Description

Easton truly believes that every player should have the opportunity to hit for power. However, the road to power hitting is different for every player. Some players need extra bat speed to reach their full power potential, while others need more weight and a bigger barrel. That's why Easton is changing the game this season and taking an approach to bats that no other manufacturer has ever tried before. Introducing the POWER Brigade; Two series, one distinct result. Whether you prefer the fast swinging Speed Series or the heavier extended barrel XL Series, POWER will be your outcome. Forget flashy designs and gimmicky names, these bats produce RESULTS. The Speed Series (S1, S2, S3) features the lowest Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.) on the market to create light swing weights and generate more power. On the other side of the spectrum, the XL Series (XL1, XL2, XL3) features extra long barrels designed to give players expanded hitting zones and more mass in the barrel, generating more power in every swing. Easton really does strive to fulfill the preferences of any type of player as both series come in two-piece IMX Composite designs (S1 and XL1), two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Aluminum hybrid designs (S2 and XL2), and one-piece THT100 Aluminum designs (S3 and XL3). As for the materials, Easton's patented IMX Composite has proven to be one of the highest performing materials in the game year after year, while THT100 Aluminum provides superior dent and crack resistance. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology and you have a new line of bats that is second to none. Easton: We Believe In Power! This bat is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Bat is great. I've hit with a few different bbcor bats and i have to say this is my favorite. The XL bats are supposed to be top heavy but i really can't feel the difference in it in the speed myself. It's a great bat.

Cons: All good bats come with a price so i don't think this is to too much. remember that you get what you pay for.

Pros: Bought this and a Rip it prototype2, the Easton is hands down the better bat. I was not expecting the XL1 to be this hot because of the BBCOR rule, but this bat is well worth the price tag. Bat feels and sounds great.A+

Pros: I know some people are saying that the XL2 and the XL3 are better bats and that price doesn't matter but that't wrong! This is the most balanced of the XL bats and is also composite so the ball goes much further. If you can afford it get it! It's one of the best out there for sure!

Cons: High price but who cares if you can afford it!

Pros: Think this bat may have as much pop as 2011 Stealth Speed. Like the XL version a lot. Balance is similar. Cleared a fence today - - - not sure how far, but only two balls cleared it in 20 home games last summer. If you square it up, it'll go. Nice bat.

Cons: Have to use a 5150 most of the time because it's still so cold up north.

Cons: My first bat broke at the handle/barrel connection within 60 days of owning it. I read this might be a problem. Replacement comes without warranty. If the replacement lasts as long as the first, I might be out $400 in less than 6 months!

Pros: Great weight distribution, not top heavy, great pop off of the bat. makes an awesome noise too. I am by no means a power hitter and i am hitting doubles with ease. You just need good bat speed to hit great with this bat!

Cons: Though it has a large sweetspot, if there is a mis hit toward the end of the bat your end result will be a weak ground ball or weak line drive.

Pros: i love the composite sound and it has great pop on the massive sweetspot. it seems like every hit is on the sweetspot. if you have the right swing and actually LEARN good hitting mechanics you can have a lot of bat speed just like the speed series. dont let that stop you from buying this bat!

Cons: 1. EXPENSIVE 2. break in period- not too big of a deal it will out perform alloys later

Absolute must for power hitters Joker-Forever97 player

Pros: Absolutely amazing pop, I got this after using a friend's Voodoo and my old Vexxum. I'm here to say it's the greatest as far as pop. I am a high school player, and consistently hit the warning track. This bat gives you that extra distance any power hitter wants. It's very end loaded, but if you have the desire for that feel, buy this with no hesitation.

Cons: Broke after a year, very, very delicate around the handle area. I accidentally stepped on the handle and it was done.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB11X1? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Excluding the XL3, would a power hitter like the XL1 or XL2 better? ?????
XL1 is a 2 piece all composite, and the XL2 is a 2 piece composite handle/alloy barrel bat. They both are excellent bats.
Linda
Are the sweetspots on the XL 1, 2 , and 3 the same size??? Boomba
All of the XL's will have the same sweet spot. The Speed series by Easton will have smaller barrel size compared to the XL's.
John
other than what they are made of, what are the differences between the XL1 and the XL2? ???
You nailed it on the head. That is the only difference. The XL1 is two-piece, all composite bat. The XL2 is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle.
TJ
What are the difference's in performance of the 3 bats in the XL series?? Mississippi Mud Dawg
The XL1 is an all composite bat that will have more pop than the XL2 and XL3. The other XL bats will have alloy barrels and nice sweet spots.
KG
will an all composite bbcor produce more pop than a hybrid bbcor? YaMan
The all composite will have the best pop once broken in, the Hybrid will have the more immediate pop.
Linda
Is this stiff flex? lfwjfnfjkwjkef
Even though it is a 2 piece bat, it hits more like a 1 piece.
Linda
I am 5"10, 147 pounds. Is there a certain bat size that would be recommended going into high school? EastonAllDay
A bat size suggested for you is 32 inches. The only requirement for high school bats is that BBCOR certification.
Shelbe
What do you believe is the best OVERALL bbcor bat on the market comparing to the old BESR bats? 942935792733482358
This is a good one, all of the new Easton bats, depending on your batting style and preference, are awesome.
Linda
How does the balance of this bat compare to the rip it prototype 2? j123
The Rip It is going to be more balanced. The XL1 is an end loaded bat.
Kara
Does this bat have a bigger barell than the omen bbcor pbgthunder12
Both are going to have the same sized barrel. The XL1 will have a longer barrel though
Sean
Based on performance, is the Omen or XL1 better? Ballplayer
Both are great models, the omen is going to feel more balanced than the XL1
Sean
Does bbcor and .50 certified mean the same thing, and is this bat both? Bags
Yes, it means the same and this bat is both.
K.B.
If I liked the stealth speed II, would this bat be similar to that? Easton
Yes. This is a replacement of the Omen which was a replacment for the Stealth Speed.
K.B.
At 5'6" and 155 lbs and 14 yrs old what batsize would you recommend I have to use a -3 BBCOR FOOTBALLHEAD
Right now, a 32 inch bat would probably be the best option. However, if you want a bat you can use for several years, you may want to look at a 33 inch model.
TJ
i think im stuck between the cf5 and all of the power brigades (mostly the xls). I would like your input on the s and xls very much. And i also dont know whether to get (if i get the power brigades) the s or xl. Im 5' 9' 1/2 and weigh about 164. i hit a lot of double and had 2 hrs but i also have a lot of singles too. but more doubles i think. i havnt had a bbcor before and im stuck. Also i have had the voodoos in the past and have loved them. if i get the power brigade which would you suggest for me (i mean all composite, half and half, or all aluminum). Anything helps because i am very stuck. thx again thtbaseball guy
I would suggest looking at a composite barrel XL. This bat has very good pop and will be a perfect fit for that type of hitter. This bat will be similar to the Omen and will be a very good BBCOR bat.
KG
Are there rings inside the barrel or is it a thickened tuned barrel? Falcons31
There are no rings in this bat. Easton just made the walls thicker to meet BBCOR standards.
KG
Is there a minimum outside temperature in which the xl1 should not be used? Gary
Most manufacturers recommend not to go below 52 degrees.
Linda
how much heavier does the xl1 feel compared to the s1? bronx bomber 14
The XL series will have a slightly end loaded feel and the bat will feel about a half oz heavier.
KG
How long does it take to break in? mikey1397
We recommend 150-200 swings off the tee or soft toss. Make sure you rotate the barrel of the bat about a quarter of an inch every 15-20 swings to help fully break in the composite fibers.
John
I read on baseball-bats message board in a post by an Easton engineer that the XL1 actually has a lower MOI, or a faster swing speed, than all the Power Brigade speed series bats except the S1. Is this accurate? robm99
The speed series would indicate the these were created for players that are looking for more control with a lower MOI, and the XL series is constructed with an extended barrel with a higher MOI.
Shelbe
Im 6'3 and 245 lbs what bat size do you recommend i use. ????
Our charts are recommending you to swing a 34" model.
John
33. 30
Chappo 310
Why is there be a break in period for the XL 1? BBCOR standards disquilify bats that have performance gains through a break in process. Hookedup
There is still just a slight break in, nothing like the old composites. But my general rule of thumb has always been hit a new bat in practice before putting it into a game situation first, just to get a feel for the bat.
Linda
what is the difference between to XL1 and the S1? chops
The XL1 will be more end loaded than the S1
John
How will this bat reacted in 30 degree weather ? And can it be used ? We live in Ohio and the weather in the spring is 30-45 degrees. Maverick
We advise not using it in temperatures below 50 degrees, it will greatly reduce the durability and lifespan of the bat
John
In your opinion which bat is better? The XL1 or the Z1000? vag1518
Both bats are great options. It will come down to player preference on if the player prefers the one piece or the two piece bat.
John
I am a conventional hitter who has extraordinary power behind every swing but wouldnt consider myself a "power" hitter (triples over rightfielder, gap doubles, and topspin singles). Which, the xl1 or s1, would be best for me? Also, does the composite barrel tend to last longer than the alluminum (xl1 vs xl2)? I need to last two seasons! JoeyPap
Alloy barrels tend to last longer than composite, but composite bats tend to have more pop. The XL1 is more end loaded than the S1.
K.B.
i am 30 years old ,5.8 ft height and 193 lb weight. Which size XL1 do i need ? vag1518
The 34/31 is best suited for your height and weight.
Kara
I am 6'1" and was wondering if i should swing a 32 inch or 33 inch model? cole
For a person over 6', I would suggest a 33" 30oz.
Ryan
When does this bat come out? Mr.solo dolo
The sizes we show are in stock.
John
Looking to purchase for my 14 yr old son who's 5'9 & 205lb. Is this the right type of bat (XL series) for a strong contact hitter playing 14U travel & entering HS next year? What size would you recommend? Thanks in advance. Chi-Dad
This bat is a great option. It has a large sweet spot and tons of pop. A good size will be a 33 or 34".
KG
My son is a 17yr 5'11 168 with a lot of power for his size. We quit using Stealth bats years ago because the pop would always leave after 6 to 8 weeks. Do you think Easton has solved this in the XL1 series? jake26
This bat will have tons of power and a large sweet spot. The composite material in this bat will last much longer and give you more pop throughout the season.
KG
I just got this bat. How long should it take to break in and what are the best ways to break it in? andrew
Usually the composite bats will take anywhere from 200-300 hits to heat up the barrel to max pop. When taking batting practice to break in the bat, make sure to rotate the bat a 1/4 turn during the hitting cycle. This assures the composite material on all sides will be broken up to get the bat ready.
Derek
I am 120 pounds and 5'5, what size and weight should I buy? baseball
The recommended length of bat for someone your size is about 30 inches. As far as weight goes, if you are looking for an adult bat, they are all going to be -3. This means the weight you will need for a 30 inch bat is going to be 27 ounces. The following link will provide you will all the 30" 27 oz bats we have available: http://www.justbats.com/products/baseball%20bats~adult/length~30%20inch/weight~27%20oz/approved%20for~bbcor/
Jennifer
I usually get a new bat for every season due to extreme use during the season and I've decided to go with the XL series but I'm having trouble decided between the XL1 and XL2. What's your suggestion? Nick
Both of the bats are great choices and are very similar. Between the two choices, it basically comes down to what material you would rather hit with. The XL1 is going to have a composite barrel, so it will have quite a bit of pop, but will require a break in. The XL2 has an alloy barrel, so there is no break in required and it will be hot right out of the wrapper.
Jennifer
How is the balance of this bat compared to the Voodoo or the Z-1000? Nanakuli Banga
The new Easton XL line of bats tend to have a slight end loaded feel to them. This end loaded feel will give the player more power. The Z-1000 and Voodoo have a more balanced feel which gives players a faster swing speed.
Kris
I had the CF5 last year and didn't like it at all. Now im debating the XL1 and S1. I've got above average bat speed but would like to increase it. Also is the CF5 similar to the XL1 when it comes to weight distribution? wtodd10
If you have average bat speed that you want to improve, go with the S1. It has a lower MOI which equals a lighter swing weight. The XL1 will be slightly more endloaded than the CF5.
Tyler
I demoed the S1 a few days ago and I liked it a lot (especially the composite feel). Since I am a bigger guy that has decent bat speed, would the XL1 would be a better fit for me? grif
The XL2 is slightly end loaded and would be great for power hitter with good bat speed.
KB
What are the differences between the bb11x1 bb11x2and bb11x3? Gary
The materials used in these bats will be different. The XL1 is a all composite bat, the XL2 is a two piece, composite handle alloy barrel, and the XL3 is a one piece alloy bat.
Kris
Is the bat baby blue? carlos
This bat is not baby blue. It is white and black.
Jennifer
I have a quick question. I am a pretty decent hitter, had 4 home runs in my 13u league using the Stealth Speed -12. The thing is this year, we have to use -3... big difference! Which bat do you think would be best for me, the XL1 or the S1? hitta'
I would probably suggest going with the S1. This bat will be more balanced and will be easier for you to swing since you have to make such a big jump in size. The XL1 has more of an end loaded feel to it, so it might be a little hard to swing if you are used to a -12 bat.
Jennifer
i heard the bat is now illegal? wilson
The Easton XL1 still meets the requirments for the BBCOR certifications, making it legal for 2012. If we receive word on any changes to the ruling, it will generally be posted on our site under the features portion on each bat page. I am 5'5 and 125 pounds. Would you guys recommend me using the Xl1, the S1, the 5150 Velo, or the Z1000. I am a line drive gap hitter. dodgerfan340
If you are more of a gap hitter I would go with the S1. The other bats are great bats, but are more geared towards power hitters. The S1 should be a great fit for you!
Jennifer
im am 5'8 120 pounds what should i use the xl or the s1? monster
That depends on your strength and swing speed. If you are above average in strength and have above average swing speed, go XL1. If you have average strength or want to increase your swing speed, go S1.
Tyler
For a contact hitter, which XL would be best? boss
I would suggest going with the XL1 or XL2. Both of these bats are two piece bats and will be great for contact hitters. These bats do have an end loaded feel. If you prefer a more balanced bat, I would suggest checking out the S1 or S2. These are similar to the XL series, but they are more balanced and are built a little better for a contact hitter.
Jennifer
What is the best bat for a power hitter type? steve
Most power hitters prefer the feel of a one-piece bat. These bats will be very stiff and will help generate more power than a two-piece bat, which is usually more preferred by contact hitters.
Jennifer
My son is going into high school and is 6' 150 lbs. His current bat is an XL Series, 31" 26oz. He's a gap hitter with good pop. I'm looking at getting an XL1. What size do you think is best? Sflo236
Based on your son's height and weight, we recommend a 33" 30oz Easton XL1 BBCOR.
Kara
I am a leadoff hitter focused on getting doubles and singles and currently have a Z-1000. Should I look into an XL1 or S1 since I'm a contact hitter? beastaatbaseball7
If you are a contact hitter, the Easton XL1 or S1 would be perfect for you. Both of these bats are two-piece bats that are great for contact hitters.
Jennifer
I am 5'10 and 13 years old. Should I get a 31" or a 32". Also I am a power hitter would I be better off getting a Rip- It, Easton XL1, or COMbat B3? BaseballHitter002
And end loaded bat like the Easton XL1 BBCOR and the Rip-It are better suited for power hitters. The Rip-It will be more stiff and the XL1 will provide more flex.
Kara
What separates the XL1 from the S1 ? Baylee
The S1 is evenly balanced. The XL1 will have a more endloaded feel.
Tyler
Which is better 2013 DeMarini CF5 or Easton XL1? Huntman
Both the DeMarini CF5 and the Easton XL1 are two-piece composite bats that are great choices. They will perform just about the same in terms of pop and performance. The main difference between the two is the XL1 has a slight end loaded feel to it and the CF5 is a balanced bat.
Jennifer
I bought the new easton XL1 this year. I've heard that dimpled balls, the ones used in batting cages, are unsafe to use with this bat. Is this true? Swanny
Dimpled pitching machine balls are known to be very dense and can cause damage to any bat. We recommend that you only use real leather baseballs in the batting cage, or use a different bat strictly for batting cage use.
Tyler
How do you recomend breaking in this bat? asdf
100 to 150 swings off of a tee, rotating the bat a quarter of a turn each time will evenly break down the composite material.
Zach
Which Easton XL would be best for a power hitter with above average bat speed? MI_mom
All the XL bats are designed for stronger hitters with above average bat speed. The rest comes down to personal preference. I recommend sticking with a similar bat, in terms of design and construction, to what the player has had success with in the past.
Tyler
Do these bats have a history of breaking at the handle where the handle connects to the barrel? MR.BIGBAT
The Easton XL1 BBCOR does not have a history of breaking at the handle. The XL1 is a very durable bat.
Nick
Which is more durable, composite barrel or aluminum barrel? Matt
Both will be similar. They break down in different ways. Usually aluminum barrels will dent while composite barrels will crack.
Damon
Hello. I need a new bat for a 13-15 league. I want to get this bat but I don't know if it is legal or not? ChickyChickyBoomBoom
If your league requires the BBCOR standard the Easton XL1 BBCOR will be a legal bat.
Damon
I am trying to decide whether to get the Easton S1,the RIP-IT Prototype II, or the Easton XL1. I have pretty good bat speed and gap to gap power, but more of an line drive contact hitter. Which bat is better suited for me? Jaylen Smith
If you are a line-drive contact hitter the Easton S1 would be your best bet as it is the most balanced of all three.
Damon
When is Easton's 2013 line of bats coming out? e
Easton will release their 2013 baseball bats around mid-November.
Tyler
What is the difference between the Easton XL1, XL2, and XL3? Thanks JD
The Easton XL1 is a two-piece full composite bat. The Easton XL2 is a two-piece hybrid bat, meaning it has a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The Easton XL3 is a one-piece full alloy bat.
Jennifer
5'11" 186lbs 14 years old what bat should i get xl1 or s1? i am a power hitter but need a little more bat speed bob
Well, if you think you have average or below average bat speed, the S1 would be a better choice for you as it has a lighter swing weight compared to the XL1.
Tyler
Which bat is better for a contact hitter? The XL1 or the 2013 Voodoo? Thanks you if you can help. kmac
Since both bats are two-piece, they will work well for a contact hitter. The Easton XL1 and the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo are both high performing bats with a lot of pop.
Nick K.
Hi I'm 12 years old and 210 lbs and my height is 5'6. As of right now i can't decide between a XL1 and a S1. I currently swing a easton omen (32" and 22oz.)and love easton bats. I hit alot of hard line drives and I know I want to stick with a composite bat. My bat speed is pretty good and so is my power, I don't know which bat will maximize my potential as a hitter. What do you think is best? Mattdaman412
Both the XL1 and the S1 are top notch composite bats. If you are looking for bat control and easier bat speed, I would go with the S1. If you want to hit for more power, I would choose the XL1.
Nick D
Hi, I'm 12 years old, weigh 215 lbs and I am 5'6". I am looking for an Easton BBCOR bat for next year on the big field. I currently swing an Easton Omen 32" 22oz. I have pretty good bat speed and a ton of power, but I dont know what bat is right for me. What do you think is the best way to go? mattdaboss41214
Given your size and power I would lean towards the Easton XL1 which replaced the Omen and is made for more of a power hitter.
Damon
I was wondering which bat, xl1 or s1, would be better for me. I am 5'6" and 115 i have good bat speed and decent power. thank you cwill
If you have a consistent swing and are looking for more power then the XL1 may be what you are looking for. If you love balanced bats and think that is what you want to stick with then the S1 is for you.
Shelbe
Which barrel is longer the S1 or the XL1? ryguy123456789
The Easton XL1 has a longer barrel than the Easton S1.The XL1 is also end loaded whereas the S1 is balanced.
Nick D
I am trying to decide whether to get the Easton S1, the Easton XL1 or the XL2 . I have pretty good bat speed and gap to gap power, but more of an line drive hitter. Which bat can maximize my potential? Jay
If you are a line drive hitter I would go with the Easton S1 as it is a more balanced bat, whereas the Easton XL1 and XL2 are designed more for a power hitter.
Damon
I am trying to decide whether to get the Easton XL1 or the XL2 . I have pretty good bat speed and gap to gap power, but I'm more of a line drive hitter. Which bat can maximize my potential? GoldGlover7
The Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB11X1 has an extended composite barrel that will provide a little bigger sweet spot than the XL2. Being that you are more of a gap to gap hitter, you may also want to check out the Easton S1. The S1 is more of a balanced bat compared to the endloaded XL1.
Nick D
If I re-tape the handle of a bat is the warranty still in affect? AJ
Re-taping the bat will not void the warranty.
Kara
I've always been a home run hitter till this season and the change of bats. I have signed with a college to play ball and I want that homerun streak again. Which bat is the best for me? tanner

According to our Bat Coach feature, a 31" bat is recommended. I would recommend the Easton XL1. It is a very high performing bat that would work well for a power hitter.
Nick K.
I am a hitter with gap to gap power, and I have good bat speed. I typically perform better with stiff flex bats. Which would be better; Easton XL1 or Easton XL3? Ben
If you hit better with bats that or more stiff, the Easton XL3 would be a great fit for you. It is a one-piece fully aluminum bat. One-piece bats will have a stiffer feel than two-piece bats.
Tom
I am very much a power hitter, and i can swing any bat up to 33 oz. fast enough. which power brigade bat is the best for me? Specialist
If you are a stronger hitter with high swing speed, then a bat from the XL Series would be the best. The XL1 is Easton's top of the line bat with great pop.
Tyler
What is the difference between the XL1 and the XL3? bigman54
The Easton XL1 is a two-piece full composite bat. The Easton XL3 is a one-piece aluminum bat.
Shelbe
I'm 12 and i just finished my major season going into juniors and i recently used the XL1 32/22 and was hitting home runs and line drives mostly and was wondering what XL bat should i use? IDK
If you have used the XL1 previously with success, you should continue to use the XL1 in the Adult model. Players are much, much more likely to have continued success if they stick with same type of bat they have previously used with success.
Tyler
I am 5'2" 103 pounds going on to the big field. Which bat is better for me to use, the s1 or the xl1. I have the most home runs on my time. JA
If you have above average strength and swing speed, the XL1 would be a great option. If you have average strength and swing speed, the S1 would be the better option.
Tyler

My son who is 13 used a CF4, -11, 2-1/4 for league and a VooDoo, -9 for travel. Hit very well. He used a -5, TRX as a transition to the -3 this year and also hit well. Should he go to the Easton XL2 or the S1 for the -3? Hits #2, more of a single, double, on-base type hitter. Bob

I am looking for a BBCOR bat that i can get around fast and has a light swing weight and a good amount of power. I NEED A LIGHT SWING WEIGHT the most. Which bat would you suggest, this bat or 2013 CF5 BBCOR? daniel
The Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB11X1 Adult is end loaded and will swing a little heavier than most models. If you're looking for a light swinging model, I recommend going with the 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult, as it's very balanced and high performing.
Katie
I am looking for a composite bat with a big sweet spot. I will only use this bat in games, not cages or practice. I hit a lot of singles. Would this be good, or should I go with a CF5? beast
The Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB11X1 Adult has an extended barrel for a bigger sweet spot. It would be a great choice for a singles hitter.

The new SIC black carbon composite in the handle was to designed to increase durability. The pop is the same as the composite material in the barrel of the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult and the Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB11X1 Adult is the same.

Brandon

Yeah, for the most part the only difference between the 2012 and the 2013 is the SIC Black Carbon Composite Handle which is featured in the Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB13X1) Adult. The Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB11X1) Adult features their Carbon Nanotube Technology (CNT).

This Easton XL1 BBCOR: (BB11X1) Adult bat features the IMX Composite material in both its handle and barrel. The 2014 XL1 BBCOR also has the IMX Composite barrel, but it features the upgraded SIC Black Carbon Composite material in its handle. Jason

The Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB11X1 came out in 2011.
Marcus
