Description

New for The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The XL1 is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: This is the best BBCOR out there. Perfect weight distribution and you don't have to be the biggest guy to swing this stick. You actually make more contact because of the bigger sweetspot and it feels 10 times better than the S1. Really consider this bat when buying an Easton.

Cons: The whole team wants to use it and touch it.

Pros: This is the best bbcor bat you can buy. There is a massive sweetspot which makes it easier to hit the ball perfectly. I prefer the xl1 more than the s1 because you can get more power on the xl1 because it is more endloaded. There is not a lot of sting when you get jammed or when you hit the ball off the end of the bat.

Cons: None. Great bat.

Pros: Amazing bat. The barrel size is the biggest in the market. The long barrel can generate constant contact and home runs. The pop is unbelievable. This is also one of the best bat designs around.

Cons: While people may think this bat is unbalanced, that's wha it's meant for. I am a contact hitter. I got this bat and while it was heavy at first, I adjusted my swing easily. Dont let the weight keep you from buying this bat.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB13X1? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What is the difference between this years xl and last years? big hitter
Both will be similar in swing weight and performance, but the 2013 XL1 features a new composite in the handle that gives it a little more strength and durability.
Tyler
My Easton XL1 I had last year broke 3 different times, has this year's model been reported to have problems in endurance? Alec
Because the 2013 Easton XL1's have not been released to the public yet, we have not had any reviews positive or negative on the 2013 model.
Tom
Is this bat going to be a little more end heavy than last years model? Nick
The weight distribution of the 2012 and 2013 Easton XL1's will be the same, but the 2013 will have a new SIC Black Carbon composite handle.
Tom
I'm 5'8 and 165 pounds. What bat weight to length should I get 32/29 or 33/30? BigB
Please check out our cool sizing feature called the "Bat Coach." Here is the link: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
John
In the **PRE-BOOK** a 31" 28 oz. is not shown. Will that become available? Bill

Aubrey
I'm 13 years old 5'5 and 120 pounds what size bat would be good for me? Chas
Based on your size, a 31" adult BBCOR bat is recommended.
Tyler
When will this bat be available for purchase? Alec
The 2013 Easton XL1 is available for purchase now. Because this is a Pre-Book order it will ship out on the release date which is November 14th with free 2nd day air.
Tom
I don't see an option for a 32" 29OZ. Will this size be available in the 2013 models? Mark
Yes, the 2013 Easton XL1 will be available in 32" 29oz.
Tom
I am a power guy that loves composite bats. Which bat do you suggest, this one or the 2013 CF5? Dom
If you're a power hitter with above average swing speed, the XL1 would be recommended as it has a more endloaded feel compared to the CF5.
Tyler
Will the new composite in the handle of the XL1 make it a stiffer handle with less flex? Matt
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult bat will have the same Two-Piece all Composite material design as last year. Typically, Two-Piece designs do not feel as stiff as a true One-Piece design. If you are looking for the stiffest feel try picking up and swinging the 2013 Easton XL3 BBCOR. It is a One-Piece all Alloy model.
Brandon
What is the difference between this and the 2012 model? Flocco
The 2013 Easton XL1 will feature a new SIC Black Carbon composite handle.
Tom
Does this have a bigger sweet spot than the 2012 model? Dominic
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR will have the same sweet spot as the 2012 model. The 2013 model will use upgraded composite in the handle for added durability.
Nick
When will it be released to the public and if I buy it now, when will I receive it? Eric
The **PRE-BOOK** 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult bat will be ready to ship on November 14, 2012. It will come with FREE 2-Day Air. You will have it in your hands on November 16.
Brandon
Is it big barrel and whats different on it then the XL1 2012 because that's what I have? Daly
All adult bats are considered "big barreled" and the 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 has a 2 5/8" barrel. See some of the previous questions and answers for the difference between the 2013 and 2012 models.
Tyler
What length should i have if i am 5'5 120 pounds? Daly
Based on your size, a 31" model of the 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 is recommended.
Tyler
I'm 13 years old 5'7" about 115-120 lbs, what size would you recommend? devilsfan19
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend a 31" 28 oz. in the 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1. For more sizing information, please visit our bat coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
When does this bat come out? debow
This bat is being released to ship on 11/14. It comes with FREE 2Day Air Shipping.
Brandon
what should have more pop the 2012 or 2013 XL1? witch model would you recommend i want something with pop but in the XL Jacobo
Both will have the same amount of pop. The 2013 model does feature a new composite in the handle to better reduce vibration and sting.
Tyler
My son used a Easton Omen -5 last season. This year he must go to a -3. Comparing bats out of the box which feels more like a Easton Omen, an XL1, S1, DeMarini CF5, or something else. Thank-you, Nathan Notter Nathan
The Easton XL1 will feel a little more endloaded than the Omen. The Easton S1 will feel a little more balanced than the Omen. In my opinion, the CF5 will be most similar in terms of overall balance.
Tyler
Will the new composite handle affect the performance compared to the 2012 model? twinkle toes
The new composite handle is a minor upgrade in the quality of the composite material and shouldn't affect performance in a major way.
Jeff
how does this bat compare to last years S2? more or less end loaded? more or less pop? hardhitter
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 is a two-piece, full composite bat that is endloaded. The Easton S2 is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. As far as which has the most pop, that depends on the hitter. A powerful hitter with high swing speed will have more pop with the XL1. A hitter with average or below average strength and swing speed will have more pop with the S2.
Tyler
How does the XL1 compare to a wood bat as far a weight distribution goes. I like the balance distribution of wood and am trying to find a bat that copies that feel. J-Money
That all depends on the turning model of the wood bat. Different turning models will have slightly balance points. The XL1 is an endloaded bat similar to many wood bats though.
Tyler
I am a 3 hole hitter for my team. I hit a lot of wall balls with the S1 this year. But I have great batspeed. So, would this XL1 help get the ball over the wall? or longer carry at least to the ball? Dominating 24-7
If you have above average bat speed, the endloaded design of the XL1 will help you to generate more inertia, which will translate into more power.
Tyler
I am 14 years old, 5'10 and 190 pounds and will be facing the fastest pitchers this year. I am strong and have good bat speed but I would prefer a more balanced bat and want to hit for power, so which XL model would be best for me or is there not much of a difference? Bo
The Easton XL Series bats are designed for power hitters and they are slightly end-loaded. If you are looking for a truly balanced bat then the Easton S Series bats would be a better choice. As far as the differences between the models, they are different but one is not necessarily better than the other. It depends greatly upon player preference, strength, swing speed and reaction time.
Jeff
I am 5'9 130 lbs, I am looking for either an S1 or XL1, I need it for 2013 Spring, Summer, and Fall. What length should I get in the drop 3? YASH
I suggest getting a 31" 28oz. bat. You should get the 2013 Easton S1 if you are a contact hitter. If you are more of a power hitter the Easton XL1 will be better for your.
Noah
I am 16 years old, 5'11 185 pounds and hit in the 4th spot. Which Easton bat would make the most sense for me? T-Rip
The Easton XL1 BBCOR is a two-piece composite bat and is end loaded for a power hitter. So If you hit in the 4th spot this would be the ideal Easton bat for you.
Damon
I am 14 years old, 5'9' 200 pounds. I am one of the strongest hitters on the team and would like to know what model would suit me best? The Xl series or the S series? Your answer will be greatly appreciated. DB
If you have above average strength and swing speed, an XL Series bat will be recommended due to the endloaded design.
Tyler
I used the 2012 easton XL1 -5 last year. Do you think I should move up to the -3 XL1 this year or the S1. I lead off or hit second most of the time. Which one would fit me better you think? Nick
If the Easton XL1 -5 worked for you last year, the 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult should work for you.
Zach
If I used the Easton XL1 -5 last year, and it worked well, and still hit first or second, and have good bat speed will I still have almost the same amount of bat speed when I move up to a -3 XL1 or should I go with the S1 to help still have good bat speed, and not be late on the ball? Trani
The 2013 Easton XL3 BBCOR bat will be just fine. You are moving up two ounces, but since you were always successful with it in the past you should stick with the same bat even though your bat speed may drop a little bit at first.
Noah
i\Is this bat alot better than the 2012 XL1? lfrizzle
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult has an upgraded composite in the handle.
Zach
Last season I used the XL1 32/29 I really liked it but I would like to try the Speed series, is the S1 the best of the speeds? And is the 2013 speed series any different than the 2012? Gavin G
The 2013 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB13S1 has a composite barrel, which tend to out perform alloy bats. They have upgraded the composite material in the handle for better durability.
Kara
Hello my son is 6'2 210 pounds playing in a 35 and over league is this bat recommended for his size? Also is there a 37 inch available? Easton
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult bat is a great choice for the Adult player. At your son's size I would suggest a 34" bat length. 34" is the largest length Easton makes in this bat model. Usually, I see the Adult 35+ leagues use all Wood bats. I would check to make sure he can use a two-piece composite bat like this one before purchasing.
Brandon
I'm a freshman in high school, I weigh 150lbs and i am 5'11" . Which bat in the power brigade would be right for me? What size? Nick
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult bat would be a great option if you are a power hitter. The Extra-Long Barrel and slight End-Load adds power to your swing. I would suggest a length of 31", but you can go up to a 32".
Frank
I am 5' 9'' 135 lbs and a sophmore in High School. Last year I purchased the S1 and it felt too light, so halfway through i used my friends XL1. I started hitting for power and loved it. But which do i get for this year. NOTE last year i was 5 inches shorter 25 lbs less BigCrisp
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Thus, the XL1 would be recommended.
Tyler
I am a 7th grader who is 115 lbs. and 5' 4". I would like to know which Power Brigade bat is right for me. MJ
At 115 lbs. and 5' 4" I would recommend the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League bat in a 31" 23 oz. If you would like a -5, I would recommend the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X15 Senior League bat.
Doug F.
I'm 14, a freshman in high school and I'm 5'11" and weigh 155 pounds. I'm wondering if this is the right bat for me? Dhall
Yes, it is a great bat. I would get it in the 32 inch length. I think you will love it.
Chad M.
I am a 5'10" 145 lb. contact/power hitter. I am looking for a bat that isn't as light as the S1 but not super top heavy either. Is this bat the right bat for me, or would the TPX ExoGrid3 or Marucci Black 2 be better? emankcin
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult bat sounds like the right fit for you. It will have a slight end load compared to the S1. Yet, it is built the same. It will be a two-piece all composite bat. This would be a great choice for a contact and/or power guy.
Brandon
I'm a middle schooler and I need a bat for ball, would this be a good bat for me. I am 4 11 and a half so? Caydester13
The BB13X1 would be a good choice for a bat. This bat replaced he Easton Omen, which has been our best seller for the past few years because of it's pop and durability. It's a two piece full composite construction, that features a massive sweet spot.
Derek
Is it right for me? Nikki
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR is a perfect bat for power hitters so if you are a power hitter it would be right for you.
Noah
I'm 6 foot 165 lbs. and still deciding to get S1 or XL1. Last year I used XL 2012 model and I'm currently swinging the Omen and I loved them both....what is best for me S1 or XL1? Wally
If you have above average strength and swing speed, then the XL1 is recommended due to its endloaded design. If you have average or below average strength and swing speed, the S1 is recommended due to its balanced design.
Tyler
I'm a freshman in high school and I'm 5' 8'' and 140 lbs. I'm looking for power/pop. I'm not the strongest freshmen, but I'm not the weakest. I've hit the Omen and I liked the pop and the weight balance, but I'm wondering if I should go with the XL1 or the S1? scotty
If you are looking for a bat that will feel closest to the Omen you should choose the XL1. It is going to have the same end loaded feel as the Omen did.
Noah
No one at my school has this bat. Can Easton send a rep out with one or send a demo bat for us to try. I am sure there will be a lot of buyers if we can try one. dean
We don't have any Easton reps that can do that for us. Please fill free to call Easton at 888-259-1297.
Chad M.
What is the difference between the XL1 and the XL2 models? Twinsfan42
The Easton XL1 will be a two-piece composite bat and the XL2 is a two-piece bat as well, but it has a composite handle with an alloy barrel.
Noah
What if your not a power hitter, is this bat still good? matt
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult is a great bat weather you are a power hitter or not, but the XL1 is made for stronger power hitters so you may not be very successful with it if it is too heavy for you.
Noah
I am 160 pounds and 5' 10". Should I get the XL1 in a 31" 28 oz. or the 32" 29 oz.? pj
We recommend a 32" 29 oz. model of the 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1. For more sizing information, check out our Bat Coach tool: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Mac
My son is in 8th grade. He is currently he is using a XL1 -5 and is hitting fine with it, but at times he says that the bat feels a little heavy. For next season should we get the S1 or the XL1? dylan
Since the Easton XL1 feels heavy to him, I would recommend going with the 2013 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB13S1 Adult next season. It is the same bat, but it is the balanced version.
Marcus
What is the difference between this and the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR? Spadz
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult bat is a two-piece fully composite design and the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat is a two-piece design with an alloy barrel and composite handle. Here is a link for further comparison http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Aubrey
Which bat is better and has better pop? The XL1 or XL2? zhale
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 has similar performance and swing weight compared to the 2013 XL2. The XL1 will have slightly better durability and a different feel with its composite barrel versus the alloy barrel of the XL2.
Mac
How long will this bat take to break in? Spadz
For bats with composite barrels, like the 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1, we recommend 150-200 reps of soft-toss/tee work with real baseballs. Starting at 40% of your max effort, make sure to rotate the barrel 1/4" with each contact and work into full swings.
Mac
Is the Easton XL1 lighter than the other XL models since it is all composite? Patrick
No, the 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult will weigh the same as any other model that is manufactured at the same given weight.
Kevin
I am 6'1" and about 140 lbs. Which bat would be better for me: The Easton XL1 or the Easton S1? sam
For a player your size, I would recommend going with the 33" 30 oz. model of the 2013 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB13S1 Adult.
Marcus
What's the difference between the XL1 BBCOR and the XL2 BBCOR? What size do you think I should get? I'm 5'7" and 115 pounds? johnny balla
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult bat is a two-piece fully composite design and the 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X2 Adult bat is a two-piece hybrid with an alloy barrel and composite handle. Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" model.
Aubrey
What should I get? The XL1 or the S1? I'm 5'7" and 120 pounds. johhhh
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult bat is a great choice for the traditional power hitter. The S1 is a more popular choice for a contact/gap hitter, who prefers a balanced model.
Brandon
Currently, I have an Easton Omen bbcor in a 33" 30 oz. model. However, I have been looking to get another in a 32" 29 oz. model for faster pitching, but I cannot seem to find many Easton Omens online. Which bat out of the new Easton power brigade has the most similar shape as the Omen? AwesomeManDavey
The Easton Omen has been discontinued and replaced by the 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR.
Chad M.
Will the Easton Omen BBCOR still be BBCOR certified for the 2013 season, even though it has been discontinued? AwesomeManDavey
The Omen BBCOR would just need to have the BBCOR Certified .50 stamp to be deemed legal. The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult bat would be certified also.
Brandon
If I'm 5'0" does it matter if I get this bat? Or should I get a different bat? boom
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult is end loaded, so it is more for a power hitter. You height wouldn't be a factory, just you hitting ability.
Chad M.
I have the 2012 Easton XL2. I hit a lot of pop-ups. Could this mean that the Easton XL2 is too heavy and I need the Easton S2? Patrick
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult is end loaded and is more for a power hitter. If you are not constantly driving the ball then we would suggest moving into the Easton S1 or the Easton S2.
Chad M.

The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult will feel the same as the 2012 Easton XL1 BBCOR. The only difference is the graphics on the bats.

I am not a big power hitter but I always make solid contact whether it's a grounder or line-drive. Would you recommend the 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult or the 2013 S1 BBCOR Adult? bradbrad45
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult is end loaded. For a contact hitter, we'd recommend the more balanced 2013 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB13S1 Adult.
Katie
Can you feel a diffrence between the S1 and X1 in your swing, pop, power, etc.? cgagec
The 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult bat will have an extended barrel design and a more end loaded feel. You will definitely notice this when comparing to the Easton S1. The end load will help with power, if, you can control the bat and keep the bat speed up.
Brandon
I'm looking at the XL1 and the XL2, what material would hold its "pop" longest? The alloy barrel or the composite barrel? baseballplayer44
The 2013 Easton XL2 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult bat and its alloy barrel will be game ready from day one and slowly lose its pop over time. The composite barrel will break-in and continue to gain pop over time. I would go XL1.
Brandon
I'm a freshman and I am 5'8" 145 lbs. I'm one of the stronger guys and I am having trouble deciding between the Easton XL1 and Easton S1. Which bat would be the best and what size? jed21
A 33" model would be a good size for you. If you are more of a power hitter the Easton XL1 would be better because it is more end loaded. If you are more of a contact hitter the Easton S1 would be better because it is balanced.
Damon
When does the 2014 Easton bat line come out? comp
The 2014 Easton bats will be out in the fall of 2013.
Noah
I am about to start using BBCOR bats. I am not sure if I should go with this bat or the S1 for speed. I'm a 4th, 5th , or 6th hitter. Gonzo
If you are a stronger kid with more power than other players on the team the 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult would be great for you. If you are a little better at just making contact every time you're up the Easton S1 will be better for you.

What two-piece bat is best for power hitters with fast hands? The XL1, XL2, S1, or S2? sammy

The S1 and S2 models are very balanced and provide quicker bat speed to players that with average swing speeds. John
I'm looking for a 32 inch -3 baseball bat and its between the XL1 and the S1. I am 13 and going on my first year on the big field. I'm not a very big kid and probably won't ever be. So which of these bats should I get? Cole

I'm a Line Drive/Power Hitter. Should I get the XL1 or the XL3? Lights Out
Power hitters can effectively use either the 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB13X1 Adult or the XL3 BBCOR. The XL1 is a two-piece composite while the XL3 is a one-piece alloy. Both have slightly end loaded swing weights, but are different in design otherwise. I would reflect on the design of the bats you have successfully used in the past to help with the decision.

Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 33" bat. The Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB13X1) has an end loaded swing weight and is better for power hitters. If you are more of a contact hitter, the Easton S1 has a balanced swing weight and would be better.
