Xl3 is a great bat Brett player

Pros: Great swing weight and feel to the bat! It is not extremely end loaded, but has enough barrel weight to where it is comfortable to swing. Has a nice stiff feel. The ping to the bat tells it all, when you hear it you know that's the sound of a base hit. The grip is the kind every player likes, tacky and easily gripped. That bat is one of the most well designed aluminum bats I have seen. Very long with a huge barrel. My favorite drop 5 bat. Great year around bat for all weather. Ball blasts off barrel. Drops bombs!

Cons: Grip is not that durable, easily dirtied and wears down slightly. Barrel is huge, but not as big as the 2015 xl1 Hasn't showed me the carry of the ball I expected, but carries farther than most drop 5 senior league bats.

Very good bat SM parent

Pros: My 13U son just moved to this bat after swinging an XL1 -8 for more than a year. He loves his new bat. Although it has an end load, he says it feels pretty balanced in the swing. The weight difference is hardly noticeable and hasn't impacted his bat speed at all. He's able to square up nicely. I like the solid, not-too-high-pitched ping of this bat compared to others. It sounds like a big solid stick.

Cons: Others have noted the vibration, but my son finds it to be no real issue.

My son loves this bat! Alex parent

Pros: We switched to the Easton Xl3 bat after moving on from drop 8. My 12 year old loves this bat because it gives him the bat speed with a slightly end-loaded feel for added power. I will tell you that this bat would be best for for kids that are a little stronger to take advantage of the end loaded power with increased bat speed and better bat control. This bat has tremendous pop and the ultra-thin handle allows the user to create more wrist torque and improve control to launch the balls further. My 12 year old has launched homers in his games over 300 feet regularly with this bat.

Cons: Like most bats, over time, the paint starts chipping off on tiny areas of the bat, but I think its expected considering my son uses it all the time....

Pop, Whip, and Power transfer. Scot Dew parent

Pros: Good power hitters bat. Plenty of whip, nice pop, good hand feel. The thin handle encourages bat speed from my son.

Cons: Vibration on jam shots and off the end is pretty annoying. I guess if my son just barrels it up better there would be no issues.

Buy this bat if your son is a power hitter Proud momma parent

Pros: Lots of pop, end loaded, very durable. My son is about 5' 150lbs and 13 y/o. Bought this bat as a surprise about 6 mos ago after reading the reviews. Took him a little getting used to mostly because of the difference in wt. He was going from a -9 to -5. But once he got used to the difference in wt, he has been slamming the ball over the outfielder's heads. Has all the dad's talking about him in the bleachers. His words, "Mom, I love my bat!" Takes a lot to get a compliment out of a13 year old. Buy the bat!

Absolute bomb dropper JL Parent

Pros: My son hit a growth spurt and found his 31" -10 bats to be too light. I picked this up used but it was still in great shape. Paint nicks and smudges, no big deal...no dents and a new lizard grip made it ready to use. He immediately started absolutely crushing balls everywhere. There was the occasional mishit that made him ring out his hands but he never complained. He liked that feedback that told him he made a mistake. This bat is supposed to be end-weighted but it feels more balanced than that. It is very easy to swing for a big kid (11 yr old - 5'7" 145lbs).

Cons: The end cap cracked and a chunk flew off after being hit with a pitch. I was able to replace the end cap pretty easily and the bat is back to working order again. Prior to that, my son requested I find another because he had such a high degree of confidence in his 'Orange Justice'.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat: SL15X35? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I noticed that the description says that this bat is end-loaded. Can you give me additional information about this point? Is it like the old DeMarinis' that had all of the weight in the end? Keith
Yes, the 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat: (SL15X35) will incorporate a slight end-load. Therefore, it means it will have added weight towards the end of the barrel. DeMarini has also created models with a similar weight distribution as well (more top heavy). Generally, an end-load tends to be a feature preferred by power hitters.
Merritt
Is this a good bat? Where are the reviews from previous customers? jackie
The **PRE-BOOK** 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) is a brand new bat. It has not hit the market yet. That is why there are no reviews. It should have the same swing feel and performance as the 2014 version.
Brandon
I am 13, 5'10 and weigh 175 pounds what size bat do you recommend. Also, would you recommend this bat or one of the new 2015 DeMarini bats(I am a power hitter). Arob
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35). Since you are a power hitter, the XL3 is an excellent choice, due to the end loaded swing weight as well as the one-piece design. Of the new DeMarini bats, the model that features an end loaded swing weight, is the OVERLORD. The OVERLORD features a two-piece design, with a composite handle and alloy barrel. Both are high performance models to choose from, it will truly depend on your preference of a one-piece or a two-piece bat.
Tessa
Does this bat have the USSSA 1.15 stamp on it? Arob
Yes, the 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) features the 1.15 BPF stamp on it. Here is a link to a picture of it: http://images.justbats.com/images/products/item-ea15-21224-4l.jpg
Tessa
What is the difference between the 2014 and 2015? ag
The biggest difference between the 2014 and 2105 Easton XL3 is going to be that the 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat: (SL15X35) incorporates a new type of alloy called HyperLite Matrix Alloy. This material is designed to increase pop, durability, and help take player performance to the next level.
Merritt
Will the 2015 XL3 have similar pop to the 2015 XL1? noahnator
The 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat: (SL15X35) incorporates a different type of material called HyperLite Alloy. Alloy material is very hot out of the wrapper and does not require a break-in. However, the composite material used in the XL1 will require a break-in. Once broken in, this material will be able to produce significant power as well, and will continually increase in performance over its lifetime.
Merritt
Are they going to make the XL3 in a BBCOR version? mike
At this time, the 2015 Easton XL3 BBCOR has not been released. We are unsure as to when or if Easton is producing this model.
Brandon
Are they going to make the XL3 in BBCOR? mike
The 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) will not be made in a BBCOR this year. The 2015 Easton S3Z ZCORE Baseball Bat (BB15S3Z) has replaced the S3 and XL3. The S3Z has an extended barrel like the 2014 XL3 and has a balanced swing weight like the 2014 S3.
Jason
Does this require a break-in period? tanner
No. The 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) has an alloy barrel that will not need to be broken in.
Patrick
How end loaded is this model compared to previous models and the new xl1? Brett pitzer
The 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) is going to have an extremely similar end loaded feel as previous models and the Easton XL1.
Tom
I am 5'7" and 130 lbs. What size should I get in this bat? Since it is end loaded should I get a smaller size or stick to my recommended size? Brett
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" model in the 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35). If you already have good bat speed, then you should plan on sticking with the suggested 32" model. If you are looking to increase your bat speed, then you should consider stepping down to a 31" model.
Jason
I'm 11yoa, 5'3, 130 and currently swing the 2014 XL3 30/21 with no trouble at all. I want to get closer to a drop 3 to get ready for MS ball, what size should I get? Luke
Since you still have 3-4 seasons of baseball before you go into high school, I would recommend going with a -8 model before moving all the way up to the 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35). The XL3 is not actually made in a -8 swing weight so I would recommend looking at the 2014 Easton XL1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X18) or the 2015 Easton XL1 Senior League -8 Baseball Bat (SL15X18). These bats are both made in a -8 model.
Ben
In your opinion which bat is more durable; 2015 Easton XL3 or 2015 DeMarini Voodoo? Tyler
The 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) uses hyperlite alloy which has significantly improved its durability; whereas, the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVD5) uses X12 alloy, which creates more power. Based on durability alone, I would suggest going with the XL3 versus the VooDoo OVERLORD.
Liz
My 14 year old is a power hitter who has used a 2-piece composite DiMarini the past few seasons. Will end-loaded increase his home runs? He has very strong hands and maybe didn't need a more balanced bat? Is this s 2-piece bat. Dad
The 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) is an end loaded bat that is a THT100 1-peice full alloy. I think an end loaded bat will be great for your son who is a power hitter.
Frankie
I am 13 years old, 5'4" and a contact hitter. Would this be the right bat for me? What bat would you recommend for me? hayden
The 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) could be used at your size and age. Also, the 2015 DeMarini Vexxum Senior League -5 would swing even more balanced. It would be a great choice too!
Brandon
My 13 year old son is not big, but he is strong. He can handle a balanced -3 BBCOR bat, which is required for school ball, pretty well. I am considering this -5 USSSA stamped bat for summer ball because of the relaxed standards. I am trying to determine if this bat, with its slight end-load, would be better than a -5 bat that is balanced? H-man.217
If he can use a -3 BBCOR model and is able to swing it well, going with an end-loaded -5 like the 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) would be a good option. The end-loaded weight will help produce more power and the heavier feel will keep him used to a feel closer to what that -3 is like during school ball.
Patrick
Hi, I am 14 years old. I am not very strong. Would this bat be right for me? I have a drop ten. The size is 32/22. It is really light. Dmoney
The 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) will be more of an end loaded bat. If you need a BBCOR bat at your age the Easton S3Z ZCORE BBCOR would be perfect. It is very light and balanced. If you are looking for a balanced -5 size bat, the Easton MAKO TORQ would be awesome!
Brandon
My son is 14 and weighs 80.4 pounds and he is not very strong. He is very tall and he swings a 32 inch 22 ounce bat. Would this be the right bat? Cash money
The 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) would be a nice option for a player of that age. It would be a good bat to use to help transition toward a BBCOR certified model for high school play.
Patrick
Would you recommend the Easton XL3 -5 or the Easton XL1 -5? Snake
Both the 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) is going to be an alloy bat and the 2015 Easton XL1 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X15) is going to be a composite bat. Neither material has been proven to out perform the other, so it is just personal preference.
Frankie
What is the difference between the -9 and the drop -9? Other than weight tb
-9 and drop -9 are the same thing. It would be the length to weight ratio which is found by taking the number of inches the bat is in length and subtracting the number of ounces it weighs. The difference would be the drop weight or length to weight ratio which is represented by the minus sign and a number. The 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) is a -5 meaning that a 30 inch model of this bat would weigh 25 ounces, for example.
Patrick
If I play 13U travel ball and swing a 32 inch 22 ounce bat but I am 5 foot 5 and 157 pounds would the XL series be right for me or should I go to the S series? bubba
Whether you should go with an XL model like the 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) or a model in the S or Speed Series would be based on what feel you prefer. The XL3 would have an end-loaded feel making it a bit tougher to swing but possibly producing more power if you are able to swing it with good bat speed. The S Series will be more balanced and allow for better bat speed due to a lighter swing weight. Both are nice options.
Patrick
What is the difference between this model and last year's model? TZ
The difference between the Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X35) and the Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X35) would be the alloy material used in the construction. The Hyperlite Matrix Alloy is an upgrade from the previous model year in terms of durability and the maximum size of the sweet spot.
Patrick
Did they make this bat in BBCOR? mike
Easton did not make a BBCOR .50 certified version of this 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35).
Ben
Is this bat allowed to play in Junior/Senior League International baseball? baseballplayer29
The 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) will be legal since it has a BPF 1.15 USSSA stamp.
Allison

the 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) is a one-piece all alloy. The Easton XL1 Senior League features a two-piece full composite design. The XL and XL1 Senior League models both feature the big barrel.
John

My son turned 13 in July. He is 4' 11" and weighs 85 lbs. He will be playing Middle School baseball in the spring. Bat requirement for this league is a drop 5. He is a contact hitter. Would the 30"/25oz Easton XL3 benefit him more than the XL1? Rodney
For someone with your son's height and weight, I would recommend using a 30" baseball bat. The 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat: SL15X35 and the 2015 Easton XL1 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat: SL15X15 are both an end loaded model which tends to be more suited for power hitters. If you're looking for a more balanced bat for a contact hitter I would recommend looking at the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15MK5T. This bat is highly rated and does come in a 30", -5 model. I have included a link to the bat for you. http://www.justbats.com/product/2015-easton-mako-torq-senior-league-baseball-bat--sl15mk5t/21214/?pa_source=justbats&pa_campaign=was&pa_medium=badges&pa_content=2015-easton-mako-torq-senior-league-baseball-bat--sl15mk5t

is this bat heavey im getting the -9 version and is that one heavey and what is the diffrence bettwen this and the s2 2016 wich are the diffrences chino
The 2015 Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35), when compared to the 2016 Easton S2 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL16S210), is going to feel heavier as it is an end-loaded swing-weight. The S2 will be a two-piece balanced designed bat with a black carbon composite handle with an alloy barrel; the XL3 will be a one-piece, fully alloy construction with an extended barrel.
Cameron

John P.

Cameron
My son is 5"5" 150 lbs. He is 12.5 years old and a 7th grader on his MS team. Should I go with the 32" for use this year and next? Jbo52
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of going with a 32" option of the Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35). As long as he can handle the end-loaded 27 oz weight, I think that size option of this bat would work just fine for you guys for the next couple of years before moving to BBCOR bats.
Ben
My son is 5 ft and weighs 100 lbs. What do you recommend? baseball22
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would recommend going with a Youth Big Barrel/Senior League bat in the 30" length. This Easton XL3 Senior League -5 Baseball Bat (SL15X35) will only be available in a 32"/27 oz size which is a little larger than what I would recommend for your player. I might suggest something more in the size of 30"/25 oz or 31"/26 oz size.

My son is 5'5" 121 lbs and 12 years old. What size bat does he need? My other son is 4' 60 lbs and is 9 years old, what size bat for him? bats
