Description

New for The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The XL1 features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Chuck B

Pros: Hits hard. Huge Sweet Spot. Great Quality. Only thing you need to know, you have to be "Strong" to swing this bat due to being end loaded. If your kid is not a beast get the -10. The -8 is for kids who weight over 100 pounds and will not be pulled off balance by the end loaded feel.

Cons: None. Cracked my first one and Easton did send a replacement. Just took about 3 months. But we did get a replacement.

XL1 big barrel mikey player

Pros: Best pop in the market, lighter than it sounds, very necessary for power hitters. I hit 40 homeruns with the small barrel in 60 games last year. The grip is very comfortable too and has a great feel. The bat goes through a lot without slowing down. Very little to no vibration at all

Cons: none at all the bat is beautiful

Nick
What is the difference between the Composite Easton Omen and the 2013 Easton XL1 SL13X18. Witch one has more pop. Uker
The Easton XL1 and Easton S1 are part of the Power Brigade Series that replaced the Omen. The XL1 is more end-loaded for power and the S1 is more balanced for a line drive gap hitter. The XL1 and S1 will have as much pop if not more than the Omen.
Damon
Are there any design differences between this 2013 model vs. the 2012 model of this bat? Thank you. batter
The 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League bat will be mainly constructed the same as the 2012 model. They both will be Two-Piece, 100% IMX Composite Designs. They both will feature Easton's Extended Barrel Design with the Slightly Endloaded Swing Weight. The 2013 model will have a 400 Day Warranty through Easton rather than the 12 month Warranty on the 2012 XL1. The 2013 model with also feature the Black Carbon Composite Handle and Easton's Performance Diamond Grip.

Based on your size, a 30" model of the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League bat is recommended.
Tyler
Hello, I really like the -8 2013 Easton XL1 baseball bat. I am 5' 2" and about 100 lbs. I think the 31 inch bat is a good length for me, but do you think I should try a 32 inch when it comes back? Beersey
The 31" is the suggested length i would tell you to use, but if you feel like you might be successful with a 32" you could always try that.
Noah
Since this bat has an end-loaded feel, will it feel heavier than a -8 that has more of a balanced feel? harold
Yes. An end-loaded -8 bat will naturally feel a heavier than a well balanced -8 bat.
Tyler
What is the difference between the 2013 s1 and the 2013 xl1? which one has more pop? harold
The S1 is more balanced. The XL1 is endloaded. A player with above average strength and swing speed will see better pop with the XL1. A player with average or below average strength and swing speed will see better pop with the S1.
Tyler
What is the difference between the Easton 2013 S1 and the Easton 2013 XL1? Which one has more pop? harold
The 2013 Easton S1 is more balanced for a contact hitter, whereas the 2013 Easton XL1 is more end loaded for a power hitter.
Damon

No. They are the same.

My son LOVED the 2012 XL1 Youth bat last year but is now headed to a big barrell league. He swung a 31-21 last year, now trying to figure out the right size for him. He will be 13 in December, is about 5'2" and 100 pounds. Should he go with the 31-23 or the 32-24? JJ
Based on his height and weight we recommend the 31" 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League.
Kara
Hey, I currently swing 2013 demarini cf5 2 1/4 and like it alot. But I need to get a big barrel bat for aau. I am 5 foot 93 pounds and have a pretty fast swing speed. I swung a -8 omen and like it. Do you think this is a good bat for me or would an s1 be better? rydawg
If you have above average strength and swing speed, the XL1 would be recommended. If not, I would recommend the S1 as it will be more balanced.
Tyler
Does this bat come in a 30'' with a -8? PK
Yes, the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League bat is manufactured in a 30" 22 oz. model. We are currently out of stock in this size but it will be listed on the website when we receive more.
Aubrey

Tyler
Which barrel material is more likely to provide a larger sweet spot? Aluminum (XL2) or Carbon (XL1). epfatboy
The sweets pot will not be affected by the type of material. Both the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League and the 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 will have an extended barrel for a larger sweet spot.
Kara
My son has used the 2013 DeMarini CF5 30'' 22 oz. bat and felt comfortable with the length & weight. Would the 2013 XL1 30'' 22' oz. feel the same or would it be heavier and when would you have that size in stock? PK
The 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League bat is more end-loaded and will feel more heavy compared to the balanced DeMarini CF5. We currently have the 32" 22 oz. model in the Easton XL1.
Aubrey
Will there be a 31" model for this bat? Beersey
Yes, the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League bat is manufactured in a 31" model. We are currently out of stock on that size but expect more in about 2-3 weeks.

Aubrey
What is the difference in the drop 8 versus drop 5 versions of the XL bats. My son is 12 years old and is 5'6" and 106 pounds. Looking for his next transitional bat. What size do you recommend? Erik
Both of these models will be two-piece fully composite designs. The only difference is the weight of the models. The most common size for the season before high school would be a -5 bat. Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 31" model.
Aubrey
I'm a 5'3", 13 year old who usually bats in 1-2 in the order. I really like this bat and the pop, but do u think the 32" 24 oz. will be too big for me? Baller1234
Based on your age, we recommend a 31" 23 oz. model in the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League bat. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey

No. Because the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 is a big barrel composite bat, it is not legal for play in Pony.
Tyler
What is the difference between the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18, and the Easton XL1: SL13x15? Will
The 2013 Easton XL1: SL13x18 will be a -8 length to weight ration, and the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X15 will be a 15 length to weight ration.
Noah
Is this bat legal for play in 50/70 field for travel ball 12u baseball? Pete
In some leagues the 2013 Easton XL1 will be legal for play on a 50/70 field, but you would have to check with a local league official to find out if it is legal in your area.
Noah

Tyler

Both the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League bat and the 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 are two-piece fully composite designs. The S1 is a balanced swing weight and the XL1 has an extended barrel and more end loaded swing weight.
Aubrey
What is difference between sl13x18 and sl13x15 Rob
Both bats have similar construction, the difference is that the SL13X18 is a -8 bat and the SL13X15 is a -5 bat. Derek
Is it a big barrel? Do u have a 31" 20 oz.? I'm 13, and weigh 90 - 95 pounds. Dannyboy
Yes, the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League bat is a big barrel at 2 5/8". At the age of 13, the -8 or -5 would be recommended. This bat would be 31" 23 oz.
Brandon
Is the 2013 Easton XL 1: SL13X18 approved for Little League 50/70 play? Also when will the 32in. bat be available again? Parker
The 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 is a full composite youth big barrel bat. Thus, it is illegal in Little League. We don't have a firm ETA for the 32" models, but they should be here in approximately 2-4 weeks.
Tyler

We have live inventory and our website shows the sizes we have in stock and ready to ship. If you do not see your size listed, that means it is currently out of stock.
Tyler
Don't know which model to get my son. He's 11, 5' 130 lbs. XL1 or XL3, he's been using an Easton Rival and loves it. ready to play
The 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League bat would closely resemble the Rival. The XL1 will have the end loaded feel to the swing weight. It will be two-piece fully composite in design. I would stick with the XL1.
Brandon
I am 5' 4" and weigh 100 pounds, should I get the 32" or the 31"? coby

Kevin

Yes, the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp. This makes the bat legal for little league play.
Frank
My son is 5'8" 120 lbs. Currently swings a 31/21 Worth Legit. Likes the XL1. What's a good size...usual burns through a bat once a year? Jim
Based on his size, a 32" model of the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League bat is recommended.
Tyler
My son is 5 foot and 90 lbs should he go with this? lilrippa
The 2013 Easton Xl1 is end loaded. Which means there is weight added to the end of the barrel. It is for batter that hits more for power. If your son is more of a contact hitter I would go with the 2013 Easton S1.
Chad M.
How long does it take to break in? lilrippa
The 2013 Easton XL1 Senior League needs a break-in period of 150 to 200 hits of soft-toss or a tee. Start at about 40% of power and gradually increase as you get closer to the 150 swing mark. Rotate the bat a quarter of an inch between each hit to ensure an even break-in and always use real, leather baseballs.
Chad M.
How soon will you have this bat in a 32"? dave
We should be receiving more of the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League bats in a 32" in two to three weeks. Keep an eye on our website as well. Once we receive the 32" bats, we will post them up there.
Doug F.
At what temperature is it safe to use this bat in terms of not breaking it? JJ
The 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League bat has a two-piece, fully composite design. Using bats with composite barrels in temperatures below 55 degrees Fahrenheit increases the chances of damaging the bat.
Mac
I'm 5'4" and 122lbs. Would you recommend the XL Series or the Speed Series? sms325
It depends on whether you prefer to swing a more balanced bat, like the 2013 Easton S1: SL13S110 Senior League, or a more end loaded bat like the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League. For a player your size, I would recommend going with a 31" model.
Marcus
Would the bat work with a 10 year old which is 80 pounds and 4' 7" tall? luke
We suggest that you get the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League in the 29" 21 oz. model.
Chad M.

We suggest that the length of the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League be 30" long.

I'm debating between the 2013 DeMarini CF5 and the 2013 Easton XL1. I have a fast bat speed and can handle both equally with about the same swing speed. Which one has more pop? I was looking into the 31" 23 oz. I want to generate the most power possible. Redbull14
The 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League is end loaded and is more for a power hitter. If you power hitter then the Easton XL1 will generate the most pop.
Chad M.

Brandon
I am 11, 4' 9'', and 80 pounds. What size should I get? patrick
Based off of your size you should be using a 30" 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League.
Noah
I have the youth Easton XL1. Do you have any videos on how to clean this bat? line drive hitter
No, we do not have any videos on how to clean the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League. What you will need to do is Remove oils, dirt and grime from the surface of the composite bat with a clean, moist cloth. Use a simple cotton cloth or terry cloth. Mix soap with warm water and apply it to the surface of the bat with a clean rag or sponge. Add enough soap to achieve a sudsy mixture, adding too much will just create more bubbles. Use a bleach-free dish soap.
Noah
When does the Easton Mako come out? Rylan
The Easton Mako bats are scheduled to be released September 1, 2013.
Kara
Is it approved by Little League in the 13-14 division and All Stars tournaments? EastonandDemarini4Life
No, in Little League 13-14 the barrel cannot be composite unless it is BBCOR certified.
Noah
I have heard this bat is very end loaded. I'm kinda small (5' 80 lbs.). I do have pretty good bat speed, but do you think I will be able to swing this bat? person
The 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League is an end loaded bat, so it is hard for small players to get it around as fast, but if you have fast bat speed it shouldn't be a problem for you.
Noah
I am 12 years old 5'5" and 180lb. I have recently used an Easton S1 31"/18oz and hit 5 homeruns last season. Should I use a bat from this XL series to maximize my power? Tbeast

Ryan
Will the 2014 XL1 -8 be the same as 2013's model, or change to the new composite in the Mako? Will the Mako come in a -8? Stog

Kara
I'm 5' 5" and 105 pounds. Is this bat too big? Pat
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" bat. The 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League bat features a slight end load that is typically best-used by a power hitter. The length to weight ratio of the bat you choose is more dependent on your strength.
Mac
Will the Easton MAKO have a 2 5/8" barrel? jack
The only 2 5/8" barrel MAKO will be the BBCOR version. The Senior League model has a 2 3/4" barrel. There will be a 2014 version of the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League.
Kara
Is the Easton XL1 or the DeMarini CF5 Senior League bat better as an drop 8? baseball
The 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League is an end loaded bat and better for a player with power. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 Is a more balanced bat and better for a contact hitter. Both have excellent pop.
Kara
Do you have this bat in 31/21 big barrel? Aaron
The XL1 models with 2 5/8" barrel diameters are only produced in two length to weight ratios: -8 and -5. This 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League bat is the -8 model. The -10 model of the XL1 is the Youth bat with a 2 1/4" barrel diameter.
Mac
Is the Easton XL1 or the DeMarini CF5 Senior League better overall? mmmm
The 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League and the 2013 DeMarini CF5 use top of the line composite materials and will be high performing. The 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League has an extended barrel and is slightly end loaded. It is best for a power hitter.

Do you have to break this bat in? If so, how? josh
Yes, the Easton XL1 will require a break in period. We recommend 150-200 swings off the tee or soft toss. Make sure you rotate the barrel of the bat a quarter of an inch every 15 swings to help break in the composite fibers.

A two-piece, end loaded bat such as the 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League is best suited for a contact hitter with some power.
