***If within 30 days of the purchase the consumer is not completely satisfied with the performance of their TRU3 Bat, they are able to return it to the retailer from which the purchase was made or directly to Louisville Slugger for a full refund of the documented retail price paid.***. Put some more spring in your swing this season with the new Louisville Slugger TPS LXT! Re-engineered from the breakthrough Xeno bat, the LXT is designed to provide more pop and an even better feel when you swing! The LXT features a new three-piece design within the taper that debuts Louisville Slugger's new Tru3 Technology. This revolutionary new transition technology strengthens the link between the barrel and handle to give the LXT a trampoline spring and dramatically reduced vibration on contact. This straighter, thicker rubber ring results in a bat that is not only sturdier, but feels better with every swing. Vibration from mishits are absorbed before they reach the player's hands, allowing players to be more consistent with their hitting. Like the Xeno, the LXT features S1iD Technology, except that the Xeno's aluminum inner disc has been upgraded to a composite one for the LXT. This allows for a flexible, more forgiving barrel, a larger sweet spot, and a cleaner sounding pop with every hit. Made from Louisville Slugger's thinner, high-strength, and lightweight Pure 360 Composite, the LXT is ready to take the fastpitch softball world by storm! Louisville Slugger: In a Class Above Any Other! The LXT is approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

LXT vs Xeno b jefcoat coach

Pros: Looks good. No real way to rate durability, so I will give it 5 stars for the benefit of the doubt.

Cons: Bought the LXT and the 2014 Xeno to replace a 2012 Xeno. My daughter went to batting practice with the LXT. I noticed no difference in the LXT and the '12 Xeno, she hit with both and I decided to hit a few fly balls to the outfield with both bats. Sad to say but the '12 Xeno seemed to have a little more pop behind it after 1,000's of balls than the LXT. Nervous about opening the '14 Xeno since there was no 30 day promise, we went ahead and did so. Great decision, it had the pop, looks, and feel we were expecting. Welcome home Xeno. Sorry LXT, your headed back to where you came from. Since both bats did not have any reviews I really attempted to be open minded in my personal evaluation of the 2 new bats and the '12 Xeno.

Great Bat D.Carver coach

Pros: Lots of pop, looks great, it did not break after a week. We received this bat about a month ago as a One-X replacement. It was hot right out of the box. My 14U daughter was swinging a 2013 Xeno and loved it, but this is her new favorite bat. She has never hit the ball further than she does with this bat. I have hit fly balls with it and I noticed a 20+ feet difference hitting one handed. No vibration or sting and a great balanced feel.

Cons: None.

Love it, BUT. Paul parent

Pros: My 14u DD Loves this bat, it has a nice feel and she is comfortable swinging it without needing batting gloves. Hit her first over the fence HR with this bat and leads her team in doubles.

Cons: She swings hard but the inside of the bat has broken after only two months. LS is replacing it so I hope it was just an anomaly, it was pretty chilly the morning it broke...

Awesome Bat, its a Step up from the Zeno! Paige player

Pros: Excellent pop right out of the Wrapper!!! Definitely a step up from my Xeno! I loved my Xeno, but wow the ball flies off of this LXT!!! Also I get zero sting with mishits with this new LXT bat. Absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the feel of the LXT.

Cons: Boring color... But my bat is a tool, not a fashion statement... so as long as it keeps crushing the ball, I don't care that it's a boring color.

Great bat, great pop, great graphics! Little Angels Softball coach

Pros: Bat is very well-balanced. Swings light but delivers outstanding pop and great exit speeds. Large sweet spot means lots of big hits, with our girls consistently smoking the ball over all areas of the plate. This bat has a very smooth feel and a Cadillac ride ... absolutely no sting on mis-hits. This gives the girls confidence. Stiff enough handle for a power hitter but with a flexible enough barrel that younger, smaller girls can be extremely effective with it. Sounds pretty cool, too!

Cons: None yet. While previous LS bats (notably the Xeno and OneX) have had durability problems, our LXT has not so I can't ding it for the issues of previous models.

Pros: Used this for two tourneys and the pop is insane! Daughter took tourney MVP! In the hands of a quality hitter takes the field away from the fielders. She got out twice all weekend on two line drives to center. She tried her friends Mako too and says there is no comparison

Great bat for the competative player Will Smothers parent

Pros: I have a daughter who is 12 and plays on a 14U tournament team. I have been watching tournaments for the past several months debating whether we should trade up her 2013 DeMarini CF5 or not. I had researched enough to know that I wanted to look at the Xeno, the LXT or the Mako. What I observed was that hitters using the Xeno and LXT had much better results than hitters using the Mako. This narrowed down the search for me. A number of our players SWEAR by the Xeno and will not even think of hitting with anything else. After debating it in my head, I decided the $50 difference in price between the Xeno and LXT was not that big a deal since the LXT also had a 30-day return policy. I pulled the trigger and bought the LXT and I am very glad that I did. My 12-year old is consistently hitting line drives to the deep outfield with this bat. Before with her DeMarini she was hitting them to the edge or the infield or to shallow outfield. She is 5'4" and weighs 109 Lbs. GREAT BAT!

Cons: The color options.

Pros: No vibration, confident contact report from sweet spot when hitting the ball. 30 Day promise. This is huge in the bat world with the prices.

Cons: No pop! This bat did not have the pop expected or reported. The end cap is starting to come lose after only 75 hits. My daughter is an High School/18u player, 5-04, 165 lbs. She wanted to try a more balanced bat for the summer season. This bat is a dissapointment and doesn't live up to the hype or price. She will be staying with the CF5 Insane for the time being.

Cons: NO POP! This bat did not live up to the hype or the claims. After 75 hits the end cap started to come off. This bat doesn't have the pop expected and it will be going back. My daughter (5-04/165) is an 18u/HS starter and wanted to try a bat without end load and slightly shorter/lighter (33/23). Very disappointed in this bat. Pros: Bought in August 2013...Had good pop out of the wrapper and did get a little better until it broke.

Cons: It broke on our Florida trip in March. Bat was used sparingly during BP and never with cage balls. Returned to TPS and got a speedy return. Warranty Return bat was absolute garbage. So much so, that I gave it to my roommate. I will never buy TPS again.

Pros: The bat felt great and was well balanced. the pop started off great and had a large sweet spot for the first few weeks. there was no sting unless the ball was hit off the handle.

Cons: The pop died out quickly and the cap loosened up. after my 20 game high school season there was no pop for my travel season. LVS warrantied it quickly but the replacement had no life. the bat was not worth the money. going back to a Demarini...might try an Anderson.

Don't waste your money Softball Dad parent

Pros: Bat was great for about 13 innings and on tourney

Cons: Great Bat for about 15 minutes ...1st bat lasted about a week and began having the famous LS death rattle.. LS agreed to warranty replace it, and sent a "new one" which I'm guessing was a refurb because it already had the same rattle as her returned bat and obviously had a rebuffed paint job, could still clearly see prior use... The bat still seems to perform ok though no way to tell for sure if she losing any performance but for the 350 SRP it's a major disappointment. LS will never get a single dollar from me again...bad quality worse response!!!!

Do Not Buy a Louisville Slugger Bat!!!!!!!!!! Thomas coach

Pros: Hit well out of box. Good sweet spot. Well balanced.

Cons: Bought this bat in Dec '13. Never hit cage balls only live pitching or soft toss. Started hearing the rattle about a year and since then the bat has lost it's pop and the joint has only gotten worse. Every ASA tournament her bat along with almost every other LXT gets pulled. I called Louisville Slugger and they told me since it was out of the one year warranty there is nothing they could do for me. I guess the days of trying to build customers for life they will just let you go and buy products from someone else, which is exactly what I am going to do. They have lost my business for good and anyone I talk to I will be telling them the same story. There is no way that LS didn't know about design flaws with this bat. Especially when the new and improved model came out the following year. Guess the bat was only designed to last a year and then you buy a new one.

What are the three parts of the bat that are composite? What are the benefits of a three part composite bat? KK & T-Galv
Most bats are either one-piece or two-piece in design. The 2014 Louisville Slugger LXT is a fully composite model. This design helps increase the potential performance for the bat, and dramatically decreases vibration.

Based on your height and weight, our Bat Coach tool recommends a 33" bat. It's harder for us to recommend what weight you should use, but increasing the weight by an ounce in a season is a very manageable jump.

What is the difference between the 2014 LXT and the XENO? Are they designed for different style of hitters? Tom
The 2014 Louisville Slugger LXT: FPLX14-RR Fastpitch is a three-piece design, while the 2014 Louisville Slugger Xeno: FPXN14-RR Fastpitch is a two-piece design. The LXT's patented TRU3 three-piece technology is intended to reduce vibration and send it back up into the barrel for optimized energy transfer and a smooth feel on contact. The TRU3 Technology on the LXT is backed by a 30-day Performance Promise. Both are well-balanced models that benefit both contact and power hitters.
Katie
What bat would you recommend for a slapper, the 2014 LXT or the Xeno 2014? Softballbnm
The 2014 Louisville Slugger LXT: FPLX14-RR Fastpitch and 2014 Louisville Slugger Xeno: FPXN14-RR Fastpitch are both great choices for a slapper, as they're well-balanced and will be easy to control. The benefit of the LXT is the TRU3 Technology that it features, which is a three-piece design that will reduce vibration in the hands by sending it back up into the barrel for a smoother feel on contact. A short-game slapper will do well with the two-piece Xeno. For a player who occasionally hits from the left side or slaps for power, the LXT would be a great choice, as the benefits of the TRU3 Technology will be enhanced on a more powerful swing. The LXT is backed by a 30-day Performance Promise, so it can be returned for a full refund or exchange if you are not satisfied with the performance.
Katie
Is there a break in period for this bat or are they suppose to be hot out of wrapper? Tony123
The 2014 Louisville Slugger LXT: FPLX14-RR Fastpitch will require a break-in period.
Tori
Is this bat ASA approved? Abby
Yes, the 2014 Lousiville Slugger LXT FPLX14-RR) is ASA approved.
Tessa L.
How do you break-in a bat? Kim
The best way to break-in a composite bat, like the 2014 Louisville Slugger LXT (FPLX14-RR) Fastpitch, is to take 150-200 swings off a tee while rotating the barrel. For more information on breaking in bats check out our break-in guide http://www.justbats.com/blog/index.php/3789/breaking-in-your-composite-baseball-bat/
Jason
My daughter's LXT cracked last night. How are they in regards to their warranty? KT's Dad
The 2014 Louisville Slugger LXT (FPLX14-RR) features a full 12 month manufacturer's warranty through Louisville Slugger. The replacement of the bat would go directly through Louisville Slugger.
Patrick
My daughter is 16, 5'9" 165 lbs. Doesn't have great bat speed so relies more on timing, but very strong. What length and weight would you recommend? Xeno or LXT? Wick
Based on her height and weight, our Bat Coach recommends a 34" 2014 Louisville Slugger LXT Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPLX14-RR). Sizing is preferential though, so if she would feel more comfortable going with a 33", that is something to take into consideration as well. Based on how you described her style, the LXT may be better suited for her. Since it features a three-piece design, it will provide for more flex on contact. The additional flex can cause a whip-like action that helps the head of the bat whip forward at the moment of contact, generating more inertia and power. The Xeno is a great option as well, however, the two-piece design will not provide the same amount of flex the LXT can.
Tessa
What are the differences between the 2014 and the 2015 LXT? DKM
The 2014 Louisville Slugger LXT Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPLX14-RR) and the 2015 LXT are identical bats. The only difference is the cosmetic appearance.
Jason
Is this bat better than the DeMarini cf7 -10 bat? julia
The 2014 Louisville Slugger LXT Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPLX14-RR) and the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Fastpitch Softball Bat (DXCFP) are both nice models and would compare very closely in terms of overall design and performance. Preference between the two would come down to which brand you prefer. They are both top of the line models.
Patrick
I'm trying to decide between a -9 and a -10 LXT 2014. How much of a difference maker is it? Softball Dad
The difference on the Louisville Slugger LXT Fastpitch Softball Bat (FPLX14-RR) will be that 1 oz. The -10 will help secure a faster swing speed. Connecting with the softball with a faster swing speed will get her better results.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
