? Sam
The 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) will be a one-piece fully alloy design. It will have a 2 3/4" barrel diameter. The Easton S2 will be a half and half design. It will have a composite handle and an alloy barrel. Both bats will have similar swing weights and will feel very balanced.
Brandon
How does the Easton S3 Senior League 2 3/4" barrel compare to the Marucci Camo Senior League 2 3/4"? Derek
The 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) and the 2015 Marucci Camo Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBRTX1014) will swing very similar. Both are one-piece fully alloy models with a balanced swing weight. Also, both feature the same 12 month manufacturer's warranty.
Brandon
Is this bat basically a one piece aluminum MAKO? bomb dropper
The 2015 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK10B) and the 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) are both balanced bats with a 2 3/4 inch barrel in the power brigade series but they are very different other than that. The MAKO is a two-piece composite with an extended barrel size and the S3 is a one piece alloy that would have a less extended barrel.
Patrick
How does the 2015 Easton S3 compare to the Rawlings 5150? ball killer
The 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) and Rawlings 5150 are very comparable designs. Both are balanced, one-piece, and fully alloy. One bat isn't proven to outperform the other, and both Rawlings and Easton are top manufacturers.
Mac
My son has used a -10 senior league bat for the past several years. He is 10. I have considered getting him a youth bat, but really don't want to spend another $200 if it doesn't perform at the same level as a senior league bat. My question is; has JustBats done any analysis or can you provide an opinion on the performance comparison between a $200 youth bat vs. a $200 senior league bat? Is it time to change?
Both Senior League and Youth model bats will be rated with the USSSA 1.15 BPF (Bat Performance Factor) standard. This means that the way they are tested and the maximum batted ball speeds that they can create will be the same in terms of material and compression. However, the Senior League bats like the 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) have a larger surface area to provide more room for error and usually will be heavier. The heavier the bat is (as long as the player can swing it well) the more power it will produce. For those reasons, as well as the faster pitch speeds usually associated as the players graduate to the senior league style bats usually will seem to perform at a higher level.
Patrick
What is the difference between this bat and the Easton S3 SL14S310B? promeo
The 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) will feature a new and updated alloy material. It will allow for better bat speeds compared to the previous year's model.
Brandon
Why the 2 different model numbers? One has a "B" at the end, and the other does not. Crafty
The 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) and (SL15S310) are actually two different models. The only difference between them will be the barrel diameter. The (SL15S310B) has a 2 3/4" barrel diameter while the (SL15S310) offers the slightly smaller 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
Mac
Does this bat dent easily when hitting? Hollywood
There's no real way to tell how easily the 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) will dent. That depends on factors such as use and hitting power.
Chinyere
What is the difference in the 2 5/8" barrel and the 2 3/4" barrel besides the size? Danny
There will be no difference between the 2 3/4" 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) and the 2 5/8" 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310). The only difference that will exist is that the 2 3/4" S3 will provide slightly more hitting surface.
Ben
What is the difference between the Easton Mako and the S3? Sam
The 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) is a one-piece alloy design bat whereas the 2015 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK10B) is a two-piece composite design.
Liz
Will Easton be making a 2015 XL3 drop 10 to replace the 2014? Dave
The Easton XL3 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X3) was actually a -11 and the 2015 Easton XL3 Youth Baseball Bat (YB15X3) is very similar by design but it features the upgraded Hyperlite Matrix alloy.
Patrick
Does the Easton S3 Senior League model SL 15S310B have a break in period and if so what does it consist of? Mike
The 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) does not consist of a break in period.
Frankie
Is there a difference between the new S3 Junior Big Barrel and the S3 Senior League Big Barrel? P
The 2015 Easton S3 Junior Big Barrel Baseball Bat (JBB15S3B) is designed for coach pitch and the 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) is designed for kid pitch.
Frankie
Is the junior big barrel thinner than the senior league, or are there any other differences? matt
The Junior Big Barrel models are designed with thinner walls in order to maximize the performance for younger players. These bats are designed to be at velocities below 35-40 MPH. The Senior League or Youth Big Barrel models are designed with thicker walls to enhance the durability of the bat as well as provide excellent performance against faster ball velocities. If you used a JBB model against live pitching, it is very likely that it will crack or snap.
Joe
Does the 2015 S3 have a bigger sweet spot than the black 2013 model? Mac
Yes. The upgraded Hyperlite Matrix alloy used on the 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) allowed Easton to increase the sweet spot size compared to the Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL13S310B).
Patrick
Is this bat BBCOR certified? samiam22
The 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp and it is not BBCOR certified.
Jason
What is the coldest temperature recommended for using this bat? tk4
We do not recommend using the 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B, or any non-wood bat, in temperatures below 55 degrees.
Marcus
My son is 10 years old. He is 5 feet and weighs 120 lbs. What size bat do you recommend for him? Rags
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B in a 30 inch 20 ounce model.
Cameron
What is the difference between the SL15S310B and SL15S310S? Both 30" drop 10. danny
The difference between the Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B and the Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310 is going to be the barrel diameter. The Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B will feature a 2 3/4 inch barrel diameter while the Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310 will have a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter. Other than that, these two bats are exactly the same in construction and design.
Cameron
My son is 11, 5 feet tall and weighs 70 pounds. Which bat do you recommend? Marc A

Angelique
My son is 13 years old 130 pounds and 4'11". What length and weight bat do you recommend? Evan

Angelique

If I understand correctly, this bat is intended for kid pitch, but is it also appropriate for coach pitch? My son will play coach pitch this year and kid pitch next year. I don't want to buy a bat that can only be used for one year. He is 4'6" and 68 lbs. Would this be a good choice for him? sarah b
That is correct. Based upon your player's height and weight, I would recommend using a 29" Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B. This would be an excellent choice for him.
John P.
How is this bat in comparison to the 2016 Easton S2 Senior League Bat: SL16S210? KIRK
Compared to the S2, the Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B will be more stiff since it is a one-piece bat (S2 is a two-piece bat). One-piece bats are more efficient at power transfer while two-piece bats can help with swing speed.
Marcus

Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 31" 21 oz version of the Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B.
Jason
Why is it that when I do a search for Youth Big Barrel bats, the only bats that come up are Senior League bats like this SL15S310B model? Why are they noted as Senior League instead of Youth Big Barrel bats? Lee
This Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) has Senior League Certification which is the same certification as Youth Big Barrel. There is no difference between Senior League Bats and Youth Big Barrel bats.
Ben
I'm wondering if this bat would work for Little League? What size would you recommend for a 5', 70 lb 9 year old? Jac
The Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B would not work for Little League, as it is a 2 3/4 barrel. Based on the height and weight of the player, I would recommend that he use a 30" length.
Nick
My son is 8 years old, 70 pounds about 4'9". What size bat do you recommend? fitzhits
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B in a 30 inch 20 ounce model.
Cameron
Is this considered a composite bat? Does it need to be rolled or broken-in? CB
This Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) is a single-piece, all-alloy bat. It will not be built of composite and will not require a break-in period before use.
Ben
Would you consider this bat for a 150 pound 9 yr old? He is 4'11" and is a power hitter. He has already cracked a Louisville bat and I need something that can hold up for this much power. ball mom
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would recommend using a 31" Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B. This particular model is a one-piece fully alloy design which is usually preferred by a power hitter.
John P.
How does this bat compare to the Marucci Hex Alloy in terms of swing weight, pop and the sweet spot? Will
The Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B and the 2016 Marucci Hex Alloy Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBAHAX10 are both very good bats. The swing weight, pop and sweet spot will be very similar for these two bats as both are one-piece alloy designs with balanced swing weights. Looking at the reviews, both bats are highly rated so in our opinion either one would work well.
Cameron
Is it a good bat? jamezs
The Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B is an excellent, high-quality baseball bat.

My son is 10 years old, 4'6" and 62 lbs. I'm thinking a 29"/19 oz for him. I am not sure if he would benefit more with a 2 5/8" barrel or 2 3/4" barrel. What is your opinion of the two? robert
Based upon your player's height and weight, we would make a general recommendation of going with a 29" model of a Youth Big Barrel/Senior league Bat. I think that your length and weight suggestion for him was great at 29"/19 oz. If you guys are allowed to use the 2 3/4" model and want to get the most strike zone coverage possible, I would recommend getting this Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B). A 2 5/8" bat offers quite a bit of coverage and is even still considered a big barrel, but it just doesn't offer quite as much coverage as a 2 3/4" model.
Ben
My kid is around 50" tall and weighs 90 pounds. What size bat would you go with on the Easton S3? Dylan
Based upon your player's height and weight, we would make a general recommendation of going with a 29" option of a Youth Big Barrel baseball bat. As long as you feel your player can handle the 19 oz weight of the 29" option of this Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B), I would recommend that size option of this bat.
Ben
My son is 12 years old, 5'6" and weighs about 140 lbs. Right now he is using a 30" bat that is too small for him. Should I get him a 31" or 32" bat? Footy
For your son's height and weight we recommend a 32" length bat.
Angelique
I am a 13 years old, 4'11" and weigh 85 lbs. How long of a bat would I need to get? al
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 30" Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B.
John P.
My brother is 4'9" and 76 lbs. What size bat do you recommend for him? What about the Voodoo Overlord? Sawyer
Based on his height and weight I would recommend a 30" Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B). The Voodoo Overlord is going to be end loaded and is designed more for power hitters. If he is a bigger, stronger kid the Overlord might be a good option, otherwise I would recommend staying with the S3.
Jake
What size is the barrel on the 31" model? t-bonz
The Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B features a 2 3/4 inch barrel diameter.

I have a 13 yr old that is 5'4" and weighs 170 lbs. What size bat do you recommend? bobo
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would recommend getting this Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) in a 32" length. As long as he can handle the 22 oz weight of the 32" option of this bat, that size option would be my recommendation for you. (At 13 years old, I might consider thinking about getting a heavier bat at a -8 or -5 length-to-weight ratio in order to prepare for the -3 BBCOR bats in high school. But if you want a light swinging bat with a 2 3/4" barrel diameter, I think that this will be a solid option)
Ben
I purchased a SL13RX9 bat for my 11 year old who plays AA fast pitch baseball (hard ball). I am a bit confused as there is no mention as to how hard the ball can be thrown. Can it handle harder thrown balls? Mo
The Easton Reflex Senior League Baseball Bat (SL13RX9) will be specifically designed for use in baseball just like this Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B). Both of these bats will be able to withstand the velocities thrown by players at 8-13 years old (that is a general range). There can always be unfortunate situations where a bat becomes defective, but both models will be covered by a full 12 month manufacturer's warranty period if something were to happen.
Ben
My son is 7, and plays rec ball. They can't use big barrel bats, is this a big barrel? J
Yes, the Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B features a 2 3/4" big barrel design. All Senior League models feature big barrels. You will want to look at the Youth models, as those have the 2 1/4" non big barrels.
Jason
My son is 8 yrs old, 5 ft tall and weighs 93 lbs. He just started kid pitch this year. I have had some issues with Rawlings Prodigy models denting. Will this bat handle kid pitch and what size do you recommend? Rick
This Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) is designed to handle velocities that will be thrown in kid-pitch baseball. However, we have received some complaints from customers in regard to durability on this model that has a 2 3/4" barrel diameter. I have come to notice that sometimes, a bat with a 2 5/8" diameter has a little better chance to display higher durability. I might recommend looking at the 2016 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL16S310) which is very similar to this bat, but has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter. In regard to your height and weight, my general suggestion would be to look at a 30" model as long as he can handle the 20 oz weight.
Ben
Is it legal in Babe Ruth? Age 13-15? jonny baseball
The Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B would not allowed for use in the 13-15 age division of Babe Ruth due to the barrel diameter. The Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B features a 2 3/4 inch barrel diameter and the max diameter allowed for this division of Babe Ruth is 2 5/8".
Cameron
How heavy is it? hunter
The Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) has a drop of -10, so a bat with a length of 29" will have a weight of 19 oz. A bat with a length of 30" will weigh 20 oz. The bat is going to be balanced and will have a light swing weight to it.
Jake
Is this bat composite? ellis
The Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) is a one piece aluminum bat.
Carter
I am interested in the S3 model for my son. Which is your newest model and how does it compare to the older models of the S3? Johnny Church
The 2017 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL17S310B) is the newest version of the S3. Over the years the S3 really has not changed very much. The main changes are cosmetic.

My grandson is 11 years old and wants a big barrel Easton bat. Which models do you recommend? John Spiggos
This Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) is built with a 2 3/4" barrel diameter, USSSA 1.15 certification and a -10 length-to-weight ratio. This S3 in this size is going to be very popular with 11 year old players. If you wanted to view another very popular Easton bat in the same size, I would recommend the 2016 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL16MK10B).
Ben

Since the Easton S3 (SL15S310B) is a 2015 model, would Easton replace it with the current S3 if a warranty issue arose? Richard
Depending upon the stock of S3s that Easton has at their warranty headquarters, they would probably upgrade this Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310B) to a newer year model of an S3 if a warranty issue arose.
Ben
My grandson is starting in Pony League this year and they told him he needs a bat with 1.25 BPF and something about -5 to -12. This is all new to me. Rob
All Pony League bats will feature a BPF of 1.15. You would want to look into a Youth Big Barrel/Senior League Baseball Bat like the Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B but with a 2 5/8" barrel diameter. The Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B would not be legal for use since it has a 2 3/4" barrel diameter. As for the drop to get him (-5 and -12 are drop indicators; for example a 32 inch 27 ounce model would be classified as a -5) this would depend on his height and weight as well as the current weight of his bat (how well he has handled the weight).
Cameron
My 12 year old son is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 125lbs. What size bat would be recommended for him? Rychaos
Based on your sons height and weight, we advise going with the 31" 21 oz Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15S310B.
Sean

Cameron
