Sr. League Coach

Pros: We purchased this bat as a team bat. The kids were hesitant to use it as it's not composite. However, once we got throttled by a team swinging these, it got a little more use. It's a very good bat for the price.

Cons: Barrel is not as long as composite bat barrels. You really feel it when you miss the sweet spot.

Balls shoot off bat Home Run hitter parent

Pros: This bat has a lot of pop. My son is 11 years old and plays USSSA ball. Bought this bat on clearance for $19.00 for batting practice. He also has a TPX Omaha and a Marucci Black. He used this bat in the cage only until this past weekend. He killed the ball with it. He hit 2 home runs that cleared a 215 ft. fence in center field. Says that he will never use another bat. Don't let the price full you, this is a great bat, don't know why anyone would say it's not.

Cons: None.

can't buy a better bat for the price foothillbruce parent

Pros: Bought this bat on sale and it has turned out to be worth every penney. Really comfortable grip ( white and gets dirty but who really cares) and no complaints of vibration. About half the team has started using the bat. My son didn't want anyone else to use it initially but now that he has let them, it seems to be the bat of choice. He's a line drive hitter and this bat hasn't changed that. durability i rated 4 stars only as i haven't had it that long. But 4 games and a few weeks of practice and no issues at all

Cons: if a dirty grip bothers you the white color grip might not be for you. otherwise hard to find fault at 39 dollars

Nice Bat Harry player

Pros: I hit a 250 ft home run the first swing I took with this bat in a Cooperstown game as a 5'3" 13 year old. It has good pop and is good for the money (a nice asset for somebody who typically plays with wood but needs metal for a tournament).

Awesome bat at a great price! Jeff J coach

Pros: Bought on a whim because it was on sell, figured it would be just a practice bat for my son. Hit some balls in the cage and loved it. We took it to the next practice and he hit 3 over the fence out of 10 pitches he saw! Awesome pop but did say it had some sting on inside pitches.

So far so good! Coach Dad player

Pros: My 9 yr old son's first game was a success with this bat. I thought it was a bit heavy when it first was shipped and he tried a few practice swings. but on game day he went 3 for 3 and blasted the ball. He really "likes how it feels when the ball hits the bat" he says. Plus it makes a real cool sound when contact is made. So far so good. We're happy with this buy. I'll review mid season.

Cons: None so far

I have a 9 year old who is a tall and lean. He is 4 foot 9 and weighs 70 pounds. He is a solid contact hitter. I am looking for a comparison between the TPX Warrior, the Easton S3, and the LS Attack. Thoughts or suggestions? matt
The Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior Senior League Baseball Bat (SL12W) and the 2015 Easton S3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S310) will be similar styles of bat as they are both single-piece alloy designs that have balanced swing weights. The S3 will be a bit lighter overall and have a bit better balance. The 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack Senior League Baseball Bat (SLAT14-R8) is a different style in that it is a two-piece composite design that allows for more flex and sting and vibration protection.
Patrick
I'm looking at the MAKO Bat Pack, but the TPX isn't offered in a 29 or 30" length. Dad
We run a live inventory on the web site, so we regrettably only have the 28" and 31" models of the Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior Senior League Baseball Bat (SL12W) in stock. With this being a 2012 model, we don't anticipate receiving this particular bat in any other sizes.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
