Description

When the CAT 5 burst onto the baseball scene, it became one of the top aluminum bats on the market. This year, Marucci raises the stakes again with unbelievable new technology in the CAT6. Through endless field testing with the top players in America, Marucci discovered that vibration in the top hand is the most common complaint amongst amateur baseball players. Marucci has acquired a patented new anti-vibration technology that blows the competition away. They hired noted bat scientist Dr. Daniel A. Russell to do some lab testing against the top bats on the market. The results were shocking. He found that the vibration dampening rate on the CAT6 is 5.6 times higher than the next closest competitor! For the player, this means that they can step up to the plate worry-free with one thing on their mind; blasting one over the fence! This is literally the smoothest swinging bat ever produced. Experience the difference of this one-piece bat made from the most responsive alloy in the industry. Marucci: Game Tested. Player Approved. This bat is BBCOR Certified and is legal for high school and collegiate play. The Marucci CAT6 carries a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

more than what you barganed for. schs class of 2016 player

Pros: There is absolutely no vibration from anywhere on the bat. Massive pop. Slight end load when holding it but feels balanced when you swing it. The grip is very sticky even after being in dirt, no real need for gloves unless you prefer to wear them. Simple design. Personally gave me confidence at the plate. Hit a home run my first at bat with it. And now I constantly hit the fence. Extremely low price. Outhits 450 dollar bat

Cons: Dirt does scratch the bat. Grip gets dirt colored. Everyone wants to use it.

Better than Cat5 BJR_socal player

Pros: I swung the Cat5 BBCOR and it was the best BBCOR bat i ever had. I bought the Cat6 and it's even better. Feels so good at contact and the ball literally rockets off the barrel. And to top it all off, it's only $250... My friend is already selling his new mako to buy a cat6.

Marucci Cat 6 Tb4 player

Pros: Best bat on the market. $250 for amazing BBCOR bat is unreal. You can hit it any where on the bat and it will not sting. It wil give a gentle little buzz. This bat is very balanced also. It hits so good, I am afraid they will make them illegal.

Cons: The grip gets dirty and the white shows a lotta of scratches but its a baseball bat it will be used hard.

Easily the best BBCOR Christian player

Pros: My training facility has all the new kinds of BBCORs for demos and this is easily the best BBCOR out of all of them. Everyone is using this bat. It has so much more pop than the rest and it is so smooth. The vibration knob actually works too even on jam shots. Me and my brother are both ordering this bat soon. Marucci really stepped their game up with this bat.

Perfect cat6daddy player

Pros: The best description for this bat is smooth. The overall feel is incredible...its very well balanced with just enough weight towards the end to give you power. Don't misunderstand...it is not end loaded, just perfectly weighted in my opinion. Cant say much for durability yet...but its a one piece aluminum so I can't see anything going wrong unless it dents or something. It has just as much pop as any other high end bat (thanks BBCOR). Its just a great swinging bat. Love the one piece feel. Also I think this is a fair price for a great bat. Anything 399 and above is too much for me.

Cons: At least for me, the handle has a fairly large taper to the knob which I don't like. But its an easy fix. I just unwrapped the tape and removed the large rubber cone and replaced it with the small cone from my old bat. Now its perfect! Also the bat looks great new in white but I bet with time it will get pretty ugly looking. But who cares its a bat...as long as it performs I don't care.

Do it Johnny Baseball parent

Pros: My nephew favors basketball and was always intimidated by baseball, he took a few hard swings and hit one over dead center. He is joining my sons 14u travel team now. I was torn between the Cat 6 and the 15 Combat, no regrets after seeing what it can do. Ditch the two piece, the flex top affects power, go with a one piece.

CAT 6 Dan Mac parent

Pros: My son has been playing ball for about 10 years. i have purchased many bats all the {latest and greatest}. He has never been a so called power hitter. The first ball he squared up with the CAT6 one hopped the fence. He said I told you it was a good bat. Well today when he hit his first home run {ever} I am now convinced. For sure worth the price and no reason to spend more.

Cons: After just a few swings makes a weird noise but doesn't seem to matter.

Parent of HS Player Dawnya Alamia parent

Pros: Free & fast shipping when purchased from Justbats.com. The bat had great pop for first couple of months.

Cons: Bat had good pop when new . After a couple of months it lost its pop, sounded dead, and was ball was not coming off the bat good at all! Marucci would NOT warrant the bat even though it was only 5 months old. They said it was performing as it should and due to the new technology the "dead" sound was normal. My son has played baseball since he was in elementary and have had dead bats before so we know what they sound like when dead! Never had an issue with warranties before until now. We previously purchased the Cat5 and loved it so we figured the Cat6 would be even better. We were wrong about the Cat6 and are out 299.99. I do not recommend this bat !!!

Honest review Jason player

Pros: It swings like a wood bat, and like many other people have said, it is the smoothest swinging bat out there. There is absolutely no vibration.

Cons: Has a muted feel because of the vibration dampening technology, this isn't a feel that I really like. It is a great option if you are a contact hitter, but absolutely terrible if you are a power hitter. I am a power hitter, last season I used an XL3 and I hit numerous bombs in the gaps and a ton of home runs and extra base hits. With this bat, I haven't hit a single ball like last season, and instead I'm hitting solid line drives into the outfield sometimes in the gap. I sometimes hit in the gap in the infield. The ball is hit hard, no question, and it is great for those 1-2 hitters, but not for those looking to have balls soaring over the outfielders' heads. I have mixed feelings about this bat, but I will definitely not use it next season (the season is almost over).

Dingers 4 Days Big Burt player

Pros: I hit dingers pretty much every at bat, but the dingers I hit with the Marucci Cat 6 make the fans go wild. I mean, this bat is insanely good. I used to use the Mako and I liked it a lot, but it died rather quickly. When I hit the ball square, it's a dinger. I don't know, it may just be me and my skill, but the Cat 6 is a bat worth looking at. And my at bats are something worth looking at.

Worth every dollar! Matt player

Pros: This bat is absolutely awesome! I saved up for a few months and finally got it. Has great pop and can even hit into the outfield if you hit the ball on the handle. This is perfect for a power hitter as it is top heavy, but it does have a solid balance to it. For $250 it seems to perform better than some more expensive DeMarini and Eastons bats. People complain about the handle getting dirty, but that is part of baseball. I also recommend buying it new, because it looks great right out of the box. No break in needed.

Pros: This is the best bat on the market right now. As soon as you pick it up it has a great feel. It's well balanced, the grip is nice, and I'm a huge fan of the one piece design. I used it my senior year of high school and had a great season with multiple dingers. Great pop. Will be using it my freshman year of college.

Cons: Pitchers hate you

Great Bat overall Josh McLelland player

Pros: Has a great general feel, i love the bat, Im a big marucci fan an have every new bat they come out with. It has a great color an the grip lasts. Good pop all the time, hasnt worn out yet. It may sound like a dud an seem dead when you hit it on the ground but man do those balls fly. 3 doubles in one game, first season with it i batted 400

Cons: The grip gets dirty an the bats white finish will fade a little, Ive had mine for 2 seasons an it is more or a dirty white/ yellow hints too it.

Pros: Overall just a really nice bat. My son used Combat bats for years and really liked them but tried a teammates Cat 6 and loved it. Slightly end loaded but swings really nicely. Overall a very good bat for the money.

Pros: Every player knows, it's not the bat, it's the player. But a good bat never hurt anybody. This bat is a great bat. It gives you the confidence you need to walk up to the play every time, thinking you will get a hit. Been an Easton guy my whole life, switched over to Marucci, haven't looked back since.

Impressive Bat Dad parent

Pros: Pop Balance Feel I purchased this bat (32/29) as a cage bat for over the winter for my 13u player. It was obvious as soon as he started swinging that the bat had excellent pop. He liked it so much that we purchased a -5 model also for him to swing in games. He was asked to guest play with a JV team this summer and his first AB with a BBCOR he one hopped a 370' fence with his CAT 6. Not sure I could ever tell anyone to spend more money on a different bat, this one is just as much bat at 1/2 the price.

Pros: It's a nice looking bat and has a nice whistle to it! and Hits good grounders!

Cons: The ball only travels about 60% of expectations with a good timed swing and when the sweet spot connects! Doesn't seem to have the drive it should. Disappointing to me especially after spending $250.00! You don't see this bat used very much "for some reason" with the more experienced Little League and travel ball players! Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Would this bat better fit a contact or power hitter and why? J
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will have features that fit both styles of hitter. The stiff flex will be beneficial for power hitter types while the balanced swing weight will be a good fit for all styles of hitter.
Patrick
How does the 2015 Marucci Cat 6 BBCOR compare to the 2014 Marucci Elite BBCOR? Baseball bro
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCB614) is a one-piece full alloy bat with a patented anti-vibration technology that makes it one of the most forgiving and best feeling bats on the market. The 2014 Marucci Elite is a composite handled, multi-material barrel bat that was designed to be extremely balanced. Some players will prefer the ultra-balanced feel of the Elite, but the vast majority of players will prefer the feel and performance of the new Cat 6.
Cooper
Is this bat end-loaded or balanced? J Swag
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will feature a more balanced feel.
Patrick
Is this bat more geared towards a power hitter or a contact hitter? Also, would you recommend this or the Louisville Slugger 715? Johnny Football
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is going to be directed more towards a contact hitter. The Louisville Slugger Prime 715 is going to be a good bat as well but it will have a slight end load to it so it will be directed more towards a power hitter.
Cooper
What is the difference between the Cat 5 and the Cat 6? Brian
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR (MCBC614) is going to be very similar to the older CAT 5 model in terms of construction and performance. Marucci has acquired a patented new anti-vibration technology for the CAT 6. This study on this technology has found that the vibration dampening rate on the CAT 6 is 5.6 times higher than the next competitor.
John
Which bat is a better choice a Cat 6 or a Easton S1? I'm looking for a balanced bat with a nice barrel size that can easily get through the zone without the weight of the barrel causing my bat to drop. Garry
Both the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S1) would be nice balanced weight choices. The S1 will be a two-piece composite design that will flex a bit and could possibly lead to more bat speed than on the one-piece alloy Cat 6.
Patrick
When will the Cat 6 Senior League come out? Mr. Clutch
We are currently waiting to hear when the Senior League model of the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will be released. More information will be provided as we find out.
Patrick
Is this bat going to be available in a drop 10 youth big barrel like the Cat 5 was? Brandon
We have not heard yet whether the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will be released in a senior league model or any of the specifications of the bat if it does.
Patrick
How would the swing weight of the new Cat 6 compare with the New Louisville Slugger 515 or Rip-It Air? Recommendations between these 3? How would this bat compare to the Easton Mako in swing weight or pop? Tom
All of the bats you mentioned are pretty well balanced BBCOR model bats so they will have similar feeling swing weight. The BBCOR certifications on all these bats also limits the performance or "pop" that the bats are capable of; because of this, factors such as sweet spot size and feel at contact are often the biggest difference between bat models.
Patrick
I'm about 6'1 and 160 lbs. I have a 32 inch CAT 5 and am wondering what size CAT 6 I should get? I have great bat speed and am a contact/power hitter. chcuck
For someone your size I would recommend using a 33" in the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614).
Cooper
What are the differences between the Marucci ONE and the CAT 6? Do they feel similar? Joe
The Marucci Cat 6 has a balanced swing weight, but it has a longer barrel, bigger sweetspot, and carries through the ball better than the Marucci One. One additional and significant difference between the Cat 6 and the One is that the Cat 6 has Marucci's patented anti-vibration technology built into its knob.
John
How do you think the Cat 6 compares to the Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB136? Sweet spot size, swing feel, balance, power vs. contact, and durability? Tommy
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will be similar in design to the Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB136) in most aspects of its design. It will be a bit more well balanced and have better sting and vibration protection and will also have improved durability over the Omaha. Both are nice one-piece alloy models though.
Patrick
I am 6 feet tall and weigh 185 pounds. I am going into college ball. I am more of a power hitter but I like to hit for contact. Would this Marucci Cat 6 or the 2014 Voodoo be better for me? Big D
Preference between the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) would come down to which style you like more. Both could be used by power hitters. If you like an end-loaded feel, you should go with the Voodoo. If you like a balanced model or may need the added bat speed at times, I would go with the Cat 6.
Patrick
Is this as balanced as the Marucci Elite 2014? Joe
No, the Elite bats were designed to be the fastest swinging Marucci bats on the market. In contrast, the Cat 6, while still very balanced, was designed with a focus on feel and sweet spot size; and to maximize those characteristics it gives up a tiny bit in balance.
Merritt
I'm 5'8" and 160 lbs; what size would you recommend? Jim
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614). For more information on sizing, check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tessa
I'm 5'6", 120 lbs sophomore in high school. I am also a lead off batter who hits for contact. What size do you feel would work best for me? Lark51
Based on your approximate height and weight, I would probably suggest 30". However, this size is just the average. If you are bigger/smaller for your age, you can always increase or decrease an inch as well for the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (MCBC614).
Merritt
I'm about 5'8" and I've been hitting in the cleanup spot for years. I'm going into my freshman year of high school and I've been swinging a 32 inch bat since my last year of little league. I'm not sure I'm ready for 33 but 32 is starting to feel a bit small for me as a power hitter. Any advice on sizing? also, is this a good bat for power? ben27
It's all about what you are most comfortable with at the plate. You can check out our Bat Coach for sizing options (http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/) but if you're not ready to move up to a 33", it's probably best to stick with a 32" or go with a 32.5" model. The CAT 6 will be very balanced and has a longer barrel and bigger sweet spot so it is great for both contact and power hitters. If you decide to go with a 32.5" model, I'd check out the 2014 RIP-IT AIR Elite BBCOR Baseball Bat: B1403E.
John H
Will this bat be banned from high school play like the Cat 5? Or will this be legal? beisbol
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (MCBC614) features the proper .50 BBCOR certification stamp, and will be legal for play in high school.
Merritt

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will meet all BBCOR standards so it will not be banned under the current rule system. The CAT 6 will be a very durable alloy bat.
Patrick
Does this bat have the USSSA stamp? lou
No, the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) does not carry the USSSA stamp. The CAT 6 only carries the BBCOR stamp.
John H
I have a 2014 Mako and really like it. How does this bat compare to the Mako in terms of balance and performance? Do you prefer the Mako or the CAT 6? dag
Both the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) are great models. They will be similarly balanced but that is where the similarity stops. The MAKO is a two-piece composite design and the CAT 6 is a one-piece alloy. The preference between the two would be based on your preference of the style of bat you like.
Patrick
I am 13 and looking for a light bat with good pop. Would you recommend this bat? Justin
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will have great pop. There is no break-in period required. I would definitely recommend this bat.
Brandon
Is the Marucci CAT 6 top heavy or balanced? Jay
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) has a balanced swing weight.
John H
What are the differences between the Black, CAT 6, and Elite bat? Msmbkm
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a one-piece alloy with an extended sweet spot and balanced swing weight. The Elite is a two-piece seamless hybrid with an alloy barrel and composite handle that also features composite material toward the end of the barrel to make it a very balance model. The Marucci Black features the largest sweet spot of the three and is a two-piece seamless hybrid as well.
Mac
Which bat would you prefer, the CAT 6 or the 2015 Rip-It Air? Which has more pop? catcher16
Both the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) are nice one-piece alloy designs that would have similar overall durability and performance. The preference between the two would be based more on brand preference because both will perform at similar high levels.
Patrick
Does this bat have a larger sweet spot than the Marucci Elite? Which bat has a lighter swing weight? Also, will there be a 2015 Marucci Elite? Baseball
Both the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 (MCBC614) and the Marucci Elite will have the same size sweet spot. The Marucci Elite has a slightly lighter swing weight due to the composite material at the end of the barrel.
Sean
How his bat compare to the 2015 Rawlings Velo with the sound, feel, and pop? Sebaseball
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the CAT 6 are very similar to each other. They both feature a balanced swing weight as well as a one-piece fully alloy design. With regard to pop, since they both have to meet the same BBCOR performance standard, they will have about the same pop.
Tessa
I am 5'7" and 125 pounds. I am going to be a freshman, what size would you prefer? Also, would you prefer the Elite or CAT 6 for a small contact-hitter? Nich51
Based on the player's approximate height and weight, I would suggest 31 inches. Generally, for a contact-hitter, I would suggest a two-piece, balanced design. Therefore, I would probably recommend taking a closer look at the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (DXCFC).
Merritt
I am a power hitter 6'1" 150 lbs, and I like barrel length. Which Marucci bat would you recommend? benji
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (MCBC614) will work well as a bat for power hitters. Generally, big hitters prefer a one-piece design for the added stiffness it provides. Another great option would be the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR Baseball Bat: (DXVDC). This model is a two-piece, however, it does incorporate a slight end-load, and this weight distribution tends to be highly preferred by power hitters. Ultimately, it will come down to player preference, but both of these are excellent options for big hitters.
Merritt
What is the difference between this bat and the Cat 5? peter
Sean
Will this swing like Marucci Team, or Black 2 bat? And, is it a good option for power hitters? Hommer
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) has a larger sweet spot than the Team, but it still offers a balanced swing weight. I would say it's closer to the Team in feel and balance than the Black 2. Any bat is a good option for a power hitter, as long as they are comfortable using it. But the stiff flex provided by the one-piece design is a good fit for a stronger player.
Mac
How is the balance of the Cat 6 compared to the Rip-It AIR? rollerz
Both the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the RIP-IT AIR feature balanced swing weights, which is generally preferred by contact hitters.
Tessa
I just bought this bat and I have used it in one showcase. It is making a weird sound when I hit the nob on the ground. Is it defective or is this normal? Thanks. Marshall
This is completely normal for the Cat6. The reason you hear that particular sound is because of the vibration reducing damper that is unique to the Cat6 line. The vibration-reducing damper is absorbing and trapping all of the vibrations that are being produced in the bat, in turn producing this deadening sound. This is normal and is in fact, technology at work...
Damon
Does this bat have a balanced feel or is it top heavy? mike
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) has a very balanced swing feel.
Brandon

Tessa
Should I get Marucci Black or CAT 6? johhny football
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and Marucci Black are both very comfortable, high performing models from Marucci. The Cat 6 will have a longer barrel length and sweet spot. Both models will have an anit-vibration technology to eliminate hand sting and discomfort. Either would be a fantastic choice!
Brandon
Which is better in terms of pop the CAT 6 or the 2015 RIP-IT AIR? beisbol1
Both of the bats you mentioned are pretty well balanced BBCOR model bats so they will have similar feeling swing weight. The BBCOR certifications on all these bats also limits the performance or "pop" that the bats are capable of; because of this, factors such as sweet spot size and feel at contact are often the biggest difference between bat models.
Kelby
Which bat is better in terms of pop in your opinion between the CAT 6 or the 2015 RIP IT AIR? baseball100
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) will have similar designs and will be regulated under the same BBCOR standard so their maximum performance or "pop" will be the same. The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) has a one-piece balanced design and is an excellent bat for a contact hitter or a power hitter. The stiff one-piece design is great for a power hitter. The Easton MAKO has a two-piece balanced design and is an ideal bat for a contact hitter. The combination of the flex from the two-piece design and the balanced swing weight are great for contact hitters.
Jason

The Easton MAKO is typically considered a better bat overall for a contact hitter because of the combination of the balanced swing weight and two-piece design.

Brandon
I am very interested in this bat and the CAT 5, but I heard the CAT 5 was illegal for high school. Is that true or is it legal to use it in high school now? Robert
The 33 inch and 34 inch models of the Marucci CAT 5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCB2) have been banned from high school play but the shorter models are still legal. The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will be very similar in terms of overall design and performance.

Patrick

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614), the 2015 5150, and the Omaha 515 are three very comparable bats. They all have balanced swing weights and feature a one-piece alloy design. Neither bat has more pop than the other because they are all certified with the BBCOR .50 certification stamp. It really depends on the players preference in manufacturer.
Jason
I am looking to buy a new bat for the upcoming season. However, I'm stuck between two bats. I'm looking at the CAT 6 and the DeMarini CF6. I am in high school and am more of a contact hitter than someone who is going to be blasting the ball over the fence. Which bat would be best? Easton
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the DeMarini CF6 both have balanced swing weights and are great for contact hitters. However, the combination of the two-piece design and balanced swing weight on the CF6 is the most ideal design for contact hitters. The two-piece design can help increase a players bat speed and provide more of whipping action with the bat.
Jason
I am 5'8" and 150 lbs. I am entering my third year of high school ball. I have been swinging a 32" for 4 years now. I am wondering whether I should buy the 33/30 CAT6 or the 32/29? Johnny Baseball

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is an excellent option for a contact and power hitter. It has a stiff one-piece design with a balanced swing weight. The XL1 is typically best for a pure power hitter because of its end loaded swing weight.

What bat should I get? The Easton S1 or Marucci Cat 6. I'm a contact hitter. isaacalvarez
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a one-piece ring-free alloy bat featuring the AZ3000 Alloy as well as an anti-vibration knob to eliminate vibration. The 2015 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15S1) is a two-piece composite bat featuring the IMX advanced grade composite as well as an SIC black carbon handle. The MCBC614 will be stiffer and not offer as much flex through the zone. Additionally, it will be game -ready with no break-in period required. The BB15S1 will offer more flex through the zone, and is typically what we recommend for contact hitters. Additionally, it will require a break-in period of 100-120 swings off of a tee or soft-toss.
Joe

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614), 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRVB), and the 2015 Louisville Slugger Omaha 515 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBO5153) are all rated to the same BBCOr standard and will have similar durability so the preference would come down to brand or style preference.
Patrick

Damon
Is it worth the extra $100 to get the CAT 6 instead of the older CAT 5? I am about 5'6" and 120lbs. I would be buying a 31 inch BBCOR model. BBP HS BASEBALL
Both the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the Marucci CAT 5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCB2) will both be excellent options for you this upcoming season. They will be similar bats, however, the Cat 6 does use a new type of alloy that has been engineered specifically for Marucci called AZ3000 alloy. This AZ3000 alloy has been designed to withstand entire seasons and has already been proven to perform like the Cat 5.
Ben
I am a 6' 205 lb. Junior. I have been debating for about a week and a half about getting the CAT 6 or the VELO. What is your recommendation to me? I've never had a Marucci bat before. I really want the CAT 6 but I'm afraid I might not like it. Chapstick003
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a great bat. It will have a similar feel to the Rawlings VELO BBCOR. Both are one-piece fully alloy bats. Both will have very light and balanced feels. At your current size, either bat would feel perfect for you. No break-in period is required on either model.
Brandon

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a BBCOR bat that is only going to be in a -3 design. But I looked at other youth models in the Cat 6 and it looks like we do not offer a 30 inch 20 ounce in that bat.
Frankie
I am a contact/power hitter. I'm 5'11" and 135 lbs. What length do you suggest? Al

Ben
Is there really much of a difference between the cat 5 and cat 6? Does one just overwhelmingly overpower the other to a point that 100 more dollars are worth the buy? lucas dinger varela
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) features the AZ3000 Alloy construction as well as a ring-free barrel. The Marucci CAT 5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCB2) was originally released in 2011/2012, and is known as one of the hottest BBCOR Bats. The 33"-34" models are still banned from play for exceeding the BBCOR ratings. The Bats will have similar construction featuring a one-piece well-balanced alloy.
Joe

I am 5'10" and 180 lbs, what size Cat 6 should I get? Also I am debating between a 2015 Demarini Voodoo Overlord and a Marucci Cat 6. I am more of a power hitter than contact hitter but I want a bat with a lot of pop and a fast swing weight. What would be the best for me? baseball2
For a player of your size, our bat coach recommends the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) in a 33" 30 oz. model. The CAT 6 and the Overlord will both be suited for power hitters. The Cat 6 features a one-piece alloy design with their ring free barrel design. This will allow for faster swing speeds as well as extending the sweet spot. The Overlord features a two-piece hybrid design with an alloy barrel and composite handle. Additionally, it will feature a slight end-load. Two-piece models typically increase your swing speed by allowing for more flex through the zone. Traditional power hitters usually prefer the stiffer feel of the one-piece models however. In regards to performance both bats will be similar.
Joe

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the RIP-IT AIR would both be great for a contact hitter. Both are very balanced and have light swing weight. Their pop and performance will be very similar.
Brandon
I was wondering if the Marucci Cat 6 33" 30 oz can be used for 13-15 years old Babe Ruth league? I know the Cat 5 cant be used in it. Danny
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) features the BBCOR certification stamp and is legal for play in the 13-15 year old division in Babe Ruth. The Cat 5 had a slightly different design and the 33" and 34" models no longer match the BBCOR certification.
Jason

Using our Bat Coach, I recommend swinging the 33" model in the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614).
Tom
How does this bat compare to the DeMarini CF7 (DXCFC) bat? The Marucci is $200 cheaper and just wondering way such a big difference when the reviews are so similar? tim
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a one piece bat with an alloy structure. The 2015 DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) is a two piece bat with a composite structure. The composite material used in the two piece is more expensive than alloy material used in the one piece so that is why the CF7 is priced higher than the CAT 6.
Tom
I'm 5'8", 120 lbs., and a contact hitter. Which bat should I get: Marucci CAT 6, Marucci Elite, or the Marucci Black? brandon
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will be the most balanced of the three. The Elite will actually have the lowest MOI, which means that it will swing the fastest. The Black is a two-piece seamless hybrid, which means that it will swing very similarly to a one-piece bat. All three are great balanced choices for contact hitting, ultimately, it will be a matter of your own preference as to which would be the better model for you.
Tessa
Is the 33 inch version of this bat legal in high school play? I was just wondering since the Cat 5 33 inch wasn't allowed for high school play. DavidChairez52
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is legal for play in both high-school and collegiate play.
Joe
Will the Cat 6 have the same type of weight balance as the Mako? Something thats equally balanced. JMack
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will be quite a bit stiffer through the zone than the MAKO. Additionally, it will have a more end-loaded feel. If you are looking for a bat that has a similar swing weight to the MAKO, we would recommend the 2015 DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC).
Joe
I'm looking for the lightest swing weight possible under $250. Is this bat a good idea? If not, which bat is? drewbie baseball
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is one of the more balanced bats BBCOR bats on the market and as a result will be a light swinging bat. The CAT 6 is a terrific option for what you are looking for.
Jason
How does this bat stand up against the 2014 Easton MAKO? I know that the MAKO is composite and the Marrucci CAT 6 is an alloy bat, but are both equally or similarily balanced? What about the difference in pop? Darth Vader's ghost
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) are both great models. They will be similarly balanced. As far as pop goes, under the BBCOR standards all bats will have the same performance standards across the board so pop is going to be similar as well. The main difference besides the material is that the CAT 6 is a one piece and the MAKO is a two piece. The one piece CAT 6 will offer a stiffer flex.
Tom
The Cat 6 is quite an amazing bat, a lot like the Cat 5. Do you think it'll get banned like the Cat 5? the man
The issues that lead to certain sizes of the Marucci CAT 5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCB2) being banned have been addressed so the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will not have those problems.
Patrick
I'm kind of between a contact/power hitter and want to know what would be a better bat choice for me: the CAT 6 or Voodoo? A NOBODY
Both bats are great options, but it comes down to what you prefer. The DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is a two piece hybrid with a composite handle and alloy barrel with an extended barrel and end loaded swing weight. The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a one piece alloy with a balanced swing weight. If you are in the middle either of these would work.
Allison
I have a Cat 6 and when I tap the end of it, it kind of sounds like it is cracked. But its not. Is this normal? dom_205
Tapping the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) on the ground or something else is not a good way to indicate if there is an issue with the bat. If there has been a visible crack or severe denting or if the bat has had a significant and very noticeable drop in performance, you could contact the manufacturer and take steps to have the bat tested to see if it has become defective and would need to be replaced.
Patrick
Hi, I'm 5'9" and weigh 160 pounds. I am a power hitter and was wondering what size bat I should get and whether the Easton Mako or the Cat 6 would be the better option? Dan
For a player of your size, our bat coach recommends the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) in a 31" 28 oz. model. Typically, we recommend a two-piece model for contact hitters such as the 2015 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15MK). A one piece model such as the Cat 6 would be recommended for use by a power hitter. Additionally, the MAKO is a full composite model and the Cat 6 is an alloy bat.
Joe
Marucci Cat 6, Easton Mako, or Demarini CF6? coopwil25
All incredible bats! The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is fully alloy in design. The others will be fully composite. All will be very balanced and help get you fast bat speeds. The MAKO will provide the longest barrel length of the three. With all three getting great reviews, this a win/win/win situation!
Brandon
Can this bat be used in Bronco PONY (12u)? JD
Yes, the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) would be considered legal for play in 12u Pony. We recommend double checking with a coach or a league official to be absolutely certain.
Tessa
I am a power hitter and I can't decide between the Marucci Cat 6 and the Rawlings 5150. I've heard great things about the Cat 6 but I am worried because I have never had a Marucci bat and all of my friends are telling me that the 5150 is the best BBCOR bat on the market. SalemBaseball7
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the 2015 Rawlings 5150 Baseball Bat BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB5150) share many similar design features that make them compare very closely. Both are nice options and preference would really come down to brand and style preference rather than one being completely better than another.
Patrick

Both of these bats are going to be balanced bats designed for contact hitters.
Frankie
Is the Marucci CAT 6 a bat for a power hitter? I'm looking for a bat with lots of pop and power, but not too expensive. What do you recommend for me? I am 5'9 160 lbs. and 14 years old. i love baseball
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) would be a good option for you. It is an extremely popular, highly performing one piece alloy bat. Based on your size, I would recommend using a 32" 29 oz. model.
Tom
I'm more of a contact hitter. Would you recommend this bat to me, if I'm looking to get more power out of my swing? johnnybasrbal
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) would be a fantastic choice. It is the most balanced bat that Marucci makes, so this is going to be a great option to work on bat speed and bat control. The one-piece design will also allow for a stiffer feel on contact, so there will not be as much loss of momentum from your swing when the ball makes contact with the barrel of your bat. This would be a great choice for a contact hitter.
Tessa
I am a freshman in high school and I have grown a lot recently. I am looking to be a power hitter. Would this bat work for me? pickle
The stiffer flex of the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a feature that many power hitters prefer while the balanced design is good for transitioning into BBCOR bats and keeping swing speed up. For those reasons, I would think the CAT 6 would be a good fit for you.
Patrick
Is the paint scheme the only difference between the CAT 6 and the CAT 6 Digi Camo? Catchers Dad
Yes, that is the only difference between the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the CAT 6 Digi Camo.
Tom
I am 5'3" and 160 lbs. Which option would be best for me? Also, is it legal to use it in a little league 50/70 division? td0p_1231
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a great choice for a BBCOR bat. It is very balanced and fully alloy. It will not require any period of break-in. I would check with your coach or league official first, but the BBCOR bat should be accepted in your league.
Brandon
So since the bat is balanced I should be able to swing the 33 inch bat just as normal as 32 inch? Drew
Whether balanced or end-loaded, the bat will still weigh the same overall. The swing weight on balanced models like the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will be a bit lighter than on a more end-loaded design but that does not necessarily mean that you should get a longer bat.
Patrick
How would you compare this bat to the Rip It Air? joe flow
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) are going to be very similar. Both have a balanced feel to the bats and are designed for a contact hitter. Both are going to be a one piece alloy design, but they both use different alloy.
Frankie
What is the CAT 6's grip size? What size bat does a 6'4", 165 lb player need? Topper
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) does have a fairly thick taper on the grip, which keeps your lower hand from chafing on the knob. For a player of that size, our bat coach would recommend a 34" 31 oz. model.
Joe
Is this the best bat on the market for a power hitter? Ryan
The balanced swing weight of the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is typically favored by contact hitters, since it is easier to work on bat speed and bat control with a balanced bat. Typically, power hitters will prefer an end loaded bat that will take advantage if their fast bat speed and strength. The one-piece design of the CAT 6 is complimentary to power hitting though, since power hitters tend to prefer one-piece bats. This is because the one-piece design isn't as forgiving as a two-piece. Two-piece bats with a lot of flex can be a bad thing for a power hitter because it can cause loss of bat head control and a late whipping action.
Tessa
On this bat one of the customers reviewed this bat saying that , "It says its balanced but its a bit top heavy." Is the Marucci Cat 6 a little end loaded as that customer reviewed or is it balanced as advertised? lil freese
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is going to be a light and balanced bat.

The CAT 6 has slightly better vibration eliminating technology.
Tom
The Marucci CAT 6 or the Easton XL3, which do you think will be better for a power hitter? ccamp
Either the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) or the Easton XL3 would be a good option for a power hitter. The only difference in the two bats is that the CAT 6 features a balanced swing weight and the XL3 features an end loaded swing weight and extended barrel.
Tom
I'm a power hitter and I use a 32/29 BBCOR. Would the Marucci Black or the CAT 6 be better for a power hitter? I have a good swing speed and like top heavy bats. Baseball1
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) would be more balanced compared to the Black BBCOR. If you like a more top heavy bat, go with the Marucci Black. Both will be very high performing and have great pop.
Brandon
Which bat is better, the Easton S3Z ZCORE or the Marucci CAT 6? thebig32
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is great for power and contact hitters. It will have the same balanced swing feel like the S3Z. They both have great pop.
Brandon
I know that I need a 32 inch 29 ounce BBCOR bat. I am 5 foot 5 and a contact hitter. I do not like a top heavy bat. What is a better bat for me? The Marucci CAT 6 or the new DeMarini Voodoo? brady
Between those two bats, I would go with the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) if you do not like a top-heavy or end-loaded feel. The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is an end-loaded design.

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) features a one piece full alloy design with a balanced swing weight. The Marucci Black BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB14) features a two piece hybrid with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The Black does offer an end loaded swing weight. If you prefer an end loaded model, between these two, you would want the Black.
Joe
Is there a significant difference between the CAT 5 and CAT 6 other than color? Ben0692
Liz
Which is better, the BBCOR CAT 6 or the BBCOR VELO? badgerbaseball
Both bats are similar to each other. The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRVB ) are one-piece aluminum bats, so they will have a similar feel. However, the CAT 6 seems to not only be a more popular bat, but it has more technology incorporated, such as the anti-vibration knob to help eliminate sting.
Chinyere
Is the CAT 6 higher performing than the VELO? badgerbaseball
Both the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRVB) feature a one-piece fully alloy design with an extremely balanced swing weight. The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will feature a two piece hybrid design with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. Additionally, it offers an end loaded swing weight. We would recommend either model for a gap to power hitter. Both bats offer vibration reduction technology to help reduce hand sting.
Joe
My son is 14 years old, 5'10" and 120 lbs. What size does he need? hammer
For a player of his size, our bat coach would recommend the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) in a 32" 29 oz. model. The 33" 30 oz. model would likely be too large for him.
Joe
I have a 33" DeMarini M2M right now, and I am considering the CAT 6. I felt that the M2M had too heavy of a swing for me. Will this bat have a lighter feel? BaseHit
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is the most balanced bat that Marucci manufactures. The DeMarini M2M actually featured an end loaded swing weight, so this CAT 6 will definitely have a lighter feel compared to the M2M. This would be a great choice to work on bat speed and bat control.
Tessa
Is this bat end loaded? I'm 5'7" and 175 pounds. What size bat should I get? jayson ( CC)
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a balanced design. For a player with your height and weight we would recommend a 32".
John
My friend swings a 2013 Omaha that I really like. My old bat is a CF5. I always felt like I couldn't locate the barrel. Would this bat feel more like that Omaha, or would the new Omaha be better? I'm a gap to gap hitter. Henrico hitter
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) would be very comparable to the Louisville Slugger Omaha 515. Both models feature a balanced, one-piece, fully alloy design. The CAT 6 is actually the most balanced bat that Marucci manufactures, so if you wanted to go with a model that would be great for a gap hitter, this would be a fantastic choice.
Tessa
I'm 6 foot 1 (73 inches) and 190 LBS, and am currently using a 33/30 2014 Marucci Black BBCOR. Your sizing chart reccomends a 34/31 for someone of my height and weight. I have never used a bat larger than 33/30. How does the swing weight differ from the Black (Would I be able to swing the 34/31 as fast as I do the 33/30 Black)? Should I stick with the 33/30 or step up to the 34/31? Aydes of March
Our sizing chart only gives an average and doesn't take into consideration player preferences. If you were swinging a 33"/30 oz. bat well, you don't have to force yourself to use a 34"/31 oz. model of the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614)
Chinyere
I am 5'9" and 185 lbs. What size bat should I get? No. 2

Joe
I'm 5'5" and 120 lbs. Would you recommend the CAT 6 or the CF7? dylan
For a player of your size, our bat coach would recommend the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) in a 30" 27 oz. model. This model features a one piece full alloy design with a balanced swing weight. The 2015 DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) would be an excellent option as well. It features a two piece full composite design with an extremely balanced design. Either model would be ideal for a contact to gap hitter, or a younger player using a BBCOR model.
Joe
I'm 5 foot 11 inches and 195 pounds, what would you guys recommend? What are your bat recommendations? Jworm
Based on your height and weight I would recommend the 33 inch 30 ounce. If you are a contact hitter the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) would be great choice. If you are a power hitter I would take a look at the Easton XL series or the DeMarini Voodoo Overlord.
Frankie
Is this or the CAT 5 illegal in high school baseball? I am 5 foot 9 and weigh 195 pounds and my uncle told me to stick with a 32 inch since that is all I have swung before. How does the balance and swing feel compared to a Marucci Team bat which is my old bat? chuckles
The Marucci CAT 5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCB2) was ruled illegal in the 33 inc or 34 inch size. The 32 inch would still be legal. The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is legal in all sizes and would be similarly balanced to the Marucci Team BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBT) but should have a bit better sting and vibration protection. Based on your height and weight, I would say a 32 inch would be a good fit for you.
Patrick
I'm 6'1" and 160 pounds. What bat would you recommend in the 32" 29 oz. size? Jt

The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the Louisville Slugger Omaha 515 are very similar bats. They are both one piece alloy bats with balanced swing weights. The CAT 6 has slightly better anti-vibration technology.
Tom
I am in 8th grade and in a league that we use BBCOR bats. I have been using a Demarini CF5, but am looking to get a new bat. One of the features I prefer in a bat is that it is balanced and not end-loaded, being a contact hitter. Would a bat such as the CAT 6 be a good choice, or any other suggestions? JS
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a one piece alloy bat with a balanced swing weight. It is one of the more popular BBCOR bats and would be a good option for any hitter. It is going to have a stiffer flex than your two piece composite DeMarini CF5.
Tom
Is the Marucci Cat 6 bat a composite bat? Does it need to be broken in? SPECIAL K

Jason
Would you consider this bat to be the best on the market or something else? Richard
There are many good bats available from many different manufacturers. It would not be that one bat stands out as the very best. The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a great design and good performing bat that gets excellent reviews. In the single-piece alloy category, it is one of the best options available.
Patrick
What are the differences between this bat and the Rawlings Select 715? Josh
Rawlings does not make a Select 715 bat. If you are referring to the 2015 Louisville Slugger Select 715 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBS7153), the difference would be the design. The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a single-piece alloy material bat with a balanced swing weight while the Select 715 is a two-piece hybrid design with a composite handle and alloy barrel and a slightly end-loaded feel. They are very different by design in terms of feel.
Patrick
I'm a contact/power hitter. Do you suggest the 2015 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15X1), or the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614)? What size? I am 5'11, 175 lbs. slomo_9
We would recommend a 33-34" model based on your height and weight. The Marucci Cat 6 would be a better fit if you are a contact hitter because it is more balanced. The Easton XL1 would be a better fit for a power hitter because it is more end loaded.
Damon
Is it a big barrel? gmoney
All BBCOR bats feature a 2 5/8" barrel diameter, so the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a big barrel model.
Joe
A lot of my friends on my baseball team said that the Cat 6 is banned from play. Is this true? ag123
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is not banned from play in any organizations. A previous model of the Cat 5, commonly referred to as the Cat 5 squared had the 33" and 34" models banned from play, as the exit velocity of the ball exceeded the legal limits set in place by the NFHS.
Joe
Hello, I am 5' 8" and about 135 pounds. My current voodo overlord has great pop, but it is a little to end loaded for me. Would this bat help me get the barrel through the zone quicker. If so what would be a good size. Cyeags429
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) does have a more balanced swing weight, however the stiffness of the one piece model can slow your swing down. We would recommend a balanced hybrid model such as the Marucci Black BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBB14) in a 32" 29 oz. model.
Joe
I am a college baseball player who uses the Marucci Cat 6 during the spring season, but am looking for a wood bat that will swing similar to it for a wood bat summer league. What would be some turn models that would be comparable options? JT
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is the most balanced bat that Marucci manufactures. If you are looking for a wood bat that would feature a similarly balanced feel, we recommend looking at any bat that has a 110 turn. The 110 turn has the most balanced swing weight of the standard turn models. This is a great option for a player who is new to wood bats and helps ease the transition from a BBCOR model. The thick handle also adds to the bat"s durability. The 110 turn is a very popular choice among contact hitters who are looking for more bat speed through the hitting zone.
Tessa
I am a 5'5", 135 baseball player who is looking for a balanced bat. I am using the Marucci Elite bat this year as a senior league bat. Next year we have to go to BBCOR bats only. Which bat would be better for me the Elite or the CAT 6? Also what size of bat? sdw16
Both the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and Marucci Elite are solid choices to go with. The Marucci CAT 6 is actually the most balanced bat that Marucci manufactures, so if you wanting the more balanced of the two, it would be the CAT 6. Given your height and weight, we recommend a 31" bat.
Tessa
What is the difference between the Marucci CAT 6 and the Marucci Black 2.0. I am a contact hitter. jose
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a one-piece all alloy design with a balanced swing weight. The Marucci Black 2.0 is a seamless two-piece design. It will feature an alloy barrel and a composite handle. The Black 2.0 will have a slightly end loaded swing weight. We would recommend the Marucci CAT 6 model for contact hitters because of the well balanced design.
John
Which bat is better overall: this or the DeMarini CF7? jo base
Both the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the DeMarini CF7 are solid choices to go with. Ultimately, it will come down to a few things: alloy vs. composite and also a one-piece vs. a two-piece bat. Alloy bats, like the CAT 6, are best right out of the wrapper. They will not require a break in but performance will taper off the more the bat is used. Composite bats, like the CF7, require a break in before a bat will see its top performance. Once a composite bat is broken in, it will continue to get more responsive over time the more a bat is used. Lastly, a contact hitter will usually prefer a two-piece design because of the flex that it allows. Two-piece bats flex during your swing, causing a whip-like action that helps the head of the bat whip forward at the moment of contact, generating more inertia and power. A power hitter will tend to prefer a one-piece bat because the one-piece design isn't as forgiving as a two-piece. Two-piece bats with a lot of flex can be a bad thing for a power hitter because it can cause loss of bat head control and a late whipping action.
Tessa
When can we expect the Cat 7 to come out ? Johnny Football
We do not have any information on the release date of the new Marucci line or if the newer version of the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will be called the Cat 7. Their new line most likely will release later in the summer but we do not have a set date.
Patrick
Is it aluminum? ray_baseball
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a one-piece aluminum bat.
Jason
Do you prefer this bat or the 2015 Rip-It BBCOR AIR Elite? Baseball
Both the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the 2015 RIP-IT AIR Elite BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503E) are nice options. The preference would come down to what you personally like between a two-piece design or a one-piece design.
Patrick
i am looking for a bat that is similar to the 2014 easton xl3. i want a one piece alluminum bat that is slightly endloaded. is this a bat that suits these needs. if its not can you give me suggested bat that is similar to the 2014 easton xl3 rob
The BBCOR model that would be most similar to the XL3 would be the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403). That bat features the one-piece alloy design as well as the same end loaded swing weight. The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is an excellent bat, however, it is the most balanced bat that Marucci manufactures, so it will not feel end loaded at all.
Tessa
Is this bat going to feel lighter or heavier than it really is? t4
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is fairly true to weight. It is balanced so it will have a light swing compared to a bat of the same weight that is more end-loaded.
Patrick
I am 5'5" and about 120 pounds. What size should I get? Dinger hitter
For your size we would suggest a 31" in the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614).
Allison
Is the Marucci CAT 6 composite at all, or is it just aluminum? charlie jackson
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is fully aluminum and does not feature any composite.
Jason
I was wondering what size bat I should use if I am 5 foot 2 inches tall? Creator of Dingers
What size you would need of the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) would be based off of the combination of both height and weight. If you could provide your weight, we could more accurately size you.
Patrick
I am starting 60/90 in the fall and I need a good size that can last 2 years. As of now im around 5'4" and 120 lbs. What is the best size for me? Liam Biaz
Based on your current height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614). However, a 32" model might be better for you if you are looking to get a couple of years out of the bat and want to grow into it.
Jason
I am 5 foot 10 inches and 140 pounds. What size bat should I get? Tom
Based on your height and weight I recommend getting the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) in a 32 inch.
Frankie
I'm 5'6 and weigh 130. Would you recommend a 31" or a 32"? Zach Holcomb
We would recommend a 31" in the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) for a player with your height and weight.
John
Does it break? billy
Given the nature of the game, any bat we sell can break in some instances. The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) has above average durability but does have the potential to break given how it is used. That is why there is a 12 month warranty on the product to cover replacement if damage does occur.
Patrick
I'm 5'8" and 130 lbs. What length should I get? If I'm a line drive hitter who hits doubles do you recommend this bat or the Voodoo Overlord? JJ Dinger
We would recommend the 31" in the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) for a player with your height and weight. Both the CAT 6 and the DeMarini Voodoo Overlord are high performing models. The CAT 6 will be ideal for you due to the balanced swing weight.
John
I am 5 foot 8 inches and weigh about 190 pounds. I am a power hitter and I am wondering what size would be good for me? Also, is this bat suitable for a power hitter? Is another model more suitable? Willjum
This 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) would definitely be a suitable option for a power hitter and should work well. Based on height and weight, we would recommend a 32 inch size.
Patrick
What bat would you recommend for someone who is 5 foot 3 and weighs 110 pounds and is a freshman contact hitter that hits towards the top of the line up? Peyton Roy
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) would be a very nice option for what you are looking for. We would recommend a 30 inch size.
Patrick
If I am 6 feet tall and weigh 180 pounds, what size bat should I use? Court
Based on height and weight, we would recommend a 33 inch size of the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614).
Patrick
I was wondering if I could use the bat in 13u tournaments? Joseph
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) has BBCOR certification which should make it legal for any tournaments at that age but if you are unsure, it would be best to check with a coach or tournament official.
Patrick
Does this bat come in a drop 5? And if it does, is it BBCOR approved? If not, what is comparable? Geo
The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is produced in a -5 model. That bat is the MSBC65, and you can find it here: http://goo.gl/AQlvXw. However, one of the requirements for a bat to become BBCOR Certified is that it cannot have a length to weight ratio greater than -3. So, no -5 models are BBCOR certified.
Mac
Which one is better the Cat 6 or Cat 5? Edgar
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the Marucci CAT 5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCB2) will be extremely similar by design. Their would not be a big performance difference between the two.
Patrick
Is the Cat 5 legal for Junior? mark14huf
The 31 inch and 32 inch sizes of the Marucci CAT 5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCB2) are BBCOR certified and would be legal for play. but the 33 inch and 34 inch would not due to previously being recalled. All sizes of the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) are legal for play.
Patrick
My son is a College player, I want to get him this bat but he is undecided on the size. He is 5'6 weights 180 pounds and he is looking for a lot of bat speed, and he is a power hitter to. What would you recommend? He is facing pitchers at 90-93 fastball which would help the most in that case? Keeping in mind Power and A lot of bat speed! Appreciate your help. Thanks #1 baseball
I would suggest your son use a 33" 30 oz. Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614). A 32" CAT 6 would certainly help bat speed but unless he crowds the plate he may run into plate coverage issues with the smaller length.
Cameron
Is it normal for you to hear a ping sound when hitting the ball?4 Any input would be great. Thank you Gary
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is an alloy bat and will make a "ping" sound on contact so this is a normal sound.
Cameron
This bat looks like one of the best bats in the market based on it's reviews and all my research. Also, it seems that it's exactly what I'm looking for. Can I trust buying this bat online without feeling and swinging the bat first, or should I go to a local store and look at it myself? Jimmy
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a great bat if you are looking for a one-piece alloy design with a balanced swing feel. You can go to a local sporting goods store to get a feel for the bat if you wish. With this bat we wouldn't be able to take it back for an exchange or refund if it was used but you could always keep the plastic on the barrel and use tennis balls or whiffle balls to take soft toss or dry swings would work as well.
Cameron
How long is the break-in period and are there any special things I should know? catching baseball
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is fully aluminum and it does not require any break-in time. It is hot right out of the wrapper. It is best for the bat if you avoid using it in the batting cages with the yellow dimpled cage balls.
Jason
Is this bat as balanced as the Vexxum NVS? lg678
While the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a balanced model, the 2016 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVXC) would have a bit more balanced feel.
Patrick
What year is this model ? marco
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 was released in 2014 but is a 2015 model.
John
Is the CAT 6 drop 5 a legal bat for the Babe Ruth 13-15 year old division? Steve

Cameron
Is this bat okay for 11u USSSA? meghan
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) would be best suited for someone in high school or college as it will be a drop 3. We would recommend looking into a drop 8 youth big barrel bat such as the Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC68).
Cameron
Is there any way to demo this bat by chance? Andrew15
Unfortunately, here at Just Bats, we do not have the option to demo the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614.
John
I'm 5'10 185lbs. What size do you recommend for this bat? My current bat is the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum NVS in a 32" and it's beginning to feel a little light. Would this bat have a heavier swing weight if I got it in the same size or should I go up a size? ti boys
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 33" Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614. Both the Marucci CAT 6 and the DeMarini Vexxum will feature a balanced weight distribution so if you were to get the CAT 6 in the same size it would have a comparable swing weight.
John
I'm 5'7 150. I'm unsure whether I should go with a size 31 or 32 in the Cat 6. What would you recommend? Also I'm going from an XL1 which is very end loaded to the Cat 6 which I hear is balanced. Will the Cat 6 feel light compared to the XL1? Thanks dingers for dayz
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend going with the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 in a 33 inch 30 oz model. The Cat 6 should feel more balanced and lighter than the XL1 since it was an end-loaded swing weight.
Cameron
What is the barrel size on this Marruci Cat 6? Daryl
This Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will have a 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
Ben
I am 5'10" and 120lbs. What size Marruci CAT 6 should I get? Jetter
Based off of your height and weight I would recommend either a 31" or a 32" in the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614.
Cooper
I'm 5'3 weighing 165. What's better for me, a CAT 6 or an Easton XL series? Vince
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 will be a balanced bat while the Easton XL series will feature an end-loaded swing weight. Depending on what you prefer would dictate which bat would be the best for you. Typically, an end-loaded swing weight bat would be best for a power type hitter as the end-loaded swing weight can cause the top hand to drop and cause reduced bat speed through barrel lag.
Cameron
I am 6 foot 1 and 210 pounds but only 13 years old. What size would be recommended? Tammo
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 33" Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614.
John P
My son is a 6'0, 170 pound HS senior. What size bat would you recommend? 33? Bballer

Cameron
I am 5'8", 150 pound HS Junior. Would you recommend this bat for me? Not a power hitter. If so, what size? 32 in? ATM24
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is a great bat for someone who is more of a contact hitter. The one-piece alloy design with the balanced swing weight make this bat a great fit. As for the size, we would recommend getting the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 in a 32 inch 29 ounce model based on your height and weight.
Cameron
Is this bat top heavy? adam szerlag
No, the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is a balanced model.
Cooper
I'm trying to decide between the Cat 6 and the Rawlings 5150 for this season. I'm a power hitter that also hits gap to gap. I used the Cat 6 last season and loved it as much as any bat I've ever used, but I used the 2013 Rawlings 5150 and loved it as well. Didn't know whether to get the new 5150 and use my old Cat 6 if I didn't like it or if to just get the Cat 6 again. pj lanham
Both the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and the 2016 Rawlings 5150 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBR53 are very good bats and similar; both are one-piece alloy designed bats with a balanced swing weight. With that said, if you had success with the Cat 6 we would suggest continuing using that bat.
Cameron
Is this bat good for power hitters? dinger
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is a good option for power and contact hitters. The one-piece alloy design with balanced swing weight makes it a good bat regardless of the type of hitter one is. Typically, power hitters will prefer the one-piece design with an end-loaded swing weight.
Cameron
Difference between 2015 and 2016 BBCOR MODEL (32/29)? Art
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and the Marucci CAT 5 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCB2 are essentially the same bat. They made cosmetic changes and this would represent the major difference. The alloy material is going to be the same and both will feature their patented anti-vibration technology.
Cameron
Is the MCBC614 USSSA approved? jbaseball
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is BBCOR Certified and will not feature the USSSA BPF 1.15 Certification.
John P.
I bought the CAT 6 last year. How do I know if it's still hot? It still hits good but when I hit the handle on the ground it has a dead sound? Jogn
We do not recommend hitting the handle of the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 on the ground as that will increase its' chances of becoming defective. If you do think that your bat has become defective, this particular CAT 6 does come with a full twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty.
John P.
I love the Marucci Black ONE . How will this bat be the same & how will this one be different? tk
Both the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and the Marucci ONE BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCB1 Black will be one-piece alloy designs, with balanced swing weights that will feature AZ3000 alloy. Main difference is the optimized barrel-end wall thickness for faster swing speeds that the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 will feature.
Cameron
I am 6' and 170 lbs. What size would you prefer? gang
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 33" model in the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614.
Jason
Will the 2016 velo swing any differently than the cat six, which is faster, which has a larger sweet spot? Sloane
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 has optimized barrel wall thickness that allows for faster swing speeds. The 2016 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRV3 features pOp 2.0 technology that creates additional barrel flex and a larger sweet spot.
Angelique
I am 5'10, 130. Should I get the 31in or the 32in. Thanks Jake
Based on your height and weight, I would actually recommend a 33" bat. However, I would recommend using a 32" bat between those two options, if the 33" is too big of a jump in size.
Nick
How big is the barrel? grant88
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter.
Marcus
Has the CAT 6 BBCOR been updated for 2016? Mike
This Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will be the same model released in the fall of 2014 for the 2015 season. No changes have been made to the bat.
Ben
I am a 5'2", 105 lb 12 year old that is transitioning to Modified baseball in the spring. Would you recommend the 31 inch 28 ounce CAT 6 Marucci bat? Chris
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614.
Jason

John P.
My son is a 6'3" high school freshman who weighs 185. What size would you recommend? Dad
Based on your son's height and weight, I would recommend that he swing a 34" bat.
Nick
Should I not use this bat when it is below a certain degrees outside? If so, when should I not use it? Seaburger
We recommend not using your game bat in temperatures below 50 degrees. In temperatures below 50 degrees the ball becomes harder and can cause more stress on the bat which increases the chance of the bat denting or cracking.
John
I'm a 5'6" 160 lbs sophomore. What length do you recommend and when I swing I let go with my top hand will I have problems with that with this bat? Stephen
For your height and weight, we recommend a 32" length bat. I don't anticipate this bat causing any issues when you let go with your top hand.
Angelique

Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 33" Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614.
John P.
My son is 5'7", 130 pounds. What length and weight do you suggest? arne
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of a 31" model of this Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614). As long as your player can handle the 28 oz weight of the 31" length of this bat, that size option should be great for them!
Ben
Will this bat have as much pop as newer bats such as the Demarini Voodoo Raw? drewwestenhoff
Yes, the Marucci Cat 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 will feature very good pop and will compare well with any bat on the market.
Nick
This bat is banned in Indiana and I just bought it and have been using it. Should I call Marucci or no? Cfee_3
The Marucci Cat 5 was added to the banned list back in 2012 in the 33 and 34 inch models. As for the Marucci Cat 6, this bat has not been added to the NCAA banned bat list. We would recommend checking as to why this bat is not allowed.
Cameron
I am a 5'10" 230 pound senior. I'm used to using the 2013 VELO and want to upgrade. Until last year I was more of a power hitter and I'm trying to work on bat speed. Would the CAT 6 be good for me? If so, what size? Big Smooth
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is an excellent option for increasing your bat speed. It is extremely balanced and light swinging. Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 33" model.
Jason
Looking to buy a CAT 6 for my grandson for select ball. He is 10 years old, 4'11", and 125 pounds. What size bat would you recommend? Kooper
Based upon your grandson's height and weight, I would recommend using a 30" Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614. I would verify that your 10 year old grandson needs a BBCOR baseball bat as these bats are typically meant for high school and collegiate level players.
John P.
I'm 12 years old and about 5'0" and 140 lbs. As well, I'm a power hitter. Is the CAT 6 for me? d
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend this Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) in the 31" length. As long as you can handle the 28 oz weight of the 31" model of this bat, I would recommend that size option for you!
Ben
I am 15 years old, 5'0", and 110 pounds what bat size should I get? cameron
I would suggest a 30" bat length. Unfortunately the smallest size we have in the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is going to be 31". If you want to stick with a 30" I might suggest either the 2016 Rawlings 5150 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBR53) or the 2016 Easton Z-CORE HMX BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB16Z). Both of these bats are similar to the Marucci CAT 6.
Jake
I am going to buy a CAT 6 but do not know what size. I am 5'7" and 175 pounds. Gage
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 32" Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614.
John P.
I am having a hard time choosing between the new Easton 2016 MAKO and the Marucci CAT 6. Which would be a better bat for me? I am a freshman in high school. I am about 5'8 and 240 pounds. I can be a power hitter but I'm more of a contact guy. Which would be best? Andrew A
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 33" Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614. This CAT 6 is a one-piece alloy design that features a balanced swing weight which would be ideal for someone who is both a power and a contact hitter.
John P.
I am 5'9" and 130lbs. What size should i get? Nathan
Based on your height and weight, I would recommend that you swing a 33" length.
Nick
I am 5'7" and 139 lbs. What size would you recommend? Would you recommend this bat? aaron
Based on your height and weight, we suggest 32" model in the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614. The CAT 6 is an excellent option for any hitter and it is absolutely recommended.
Jason
What wood bat turn model would be most like the CAT 6? ethan
The two wood bat turn models that will be most similar to the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 would be the 13 & 243 turn models.
Cameron
I'm a 5'4" 110 pound freshman in high school. I'm a scrappy base hit kind of hitter and I bat lead-off! Would you recommend this bat? If so, what size? baseballer0703
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 30" Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614. I would absolutely recommend this particular Marucci model as it is an extremely popular one-piece, aluminum design with a balanced swing weight.
John P.
I am more of a contact hitter, but i was looking for a bat with a little bit more power. I was deciding between the CAT 6 and the DeMarini CF7. Which bat would you recommend for me? J.P
Both this Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the CF7 will be balanced swinging bats. However, this CAT 6 does come with a single-piece design. That design allows the bat to be stiff at contact. A lot of times, players that want more power prefer the single-piece bats because they feel that the stiffness at contact allows all their power to be transferred to the ball. My suggestion for you would be this CAT 6.
Ben
Is the CAT 6 good for power hitters? J.P
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is a one-piece alloy construction which is ideal for a power hitter.
John P.
Which is better: the CAT 6 or the CF8? my name jeff
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and the DeMarini CF8 are both great bats to consider; these two bats though are polar opposites in design. The Marucci Cat 6 will be a one-piece fully alloy bat with a balanced swing weight while the DeMarini CF8 will be a two-piece fully composite bat with a balanced swing weight. The CF8 will reduce vibration more and can perform slightly better in warmer weather (70+ degrees Fahrenheit) while the Cat 6 will hold up better in colder weather and can produce slightly more power (being a one-piece bat, it does not flex as much on impact but one will feel more vibration from off-center hits). Composite bats will require a break-in period (CF8) before being game ready while an alloy bat (Cat 6) will be ready to go out of the wrapper. These two bats will sound different as well. The Cat 6 will produce the typically "ping" sound while the CF8 will sound more like a wood bat.
Cameron
Does the new CAT 6 have the end ring that sometimes needs tapping? olebhawg
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 features a ring-free barrel for maximum performance.

I'm 15 and I'm a power hitter. I'm looking for a bat under 300 dollars. What would be a good one for me? kp
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is a one-piece aluminum design that would be ideal for a power hitter.
John P.
Other than the material, how will the ATt 6 compare to the 2015 Easton XL1? richard
This Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will differ greatly from an XL1 model. This CAT 6 is a single-piece model and the XL1 is a two-piece model. As well, this CAT 6 comes with a balanced swing weight while the XL1 is end-loaded. There will not be too many things that compare between these two options of bats.
Ben
I'm 5'10" and about 140 lbs. I narrowed my bat selection down to the 32"/29 oz Marucci CAT 6 and the 31"/28 oz Voodoo RAW. I like the feel of both of them, but don't know which one to pick. How would you decide? Nick Carp
Based upon your height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of going with a BBCOR .50 bat in the 32" length. When deciding between this Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the Voodoo RAW, I would make the decision based off the weighting that you prefer most in a bat. If you like a balanced weighting in a bat, I would recommend this CAT 6. However, if you prefer an end-load, go for the Voodoo RAW.
Ben
I am about 6 foot 155 pounds what bat/size would you recommend for me? dan
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 in a 33 inch 30 ounce model.
Cameron

John P.

Cameron
How do I break-in my new bat? Should I take it to the batting cages? X
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 does not require a break-in period. It is a fully aluminum design and it is hot out of the wrapper. It is best to avoid batting cages that use the yellow dimpled cage balls.
Jason
I am 5'9 - 5'11 and weigh 155 pounds. What size should I use? john
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 32" Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614.

Ben
I will be 15 years old in June. I'm 5'8" and weigh 135 lbs. What size bat should I get? I had a CF7 last year. Luke

Angelique
i just bought the cat 6. and inwas wondering about how many swings do i need to take to break in the bat jordan d
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 will come "hot out of the wrapper" and will not require a break-in period.
Nick
I am a contact hitter looking for a bat that is balanced and has a lot of pop in it. I was deciding between the CAT 6 and the 2016 Rawlings VELO. Which bat do you prefer? J.P
Both the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and the 2016 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRV3 will offer a balanced swing weight and are highly reviewed in the pop category. There really is no bad choice between these two bats, especially for a contact hitter.
John P.
My grandson is a 12 year old power hitter. He is 5'6" and 150 lbs (he will be playing middle school ball next year). Any difference between the Marucci CAT 6 and the VELO for a power hitter? papa
Based upon your player's height and weight, my general length suggestion for a BBCOR .50 baseball bat would be a 32" option. As long as you feel that your player can handle the 29 oz weight of a 32" BBCOR .50 bat, I would recommend that size for your player. Both of this CAT 6 and the VELO are probably two of the top single-piece, all-alloy bats available on the market right now. As well, both bats display an excellent balanced feel. I would recommend getting this CAT 6 for your power hitter as it has been on the market for almost 2 years now and the consistency of performance that the bat has displayed has been very impressive. I think that your player would like it a lot if you went with this bat.
Ben
Which bat is more balanced: CAT 6 or Prime 916? StanDC
Both the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and the 2016 Louisville Slugger Prime 916 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBP9163 are balanced bats but would give a slight edge to the Prime 916.
Cameron
I am 5'6" and 130 lbs. What size bat would you recommend? joe
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614.
Jason
Would this bat work for a 6'3 220 lbs. power hitter? Turbo
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is a one-piece aluminum design which would be ideal for a 6'3", 220 pound power hitter.
John P.
I'm 5'4 145 and 13 years old what size should I get (I'm getting a new bat for the season that starts next year ) Josh

Nick
What size would I need? I'm 5'8 and I weigh 120 pounds. Ty Cobb

John P.
I am 5'3" and 125 pounds. What size should I swing? payton w.
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614.
Jason
Is this allowed in high school play? Dan
Yes, the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is BBCOR approved so it will be allowed in high school and college play.
John
About how long does this bat take to be fully broken in? aj
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is a one piece full alloy bat so there is not break in period required. This bat will be ready to use out of the wrapper.
Cooper
I am 5'11" and 172 lbs. What size do you recommend? baller03
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend a 33" option of this Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614). As long as you feel you can effectively handle the 30 oz weight of the 33" option of the bat, I would recommend that size.
Ben
Is there a required temperature for the CAT 6? russ
Here at JustBats, we recommend not using the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 in temperatures below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
John P.
I'm a contact hitter but I'm trying to work on power. I'm deciding between the Cat 6 and the Select 716. I mainly want a bat that has good pop but almost no shock. Which bat would you suggest? johnny vaseak
Typically, contact hitters will prefer a balanced bat. Both of these bats are listed as balanced bats but the Select 716 from LS will feel slightly more end-loaded. As for something that will reduce vibration/shock, you will find that a two-piece bat will be better equipped to do this as these bats will flex on impact. For power, there is really not one BBCOR bat that will provide more than another. An end-loaded bat can help increase power slightly but for someone that is more of a contact hitter it may not be the best fit. As for the bat to get, the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614, all things consider, is a better all-around fit.
Cameron
I'm 5'2", 105 pounds and I want to get a 32 inch 28 ounce bat that I can grow into. Would that be a fine size? Also, how big is the sweet spot on the CAT 6? johny
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 in a 30 inch 27 ounce model. Going to a 32 inch bat will more than likely be too big and require shortening up on the handle to gain better control of the barrel head. The sweet spot is going to be comparable to other one-piece alloy designed bats with balanced swing weights.
Cameron
How much pop does this bat have compared to other high-end bats? jajak
This Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) has received a lot of excellent reviews here at JustBats. Based upon those reviews, I would have to say that the "pop" (performance displayed off this bat) is on the same level as other high-end bats.
Ben
Is this a power hitters bat or contact hitter? Suh3
Typically power hitters prefer single piece bats rather than two piece bats. This Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a single piece alloy bat and is typically preferred by power hitters.
Carter
I'm 5' 8" and 120 lbs, and a contact hitter. I want a bat I can grow into, is a 32" too big? sbob21
Based on your height and weight I think a 32" Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) would be a good option for you if you are looking for something to grow into.
Jake
I'm 5'5" and about 180 lbs. What length do you recommend? j3
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 in a 32 inch 29 ounce model.
Cameron
I am a 5'6" sophomore. I weigh 115 ponds. What size bat would you recommend I use? Cdog
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614.
Jason
What would be the key differences between this and the Easton Z-Core Speed Whiteout? marv
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and the Easton Whiteout will be similar in the sense that they are both one-piece fully alloy constructions. The main differences is going to be the cosmetics as well as they features. This CAT 6 is going to feature the anti-vibration knob which helps eliminate sting while the Whiteout features the Z-CORE Internal Technology which provides an extended barrel for a huge sweet spot. Both models are excellent bats that will have their own unique features.
John P.
Would you recommend this bat to a contact hitter looking for a fast swinging bat? tommy stewart
This Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) has a balanced swing weight which will give the bat the ability to be swung very fast by contact hitters.
Ben
How does this bat compare with a Louisville Slugger. What size bat would you recommend for me? I'm 5'11" and 180 lbs. Frank
Both the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and the LS Omaha 516 would be comparable bats. Both of these bats are one-piece alloy designed bats with balanced swing weights. The Cat 6 will probably feel slightly more end-loaded when compared to the Omaha 516. Each of these bats have shown good durability. Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 in a 33 inch 30 ounce model.
Cameron
Does the CAT 6 have a thick handle? Deight
The handle diameter of the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is similar to other BBCOR models. The taper of the grip tape in conjunction with where it meets the knob may be a little thicker but this is an easy fix with an after market grip tape if that is more to the player's liking.
Cameron
What is the difference of the length in the barrel between a Marucci CAT 6 and new Easton Mako? Baseball CC
The barrel lengths on this Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the 2016 MAKO BBCOR (BB16MK) will be pretty similar. I will give the slight edge to the MAKO, but I think that overall the lengths will be pretty similar and that will allow for a similar sized sweet spot on both bats.
Ben
I am considering getting the CAT 6. I am going into high school and need a BBCOR. I am a contact hitter. Is this bat right for me? Edame
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is a one-piece fully alloy bat with a balanced swing weight and would be a great option for a contact hitter.
Cameron
im 5'4 130lbs im a power hitter would the Rawlings velo or the Marucci CAT 6 be a better bat for me Chris
Both the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the 2016 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRV3) are going to be very similar in the fact that they are both one piece alloy bats. Typically one piece bats are preferred by power hitters. Either one of these two bats would be a great option for you.
Carter
which would be better for a power hitter the Marucci CAT 6 or the Marucci black ops? chris
Both the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and the Marucci Black OPS BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBRTBK are great options for power hitters. The Cat 6 has been the more popular option of the two and is the more high end model.
Carter
im 13 and i normally swim a 32 28 but would it make a difference to go up to the 32 29? James
Typically bats do not come in a 32" 28 oz but if you were to just go up one once it should not make a huge difference. I think you should be able to get away with an extra once. If it feels too heavy for you I would recommend getting an inch shorter.
Carter
Which is better for a power hitter, a Marucci CAT 6 or a Rip-It Helium bat? my name is jeff
Both the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and the RIP-IT Helium would be good bats to consider for a power hitter. Would give an edge to the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 as this bat seems to have less durability issues compared to the RIP-IT Helium per customer reviews.
Cameron
I am 5'6" and I weigh 150 lbs. What size of bat would you recommend for me? I am a power hitter. Jb19
Based on your height and weight I would recommend a 32" or 33" Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614).

Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" model in the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614.
Jason
I am 5'10" and 200 lbs. I am 14 years old and a power hitter. What size bat should I be swinging? JM

Jason

Cameron
My son is going into 14U this fall. He is 13.5 years old, 5'4" and 125 lbs. In two years, he will be in high school and has to use a drop 3. Do you recommend going drop 5 and then drop 3 or straight to drop 3? What length do you recommend? I'm looking at the Cat 6/7, but curious how it compares to the Voodoo Raw? Which other bats do you suggest we consider? Do you have a specific recommendation? brent
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting a 31 inch Youth Big Barrel/Senior League bat. The weight of the bat should be 23 ounces if going into 7th grade and 26 ounces if going into 8th grade. This will make the transition easier going into high school and the BBCOR area. As far as the bat to look into, there are many great options currently on the market. The Marucci CAT 6 and CAT 7 will be balanced while the DeMarini Voodoo RAW will be end-loaded. An end-loaded bat like the RAW would be better suited for a power type hitter typically. To select the correct bat, the questions one should ask would be: Do I prefer a balanced or end-loaded bat?, Do I prefer composite or alloy barrels?, and Do I prefer a two-piece or one-piece bat? Once you are able to figure the preference then it becomes much easier to whittle down the field and select the best bat for your needs and personal preferences.
Cameron
(1) I'm 13 years old and just about 5'6 and 120 pounds. What size should I be looking for? (2) Also, should I be looking for a drop 5 or BBCOR bat? Carter
(1) Based upon your height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting this Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) in the 31" length. As long as you feel you can handle the 28 oz weight of the 31" option of this bat, I would recommend this Cat 6 in that size. (2) If you are looking to use what will be needed for high school or are already required to swing a BBCOR bat, then I would definitely recommend a BBCOR bat like this CAT 6 (MCBC614). However, if you still need to work up to the BBCOR bats, a -5 model would be best.
Ben
Is there a drop 5 version of the CAT 6? CS
Marucci did not manufacturer the CAT 6 in a drop 5 model.
Cameron
What is BBCOR? Can this bat be used in Pony League? jr
BBCOR bats are typically used in high school and collegiate play and feature a 2 5/8" barrel diameter with a -3 length to weight ratio. If you are playing in the Colt or Palomino divisions of Pony League, you can use the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614. If you are playing in a younger age group, you will want to use a USSSA certified bat.
Angelique
Would this bat be a viable option as a cheaper Cat 7? tanky90
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) is a great alternative to the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC7). The Cat 6 was actually one of the highest rated bats ever on JustBats.com and is a great option for a cheaper price.
Carter
I am trying to decide between the cat 6 or the velo 2016 model is there anything that stands out between either of the 2 bats that would them better than the other? jack
Both the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) and the 2016 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRV3) are going to be very similar. I would say that if the loudness of the Velo would bother you to go with the Cat 6. But other than that they are both going to be very similar bats. Both are them also have great reviews. The Marucci Cat 6 is actually a little cheaper right now. That is another thing to keep in mind.
Carter
What's the difference between the Cat 6 and the Cat 7? Scott
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) features the AZ3000 alloy. The Marucci CAT 7 features the new AZ4X Alloy and will have a slightly larger sweet spot compared to the CAT 6.
Jake
I'm 5'6", 155 lbs and more of a contact hitter. I've been swinging a 31/28, what size should i move up to? natehunt
I would recommend moving up to a 32" model if you are wanting to use a longer bat.
Kyle J.
What's the difference between the Marucci CAT6 and Marucci Elite Limited? The kid
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is a one piece full alloy design compared te the Marucci Elite Limited which is a two piece half and half design.
Cooper
Can this bat be used in 11u select baseball? Jim
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is a bat better suited for high school and college age players and would more than likely be too heavy for a player participating in 11U.
Cameron
I bought this bat for a cheap price from someone and when I first used it I hit bombs (seemed like it would be illegal). My friend was surprised at how hard I was hitting the ball. He said that the bat must be illegal. Is this bat really banned from high school and college? cristian nunez
This Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) has not been banned from high school or college play. There may be a possibility that your friend is getting his Marucci CAT bats mixed-up. The 33" and 34" sizes of the CAT *5* (the CAT 6's predecessor) were banned from play back in the 2012 season.
Ben
son is a 6'0" 140 pound, high school freshman contact hitter. a 32 or 33" Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR? John
Based on your player's height and weight, we would suggest the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 in a 33" model.
Logan
Son is a seventh grader (13) must have a bbcor drop 3. He is 5 ft. 3" and 120 pounds. What bat would you suggest? Thanks Jorski
Based on your player's size, we would suggest a 30" BBCOR bat. Unfortunately, there is not any 30" Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 in stock, so I would suggest taking a look at the 2017 Marucci CAT 7 BBCOR.
Logan
My son is 14 weighs 120lbs and is 5'4". Last year he played with a Demarini 31 drop 8. Would a 33" drop 3 be too big for him right now? Thanks Scott
At his size, if he is required to swing a BBCOR certified bat, I would suggest a smaller size, such as a 31" 28oz Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614.
Logan
My son is 10 and 4'9" and 75 lbs. What size and weight bat do you recommend for him? Major
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting a 30 inch model. As for the weight to get this will be determined by the weight of their current bat and how well they have been able to swing this bat.
Cameron
My son is 14 and 6'1" 165 lbs, what size of bat should he use for middle school? miller48
If he is required to us a BBCOR certified bat, such as the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614, then I would suggest a 33" 30 oz. size. If he is not required to swing a -3 bat yet, I would suggest a -5, 33" 28 oz.
Logan
I ordered about a year ago. I've noticed that it has always been heavy and checked it with someone's CAT 6 and feels way heavier. Can I return it because it has been affecting me quite a bit. Baller99
Unfortunately the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 would not be eligible for return if the bat has already been used. If the bat has become defective it would be covered under the manufacturer's warranty if the purchase was within the last 12 months.
Cameron
My Cat 6 33" is more than 30 oz. What should I do? baseballperson123
You can send it back to us for a full Refund/Exchange if you would like. Click the "Returns" button on the top right corner of the page for more info. However, a lot of bats will weight slightly more than their listed weight, as manufacturers often weigh them before finishing touches are added such as glue, paint, etc.
Kyle J.
My grandson is 13 yrs old and in middle school. Which bat should I buy and how do I measure him for it? Chance
If your grandson is being required to use BBCOR .50 bats for use in his league, this Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) would be a great bat to consider for use. I would recommend putting his height and weight information into the "Bat Coach" application on our home page (be sure and specify that you are wanting a BBCOR bat). You will be able to get a length suggestion for use.
Ben
My son is almost 6 foot and about 225 pounds. He is a sophomore on varsity high school team and he hits mostly line drives or warning track power. What would be the best 2016 model year bat? Jeremy21
Based on your players height and weight, we would suggest a 33" model It is tough to say that one bat is really the best out there, but the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is certainly one of the best and would be a great option for your players style.
Jason
Is this bat as good as other people say and does it have a lot of pop? Shafer
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is a very good bat and received high marks and praises from those that have used the bat (durability and performance). Pop is always one of personal opinion but most would agree that this bat performs well.
Cameron

Tori
Is it okay to hit with the CAT 6 using the yellow cage balls or is it not good for the bat? ehall
I would recommend against using this Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) with yellow cage balls. Those yellow cage balls are denser than regular baseballs and have the ability to damage the barrel of the bat.
Ben

Jason
How does this bat compare to the Easton Z-Core Speed BBCOR bat? Evan
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and the 2017 Easton Z-CORE Speed BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB17ZS are very similar bats. Both are one piece alloy bats with a well balanced swing weight, so it would come down to player preference on which bat to go with.
Logan
I just got a used Cat 6 from online, it looks well taken care of and was only used for 1 season. Obviously you wouldn't be able to give me a 100% accurate answer, but on average how long do these bats usually last before they start to lose pop and wear down? Kameron
Generally, most customers can probably expect 1-3 seasons out of a new bat that they purchase, assuming good care is taken and depending on how often they play/practice each year.
Kyle J.
My grip tape is starting to wear down on my bat and I love the tape that comes on it. I know its the Marucci tape but do you know what size grip tape comes on this bat when you first get it? Kam
The grip tape on the Cat 6 BBCOR (MCBC614) is of the thicker variety, which is generally tape listed as 1.8mm in diameter if you are looking to buy a third-part replacement.
Kyle J.
I bought my CAT 6 this year and love it, but the plastic piece in the knob fell out. Is there a warranty that covers the bat? Drew

The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is a drop -3. All BBCOR standard bats are drop -3 with 2 5/8" barrel diameters.
Trevor
My grandson is in middle school, he's 5'8" and 120 lbs. What length should he swing for the Cat 6? chick durbin
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest a 31" Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614.

Is this better than the Prime 917 or no? bacon baseball
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 has been a well rated bat and would stack up favorably with the LS Prime 917. This bat will differ in that it is a one-piece alloy while the Prime 917 is a two-piece composite.
Cameron
Do you recommend the Prime 917 or CAT 6 for a big lefty with power? bacon sauage
For a power hitter both the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and the Prime 917 from LS would be great options. The CAT 6 is a one-piece bat though and this may help increase a player's power potential ever so slightly.
Cameron
Is the CAT 7 worth $100 extra? ob
I believe that there are some characteristics of the CAT 7 that are improvements over what is offered on the CAT 6 (larger sweet spot and updated alloy on the Cat 7). However, if you wish to save money and still get an excellently rated bat, the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat [MCBC614] is an great option of bat to choose.
Ben
How many hits does it usually take to brake in the bat? Daddy Crowder
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is an alloy bat which does not require a break-in period. These bats are 'hot out of the wrapper' and can be used in a game right away.

Is there a recommended temperature to hit with the CAT 6? Trevor
It really isn't ideal to hit with the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 in temperatures below 60 degrees. With that being said, games do have to be played in those temperatures, you would just want to limit the use of a bat as much as possible in that type of weather.
Logan

The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 will feature the BBCOR certification only. Marucci does not currently make any USA approved models. As well, there are not going to be any BBCOR models that feature a USA stamp.

My son is a high school sophomore, 6'3" and 220 lbs. What size would you recommend (he is fairly big and strong) and are the largest size legal for HS? don
Based on your son's height and weight, would recommend getting the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 in either a 33 or 34 inch model; whatever size the player feels more comfortable with.
Cameron
I'm 5'9", power contact hitter, what size would be good for me? And are there other bats you would recommend? Garrett
Without knowing your weight it would be hard to recommend a size unfortunately. I would most likely recommend a 32"/29 ounce Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614.
Carter

If I couldn't decide between CAT 6 and CAT 7, could I just order both, feel them and return one of them? If so, could I hit the balls but keep the barrel clean? Bdee
Both the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and CAT 7 BBCOR bats are top of the line BBCOR models. Marucci changed up the alloy being used in the CAT 7 models giving this bat a slight edge in overall balanced feel. If unsure which one to get, you could essentially order both and take dry swings with them and leave the plastic on the barrel. Unfortunately you would not be able to hit with either, regardless of how clean the barrel is, and then return one or both if not satisfied. Marucci does not offer a trial period of any kind on the CAT lineup of bats and thus we cannot accept back a used bat for an exchange or refund.
Cameron
Why is the CAT 6 design different? It has grey marucci instead of red and has red rings around the cat 6 logo on barrel. Will the original design come back? Bdog
The color scheme on the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 was changed in the last batch we received from Marucci. Is is just a color scheme change and nothing else is different with the bat. As far as we know, this is the only color scheme we will have from now on.
Tori
I'm 5'11" tall and 140 pounds. What size would you recommend? cartter
We would recommend a 32" length for your height and weight.
Kyle J.
We just got a CAT 6 drop 3. It came with the "Marucci" name written in grey. What's the difference between the red and grey Marucci? Ian
There is no difference other than the color of the lettering. They are the same bat otherwise.
Kyle J.
My son is 13, is 5'8" tall and 135 pounds. What length bat do you recommend? Samantha
We would recommend a 31" length for your height and weight.
Kyle J.
My son is 5'6" and weighs 162 lbs. He's a power hitter currently swinging a 34" wood bat in intermediate 50/70. What size BBCOR do you recommend? CB
Based on your son's height and weight we would recommend getting the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 in a 33 inch model. If he feels comfortable using a 34 inch wood bat then there is certainly nothing wrong using that same size in a BBCOR model.
Cameron
My son is 5'10 125lbs. Not a lot of upper body strength. What bat ratio should I be purchasing? Adriana Ward
If your player is needing a BBCOR certified bat like this Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614, I would recommend a 32" 29oz. sized bat. However, if you were looking to go lighter for better overall control, the 31" 28oz. option would also be suitable.
Tyler
My son is 14, 5"7' and 140 pounds. What size bat do you recommend for him? Thanks. Johnny
I would recommend a 32'' 29 oz in a Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 for your son.
Max
Recommendation: 4'11"; 76lbs. What size bat should I be looking for? Billy
I would recommend going with a 31'' but more like a -10. The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 could be a bit too heavy for him now.
Max
My grandson is 16 years old. 6'2" and weighs 160 lbs. What size bat would you recommend and I am assuming it should be drop 3. He just tried out for a national team and made the roster. Are there any restrictions on wood bats? Jo
Based upon your grandson's height and weight I would recommend swinging a 33'' 30oz in the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614. As far as wood bat models I would take a look at the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat: AP5NB Adult, which will be a premier wood baseball bat.
Max

The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 is the updated model of the CAT 5, which was the first model in the CAT series and now there is a CAT 8 which has the most upgraded alloy.

Why does this have grey Marucci writing, while the old ones have red? I’m thinking about getting this bat and just wondering. Big Al
Marucci change the color as they continued to produce the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614. It did not change anything as far as performance or composition. It is just a color change.
Tori
Can the knob on the CAT 6 be personalized? Received order yesterday, first practice last night, another player has same bat. Need way to personalize. Sharon
Unfortunately the Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 does not feature the knob customization. A quick way to distinguish your bat from others would be to use some electrical tape on the handle.
Cameron
My bat is dead so I need a new one and I don’t want to spend a ton of money. I can’t decide between the CAT 6 or the Posey 28 model. Can you give me any help? Daniel
The Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBC614 and the Posey 28 will be very similar in that they are both one-piece alloy bats. You really can't go wrong with either one. However, I will say based on feedback, the CAT 6 has been one of our most popular bats and works for almost every style of player.
