Pros: Came out of the box as expected. Had great pop, great feel, great looks. There is no way for me to grade durability but without question the rest of the grading criteria = 5 stars. We are replacing a 2012 Xeno with a 34" bat. We were a little unsure of what to do, buy 2014 or buy the 2012. It's hard to tell about how others may judge a bat which only adds to the confusion so I really tried to be an open book for this review since there are no other reviews. We are very happy with the 2014 Xeno. In addition to the Xeno, we also bought the LXT since it has a 30 day promise. I hit outfield fungo so I could personally get a feel for how the ball jumped off the '12 Xeno, '14 Xeno and LXT. Without a doubt, hands down, the '14 Xeno had more pop than the LXT. As a matter of fact the '12 Xeno had just as much, if not more, and there is no telling how many 1,000's of balls the '12 has had hit. Sorry LXT but you will be going back to where you came from.
Cons: None, very happy.
Pros: We have been waiting for this bat debut since early summer. My daughter loved her 2012 Xeno, but had issues with the 2013. When LS said they were going to make the 2014 more durable, my thinking was this is not going to have the same pop - WRONG! 1) Hot out of the wrapper 2) Totally agree that 2014 has the pop as the 2012 3) Daughter loves the graphic and color 4) Large sweetspot with no vibration. 5) Very well balance. As a Dad and ex baseball player, I also had to see for myself. I also hit outfield practice rotating several bats that the girls had and happy to report this finished very high! Keeping my fingers crossed on the durability. That the reason I gave it a 3.
Cons: None at this time.
Pros: Awesome bat ...
Cons: Bought it on Friday used it in a tournament Saturday. She put 2 over the fence and countless triples. Took it out of her bag Sunday morning to look it over . . . Handle and barrel joint is loose . Sending it back . And sincerely hope this is not a durability issue for these bats. Hoping to get a new one soon
Pros: Great pop out of the box! Daughter also loves the graphics. Not sure about durability. Just got it last week.
Cons: No cons.
Pros: Feels just like the 2013s balance. Lots of pop when ball is centered barreled up. Looks great best looking bat hands down preforms just like 2013 witch is awesome best bat on the market longevity is the only ? but lets face it we buy bats for bombs not to keep 4 ever 1 year is about right. The bat is Awesome buy it its beautiful and has great pop
Cons: I love Xenos so is sad to say the 2012 has a little more pop but feels heavier than the 2013 and 2014 witch feel identical my kiddo at 11 has had 2012 2013 2014 Xeno so i have a good idea. She swings the 2012 over the 2013 2014
Pros: great feel and our team hit with power and speed this weekend!!
Cons: none
Pros: Looks great! Plenty of pop, the ball explodes off the bat. Much better sweet spot on the 2014 Xeno. My daughter was using a 2011 Xeno, she got 3 good years out of the bat. Hopefully, the durability with the 2014 will be just as long.
Cons: To early to tell
Pros: I just got this bat for my daughter (12u) travel player. We brought it to practice and let the other girls use it and now I think we've got a new team bat. The pop is much better than the 2013 model and so is the feel according to my daughter.
Cons: None at this time. Can't comment on the durability as we've only had it for a few weeks.
Pros: Straight out of the wrapper, the new 2014 Xeno bat performed. My daughter had the 2013 Model, which was light blue and with a white handle and it broke after 8 months. Normally, these bats last us a year. Other softball players recommended this bat to me and it's well worth the $299.99. The graphics are nicer and it has a gray tapped handle unlike last years model, which my daughter hated because it always looked so dirty.
Cons: Don't have one yet.
Pros: Sounds awesome like broken glass when the ball is hit just right. Very light weight, easy to swing.
Cons: Expensive!!
Pros: Drop10 bat that swings like a drop 12.
Cons: None
Pros: Great feel! I hit with the bat for the first time today and I hit 5 homerun's over the fence today! Has great pop! I have never had a xeno bat but have heard great things about it! I have only had the bat for a day now and can not tell how the durability is going to last! So far so good!
Cons: Light gray grip gets dirty easily and the $$!
Pros: love this bat. has great pop
Cons: nothing
Pros: Not much change from previous years
Cons: Shattered the first month
Pros: Hits well with good feel and pop.
Cons: The 2012 and 20!13 bats lasted less than a year.
Pros: Great pop off the sweet spot. This was my 13yr olds first Xeno. Have had 4 Demarinis before the Xeno. The Xeno seems to have a little more pop. But she prefers the more balanced weight of Demarini.
Cons: Concerned about durability but no issues so far.
Pros: I have the Xeno 2012 and love it I have been hitting with it for 3 years now, and recently have gotten the 2014 Xeno because of the new USSSA standards. I am 14 and play 14u travel ball. The Xeno 2012 comes hot out of the wrapper is very durable, and has a great pop. I have started to use my 2014 Xeno more and I LOVE IT! It has a great pop and I can barely swing and it goes long and when I swing my best it goes.
Cons: None at this time.
Pros: My daughter went from a Demarini Vendetta to this bat, and it has been all positive. The ball flies off of the bat right out of the wrapper. The sound when she makes contact is wicked. I've heard some negative reviews regarding durability, but the warranty makes it worth the risk.
Cons: None
Pros: Hot out of the wrapper, has great pop. Compares to the 2012 model.
Cons: none yet.
Pros: I hate this bat.
Cons: Breaks much easier than the others. I don't like the feel of it. Overall a bust.
Pros: Very nice pop, good-feeling bat
Cons: breaks easily, especially when cold or when hit off the end of the bat
Pros: This is my third Xeno. I have the 2012, 2013 and now the 2014. I am a power hitter and I can always trust my Xeno. It has great pop and the sound is just AWESOME! Last year, I hit 23 homeruns with the 2013 , lots of triples and doubles too. It still has lots of pop, but I had to get the 2014 just because I love the colors. It seems to have just as much pop as the previous two. Hopefully, I will have just as many homeruns this year as I did last year.
Cons: None so far
Pros: My daughter is 4'8" and weighs 90lbs. We went from a 28" -11 Demarini to a 30" -10 Xeno. Just in practice it is amazing the difference the ball flies off the bat. She loves the look , the feel, and I love the smile she makes when she hits the ball. I can't leave a remark about the durability yet . But so far we love it.
Cons: It is a little pricey but if it performs as well at game time it will be well worth it.
Pros: great bat my 8 year old daughter loves it very happy with xeno
Cons: none
Pros: POP, POP, POP,
Cons: none
Pros: It looked a little big but it was just right. My old bat might be the same size and same wieght but this is the best bat ever.
Cons: nothin duh
Pros: Daughter went from a -13 in 10u to this Zeno -10 at 11u...Swing has not changed one bit..Says the feel is awesome and the ball flies off the bat basically no matter where she hits it on the barrel! Sounds great and looks great!
Cons: None at this time!
Pros: My daughter is 8 yrs old and loves her 2014 Xeno... she's been using Demarini Bustos since she has started playing ball a year ago. We are now loyal fans of the Xeno. Her infield homeruns have double since she started swinging this bat. Amazing graphics and even better pop!
Cons: None yet because we only had it for such a short time. I do hope it stays that way.
Pros: Bat is super Hot!!!! First High School game hit two home runs, this is her second XENO bat, she loves them. I would recommend this bat to anyone.
Cons: None at this time
Pros: We had always bought our daughter the bats off the clearance rack because we wanted to make sure she was serious about softball. This will be her second year of kid pitch and she has always been a good contact hitter. At practice she is making great contact and the balls were not leaving the infield. We decided to step up and get her a new bat. We researched and decided to go with the Xeno 31/21 bat. First pitch she nailed a linedrive right into my stomach. Then she hit 15 balls harder and farther then she had ever hit before. She was begging to keep hitting. She was jumping up and down because she had never seen the ball go 150 to 175 feet in the air. Just the confidence it has given her in 2 days is well worth the price.
Cons: Can't hit it in under 60 degrees. She has been begging to go hit but we have had to say no.
Pros: Graphics
Cons: Pop, durability The first bat cracked with >100 hits returned and was replaced with the same bat that has NO pop. No where near as good as the 2012 or 2013 models. Louisville Slugger's customer service is top notch but this year model bat is not.
Pros: Great pop and distance
Cons: Cracked in two different places. Three tournaments coming up in three weeks, and no bat.
Pros: It has a great feel and the ball comes off the bat very well. It produced my first two home runs in high school in five games.
Cons: Everyone wants to use my bat.
Pros: I said to myself that I would never get a xeno and that I would stay with demarinis. But when I got the CF6 I couldn't stand it it was awful so my dad and i started looking at the lxt and the 2014 xeno,The xeno had better reviews and by the way it was structuraly set up it was better.it has amazing pop that you can feel and hear.It is an amazing bat that I really recommend you use it is just an overall amazing bat.
Cons: NONE
Pros: none
Cons: After using the bat three times paint began to chip. emblem on bottom of bat fell off.
Pros: Has and amazing pop. Make contact and it was gone.
Cons: First time using this bat and a whole high school Varsity team used it then JV and by the beginning of the JV game the bat had broken into 2 Pieces ( handle and barrel).
Pros: not sure
Cons: it doesnt have the pop like everyone has raved about... if you don't hit it in its sweet spot then it just drops dead!
Pros: Great pop. Feels great in my hands. Gives me an extra 20+ feet when i hit off of it. I am on a 14u team and my team mates can not keep their hands off my bat. Me and one of my teammates hit one to the fence on the same day. HUGE sweet spot. Looks great i love the purple. (:
Cons: It isnt as good as it came out of the wrapper. I have had this bat at the beggining of the season since march and its may right now. The bat is still a great bat but the pop was a lot better 3 months ago. But overall the bat still deserves 5 stars
Pros: Attractive, Pop out of the box. My daughter loves this bat. I have always been scared to buy a bat at this price but since the has gotten serious and traveling 12U i want her to have the best and I think I made a great choice. Killing the ball
Cons: Cost.
Pros: This bat is by far the best bat I've swung. The pop is great, and as long as you make contact with the ball it'll go farther then you think, i recommend this bat!
Cons: --
Pros: The bat was for my daughter in HS and lets just say, she loved it! i was leary about buying online before we seen it, but we are very pleased. Great Pop!
Cons: none
Pros: Pops right out of the wrapper. No break in period required!
Cons: First bat broke in 3 days! Second bat broke in 13 days. Minimal use, used by my 12 year and 13 year old daughters. First bat bent second snapped in half. Bat warranty turn around time is not conducive to girls who play ball as they need their bat!
Pros: My daughter just got the Zeno last week and used it in this past weekend and WOW!!! She got two doubles and three triples!! I had my doubts about the Zeno, but after seeing how the ball flies off the bat, and how my daughter loves it!!! I see that we have made the right decision with the Zeno!!
Cons: NONE
Pros: Granddaughter his a hard grounder so hot that it hit the 2nd basemen's glove before she was ready and and richocheted 100 feet into the outfield.
Cons: Hear all the problems about durability and at this price it makes me worry. Can't really rate it for durability and it is a bit irritating that it is a required field when one hasn't used bat more than a few times.
Pros: Great pop right out of the box. Bought the LTX but sent it back. The xeno is the better all around bat.
Cons: As always cost
Pros: The best bat that I have ever came across. Bought it today, went to practice tonight and absolutely fell in love with it! A great bat. Such a good sound when the ball hits the bat. Amazing pop, nice graphics, durability couldn't be better. I would recommend this bat to anyone playing fast pitch softball. ???
Cons: N/A
Pros: Was a good bat for a short period. Good pop, although nowhere near as good as the blue and white model.
Cons: This bat replaced the 2013 model which developed a bad rattle after 11 months. Entire interior structure of this one detached in less than 9 months and that is despite my daughter not playing in the spring due to injury. Bat is completely dead and worthless now. Manufacturer refused to do ANYTHING since this was a replacement bat. Other players with this bat have complained of rattles inside very early on. This bat is a piece of garbage and I will not be buying ANYTHING from LS again. Unless you have bottomless pockets, avoid this bat.
Pros: My 14 year old daughter wanted this bat this past Christmas..she loves it..she bats right and left..
Cons: none at this time..happy softball mom
Pros: Good pop
Cons: Three girls on my team have this bat all of them rattle. None of them have used it for more than 3 months. LS just seem to break. I have never liked the xeno graphics
Pros: This bat helped me hit on avg 30 ft further and a lot faster through the gaps. We tried the LXT which was good and we have a Mako which is good. But this bat shoots the ball off the bat faster when hit in the sweet spot without any sting what so ever.
Cons: None really- just sad when the scratches came.
Pros: Daughters first home run (in the park grand slam)(14u, high school field). Went from infield singles to outfield doubles. Awesome sound ( like glass breaking). Larger sweet spot. Daughter is 5'7" went with the 34".
Cons: None so far.
Pros: My 8 yr old daughter just finished the District Tournament in Mt Vernon Tx and took the Xeno to work on those teams. She said she will never pick up another bat.
Cons: No Complaints Here
Pros: It has the best pop It has been very durable and easy to swing it has a very nice feeling and like before it is very easy to swing and the grip is not falling off
Cons: Not any
Pros: allows u to hit straight to the fence
Cons: honestly none
Pros: Girls love the color
Cons: If you hit the ball 3" inches off the end of the bat the ball just dies. If you hit the ball 3" inches above the handle the ball dies. Then you have the sweet spot hits like any bat when you hit it off the sweet spot. This is the first last and only xeno bat we will own
Pros: I can't be sure if it was increasing to a 32/22 from a 31/21, but the Xeno hit the ball farther than her Easton and CF4. My daughter walked to the plate with confidence using this bat. No sting unless hit real ugly off the handle. My daughter plays 12U travel ball. She played in one tournament and the world series (bought in the beginning of July.) She took the month of August off from softball. While hitting the ball off the tee, half the bat went flying on Sept 2. Very thankful no one was hit. I have returned the bat and I am excited for a replacement. Hopefully, it won't take too long and the next one lasts more than a month of play. My daughter is 5'3" and weighs 100lbs. She practices softball about 7-8 hours a week on average.
Cons: The bat broke in half while hitting off a tee, and the bat head flew. The paint chips easily compared to her CF4 and Easton bats. This bat is expensive if it only lasts for a short time.
Pros: Geez...17 year old daughter, who has occasional power, borrowed the Xeno bat from teammate this weekend and hit 3 straight home runs. All three towering shots. Think I have to buy a new bat.
Cons: Had 2012 Xeno and it broke after 1 year warranty expired.
Pros: none
Cons: Awful bat. No pop. Broke after 2 months of usage.
Pros: the look if the bat
Cons: i have boyght TWO 2014 xenos and with less than one hundred hits on each bat inside of the barrel was broken! and with the first bat, after receiving the replacement up at bat in broke in half. not having my second one for long its already broken and i take really food care of my bats. this is rediculous! i also like the power i feel when i hit the ball and you can barely feel contact which i do not like!
Pros: Tremendous pop coming off the bat.
Cons: Durability last through one high school varsity and summer showcase season.
Pros: Great pop
Cons: Non durable
Pros: I had bought the easton mako but i saw my sister hitting with hers and the ball just flew off the bat so i clesaned up my bat and exchanged it for the xeno wich not to mention but its wayyyyyy cheaper than the makos and have way better pop
Cons: none right now!!!!
Pros: I am a slap hitter and when i have to have the ball bounce it does an great job. I have had no problems with it so far.
Cons: I have non

About the Brand
In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
