Description

New for The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The XL3 features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Great balance. Bigger sweet spot from what I can tell. Like the sound when the ball makes contact. For the price I would recommend to all. I'm 13 and looking forward to the next two years with it.

Cons: Wish the grip matched the color of the bat.

Pros: Bought this bat for my son, age 12. Was initially concerned that he couldn't swing a -5 bat, but so far he has mastered the timing and we are both amazed at the bat's response. It has a fat sweet spot and has head weight which forces an inflection point in the swing. He is hitting deep left with it. Its a well made bat that requires no 'breaking in' as do composites. I would recommend this bat.

Cons: None.

Pros: I am absolutely in love with this bat. When I get a hold of the ball with this bat, the ball is the only thing that feels anything. It flies off the bat and you don't feel a thing. This bat is the best I've bought so far.

Cons: I'm gonna go on record and say the reason I already have a rattle is because I hit so hard. But if that's untrue, then the bat's a little fragile.

Pros: Great bat. The sound is great, it has a good amount of pop, it's really light, the grip is good and maintains good condition, and it also has a big sweet spot. I hit a homerun on a 340 ft field. Since then i have been in love with this bat

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL13X35? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this bat top heavy like the 2012 models or are these bats more balanced? Jbird
The Easton XL series is end loaded and designed for a power hitter. If you are looking for the balanced version the Easton S series is balanced for contact/line drive hitters.
Damon
Is it a good bat? leo
The 2013 Easton XL3 is a great bat. The XL3 is a very high performing bat with a ton of pop. It is also a very durable bat.
Nick
Does this bat dent? eastonboy1324
The 2013 Easton XL3 uses a high quality alloy and is a very durable bat. We have not heard of any problems with the XL3.
Nick
They say the speed edition is made for faster swing speeds but this bat the XL is a drop 5 so how is the other s4 faster? david
The S Series has a lighter swing weight for players with average or below average swing speed looking for a little help in increasing their swing speed. The XL Series is endloaded for player who already have good swing speed looking to add more inertia and power. The S4 has a 2 1/2" barrel and will offer a much lighter swing weight than the XL3.
Tyler
What is better for a hitter with some power? This or the XL1? whats better
Both the 2013 Easton XL3 and the Easton XL1 are great bats for a hitter with some power. The XL1 is a two-piece bat that is fully composite and the XL3 is a one-piece bat that is fully alloy. The XL3 will be stiffer swinging and the XL1 will have some flex to it.
Nick
Does this bat feel like the 2011 Vexxum -5? Thanks Jbird
The 2013 Easton XL3: SL13X35 and the 2011 Vexxum are both end loaded. However, the Easton XL3 will be more stiff because it is a one-piece bat.
Kara
When will this bat be available? bob
The new Easton bats will be released on November 15, 2012.
Jeff
Which bat would you recommend the Marruci Black 2 or the Easton XL3? jim
Both are great bats. The Marucci Black 2 is a two-piece bat with a composite handle. The Black will be a more balanced bat for a contact hitter. The Easton XL3 is a one-piece alloy and will be more end loaded for a power hitter.
Damon
Is the XL3 2012 better than this bat? chadychad
There were no changes made to the Easton XL3 2012 model and the 2013 Easton XL3: SL13X35.
Kara
What is new with the 2013 yellow version of the XL3 aluminum bat versus last year's model? Sam
There were no changes made from the 2012 model to the 2013 Easton XL3: SL13X35 Senior League bat.
Aubrey
Would you reccomend the Marucci Cat 5 Prebcor -5 or this bat? giegs
Both bats are great performing bats. You should go with the Easton XL3 if you are more of a power hitter, but if you are more of a contact hitter the more balanced Marucci Cat 5 will be better for you.
Noah
Is it a big barrel? Kurt
Yes. The 2013 Easton XL3: SL13X35 has a 2 5/8 Inch Barrel Diameter. Any time you see "Senior League" in the bat's name, that indicates it's a big barrel bat.
Tyler
Will you be selling this bat in a 32" 27 oz? Doug
Yes, when we receive more 2013 Easton XL3: SL13X35 Senior League bats in the 32" 27 oz. model they will be listed on the website.

Tyler
Is there any Easton S-series in a -5 ? I'm looking for a balanced bat to transition to a -3 Joe
No, there is not an Easton S-Series bat in a -5. The 2013 Easton XL3: SL13X35 Senior League bat is a very popular -5 model. This bat will be a one-piece alloy bat. It will feel slightly end loaded. Power hitters typically like the feel of the end load. The most popular -5 on our site is the Marucci Black: MSB115 Senior League bat. It will be a two-piece hybrid bat. It will have a composite handle and an alloy barrel. It will also feature a longer barrel with an increased sweet spot.
Brandon
What's the difference between composite and scandium? BravesBaseball
The Scandium on the 2013 Easton XL3: SL13X35 Senior League bat is a type of alloy. This entire bat is a one-piece all alloy model. Scandium typically will hold up better than a regular more basic alloy. This bat is game ready from day one. Composite barrel bats will need to have the composite fibers on the barrel broken-in before it is ready for game use. Once broken-in you will start to see high performing results. The Scandium alloy on this bat will provide solid durability and allow for a larger sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field.
Brandon
What is performance difference between Easton SL13X35 and SL13RX5? coachk
The 2013 Easton XL3: SL13X35 Senior League is going to be a higher performing bat than the 2013 Easton Reflex: SL13RX5 Senior League, and the Easton XL3 is also going to be more durable.
Noah
What are the difference between a bat with a composite handle and aluminum barrel, versus an all aluminum bat? That is, what benefits does the composite handle provide? Mike
A two-piece bat compared to a one-piece will be that the two-piece will cut down on the stinging of your hands as well as it will add flex to your swing. A one-piece bat can feel a lot stiffer. The composite handle will soften the vibration compared to Alloy.
Chad M.
Can I use this bat in the Junior Division in Little League? Jay
The 2013 Easton XL3 is legal for play in the Juniors Division in Little League.
Derek
Is this approved for 14U Babe Ruth? Lem
The 2013 Easton XL3: SL13X35 Senior League is approved for 14U Babe Ruth.

I'm a power hitter. Is this bat for me? andrew

Mac
What is the normal break-in time for the XL3: SL13X35? teamdad

Kara

The 2013 Easton XL3: SL13X35 Senior League and 2014 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVD5 Senior League are very comparable in swing weight, but are very end loaded.

Mac
Does the Easton XL3 Senior League big barrel bat come in a 31 drop 8 size? Nails

Noah
Would this bat be good from transitioning from a drop 10? My son is 5ft 115lbs and 13years old want to get him use to drop for future any other suggestions. cal
Yes, we recommend moving up in weight at the age of 13. I would either look at a -5 or a -8 depending on how the player can control the bat. Personally, I think he is ready for a -5. He will notice the difference in weight and may take a little bit of time to adjust. It is better to slowly transition now instead of making a large jump from a -10 to a -3 once he begins High School.
John

Due to BBCOR requirements, would a -5 Senior League XL1 have more trampoline effect than a -3 BBCOR XL1? edgar
Yes, there would be more pop off of a Senior League bat. BBCOR bats are designed to be close to wood bats, so USSSA bats will offer more of a trampoline effect.
Tori
Which is more end loaded, the Easton XL3 or the DeMarini Voodoo? DC Baseball Dad
The 2013 Easton XL3 (SL13X35) and the DeMarini Voodoo both feature a slight end load so the swing weights will feel comparable. The Easton XL3 will be stiffer swinging since it is a one-piece bat that is fully alloy compared to the DeMarini Voodoo, which is a two-piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The Voodoo will have more flex to it when it is swung.

Which is better this or the 2014 Easton XL3? idropbombs
The 2013 Easton XL3 (SL13X35) Senior League and the 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) Senior League bats will be very similar in design and performance. Both model years are constructed with Easton's THT100 Scandium Alloy and both feature the same slightly end loaded feel. The most noticeable difference between the two would be the paint scheme change.
