Description

The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, S3, and S4). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3, S4). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The S4 is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Great Bat Beckham player

Pros: Everything about this bat is great. I love it. I went 1-2 with a double in my game on Saturday and has amazing pop. I won my team's HRD with this bat. I'm a small guy so the light weight is great for me.

Cons: None

Fantastic Bat Will player

Pros: I hit leadoff so I'm not that much of a power hitter but with this bat, so far I'm 10/19 with a 0.526 batting average and like 4-5 pretty deep outfield hits.

My son will be using it in the middle school. Is 2 1/2 inch barrel allowed? bill
Yes. If he needs to BBCOR certification the 2 1/2" barrel is allowed.
Damon
Will the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR bat be on sale? cihs
Once we receive the 2014 Easton S3's in our warehouse we will list them for a Prebook option. We will have the full Power Brigade line up available on September 1st.
John
Would you recommend the Easton S3 or S4 for me? I am 5' 3" and 100 lbs. Corbin
The 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR: BB14S4 Adult and 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3 Adult are constructed from the same high quality materials and will perform at the same level. The S3 has the standard BBCOR 2 5/8" barrel for a larger hitting surface. The S4 has a smaller, 2.50" barrel, which takes some weight out of it to make it more balanced. The lighter swing weight of the S4 makes it a great choice for smaller players or players transitioning to a heavier BBCOR model.
Katie
I am 5'4," 85 lbs. and an all contact hitter. I'm going into high school next year and need a -3 BBCOR bat. Would you recommend the 2014 Easton S4 or the S3? cody_16
Typically for a player this size we would recommend a 29" bat. With that being said, your best bet would be the 2014 Easton S4. Although the S4 possesses a slightly smaller barrel diameter, it is manufactured in a length of 29."
Gary T.
I am 5'4" and 90 lbs and am going into high school. I currently swing a 31 in 26 oz bat and I need a BBCOR bat for high school. Would you recommend the 2014 Easton S4 or the S3? Baseballer16
You can't really go wrong with either bat, both are very high quality, one-piece alloy bats that use Easton's THT100 Scandium Alloy. The only difference between the two is that the S3 has a 2 5/8" barrel and the S4 has a slightly smaller, 2 1/2" barrel. Both bats are going to give you a balanced feel for ideal bat speed, however the smaller barrel size of the S4 should allow for slightly faster bat speeds.

will this bat help me with my power and will it help me hit more home runs baberuth801
The Easton S4 (BB14S4) has a 2 1/2" barrel diameter. The smaller barrel would help with a quicker swing and tends to favor more towards a contact hitter then a power hitter. I would recommend the Easton XL3 (BB14X3) if your looking for power.
Zach
How is the Easton S4 lighter? This bat is still a drop three and will still be exactly the same weight. Please explain this because I would really like for this bat to swing lighter then my other BBCOR bat. Max
The reason why the Easton S4 BBCOR (BB14S4) would swing lighter is because it has a skinnier barrel diameter in a 2 1/4". That helps with quicker bat speed compared to a normal BBCRO 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
Zach
difference between S1 S2 S3 and S4? jackyd
The Easton S1 (BB14S1) is a two-piece full composite. Easton S2 (BB14S2) is a two-piece hybrid. The Easton S3 (BB14S3) is a one-piece alloy in a 2 5/8 inch barrel. And the Easton S4 (BB14S4) is a one-piece alloy in a 2 1/4 inch barrel.
Zach
I have used the Easton XL and I couldn't hit it. So i used the Easton S3 and hit with it. i want power so what bat should I use? ryan to beast
I would recommend the 2014 Easton S4 (BB14S4). It has the lightest swing weight of any of the Easton models. This will allow you to create more bat speed and generate more power.
Bobby
i am 6'3" tall and weight 180 pounds and I can't hit with the Easton XL. Is this a good bat? poo
Yes, the 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR: BB14S4 would probably be a good bat for you. Unlike the Easton XL, the S4 has a very balanced swing weight that will alloy for maximum bat speed.
Kyle J.
What's the difference between composite, hybrid, and alloy. And are they allowed in high school? cole
For the difference and benefits of each combination of materials, check out the videos in this link: http://www.justbats.com/buying-guides/baseball-bats/. And as long as a bat is BBCOR certified, like this 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR (BB14S4), it will be approved for high school baseball.
Mac
Does this bat come in a 2 5/8 barrel size? Dan
The 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR (BB14S4) does not come in a 2 5/8" barrel. The Easton S3 (BB14S3) would be the 2 5/8" version of the Easton S4.
Kelby
Does this bat have a large sweet spot? JJ
The 2014 Easton S4 (BB14S4) has a 2 1/2" barrel and will have a smaller than average sweet spot. The 2 1/2" barrel will help generate a quicker swing speed.
John H
My son is 70 lbs and 54" tall, what size do you recommend? jb
Based on results from our Bat Coach (http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/), we recommend a 30" 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S4) for a player with your height and weight.
Sean
How does this bat compare to the discontinued S1? Compare as in sweet spot, balance, and pop. matty ice
There are some key differences in the construction of the 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S4) that make it slightly different from the Easton S1. The S4 features a one-piece fully alloy design, so it will be good to go right out of the wrapper. It also features a 2 1/2" barrel diameter. Because of the smaller barrel (the S1 has a 2 5/8" diameter), it makes for one of the most balanced options available on the market today. The Easton S1 is the top of the line model from the Speed Series. It features a two-piece fully composite design, so unlike the S4, it will require a break in before it will perform at its peak. The larger barrel diameter means that it will not feel as balanced as the S4, but it still has a balanced feel (when comparing it to other balanced models that have a 2 5/8" barrel). With regard to pop, they both have to meet the same performance standard, so the pop will be about the same.
Tessa
What size bat should I get with the S4? I'm 5'11" and 122 lbs. jeremiah
Based on your approximate height and weight, I would probably suggest 31" in the 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BB14S4).
Merritt
What size should I get? I'm 5'8 170-180 lbs. ken
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S4). For more information on sizing, check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tessa
My son will be trying out for the middle school team this spring in NY. Is this bat the correct size and weight (-3 drop)? Does it matter what size barrel he gets? mairob
If you are looking for a model that will be BBCOR certified, all of these models will be standardized with a -3 length to weight ratio, and a barrel of 2 5/8". As for finding the correct length, it will ultimately depend on the player's height and weight.
Merritt
I am a sophomore in high school and I am 6'2" 155 lbs. I am a definite power hitter. What size would you recommend? Would this be a good bat for me? Grant
Based on your approximate height and weight I would suggest a 33" in the 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BB14S4). This model is a perfect option for power players. The one-piece provides a stiffer feel, and the alloy will give players the immediate performance they are looking for. Overall, this model will fit your playing style perfectly.
Merritt
What is the right size and weight for my son who is a freshman in high school? He is a contact hitter, but needs more pop with a BBCOR bat. RMC
Based on his approximate age, I would suggest a 33/30 in the 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BB14S4). However, in this particular model, we are currently out of stock of this size.
Merritt
I am a 9th grader and I'm wondering would this bat be better for me with the 2 1/4 barrel diameter or should I go with a bigger barrel? Jerry
In most cases, by the time you reach ninth grade, most players will have graduated to a BBCOR style bat like the 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S4) which has a 2 1/2 inch barrel diameter or most other models of BBCOR bats that feature a 2 5/8 inch barrel.
Patrick
What bats can my son use for Babe Ruth baseball? He is 14, and I am looking for the right bat for him that he is able to use. Ray
At his age, BBCOR models may or may not be required depending on the specific division he plays in. He may be able to use a Youth Big Barrel/Senior League model for another year. If that is the case, he would be restricted to a 2 5/8" barrel diameter and cannot use a bat with a composite barrel (unless BBCOR certified). You can find those models in the following link: http://goo.gl/9FNFGG. Ultimately, if you believe he's ready for the -3 or is required to use that length to weight ratio, all BBCOR certified bats would be approved for play in Babe Ruth baseball.
Mac
I am a 9th grader who is 6 feet tall and weighs 124 pounds. I am not very strong and i need a bat to help me get through the zone but also make contact. I'm not a very good hitter and I need a bat that will help me make contact. Should I get a two-piece bat or a one-piece bat? If a one-piece bat, would aluminum or composite be better for me to make contact with the ball. Jeremiah
Either composite or alloy would work well. What you will want to look for is a balanced design. The more balanced the bat is, the lighter the swing weight will be. The 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S4) is a balanced design that has a light swing weight.
Patrick
I have a dip in my swing from playing golf so much and not playing baseball. I am getting into baseball again and I am playing this year for my high school baseball team. Would this bat help me get to the zone quicker? Also, would this bat help with my dip in my swing? baseball man
The balanced design of the 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S4) will help with your swing speed and getting to the zone quicker. The dip in your swing will not necessarily be corrected by a bat but the light swing weight of the S4 can help you hone your form more easily.
Patrick
Do you sell 33" S4's? Dan
Yes, we have the Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB13S4) in a 33" available. You can find it here: http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s4-bbcor-baseball-bat--bb13s4/15975?pa_source=justbats&pa_campaign=eastonpa_medium=badges&pa_content=easton-s4-bbcor-baseball-bat--bb13s4

Will this bat get me to hit the ball? Random
The 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S4) has a very balanced swing weight and is designed to help players increase their bat speed. A quick bat speed is one of the most important things for being able to hit the ball.
Jason
Is it USSSA certified? kaden167
The 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S4) is BBCOR certified. This bat is intended to be used for high school and collegiate play so it is not USSSA certified. This bat would not be allowed for use in a USSSA sanctioned game.
Ben
What is the difference between the Easton S4 & the Easton S3Z? Aguilard
The difference between the 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S4) and the 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) is that the S4 has a 2 1/2 inch barrel diameter. The S3Z has a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter. Also the S3Z is made with Hyperlite Matrix Alloy gives the bat more durability and creates a larger sweet spot.
Frankie
What do you think this or the Omaha I'm a small sixth grade one hitter that needs to use a bbcore bat for school team? mike
The 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S4) and the Louisville Slugger Omaha are both one piece alloy, balanced designs. Either of these bats will be great for you.
Frankie
Well mike their both great one piece alomanom bats so both would be great but I would recommend the s4 because it may be easier to convert to from your youth bat
