Description

Easton truly believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power. However, the road to power hitting is different for every player. Some players need extra bat speed to reach their full power potential, while others need more weight and a bigger barrel. That's why Easton is changing the game this season and taking an approach to bats that no other manufacturer has ever tried before. Introducing the POWER Brigade; Two series, one distinct result. Whether you prefer the fast swinging Speed Series or the heavier extended barrel XL Series, POWER will be your outcome. Forget flashy designs and gimmicky names, these bats produce RESULTS. The Speed Series (S1, S2, S3) features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and generate more power. On the other side of the spectrum, the XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) features extra long barrels designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing. Easton really does strive to fulfill the preferences of any type of player as both series come in two-piece IMX Composite designs (S1 and XL1), two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Aluminum hybrid designs (S2 and XL2), and one-piece THT100 Aluminum designs (S3 and XL3). As for the materials, Easton's patented IMX Composite has proven to be one of the highest performing materials in the game year after year, while THT100 Aluminum provides superior dent and crack resistance. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology and you have a new line of bats that is second to none. Easton: We Believe In Power! This bat is approved for play in all major youth associations. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: I purchased a 31" XL1 for my son and the barrel of this bat is as big as the barrel on my daughters 31" softball bat. My son is hitting the cover off the ball with the XL1 and has newly found power to the opposite field. I was never a big believer in bat technology making a huge difference, but there is no doubt in my mind that this bat is making a difference.

Pros: Purchased a 31" for my son. It has incredible pop out of the wrapper. The ball pierces through the air when hit on the sweet spot. Also, the low gloss silver looks great. By far better than all previous combats and mikens I've purchased. This bat exceeded my expectations,a rare occurrence.

Cons: Not really a negative, but the 31" XL1 might be a little heavy for smaller players. My son is 5'1" at 10 years old and swings it great.

Pros: The 1st time I swung this bat I was hooked, line and sinker.... My son LOVES IT! BEST BAT EVER!

Cons: The speed series has a better balence because the extra 2 oz's are placed at the end but the extra power more then makes up for that! So really NO CONS!

Pros: I played pro minor league baseball for a few years and have coached little league for over 15 years now. I purchased this bat for my 12 year old son. The bat is weighted very nicely and has a tacky grip. My son likes the feel of the bat.

Cons: The end cap loosened on the first day we used the bat. My son uses a wooden bat during our fall season. He hits the ball further with the wood bat than this bat. There is very little noticeable difference in the amount of pop and distance this bat is supposed to provide. We chose this bat over the CF5 based on the reviews of this bat. We tried a CF5 the other day and it blows this bat out of the water. The CF5 has tons of pop compared to the Easton XL1. Maybe we received a bad bat. At this point I would recommend the CF5.

Pros: Against my better judgement of paying so much for a baseball bat I purchased the Easton XL1, I must say it was not a mistake !! at my sons first practice he hit 2 over the fence and 2 hit the fence in the air , at his second team practice he hit 4 over the fence ! this bat makes the ball really travel without alot of effort , as his Dad I'm very impressed with his performance with this new bat . I don't regret pay the price it's worth every penny just seeing the look on my sons face when that ball goes over the fence !

Cons: None in my opinion

Pros: Great bat! Great sweet spot... My son hit his first Bomb to right field using the XL1....30-20oz.. maybe a little heavier for his size. The pitching he is facing in the LL Major division as a 10U player, he is sure holding his own. Many travel players on his team are using the bat and all of them love it. Thank's Easton

Pros: I had just bought this bat, and went into my backyard and started hittin baseballs with the plastic wrapper on the bat, with the unbeliveable pop this bat has, the plastic wrapper was torn up within minutes, im a small kid and i shouldn't be swinging a bat this end-heavy for my size[4ft nine and 75 lbs] but the pop out of this bat completely makes up for it, if you or your son is a larger child with more power, they will be pounding the ball, trust me.

Cons: Such a long barrel its going to be hard to lay off way outside pitches, longer than combats, i measured!

Pros: Recently purchased a 31" XL1 for my 12 year old son. When I presented it to him, he was going into the cage prior to his second game of the season. He came out saying "This bat is popping dad!". During the game that followed he batted 4 for 4, a double short of the cycle, going yard on his 4th attempt. The triple was smacked solidly into the left field corner. The bat rocks & has a tremendous sweet spot!

Pros: Awsome bat. Purchased for my 9yr old. Hes a big kid for 9yrs old. Most bats are to light for his fast swing. Thought id give the xL 1 a try. I got the 21 oz 31 inch. great pop to start with .But has really come around as the games go on. last week he hit 3 triples,in which 2 hit the 210ft fence, Next game he cleared the fence. What a shot. If your youngster is strong enough to swing this bat. Sit back and watch him trot the bases. This bat will give him the ride of his life.

Cons: Heavy ended. Better be quik to the ball,or the long ball will turn into a strike out.

Pros: I bought the 30in, 20oz bat for my 10 year old son a few weeks ago. I was a bit worried about the weight, but this past weekend he hit one out of the park for the first time!! He's an advanced hitter so this bat works well for him. If your child has some upper body strength, then he should be fine swinging this bat. Huge sweet spot due to the extra long barrel. Didn't really break it in much before he hit his homer. I can imagine the distance he's going to get once it's broken in!

Cons: A bit heavy for smaller kids. I suggest before buying, have your child hold & swing it a few times at the store. He may have a hard time getting the bat around quickly if he's not used to it. Other than that, no cons!

Pros: I wrote a review a little while ago regarding my son's out of the park homerun using this bat. I forgot to mention that since using this bat, his line drives are unbelievable. The coaches on the opposite teams are calling him "dangerous" at the plate. They have to shuffle the kids around in the infield so they don't get hit by one of his FAST line drives to the outfield. This bat is insane! All the kids in Little League talk about this bat & want to use it

Pros: Tons of pop. It has the same pop, maybe even better then the Combat B1. Just outstanding. It can turn an average hitter into a home run hitter/line drive hitter.

Cons: It now has a huge crack when we only used it for 3 months. It was just starting to get tons of pop!

Pros: Great bat!!! End loaded but not as much as the silver cf4. My son was never really able to swing the cf4 consistently. With this XL1 he barrels up the ball consistently. Have not seen a better Little League bat!!! We will see how much hotter this bat gets as it breaks in. It has the barrel of a softball bat, the sweet spot is huge!!!

Pros: 29" 19oz -10 bat. Tested by my 7 year (+3 months) old son @ 51 inches 66 lbs. Great bat for the money @ discounted price. Nice performance right out of the box w/limited break-in time needed. Better distance than the DeMarini CF-5. Limited sting on bad hits.

Cons: Compared XL1 with Easton S-1, DeMarini CF-4, CF-5, Voodoo SC4 Alloy. Will only benefit the stronger hitters. Recommend the Easton S-1 for younger players / first time players. Must generate good bat speed to get maximum distance from the bat. DeMarini Cf-4 still the best overall bat of the group tested.

Pros: Great bat for my 10 yo son. Hot out of the wrapper. He just used it in his first game and almost parked his first out of the park homer on a ball that he did not hit flush. He loves the way the bat feels and it has a massive sweet spot. Better pop than the Omen! Great price at 119.00. Arrived in 4 days!

Cons: None yet. Love it so far!!

Pros: The ball seems shot out of cannon when its squared up. Vibration is dampened even if hit at the end of the barrel.

Have a question about the Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat: YB11X1? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

my son is 8 and is using a 29/17 what bat would you recommend and why. Please consider the pb-s1-12 danny
This is a great link that we have that helps decide what bat someone should use and the length and weight they should use; http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Brett
What's the difference between this new model and the Easton omen? Ty Tres
The YB11X1 is going to be an updated version of the Omen. The YB11X1 is going to have a little more pop and a little more durability. The technology that has came out in the last year is put into the Omen.
Todd
Hi my son is nearly 13 years old, 5'2" about 110 lbs. He is one of the sluggers on the team. He has been using the 31"- omen -12. Which bat would be better suited for him? S1 or s2. Thanks. Paba
When talking about the 2 youth Brigade bats, it will come down to the length and weight you are looking for. The YB11X1 is going to be a -10 bat and the YB11S1 is going to be a -12 bat.
Todd
What bat is better the s1 or xl1 and what is the differnce besides the weight? tommyboy
The XL1 is designed with an extra long barrel for a massive sweet spot and an expanded hitting zone. The S1 is a speed design. This allows for faster swing speeds which adds a little more power.
Kris
whats better THE DEMARINI CF5 OR THE EASTON XL1? TASTY
It is a matter of personal preference. These are both great bats, and will preform very highly for you. Some people prefer DeMarini and some people prefer Easton, but no matter what choice you make, you will be happy with it!
Dave
The XL1 has a HUGE sweet spot! 2 piece composite design, nice balance, and the vibration reduction technology. The CF5 is also a 2 piece composite design, it is slightly more end weighted, which some batters love. So comes down to preference.
BBall girl
Will there be a youth big barrel version of this model? Why do you guys say that this bat has more pop than the Omen, exactly what's in it? DJ3K,MO 602
The Omen and the XL1 use the same composite material except the XL features an extra long barrel designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing.
Shelbe
I'm 5 feet 1 inch and 90 pounds im 12 should I get the 31/21 or the 30/20 currently I have the exogrid 31/20 its not a great bat should I get this bat???? WAZUP
This is going to be one of the hotter bats on the market at this time. This bat is going to be using some of the newest technology on the market. This is going to be a great link that will help you decide what is going to be the perfect length and weight to get; http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Todd
I'm going to play in 12u usssa aaa next summer. I'm a contact hitter with a little bit of power. Will this bat be good for me? Turbo
Yes, the XL1 has a lot of pop and will be a good bat for contact hitters.
Sean
I would look at the Easton Speed Series. It is a balanced design. You will get more power out of it than the XL Series because you are a contact hitter.
Luke
Do you reccomend a Bat Sleeve for BP when using this bat? Turbo
Yes, if you are using a bat sleeve during batting practice it will help maintain the bats pop.
Shawn
Will this bat be legal for 2012? ocho
Yes, this bat is legal for Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC, and USSSA.
lkh
what is better? a -10 32/22 power brigade, a 32/22 b4, or a 32/19 voodoo homerunkid23
All three of those bats are very good options. The XL1 and B4 will be composite bats. Composite bats will require a break in period while the Voodoo will be game ready. You can't go wrong with either bat.
Justin
My son has the power to hit homers but needs a quicker bat should he buy the Easton XL1 or the Easton S1 Mattyk
I would go with the S1 for better bat speed. The extended barrel on the XL1 would actually drag the bat speed.
Gamer
Is this a good bat to hit homeruns with? I want a bat that can provide strength ryan
The XL1 is a slightly endloaded bat and is great for power hitters. It is all composite so it has great pop.
K.B.
Is the XL1 a full 100% composite? happyface
Yes. The XL1 is a two piece fully composite bat.
Kara
Generating bat speed is not a problem for my two boys, (11 & 12). Both are power hitters. Should they use the S1 or XL1. Rick
If bat speed isn't an issue, the the XL1 model might best suit them.
lkh
is it composite Guest
Yes. It is a two piece composite bat.
Kara
During christmas will this bat be cheaper than now? tasty
This is a brand new model from Easton. More than likely the price will be where it is now for several months.
Brett
what bat is better the youth -10 omen or the youth -10 power brigade? Kyle
Both bats are great options, the power brigade replaced the omen and they updated the construction of the bat. You really can't go wrong with either options
Sean
I'm a twelve year old 5 foot 3 100 pund all star pony player and I want a bat that the ball will shoot off and go far I am definetly a huge power clean up hitter now i am using a 31 21 and i like that weight and size? guy
The XL1 would be a great bat for you. Super sized sweet spot, Connexion technology for vibration reduction. Stiff flex is great for power hitters.
LKH
I am 11 years old and I am about 5 foot 3 inches and very strong. I can't decide between the XL1 or the S1. Slugger
The XL1 is end loaded and it best for power hitters compared to the S1.
Kara
Is this bat approved for little league play in 2012? Mike
As of today, the bat is legal for little league play in 2012.
Kara
what is better im 11 and a contact hitter with some pop. i was also wondering is the barrel of the bat composite b macc
The XL1 should be a good option if you are wanting to generate more pop off of the bat. Yes, this bat does have a composite barrel.
Sean
im 11 and a contact hitter with some pop and was wondering what one is best for me. i was also wondering is this bat all composite b macc
It really depends on what you prefer, the XL1 has a lot of pop and is a full composite design
Sean
i cant decide, wich is better the demarini cf4, or the easton xl1 ryan
They are both going to be great bats. The Demarini CF4 is going to be more of a balanced feel to it while the Easton Xl1 will have a slightly larger sweet spot with a slight end-loaded feel to it.
John
I am almost 12 years old, 5 foot 3, and weigh 145 lbs. I am extremely strong for my age. My swing speed is fine. Would you reccomend this bat for me? Quince
Yes, this is going to be a very good bat for you
Sean
Which bat do you think is better? Easton Power Brigade XL1 or Marucci Black youth? GrandSlammer
Both bats will be good options. They each have very good pop and nice sweet spots.
KG
I was just wondering when you were going to get the Marucci Black youth. Fanatic
we should get those models in about a week
Sean
Can you give me some details about the Marucci Black? HomeRunPow
First, if you are looking for a youth 2 1/4" barrel version, we do not have one as of right now. The youth big barrel version is a 2 piece hybrid, composite handle, alloy barrel bat. It has an anti vibration handle knob, and an extended barrel for a huge sweet spot. It also has the low MOI for faster bat speed. Great bat!
Linda
Which bat has a bigger sweet spot and more pop: Easton Power Brigade XL1 youth or Marucci Black youth? LineDriver
Pop wise, they are gonna be pretty close, but the Easton has the extended barrel for a huge sweet spot.
Linda
Trying to find a bat comparable to the Easton Stealth Speed xl LSS4XL. Is this bat comparable as far as the pop it has. Have never seen a bat better than the LSS4XL Jimmy
If you are looking for something most like the LSS4XL, then you want to look at the Easton S1 the YB11S1 it is the same design, 2 piece fully composite, low MOI for faster bat speed, the other one similar to it is the Omen LNC1XL, same thing 2 piece full composite, low MOI.
Linda
Which is better, the Combat B4 or the Easton XL1? Albert Pujols Fan
The XL1 is going to be one of the hottest bats on the market. It is a great bat for power hitters. This is going to be a bat that is going to have great durability.
Todd
What are some features of the Combat B4? Albert Pujols Fan
The B4 is a one piece all composite bat with a HUGE sweet spot, nice balance and unbelieveable pop! COMBAT has rocked the composite bat world for sure!
Linda
What makes this bat better or worse than the Combat B4? Albert Pujols
Both are great bats. The B4 is a one-piece bat that will be stiffer than the XL1 which is a two-piece bat. The XL1 will have a more end-loaded feel and would probably be better suited for a stronger hitter. Albert Pujols is a Marucci guy and may be interested in the Marucci Black or Cat 5.
TJ
My youngest son has the red stealth xl his older brother used it today and hit home run it's a 29/19 can't find it in 32/22or31/21 how does this bat compare to the red stealth xl.thanks for the input. Kowboi
The Youth XL1 only is available in a 31/19 or a 32/20. The Senior League models are available in the 32/22 and 31/21. This model replaced the Omen, which replaced the Stealth, so they will be similar in performance.
Kara
What is the best full composite bat on the market? Only -10 Albert Pujols Fan
Good question. The S1 and XL1 will be a good choice along with the CF5 and any of the COMBATs.
KG
I thought the new composite bats that are approved for play were not able to be broken down any more than they are straight out of the wrapper and thats why they got the ok. So why does everyone keep saying you will have to break it in? Should'nt it be game ready brand new? zach4418
Well basically once broken in, they cannot exceed the rate of speed the ball is allowed to come off the bat.
Linda
what's better for power the combat b4 -10 or the easton xl1 power brigade -10. homerun300000
Boy you made 2 excellent choices. Honestly, I'd lean with the Easton on this one.
Linda
i'm 11 years old 5'3 147 pounds which bat would be better s1 xl1 i have no trouble with bat speed homerun3000000
I'd go with the XL if you have no problems with bat speed.
Linda
i am trying to decide between this bat and the s1. i will get a 32' bat and have a fast swing and im a power hitter. i have a 31' 20 oz and want a better bat. what should i get fgh
A 32 inch is what I would suggest maybe in a -10. The XL1 is for more power hitters and the S1 is for contact hitters.
Shelbe
what is a better bat: xl1, s1, or the cf5. please give me only one bat for an answer kemer
Of those 3, I'd say the S1.
Linda
Overall, the S1 would probably be the best bat of choice for you. This bat will transition the speed of your swing into more power, creating more distance on your hits.
Derek
Whats a better bat: s1 or xl1? yfd
It really depends on if you want an end loaded or balanced bat. The XL1 is going to be end loaded, the S1 is balanced.
Kara
xl1 vs s1. What is a better bat? gtyj
They are both good, it will depend on if you want an end loaded bat or a balacned bat. The XL1 is end loaded and the S1 is balanced.
Kara
what is the best baseball bat on the market kookookem
Hard to answer that, as each player has batting strengths and weaknesses. And each bat caters to those different needs. But this bat is a really nice new line of Easton's, getting good feedback on it.
Linda
which bat is stiffer, s1, xl1, cf5, or b4 kem
The B4 is going to be the stiffest because it is a one piece bat.
K.B.
What is the new technology that was put into the Omen to create the XL1? Rallycapper
They extended the barrel and increased the MOI to get more power generated from the bat
Sean
My son has quick hands to the ball so no issue with bad speed in that regard. That said, he doesn't always have the strength through the ball to drive it very hard during soft toss (BP pop is much better). Which do you recommend, the XL1, S1, or the new DeMarini (CF5?). Can you please recommend one..... I won't hold it against you if it doesnt work out. Rico
If he has quick hands with above average bat speed, he may benefit from a bat in Easton's XL line. The XL line of bats works well for players who have naturally high swing speeds. Here is a video from Easton about the Brigade Series, which may be beneficial. Copy and paste this link in your browser's URL. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCRV99BrKa0
TJ
How does this bat compare to the B4. Sting-wise? any draw backs on either? We liked the Omen -10. We have also liked the earlier Combats. JRC
This is a 2 pc all composite, and it has the connection to defuse the sting a bit.
Linda
Is this bat for sure approved for 2012 little league play? Harris Elk Hunter
Yes. It is approved for Little League play in 2012.
Kara
My son is 12, will be 13 in July. He is 5'2-1/2" 80#, and not yet had the growth spurt typical of this age. He currently uses a Combat B3 31/19 and an old Easton Quantum 31/19. Should he get an XL1 32/22 or an S1 32/20? Thank you. jd123
You might want to go with the XL1, it will help him tansition to a larger size that he will need when he plays in high school
John
Is this bat end loaded like the omen or more balanced like the combat B1 composite? B
This bat does have a more of an end loaded feel due to the large barrel. The S1 will have a balanced feel.
KG
Does this bat and The Omen LNC2XL have the same barrel length? BIGNIP
Yes, the barrel length is the same.
Linda
Are these bats going to be usable with the new USSSA bat regulations? Al
Yes, this bat does have the USSSA stamp and is approved.
KG
My son is 13and 5'2" and weighs about 115 lbs what bat do you recommend. He has a lot of pop for his size because generates bat speed Tim
This is a very good bat and will have tons of pop. This bat has a composite barrel which will give the player better pop over time and will require a break in period of 100-200 hits off a tee or soft toss.
KG
Is this bat better or is the 2012 anderson nanotek -10 better? harold k
They are very different bats, so it is hard to compare that way. The XL1 is a 2 piece all composite bat, it has the extended barrel making a huge sweet spot. The Nanotek is a one piece single wall all alloy bat. So they will have a different feel when hit also.
Linda
So are you saying that if my kid has a very fast swing, then he should look for the XL1 instead of the S1? Meaning that the S1 is more for players that dont currently have bat speed. Thatdad
If he has a fast bat speed, the XL would be great for him.
Linda
what happens if used in cold weather ryan
Used in cold weather this bat will be more prone to crack and break easier. Do not use this bat in temps less than 55-60 degrees.
KG
Does the XL1 have as much pop as the easton stealth XL? Smily
Yes. It is going to have the same amount of pop as the Stealth.
K.B.
If you can swing the bat properly does a longer length bat help with adding more distance or power? marka
A longer length will help the player cover more of the plate, it will not give them more pop
Sean
What would you pick for a power hitter combat b3 retro gear or easton xl1? chicken54
The Easton XL1 will be slightly end loaded. If the player has fairly quick bat speed I would recommend the XL1.
Kara
what is the barrel length on the S1 and the XL1 are they they same or does one have a bigger barrel Jaybo
The XL1 will have a longer barrel than the S1.
KG
Is this bat the replacement For the Omen XL with equal or better performance? Coach Bill
This is the replacement for the Omen. The XL series does have a little end loaded feel and the S series will have a balanced feel.
KG
Could you please clarify something for me? I am comparing this bat and the Easton Omen from last year. I have heard conflicting news that the Omen does have a 1.15 stamp, but will only be legal this year and NOT in 2013. The XL1 bat also has this stamp. Will it only be legal until 2013 as well? BitThunder
This bat will be legal in 2013, it does have the new USSSA stamp.
Robb
What youth baseball bat is the replacement for the Easton XL Speed Stealth? Darin
This bat is very similar to the Stealth. The XL1 is all composite bat and will be made with the same materials as the Stealth. The XL1 has incredible pop and feel and is a great youth bat.
Kris
Is this bat end loaded or balanced? brian
The Easton XL1 is an end loaded bat.
Brad
Do you make a bundle Easton XL 1 YB11X1 composite And the composite Easton S1? Bill
Both the XL1 and S1 are new models and at this time, will not be available in a bat pack.
KB
Is this bat the 2012 improved version of the Easton Omen LNC2XL bat from last year? Scott
Yes, this is the new version of the Easton Omen. The XL1 is end loaded.
KB
Which one of the three new XL bats will suit the power hitters the best? Cruncher
They all have a slightly end-loaded feel and are great bats for strong hitters. Choosing between the 3 is a matter of personal preference in my opinion.
Tyler
My son is 12, 5'7 and 130 pounds. He wants to get the 32 22 XL1, but I cant decide if he should get the XL1 or the SL1. He is known to get under the ball sometimes. I am also wondering what weight I should get him. Robb
The XL1 will be end loaded and if he had trouble getting around the zone, then the S1 would be a better choice. It is more balanced and lightweight. We recommend a 32/20 for his height and weight.
KB
Does this bat have the BPF 1.15 that is needed to be eligible for Cal Ripken play? Bob
Yes, this Easton XL1 YB11X1 does feature a BPF 1.15 notation on this bat.
Robb
Trying to decide which would be the better bat and size for my son. He is a 6 foot tall 12 year old at 135 pounds. Not an ox, but pretty strong kid. Thinking about the XL1 or the S1. Or is it just personal preference? We were thinking about 32/22 some kind of bat. dad 33
The XL1 will feel more end-loaded. The S1 will be very balanced. If your son has good strength and above average swing speed, the XL1 would be a good option. If his swing speed is average or below average, I would lean towards the S1.
Tyler
My grandson is 12 years old. Would the XL1 youth 31 inches be good in your opinion? tena
The average size for someone of his age is between 30-31 inches. A 31 inch bat could be good for him, but it is also good to factor in his height and weight and not just age. Feel free to use our bat coach located at the top of the page. This will be a great tool in helping select the right size for your son, or give us a call at 1-866-321-2287 and we can help you out!
Jennifer
Does this bat meet the new BBCOR 1.15 Standards Bud
This bat is not BBCOR certified. Only adult -3 bats will have that certification. If you are referring to the USSSA 1.15 BPF certification, then yes, this bat does have that. If you look at the small pictures at the top of this webpage, you will be able to see this stamp actually on this bat.
Jennifer
Is this bat approved for use in 2012 Dixie Youth baseball? my2chapsrock
This bat is approved for Dixie Youth Baseball. If you look at the small pictures at the top of this page, you will be able to see that the bat is stamped with "Approved for Dixie Youth".
Jennifer
I am 12 years old. I am 5'4 and weigh 160 pounds. I am a power hitter, but I need a bat with more power. Which one would be better for me: The Easton Power Brigade XL1 32/22 youth bat or the COMbat B4 32/22 youth bat? Slugger
Both are great bats. The XL1 is a little more endloaded and may be better suited for a stronger hitter with good swing speed. The B4 is a one piece bat that is also good for a player with good swing speed. But, if you're stronger than average, I may recommend the XL1
Tyler
My son is 12 5'6" and weighs 120. He has used a 31 Worth Copperhead for the last 3 yrs and he has consistantly hit bombs you can't even read any of the writting on the barrel any longer. We have seen 2 of his team mates absolutely crush the ball with this bat. Would it be a good fit? He uses a 31/21 Gen X 2 3/4 BB in Travel, but the ball seems to fly off the XL1. Tony
If he has been using a Worth Copperhead, then this bat would definitely be a great fit for him! The main thing you might need to consider though, is that the XL1 is going to have an end loaded feel, so it might take some getting used to if he has never used an end loaded bat. If he is more used to balanced bats, I would suggest checking out the Easton S1.
Jennifer
My son is 9 and 94 lbs 5ft and a great power hitter. He is currenlty using a friends S1 31 -12 he swings fast and is a power hitter. We are looking at getting him the Xl1 as it has more barrel than the other. His hitting coach said to get him a 30 -10 would this be appropriate? mak attack
Based on his height, weight, and the size bat he's been swinging, a 30 inch 20 ounce XL1 would be a great option, and he should have no problem swinging it.
Tyler
My son is 12 years old, 5'6 140 lbs. he's an excellent all around hitter with outstanding power. He has been using the DeMarini Distance for the last two years and now we're looking for a good composite bat that will maximize his power. What Easton model would you recommend? Triz
If your son is used to the feel of an end loaded bat, I would suggest going with the Easton XL3. This bat is designed more for power hitters to help generate even more power and is a great bat. If he is not used to the feel of an end loaded bat, then I would suggest going with the Easton S3. This bat is similar to the XL3, but it is more balanced and does not have the end loaded feel the XL3 does.
Jennifer
What bat would be better for power, -10 Omen or -10 XL1? Jrod
Both of these bats are great bats. The main difference between the two is the Omen has a more balanced feel and the XL1 has an end loaded feel. Some power hitters prefer the end loaded feel because it can help generate more power. However, if you are not used to an end loaded feel or prefer a balanced bat then the Omen would be a great option as well!
Jennifer
Bought my son an Omen last year that never seemed to break in. I throw to him all the time and the bat only makes the pop sound that we want to hear maybe 2 out of 10 times. He plays travel ball as well as little league and now he wants a new bat since he is not happy with the Omen. Could we have gotten a bad bat? He wants more power in his hits. He has tried his teammates S1 and likes it but I feel he needs more swings with it. Problem is it's not his bat and people don't want to share their expensive bats too much. Looking at the XL1 as well. He's 12 at about 80 lbs. but very athletic. What do you think? Frank
If you are looking for something similar to the Omen, the Easton S1 is probably going to be the best bet. The Easton S1 is the bat that has replaced the Omen and will perform very well. It is possible you got a dead bat because that is not something that sounds very common among these bats. The XL1 is just about the same bat as the S1, but it has an end loaded feel. The Omen is pretty balanced, so if he prefers that balanced feel, the S1 would probably be better to go with than the XL1.
Jennifer
What do you recommend more, the S1 or XL1 if my 12 year old son is 5 foot 3 and weighs 108 pounds? Vince
If your son is a power hitter, we suggest the XL1 which is slightly end loaded. The S1 is more balanced and better for a player who needs quick bat speed.
Kara
is the XL1 the replacement for the Easton stealth speed LSS6XL PK
You could say that. The XL1 is a two-piece IMX composite design much like the LSS6XL and is constructed very similarly. The most recent Easton bat to have this design before the XL1 was the Omen.
Patrick
5'0" 90 pounds. What bat is good for him? Beast
Based on his height and weight, a 30 inch 20 ounce XL1 would be recommended.
Tyler
I know this is the ''new omen" but which bat is better one answer Spen
Your correct in stating that the XL1 is the new Omen, but with with the technology they have used to design the XL1 has only created more power transfer in the swing. Here is the link to view more details on the XL1. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-xl1--yb11x1-youth/14429/
Derek
My son has been using an Easton LSS6XL, looking to buy him a new bat, which bat would you recommend between Easton XL1 -10 & Demarini CF5 for youth? pk
We recommend the Easton XL1: YB11X1 for power hitters because the barrel is end loaded. If you are looking for a more balanced bat, the CF5 would be a better choice.
Kara
In the description it says it has IMX composite, but my bat says it has CNT composite. Did they change the bats? If so which composite is better? Jrod
IMX is the composite material used in the Easton XL1. The CNT is Easton's Carbon Nanotube Technology, which strengthens the bond of Easton's multi-walled designs for extra durability and performance.
Kara
how is the pop? alex
The Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth has as good or better pop than any other composite bat on the market.
Zach
Does the top cap loosen easily? bob
We have not had any issues with the end cap becoming loose on the Easton XL1.
Kara
What is the size difference in length of the barrel between the Easton XL1 & the new 2013 DeMarini CF5 for youth? Pk
The Easton XL1 has a barrel length of 13 1/2 inches.The 2013 DeMarini CF5 is 12 1/2 inches long.
Kara
I am 11 I am pretty skinny.I have very fast hands but I tried the S1 and I don't generate any power with it me. Even if I am not very strong should I considere the XL1 as a good bat for me? Chris
The XL1 will be more endloaded than the S1. However, if you have above average swing speed, the XL1 may be a better option.
Tyler
Hi, is does anyone have any recomendations between this and the Omen? dustin
That all depends on the type of hitter. Both are constructed from the same materials, but the XL1 will be more end-loaded. If you are a stronger hitter with above average swing speed, the XL1 would be a good choice. If you have average swing speed the Omen would be a good option.
Tyler
I'm 13, 110 pounds and I can't decide whether to get a Speed Series bat or an XL series bat. Which one would be better? hechtor
The Speed Series and the XL Series are very similar. The main difference between the two is the Speed Series bats are very balanced, while the XL Series bats have an extended barrel, larger sweet spot design that give the bats an end loaded feel. If you are more used to a balanced bat, then I would go with the Speed Series. However, if you are used to an end loaded bat, then the XL Series will be great for you.
Jennifer
Which bat has a longer barrel, the Easton XL1 or XL2? scott
The Easton XL1 and XL2 have the same barrel length. They both have an extended barrel design with an enlarged sweet spot.
Jennifer
I am 11 4'10" 76lb. Which size do you recommend? Chris
Based on your height and weight, I would suggest going with a 30 inch bat. The weight really depends on what you are comfortable swinging and is usually a step or two up from what you are currently swinging. However, most 11 year olds typically swing a -13 to -12 bat, which would mean your bat would weight between 17 and 18 ounces.
Jennifer
My son is 10, should he be using this bat for batting practice? Aaron512
We recommend not to use composite bats in batting cages that use yellow dimpled balls. Regular baseballs will not damage the composite material.
Kara
How good is this bat? Do you need to be a real strong player to swing this bat good? Is the pop amazing? Baseball freak
The Eaton XL1 uses high quality composite material. It has great pop. It is end loaded, and would be more suited for a power hitter.
Kara
What has a longer barrel and more pop? COMat B4 or Easton XL1? Con
Both the Easton XL1 and the COMBAT B4 have great pop. The XL1 has a slightly longer barrel and is a two piece all composite bat. The COMBAT B4 will be stiffer because it is a one piece composite bat.
Kara
is the 32" bat ok for me im 10 almost 11 coderroy
Yes, a 32" bat would work fine with a 10-11 year old. The YB11X1 has a lot of pop and a slight end loaded feel.
Sean
What has a longer barrel the combat b4 or the easton xl1 con
The Easton XL1 YB11X1 is going to have a longer barrel than the -12 B4 but should have a similar sized barrel compared to the -10 B4. Both are great options with a great amount of pop.
Sean
What is better, Easton XL1 or COMat B4? con
Both the Easton XL1 and the COMBAT B4 are excellent bats with great pop. The XL1 will have more flex and be slightly end loaded. The COMBAT B4 will be stiffer and more balanced.
Kara
My son is 11 and weighs 145lbs, currently he bats with a 31" 18oz Voodoo. He hits with power had a couple homeruns with it. I know the Voodoo is a more balanced bat. My question is would the S1 or XL1 be a better choice as a replacement? Thanks for your time. brawler
The Easton XL1 is an end loaded bat and would be a great choice for a power hitter. If you prefer a balanced bat, the S1 would be a better fit.
Kara
My son used the red Easton Stealth last year which is illegal this year. Which legal bat is most like that Stealth? He bought a Voodoo -13 and is not happy with it. Seems too light and not as much pop as the Stealth. Thank you . Dan
The Easton XL1 would be the best bat similar to the Easton Stealth. It is slightly end loaded, so it will be heavier than the Voodoo -13.
Kara
Will this bat be good for Babe Ruth league in 2013? Seth
Yes, the Easton XL1 will be legal for use in 2013 for Babe Ruth league.
Ryan
My son is a big nine year old boy. He is not fat, but weighs over 110 pounds. Should I purchase him the Easton XL1 or the Easton S1? Big Papa Jr.
The Easton XL1 would be a good fit for him if he is able to handle the extra weight in the barrel. It will help produce power, while the S1 is built more for bat speed.
John
My son is 4' 10" and weighs 115 pounds. He is a pretty strong boy with a thick build. What size Easton XL1 would you recommend? 29" or 30"? Bob
Based on your son's height and weight, I would probably suggest going with a 30" bat. If you need more help in trying to find the right size of bat for your son, feel free to use our bat coach feature on our website.
Jennifer
My Son is 11 5'1 weighs about 90 lbs would you recommend a 31x21 XL or a 30x20 S1? Is there a huge difference? G
Based on your son's height and weight a 30" bat sounds about right for him. There isn't too much of a difference between the sizes, however the XL series will have a slight end loaded feel to it, so it will make the bat feel a little heavier than it actually is. I would probably recommend going with the Easton S1 in a 30" 20 oz.
Jennifer
I have a 7 year old first year kid pitch. I've been hearing a lot of good things about this bat. He has been training with the Maurichi CU26 wood and swinging TPX Omaha in games. They're both 27, wood being heavier, but he swings it very well. Is this 28/18 a good option for my son? WolfPack
The Easton XL1 is slightly end loaded, and would be a great choice for a player with bat speed and power. However, because it is end loaded, we recommend a 27/17.
Kara
Is it a 1.15 BPF rated bat? joe mickiewicz
The Easton XL1 is stamped with the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp. If you look at the smaller pictures at the top of the page for this bat you will be able to see this stamp actually printed on the bat.
Jennifer
Is the XL1 the new version of the Omen? weboy
The Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth is an end loaded version of the Easton Omen.
Zach
Hi, I am 5"2" 100lbs. I am a 12 year old. What are all the sizes for 31 and 32 inch bats? I am a young 12 year old so I will be 13 next year and still be playing on the Little League field. What size bat would be a good fit for me this year and next year? Max
The 31" and 32" Easton XL1 can come in a variety of drop sizes. For your age we suggest using a bat around -9 to -12 drop.
Ryan
Hi, my Little Leagues playoffs start on Saturday. I would like to have my new XL1 for Saturday. I was wondering if I should break it in before my game on Saturday? Joe
Yes. Since the Easton XL1 is a full composite bat it will require a break-in before it can be used in a game.
Jennifer
About how many baseballs do you need to hit in order to make the XL1 broken in? Jim
We recommend taking between 150-200 hits either off of a tee or soft toss, starting at about 40% power and gradually increasing the closer you get to the 200 hit mark. Also, make sure you rotate the barrel in between each hit and use the same balls you would normally use in a game.
Jennifer
Any long term thoughts on whether the XL1 will be still approved for Little League in 2013? Jim T
As of right now we have not heard any rumors speculating that the Easton XL1 will not be approved for Little League play in 2013. It meets all the requirements so we do not believe this bat will be deemed illegal.
John
My son uses the Xl1 22 - 32. The bat has been performing. However, today when we hit the balls comming off bat sounded like the balls were rubber. He was still driving the ball with power but the sound concerned me. I checked for cracks. none. Is that normal for the brigade? Joe
the XL1 is known to be a durable bat. If you feel you bat has become defective, you can contact Easton at 1-888-259-1297 for a warranty replacement.
Tyler
What is the difference between the XL1 and the XL3 ? Jacob
The Easton XL3 is a one-piece alloy design, which is hot out of the wrapper. Here is the link to view more details on this model. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-xl3-bbcor--bb11x3-adult/14434/ The Easton XL1 is a two-piece composite design that does require some break in. You will need to take approximately 200-300 hits off the barrel, while rotating it a quarter turn every few hits. Here is the link to view features on the XL1. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-xl1-bbcor--bb11x1-adult/14436/
Derek L.
Why is it more for the full composite? power_HITTER
The manufacturing process for composite bats is much more labor intensive compared to alloy bats. This is the primary reason why full composite bats are more expensive.
Tyler
My son has an Easton Omen 28in-16oz, and has had really good luck with it. He wants to get a new bat and I was thinking of getting the XL1 29in-19oz. He just turned 8yrs old, 52in tall, and 85-90 lbs. He can hammer the ball down 3rd(most hits), hit the fence in center(some), and go deep right field(ocassionally). He loves the grip of the Omen, and his teammates Combat B4 28-18oz (he hits really well with this bat too). What size/weight/type of bat do you recommend? Thanks for the help! Bryan
The Easton XL1 has replaced the Easton Omen and based on what you said the 29" 19 oz. model would be a good selection. The XL1 is slightly end-loaded and has a longer barrel with a bigger sweet spot.
Damon
I am looking to purchase a bat for my grandson. The last bat that we got him as an Easton S3 and now he is playing select baseball and can use a big barrel bat, so I need to get your opinion which bat would be the best the XL1, the S1 or the XL2 or the S2? Which bat do you think would be the best? And is the composite barrel as good or better than the aluminum barrel? katbear
If your grandson has a lot of power, we recommend the Easton XL1. It is end-loaded, better for a stronger player. The Easton S1 and S2 will be be more balanced, better for a contact hitter who needs bat speed. Composite bats tend to have more pop, because the composite material acts a trampoline.
Kara
What is the difference between this and the Easton Omen? BIGDAWG
The Easton XL1 replaced the Easton Omen. There is not a difference between the two bats.
Kara
I'm 11 years old 4' 9" and 87 lbs. What size should I use? Currently I've been using a -10 31" Omen. Bob
Based on your height and weight we recommend a 30" to a 31" bat.
Kara
My son is 8, plays club team travel. Weighs about 85lbs and is about 46inches. What size would be good for him? src
Based on his height and weight, a 28" 18 oz. model would be recommended.
Tyler
I am 12 years old, 110 pounds, and can hit for both contact and power when necessary. I currently own an easton S1. Is the xl1 a better match for me? tatertot
That depends on your swing speed. If you have above average swing speed, the XL1 may be the bat for you. If you have average or below average swing speed, I would stick with the S1.
Tyler
I'm 5'5 and about 150 lbs. What model do you recommend? BigBerger
Based on your height and weight, the 32" 22 oz Easton YB11X1 would be the recommended size.
Tyler
My son is an 11 yr old - 5'1", 120 lbs. His coach says he has quick hands on his swing. Which model would be good for him Bo
I would recommend a 31" in either the Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth or the Easton S1: YB11S1 Youth. Go with the XL1 if he is more of a power hitter or get the S1 if he is more of a line drive/gap-to-gap hitter.
Nick D
How long is the break in period and what do u do to break it in? r
We recommend 150-200 swings off of a tee or soft toss, turning the bat 1/4 turn with each swing.
Damon
Is the XL1 or the S1 the replacement for the Omen? Mattyfire
The Easton XL1 and the Easton S1 are both considered to be replacements for the Easton Omen. The Easton Omen is a two-piece fully composite bat. The Easton XL1 and the Easton S1 are also two-piece fully composite bats. The only difference between the XL1 and the S1 is that the XL1 has a slightly longer barrel which creates a little heavier swing weight than the S1.
Austin
how does this bat compare to the Omen XL -10? Can't find the bat anywhere and want one that is the closed bat performance wise bib b
The Easton Omen model has been discontinued by Easton. The Easton XL1 is the model that replaced the Omen. Both the Omen and the XL1 are full two-piece composite models.
John
I'm twelve and i weigh 75 pounds & I'm like 5'3 and i have pretty quick swing what is recommended size & bat ? Tall & Skinny
Based on your size, a 30" 20 oz Easton XL1 is recommended.
Tyler
Why no 31" available? Daddy
The 31" model is currently out of stock. We should be getting more in approximately 2-3 weeks.
Tyler
I have very fast hands and I am a small guy that weighs 65 pounds and I am 4'3" but I am an advanced travel ball player. What bat would you recommend for me? Sharksbaseball
I would recommend the Easton S1 because it is a balanced model. It will help with bat control and bat speed.
Nick K.
I am 5 feet 6 inches and weigh 120 pounds. Is this a good bat? What would a good size be for me? slugger
A 32" or 33" would be a good size bat for you. The Easton XL1 youth is a great bat for a power hitter as it tends to be a bit more end loaded.
Damon
I am 75 pounds and 12 years old. I've had the speed in the past. Should I get the Easton XL1 or the Easton S1? Eman
The Easton XL1 features an extended barrel and the weight is distributed toward the end of the barrel. The Easton S1 has an even weight distribution to increase bat speed. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
How many swings will it take to break the Easton XL1 in fully? tyler
We recommend for the Easton XL1 and any bats with composite barrels a break-in period of 150 to 200 swings.
Tom
On the little league website there is a bat called the Easton XL1 YB13X1 along with the XL1 YB11X1. Is the XL1 YB13X1 a newer model? Mattyfire
No. This is the same model and is little league approved. Sometimes these model numbers differ for a variety of reasons.
Damon

The Easton XL1 is approved for Dixie Youth Baseball. It is stamped on the barrel.
Nick K.
I'm 11 years old, am 5'5 and weigh 140. Which bat is best for me? An XL1, XL2, or an XL3 Nate
The Easton XL1 is a two-piece fully composite bat. The Easton XL2 is a two-piece hybrid design (composite handle/aluminum barrel). The Easton XL3 is a one-piece fully aluminum bat. Here is a link to further compare all the models. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
Do you still have the 32" XL1? kevin
We are currently out of stock in the 32" Easton XL1. We receive shipments on a regular basis. As soon as the item is received in our warehouse, our website will be updated.
Kara
Would the bat ever break in half where the CXN connector is? Because my friend has a 31" 21 oz. XL1 and the connector has little pieces of rubber ripped off. kevin
If that were to happen the Easton XL1 is covered by the full 12 month manufacturer's warranty.
Tom
My son really wants this bat in 29 in. or 30 in. Do you guys have this bat in those sizes? Barbara
We do carry the Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth in 29" and 30", but those sizes are currently sold out. Keep checking back and we should get more in soon.
Nick D
Do they make this bat heavier? speedy
Unfortunately, the Easton YB11X1 is only available and produced in a -10 length to weight ratio.
Tyler
I was using my 2012 Demarini CF5 and then I tried my friends Easton XL1. The XL1 definitely seemed like it had more pop. Is this true! AJ
The Easton XL1 and the CF5 are great composite bats. The Easton XL1 does have a longer barrel, which could attribute to the great "pop".
Kara
My son is 8 and weighs 90 pounds. Please recommend a size and weight. Ron
Here is a link to our Bat Coach tool located on website where you can enter in your son's height and weight to figure out the best fit for him. http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tom
I am 10 and 4'10". Is the XL1 or the S1 better for me? baseballer
If you are a power hitter, we recommend the Easton XL1. If you need some bat speed, the S1 would be a better choice.
Kara
My son is 12, about 5' 2" and 95 pounds. Has been using the 31-20 CF4. How does this bat compare and can he handle the extra ounce? JJR
The Easton XL1 will be very comparable to the CF4. However the Easton XL1 is slightly end loaded, better suited for a player with power.
Kara
I am 5' 2" and 115 pounds. What length and weight is recommended for me? J-mac
You will need approximately a 31" bat. See our bat resource guide for more assistance! http://www.justbats.com/bat-resource-guide/selecting-a-baseballbat/
Damon
I am 11 and 5'2". I hit .600 avg in all stars. Should I get this bat or a S1? Big hitter
Both bats use Easton's high performing IMX Composite. The Easton S1 is designed to have a even weight distribution to increase bat speed and the Easton XL1 has an extended barrel to increase power. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
I am 11 5"2 and 110 pounds I want extra power. Should I get the power with the XL1 or from the speed of the S1? Lil dogg
The Easton XL1 will provide more power because it is end loaded.
Kara
Will Easton have a new line of bats for next year? Big dogg
Easton will be releasing their 2013 line in November.
Tom
I have a 33/30 xl1 bbcor my question when i shake the handle of my bat back & forth then i stop i can feel insides of the bat move is this normal or defective? T-BONE14
That doesn't sound too normal and your bat may be considered defective. I would recommend contacting Easton at 1-888-259-1297. Your bat will be covered under warranty through them, and they may be able to offer more insights.
Tyler
I am 12 and weigh 91 pounds. I am a Three hitter but dont hit a ton of home runs and I am fast. would the S1 or XL1 be better? FDR
If you have above average swing speed and strength, the XL1 would be better. If you have average swing speed and strength, the S1 would be better.
Tyler
I am 11 years old and I am 4' 10" and I weigh 83 pounds. Right now I swing a 30" 20 oz and hit 2 home runs. Would the Easton XL1 31" 21 oz. be better or the Easton S1 31" 19 oz.? ace
If you are more of a power hitter the Easton XL1 would be better as it is end loaded. If you are more of a line drive-contact hitter the Easton S1 would be better as it is more balanced.
Damon
What is the best way (if any) to break this bat in? Ryan
150-200 hits off a batting tee. Start at about 40% power and gradually increase. Be sure to rotate the bat a half inch or so in your hands between each hit to ensure even break in.
Tyler
I already know the difference between XL1 and S1. I'm 5'5 100lbs. I can hit for contact and power. What bat would fit the bill best? Abc's
If you already have great bat speed you should go with the Easton XL1. If you're looking for more bat speed you should go with the Easton S1.
Tom
My son is 4' 3" tall and 60lbs. He uses a Stealth 29/16. Would the Easton XL1 be good upgrade or do you recommend something else? jim
The Easton XL1 would be an upgrade, however it is designed more for a power hitter. A bat similar to the Easton Stealth would be the Easton S1. Both the XL1 and S1 are Easton's top of the line bats.
Damon
Do the Convert XL and XL1 have the same size sweet spot? Lefty
The Easton XL1 has a slightly longer barrel for a bigger sweet spot.
Kara
My son is 11 and is 59" and 81lbs. I got him a surge 30"/17 in the spring and wanting to upgrade for next spring. The surge looks like it is really light for him and he swings it very fast. should I consider a 31" for next year with a heavier bat? Is going up 3oz going to be a huge increase? Crutch1010
It's always recommend you move up at least 1-2 ounces with every new bat. This will help provide the player with a smoother transition to heavier bats as they get older. If he had good swing speed with the 17 oz Surge, moving up 3 oz should not be an issue.
Tyler
My Daughter is starting select this year and I wanted to get her a good quality bat. She is 10 and about 4'2 62lbs. My quesiton is which bat is the most appropriate for her size the XL1, XL2 or XL3. Im totally new to this so im clueless about buying bats :-) Dutty
The XL Series are all endloaded for stronger hitters. I would recommend the S Series from Easton. The S1 is their top of the line bat with great pop, followed by the S2 then S3. All are great bats though. Based on her height and weight, a 28" model would be recommended.
Tyler
is the new line of bats for 2013 by Easton going to be like this years where you can "customize your swing" as Easton says? Nick
If you're asking whether or not Easton will keep producing their XL Series and S Series, geared towards different type of hitters, the answer is yes. They will release their new XL and S Series bats in November.
Tyler
My son currently has the Easton XL1 30"/ -10. He loves the bat but it's getting a little small and too light. What is the closest bat around that is slightly bigger (31) and heavier (-7 or -8). Dan C
If your son loves the Easton XL series, he can consider the XL1: SL11X18 which has a -8 length to weight ratio. You could also take a look at the DeMarini CF5: DXCFR which is a two-piece fully composite like the XL1
Tom
My son is 4'3" and weighs about 77 pounds. Would a 29" 19 oz. be too heavy for him? He is currently swinging a 28" 16 oz. COMbat Pure and I wanted to know if this bat would be good for him? I'm just not sure on the size to buy. 808mommy
Based on his height and weight, a 28" 16-18 oz bat would work best. A 29" 19 oz. bat may be a little too heavy for him if he is moving from a 16 oz. bat. I would look at the Easton S1 in a 28" 16 oz.
Nick
I would like to know if this bat is fit for a 12 year old that plays pony? dad
The Easton XL1: YB11X1 is legal for Pony baseball. I recommend our Bat Coach to help determine the best size: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tyler
I am 5'1 and 85 pounds I used the Oman 30-18 this year and had great success with it, I am a power hitter for a 9 year old. What bat would be best for me. big dog
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Since you are a power hitter who has had previous success with the Omen, the bet option for you would be the Easton XL1.
Tyler
Is the XL1 better than the S1 for power hitters? seabass
The Easton XL1 has more weight towards the end of the barrel which is good for a power hitter if you are strong enough to swing end loaded bats. The Easton S1 is designed to have an even weight distribution which helps increase bat speed.
Tom
When can we buy new XL1, YB13X1? We cannot wait to get it,seeing LLWS on TV. Richie
Easton's 2013 line will be released in mid-November.
Tyler
What is the diffrence between the Easton XL1 and the Easton omen? matt
The Easton Omen was replaced with two bats, the Easton XL1 and S1. The XL1 is more end loaded for a power hitter and the S1 is more balanced for a contact line drive hitter.
Damon
How many hits does it take to break in? lori
For the Easton XL1 we recommend around 150-200 swings off a tee or soft toss. Make sure you rotate the barrel of the bat about a quarter of an inch every 15-20 swings to fully break in the composite fibers.
John
What year did this bat come out in? Also would you recommend this bat for a contact hitter? If not would bat would you recommend? I'm 4'8'' and 73 pounds. muffin man
The Easton XL1 was released in 2012. It would be an excellent choice for a contact hitter. We recommend a 29" 19 oz for your height and weight.
Kara
What is the difference between the Stealth Speed XL LSS4XL and the Easton XL1? erok
Both the Easton Stealth Speed XL and the Easton XL1 feature an extended barrel with IMX composite material, so the pop off the bat will be very similar.
Tom
Hi. My brother is 4'2 58 pounds and he is 8. He mostly hits for power. So here are both of my questions 1. should he use a xl1 or xl2? 2. how many oz/in should he use? J.J
Both the XL1 and XL2 are great bats for power hitters. Based on customer feedback, many say the XL1 has a bit more pop, and right now, it's available at a great price. A 28" bat is recommended with a weight between 17 and 18 ounces.
Tyler
What is the all yellow Easton bat that Little League World Series teams are using? When is that bat coming out? And is that bat similar to the XL1? P
The yellow bats are the new 2013 Easton XL series. They are scheduled to be released to the public on November 15, 2012.
Kara
Does the bats top come off? Aj
We have not received feedback regarding the end cap coming off. The Easton XL1 uses top of the line composite materials for great durability and performance.
Kara
Where did Little League World Series players get the yellow Easton bats? Scott
The new Easton bats being used in the Little League World Series will be released to the general public on November 15th.
Tyler
My 10 year old son has a Easton Omen and loves it. Is the XL 1's barrel the same length as the Omen XL's barrel ? Do you think it should be a concern with the weight difference? (-12 vs -10)Thanks in advance Rob
The XL1 will have a slightly longer barrel than the Omen and because of this, the XL1 will have a more endloaded feel. As far as moving from a -12 to a -10... that is completely normal and recommended as your player continues to grow and develop.
Tyler
I read that the all yellow bat used in the little league world series is the 2013 XL1 version. Is there any difference between the 2012 and the 2013 besides the color? Cheryl
The initial specs we have received from Easton indicates the 2013 models will be similar to the 2012 models, only in different colors.
Tyler
Will there be a performance difference between the 2012 XL1 and the 2013 XL1 -3 baseball bats? baseballnickwhite
The 2012 and the 2013 XL1 use the same top of the line composite materials. The color is the only difference.
Kara
My son is 9 and has been swinging a 30 inch - 13.5 alum. bat and a 30 inch -5 wood Sam bat. He has very fast hands. My question is do you think he can get away with the Easton XL1 31" or should I start with the 31" S1. He swings the wood bat good but I dont know about the end load on the XL1. Looking to upgrade for next season. mike
If he has fast hands while using the -5 Sam Bat, the Easton XL1 should work fine for him in the 30" 20 oz.
Kara
I'm 4' 11" and 76 lbs. Do you recommend the 31" in XL1? Hack
Based on your height and weight we recommend the 30" Easton XL1.
Kara
Why do the bats used in the Little League World Series sound like wood? Michael
Many of the bats they use are composite. Once composite bats are broken in they have a different sound than alloy, that many describe more like wood.
Tyler
I'm 4'5 and 103 lbs. what size bat do you recommend? unknown
Based on your height and weight a 30" bat is recommended with a weight around 20 ounces.
Tyler
How does this compare to the combat b3? Is the swingweight lighter or heavier? matt
The Easton XL1 has a slightly heavier swing weight compared to the COMBAT B3.
Tyler
Is this bat Cal Ripken league approved? Steam Roller
Yes. The Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth is approved for the Cal Ripken division.
Tyler
I am 11 years old , 4'6 in and 78 lbs. What size do you recommend? I was thinking the 29 inch bat. Baz
Based on your height and weight we recommend a 29" 19 oz.
Kara
Is this the same bat used in the LLWS? john
This is the 2012 model if the Easton XL1. The yellow bat the players were using in the LLWS was the 2013 Easton XL1 which will be available in November. This has the same IMX composite that will be in the 2013 model.
Tom
Can the 2013 XL1 be pre-ordered before the November release date? Joe
At this time, we are not taking pre-orders on the new Easton XL1 bats.
Kara
I am 10 years old, 4'11" and 102 lbs. What size would you recommend? Also, will the 2013 offer more ranges in size (like a 31" 18oz or 19oz) Dillon
The suggested length for a player your size would be a 30" or 31". Yes, the 2013 Easton S1 will be available in lengths ranging from 28"-32" all with a length to weight ratio of -12.
Tom
My son is 4'6" an 75 pounds is the XL1 a good bat for him? jim
That depends on his strength and swing speed. The XL1 is designed for stronger hitters with high swing speed.
Tyler
My son is 11 years old, 4' 8" and weighs 76 lbs. He is currently swinging a 30" 18 oz. Omen. What size do you recommend in the XL1? Peanut
We recommend a 29" 19 oz Easton XL1.
Kara
Should I wait till the 2013 XL series or just get the bat? e
Both the 2012 and the 2013 models use the same technology. The paint is the only difference.
Kara
What is the bat made of? Los gators
The Easton XL1 Youth is a two piece bat made with Easton's IMX composite.
Damon
My boy is 5'0" 100lb 11 year old, what size would you recommend? Also, is there a difference in performance between the drop 12 and drop 10 like there was with the Omen line? DRC
Based on his height and weight, a 30" bat is recommended with a weight around 20 oz. The Easton XL1 is only produced in a -10 length to weight ratio.
Tyler
Has Easton come out yet with there 2013 bats looking to see there follow up on the XL1? PK
Easton will be releasing their new 2013 XL Series and S Series bats in November.
Tom
I am trying to decide which bat to get my son. Can you tell me what the differences are between the Easton XL1, the COMbat Pure Gear and the COMbat Reloaded? LB
The Easton XL1 is a two-piece bat that is a 100% composite design and it is an end loaded model. The COMBAT Pure Gear is a one-piece composite bat, but it will have some flex to it, which makes it feel like a two-piece bat. The COMBAT Reloaded is a one-piece bat that is fully composite and it is a very balanced bat.
Nick
My son is 12 and currently use a drop 10 omen 31 inch bat. He is about 5ft 2in and weighs 147 and yes he is a power hitter. 2 questions, is the 2013 XL1 going to be different than the 2012 apart from the color and should we stay with 31 inch bat? MJ
The 2013 Easton XL1 is going to have similar specifications as the 2012 model. The 2013 model has the new ConneXion technology for optimized feel at impact while maximizing energy transfer. The suggested length for someone 5'2" is 31 inches so I would recommend staying with that length.
Jeff
I am 4'5'' 57lb what size would you recommend? FLbaseball
Based on your height and weight, a 29" model would be recommended.
Tyler
I am doing a science project and I am seeing whether the mass=power or the speed=power makes the ball go farther. What is the mass of the barrel in a -10 31 inch and 30 inch? Grant
Unfortunately, we do not have information on who much the barrel itself weighs. I recommend contacting Easton at 1-888-259-1297.
Tyler
what is the longest model of the 2012 xl1 bat? I am 5 feet 3 inches tall and use a 31 inch cf4 -11 and I am thinking about waiting to get the 2013 xl1 model in 32 inches. What do you think? sam
A 32" 22 oz, is the largest model the youth XL1 is produced in. If you've been using a 31" -11 CF4, then the 32" 22 oz XL1 would be a good fit.
Tyler
I have been searching for a 32 inch xl1 2012 model but i cant find it, where do you think i should look? Or is it on this website? sam
Unfortunately, we won't be getting any more 32" XL1 Youth bats in stock until Easton releases their new line on November 15th.
Tyler
What is the advantage of a 2013 Easton XL1 Youth compared with the 2012 Easton XL1 Youth? What is the right size for a hitter 5' and 103 pounds? How many players used the 2013 Easton XL1 in the Little League World Series? Paul
The 2013 Easton XL1 is going to be the same as the 2012 model. The only change is the color scheme. The correct size for that height and weight is a 30" 20 oz. The majority of the players in the Little League World Series used the XL1.
Nick
Will there be much difference in the feel (swing) between the 30/19 XL3 and the 30/20 XL1? My son liked the feel of the 30/19 XL3, but I'd really like to get the composite (XL1). Can't find an XL1 locally to try out. Gene
The Easton XL1 and Easton XL3 has similar swing weights. A 20 oz. XL1 will feel an ounce heavier than the 19 oz. XL3. This may not seem like a lot, but it is a slightly noticeable difference.
Tyler
My Son is 11 5'ft 1" 105 lbs he has a Combat B4YB 30/18 is but, recently, has been fixated on me buying the Omen. His coach is recommending the 31/19 -12 Easton XL series. was would you recommend stay with Combat B4 or purchase omen or Easton XL? Ram-Jet
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. This philosophy works better than you might think, and if he's had success with the B4, then I would recommend sticking with it.
Tyler
Should this bat be used in the batting cage or saved for the game? If it shouldn't be used in the batting cage which bat would you recommend to use in the cage? Maverick
As long as you use real baseballs in the batting cage, the Easton XL1: YB11X1 is safe to use.
Tyler
My son is 4ft 8 inches and weighs 65 lbs. He currently uses the Demarini CF4 he also has the 2011 Demarini CF5 which he doesn't care for. Would you recommend the new Easton XL1 or the 2013 Demarini CF5? He has quick bat speed and he is a power hitter. derek
If your son is a power hitter and has quick bat speeds the Easton XL1 would definitely be the bat for him.
Noah
My son is 11, and is 5' 1" and weighs 145lbs. He's a pretty strong kid. What length and weight would you recommend in the XL1 if he would like to try a bat to hit for power. sdmcm
Based on his size, a 31" model of the XL1 is recommended.
Tyler
I am 11, 4'11" and 102 lbs. I currently swing the 32" 20oz. Easton S1. Is this a good bat size? Nick
Using the Bat Coach Feature on justbats.com I was able to find out that a player with your attributes typically use a 30" bat. The Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth bat would be a terrific selection. Plus, if you are already swinging a 32" bat and have good bat control you are just going to be that much more ahead of other kids your age. Just be sure you can swing it with good control and good confidence.
Brandon
Whats the difference between the Easton XL1,XL2 and the XL3 youth bats? coach
The Easton XL1 is a two-piece full composite bat. The Easton XL2 is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and a composite handle. The Easton XL3 is a one-piece full alloy design.
John
My son is 9 years old, 4'5" and 55 pounds. What type of bat would you recommend? John
The Easton XL1 is and end loaded bat, best for power hitters. We recommend a more balanced bat like the Easton S1.
Kara
My son is will be 10 in a couple months. He is about 57" and 74lbs, should I get him the Easton XL1 or Easton S1, and what size in each? Blueclaw32
I would suggest going with a 30" bat for the Easton XL1 or the S1, and when choosing which bat to go with it is all going to come down to his bat speed. If he has real quick hands the end loaded Easton XL1 may be better for him. If he needs to increase his bat speed the balanced Easton S2 will be the best option for him.
Noah
I don't know what to get the 2012 XL1 or 2013 XL1? power hitter
Both bats will be Two-Piece all Composite designs. Both bats will be End-Loaded in swing weight. The 2013 will have a different color scheme and better technology in the handle to eliminate vibration and hand sting. Other than that the 2012 Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth and the new 2013 version will perform the same. The 2013 model will also come with a 400 Day Warranty, whereas the 2012 will have a 365 Day Warranty.
Brandon
My boy is almost 9, 4' 7" & about 78 lbs, currently swinging the green senior Combat 30/18 & consistently is getting doubles and triples. Now I am looking for a little league bat. He swung the 2013 Eason S1 30/18 & way too light & not really hitting to his potential. Would this bat be too heavy at 30/20? Batgirl
A 30" 20oz. bat should be no problem for him to swing if the -12 Easton S1 was way too light. The Easton XL1 is end loaded though, which may make it seem a little heavier. I always recommend to swing at a tennis ball first to really get a good feel for the bat.
Noah
My son is 12, is 5-2 and weighs 94 lbs. What bat do you suggest? He currently has a 30 -11 Easton Stealth Logan in California
Based on that information, a 31" bat is recommended with a weight between 20 and 21 oz.
Tyler
My son is 9, 4'6" and weighs 90 pounds. He will be turning 10 in March. He currently uses a 29 inch 17 ounce bat. I'm wondering what bat you would suggest for him? KingCaden
Based on his height and weight, we recommend the Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth bat in a 30" 20 oz. model. For more information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach tool at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
MY SON IS 5'10 13 YEARS OLD WEIGHS ROUGHLY 115 WHAT SIZE EASTON XL BAT DO YOU RECOMMEND? STICK
Based on his size, a 32" model of the Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth bat is recommended.
Tyler
MY SON 9 AND IS ABOUT 4'6" AND WEIGHS 68 POUNDS. HE REALLY IS INSISTING ON THE EASTON SPEED BAT. WOULD THIS BAT BE OK FOR HIM? WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND. HE IS NOT A BIG HITTER BUT ALWAYS HITS THE BALL WELL. mandylopez33
Using the Bat Coach feature on www.JustBats.com I was able to determine that your son should be using a bat length of 29". The Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth bat will come in a 29" 19 oz. model. This bat will be a two-piece fully composite design with an extended barrel. This is a very popular model for youth hitters. It will have a barrel diameter of 2 1/4".
Brandon
My son is 13 years old and 5'3" and roughly 145 pounds, what bat would you recommend? Titler
For a 13 year old a -5 bat would be a good transitional size that will help him prepare for high school baseball. I would recommend a 31" 26 oz. and the Easton XL1 in that size would be an excellent choice.
Jeff
My son is 5'3" and 12 years old, and weighs about 160. What bat size would be for him? ZJ
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 32" 22 oz. model in the Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth bat. For more information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
Would the 2013 model perform better than the 2012? KHllhjihijbjinjin
The 2013 Easton XL1 has updated composite in the handle that makes it more durable than the 2012 Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth. Here is a link for further comparison http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Aubrey
My son is just turned 9 in December. He is 5ft, and 135lbs. Do you think this is to much bat for him? If so what do you suggest? Will
That's a difficult question to answer without knowing, 1)The length and weight of his current bat. 2)His swing speed and bat control with his current bat. It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.
Tyler
If my 8 yr. old son has been using a Easton XL1 in LL and he starts travel ball does he need a big barrel bat or should he stay with a 2 1/4 since he is use to yet? matt
If he can use a big barrel bat in travel ball, then that is what's recommended. Big barrel bats offer a larger hitting surface and "more room for error" because of this.
Tyler
My son hit the Easton Omen great last year and I was going to get another one but it looks like it is not made anymore. Which Easton model would be the most like the Omen? Price is not an issue. Greg
Both the Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth and the Easton S1: YB13S1 Youth are considered to be replacements for the Easton Omen. Like the Omen, the Easton XL1 and the Easton S1 are two-piece fully composite bats. The XL1 is an endloaded bat, while the S1 is a balanced bat.
Katie
What if I want to order this bat but in a size that is not listed? How long would it take for delivery? Same price? AJG
Unfortunately, we will not be getting any more of the Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth bats in stock. So what you see on our website is what we have left of that item.
Marcus
Can this bat also be used for girl's fast pitch softball? Gilbert
I would not recommend using the Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth bat for girl's fast pitch, it is only approved for play in boy's leagues.
Kevin
My son is turning 8. He is 4'4" and about 76 lbs. He is pretty strong. He is using a Louisville Slugger 27" 17 oz. right now and hitting very well. We are looking for something to improve his hitting a little more. They are not allowed to use big barrel bats in regular season baseball. They only can in All Stars. What do you recommend for him? jamie32
The Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth bat is one of the most popular youth bat choices. The 2013 Miken Triad: YTRI10 Youth bat would be a good bat to look into also. Both could work for your strong hitter. I would bump him up into a 28" 18 oz. size also.
Brandon
My son is 4'6" 68 pounds. Would the XL1 or XL2 be the better bat? Jimmy hat
The Easton XL1 is a two-piece composite barrel and handle bat. The Easton XL2 is a two-piece composite barrel and alloy barrel. Composite is mixture of better metals making a better product and more expensive. Composite bats take a break-in period to warm the metals up to preform at a higher level. Alloy material is warm right out of the wrapper.
Chad M.
My son is almost 11 and we're trying to find the perfect bat for him. He's 55" tall and weighs almost 80 pounds (yeah he's a little guy for his age). Which size would you recommend? I am also looking at the 2012 DeMarini CF5: DXCFL Youth. Any guidance would be great! Dee
A 29" bat is recommended based on his size. The CF5 is more balanced than the XL1. The XL1 is endloaded and better for hitters with above average strength and swing speed.
Tyler
How does this bat differ from the Easton XL1 YB13X1? Mike
The 2013 Easton XL1: YB13X1 Youth bat has the new SIC Black Carbon Composite Handle which will offer a little better strength and durability.
Tyler
My son is 7yrs old. 58 lbs. He is doing his second season of little league IMP baseball. He has a good swing and gets pretty good contact but not getting a lot of pop with the aluminum bats he is using. 28 inches and 15oz. Thinking of going down the composite bat option. He has complained about his hands stinging with the other bats. Is there a certain bat drop or bat type that would help eliminate the sting and get a better pop when hitting? Mr Awesome
Two-piece bats, like this Easton XL1, will offer better sting and vibration reduction. Based on his size, and the information provided about his current bat, I would recommend sticking with a 28" model between 15 and 16 oz. The Easton S1 may be a better option because it is available in a lighter weight that is more balanced.
Tyler
My 10 year old son is 85 lbs and 49". He has been using a Demarini Raven 29" 18 oz. bat and loved it but it was given to him by a friend and we are ready to upgrade. He is a pull hitter but strong and usually pulls at least a double if not triple. Would this be a good bat or is the Demarini CF5 a better match? Brenda
The Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth happens to be end loaded. Which means that there is weight at the end of the barrel. If your son is strong and a power hitter it may work for him. The DeMarini CF5 is more balanced and easier to swing. Which seems more like your son's abilities.
Chad M.
Does it have a composite barrel? sam
Yes, the Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth is a two-piece fully composite design.
Frank
When will you get a 30" 20oz. back in stock? Laffy
The Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth is a 2012 model so we will not be getting anymore of this bat back in stock.
Noah
My son is 12 years old 5' 4" and he weighs 115 lbs. What would be the best bat for him (23", 18 oz.)? Ralph
For your son's size, I would suggest looking at the Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth bat in a 31" 21oz. I would suggest that size for all bat choices.
Robert
My son is 55" and weighs 71 lbs what bad do you recommend? Bing
Based on his size, a 29" 19 oz. model of the Easton XL1: YB11X1 would be the best size option.
Tyler
Is this bat yellow or gray? pat
The Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth has a gray barrel and with black and yellow lettering.
Frank
My son is 5'1" and weighs 75 lbs. What size in the XL1 is best for him? Gary
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 30" model in the Easton XL1. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
My son is 8 and about 50" and 60 pounds. He is playing 8U travel ball. He has pretty good pop already. I'm sure he can swing an Easton XL1 as he currently swings a DeMarini 29" 18 oz. What size XL1 would you recommend? A 28" 18 oz.? Randy
We would recommend the 28" 18 oz. model of the Easton XL1: YB11X1 for a player with your son's specs.
Mac
I am debating whether to get this bat or a Demarini CF5. I am 5'4 and about 120 pounds. I am looking for a good mix of contact and power. Which bat do you recommend? am.i.will?
The Easton XL1: YB11X1 is recommended if you have above average swing speed and power. The DeMarini CF5 is recommended is you have average swing speed and power.
Tyler
Is this bat still approved for Cal Ripken Majors in 2013? scott
The Easton XL1: YB11X1 Youth bat appears to still be legal for play in the Cal Ripken division of Babe Ruth. It has a 2 1/4" barrel diameter, has the BPF 1.15 certification, and is not listed on the current Non-Compliant Bat List: http://staging.baberuthleague.org/bat-rules.aspx. For official ruling, I suggest contacting your Regional League Commisioner.
Mac
My son is 4'9" and weighs about 90 lbs. He's 8 years old and has good power, he also has decent speed. What would be the best weight and length bat for him? Angel
The Easton XL1 Youth would best fit your son with a 30" length and a 20 oz. weight.
Chad M.
What was the all yellow bat that a lot of the little league world series players were using? I also saw an orange one. I see the color of all yellow and I see an Easton XL1 and also something named the brigade. jcs
The Easton XL1 was the yellow bat being used in the Little League World Series. The orange bat was the new Easton MAKO. The Easton XL series (1,2,3) and the Easton S Series (1,2,3) are part of what Easton calls the power brigade series.
Damon
Which year of the XL1 series has a longer barrel; YB11X1 or YB14X1? Al
The 2012 Easton XL1 (YB11X1) and the 2014 model will feature the same barrel length. Easton didn't change much in the overall makeup of the XL1, so both years will be very similar. The only differences will be cosmetic.
Tessa L.
Why did Easton STOP using CNT(Carbon Nanotube Technology)? I noticed the 2011 models were the last to use CNT. What's the word? Al
I would contact Easton's Customer Service Department at (888) 259-1297. They will be able to better answer your question as to why they stopped using their Carbon Nanotube Technology.
John H
Is it worth it to search on various websites for the 2012 XL1 or is the 2014 XL1 as good? purple2
The Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB11X1) and the Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) are very similar in design and will perform to the same level.
Patrick
Are they still making the Easton XL1 youth bat? carl
Unforutnately, the Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat: YB11X1 and the whole XL1 line is no longer being made. It has been replaced by the MAKO XL.
