Description

New for BBCOR made bats heavier and more difficult to swing, now Marucci's patented multimaterial barrel technology is making BBCOR bats lighter and easier to swing. Based on Marucci's experience at the highest level of the game, Marucci knows that every player can benefit from having a bat tailored to their exact swing and style. Marucci has also learned, however, that the vast majority of players perform better with the most balanced bats. This knowledge, combined with the desire to help build the best hitters in baseball, have been the driving forces behind the development of the Marucci Elite line of bats. While most of the industry was working to shave fractions of ounces from their bat designs, Marucci set out to reduce their barrel weights by over 2 ounces. Such a dramatic weight reduction was not possible with standard bat manufacturing processes, but after a year of intensive research and testing, Marucci has developed and patented such a technology and is incorporating it into their new line of Elite bats. Marucci's patented technology allows for industry best weight reductions by fusing composite and aluminum materials together along the length of the barrel. By replacing the final inches of the bat, including the endcap, with aerospace grade composite materials, Marucci is removing "dead weight" from the bat and replacing it with a highly engineered structure designed to extend the sweet spot and improve the feel of the bat, all while helping to achieve industry-best swing weights. Professional hitters understand the importance of using the best equipment, they know that any small advantage they can gain from their equipment puts them that much closer to success. Marucci's patented multimaterial barrel technology offers players the advantage of increased swing speeds and more control at the plate. Join the ranks of hitters who have learned to expect as much from their bat as they do from themselves. Professionally Inspired. Precision Crafted. Marucci Elite. The Elite is BBCOR Certified and approved for high school and collegiate play. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Best bat I've ever swung. Has great balance an a TON of pop. The ball jumps of the bat. Sounds like the old BESR bats good for gap to gap hitters and speed guys not really meant for power hitters. It is worth the money.

Pros: I bought 3 of these bats (one for me and one for each of my close friends). I am batting over 500 and have hit 3 home runs in 4 games. This bat is hot straight out of the wrapper. An amazing bat! I have the Marucci Black 2 and the Team Marucci. If you can't afford this bat, then get the black 2 for sure.

Pros: Yes i can finally write a good review about a bat! this bat has got to be one of the most balanced bats on the market, and the technology in this bat is the best in the game, by taking out all the extra stuff in the barrel it enlarged the sweetspot and made the bat more balanced, and the sound is also impressive unlike the low blunking noise made by other BBCOR bats this has a loud ping to it and to cut to the chase, it hits BOMBS! when somebody walks up to the plate with this bat you can expect a laser show.

Cons: none.

Pros: My dad got one for me (BBCOR) and one for my brother (Senior League). My brother and I both had tourneys one weekend and we both used this bat for the first time. We both homered on our first at bat with the same count. I hit mine first and 5 minutes later my dad told me my brother got one too. Really cool. My HS team won the tourney and so did my bro's. We both love this bat. These were our first Marucci's. GREAT BAT! YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!

Cons: My brother had two homers and I had one. Bragging rights stink.

Pros: If i could give this bat a 4.5, I would. Its pretty good. One of the better bats on the market considering pop, but the bat only has pop on the sweet spot. Anywhere else is a dead hit that ends up being a soft grounder to short, 3rd or the pitcher. If the hit isnt on the sweet spot, it feels so dead, and it hurts your hands.

Cons: price. It shouldnt be $400 I dont think its worth the money. If you are willing to spend $400, I would buy the S1

Not Impressed MG player

Pros: None so far.

Cons: My son has had numerous bats over the years and this one and his catalyst were by far his worse bats. No pop. This maybe due to the fact the end cap starting cracking as well as getting a crack at the end of the bat. We have sent the bat back but as stated above, my son has had dozens of bats over the years and this was the first one that was defective. We will see how fast and good Marucci warranty department is.

Pros: Overall this is a very good bat. It is very well balanced and swings nicely. Very good pop. Havent had any problems in 1 1/2 years. In warmer temps (50°F and above) this bat is unstoppable.

Cons: This is a fair weather bat. In colder temperatures (Minnesota springs 50°F and below) if you hit it off the handle or the end the vibration is unbearable. Wasn't a fan of the metal knob.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Marucci Elite BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBELI? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I'm really inbetween the Easton S1 and the Marucci Elite.. can you help make my decision any easier? ernie512
The Easton S1 and Marucci Elite are both great bats. The Easton is built on similar technology as used in previous S1 models while the Marucci is built utilizing a new and patented technology.
Tyler
When will the 34/31 version be available? baseballdad
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult 34" 31 oz are expected to arrive the first week of February. As soon as we receive the shipment in our warehouse we will update our website.
Kara
Does this bat come in any other sizes? Kenneth
Yes, but we currently only have the 33" in stock. We are getting more sizes in the near future.
Zach
Is the Elite an aluminum or composite bat? Ted
Because the Elite contains a significant percentage of composite material it goes through the same testing as composite bats and is officially classified as a composite bat.
Tommy
Most BBCOR bats claim to be balanced, how does the Elite compare to all of the other balanced BBCOR bats? Luke
The Marucci Elite utilizes a patented technology to fuse materials together in a way that no other bat manufacturer can. This allows Marucci the flexibility to make bats as light as are allowed by the BBCOR protocol.
Kara
A lot of composite bats sound dull or dead, what does the Elite sound like? James
Due to Marucci's patented multimaterial barrel technology the Elite sounds much more like an aluminum bat than a composite bat. The Elite does not ring as long as traditional aluminum bats, but you'll be surprised to see how the ball pops off the barrel and to hear the ping that goes with it.
Aubrey
Do you have to break it in? Is that standard for all bats? graysen
Due to Marucci's patented multimaterial barrel technology the Elite bats do not require any break in time, they are hot straight out of the wrapper.
John H
How balanced is this bat compared to the Rip-It Prototype BBCOR Air? Kendall
The Marucci Elite line of bats are as balanced as are allowed by the BBCOR protocol. The Rip It Air bats are well balanced too, but not to the extent of the Elite.
Tyler
I see that the Marucci Elite and the Marucci Black 2 are both two-piece, "balanced" bats, and that their barrels are made of the same alloy. Are there major differences in how differently these two bats perform? How "balanced" are they relative to each other? Jim
The Marucci Elite is the best performing Marucci model and will be a little more balanced than the Marucci Black 2. They are both two-piece bats, but the barrel on the Marucci Elite combines the AZ3000 alloy with carbon fiber to reduce the barrel weight and remove unnecessary components of traditional bat designs. The Marucci Black 2 will not have any of the carbon fiber material that is combined with the alloy in the barrel like the Marucci Elite.
Damon
Which bat would be better for a power hitter the Black 2 or Elite? Nick
The Marucci Black 2 will be a little better for a power hitter, because it is a little more end loaded than the very balanced Marucci Elite.
Noah
My son is 5'5" and probably 130 lbs. So he is a contact/gap hitter. He has been swinging the CF5 (32"/-3) which needs replacing. Thoughts on this as a replacement (or the Black 2)? Also considering the S1 and Attack. Up the Middle
If he had success with the CF5 in the past, then the DeMarini CF5 would be the top recommendation as it's proven that when a player uses the same bat they have used previously, they are more likely to have continued success and increased confidence. However, between the Marucci Elite, Marucci Black 2, Easton S1, and Louisville Slugger Attack, the S1 would be the top recommendation because it is most similar in design to the CF5.
John
Which is a better bat for a 5'10/140 lb contact hitter with occasional power? The Marucci Elite or the Easton S1? Which is more balanced? Which is better in performance? THECLUTCH23
The Marucci Elite utilizes a patented technology to fuse materials together in a way that no other bat manufacturer can. This allows Marucci the flexibility to make bats as light as allowed by the BBCOR protocol. The Elite is going to be a very popular bat this year.
Noah
I have an 11 yo 5' 101 lb son who hits well. What would you recommend for him. He plays on select team bats fourth plays short and third. Is this a good choice? skip
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR is an High School and College bat. I would recommend the 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League. This is a very balanced, high-performing bat.
Justin R.
Marucci Black 2 or Marucci Elite? stutsman3
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult features new technology that fuses composite and aluminum materials together to replace the final inches of the bat, including the endcap, with aerospace grade composite materials. This will make the Elite BBCOR even more balanced than the 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult.
Katie
I'm having a really hard time deciding between the Marucci Elite, the 2013 CF5 and the 2013 S1. I have read all there descriptions is there anything else you can tell me about these bats? aldred
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Neither is proven outperform the others. All have balanced swing weights, with the S1 being the most balanced followed by the CF5 and Elite.
Tyler
My son is 13 years old, 5 feet, 105 pounds and is playing JV ball for a small school. He is a good hitter with a high average but not a power hitter. He prefers a well balanced bat. I am considering the Elite but I think he should stick with a 31inch bat. Do you have any other recommendations for me? Any idea when you may get a 31 inch in stock? Shannon
The Marucci Elite is one of the most balanced and performing BBCOR bats this year. We now have the 31" in stock.
Kara
I am a 6' tall, 190 lbs. power hitter. I used the XL1 last year but it was -5. I am now transferring to high school play and must use a BBCOR -3. Which bat is recommended for power hitters and will give the performance? Should I get a 33" or 34"? I used a 32" 27 oz. last year. Blake
I would recommend a 33" 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult bat. It will work just fine for power hitting.
Kevin
Hey I have been swinging the Marucci Cat 5 and I fell in love with it. I am all about that loud aluminum ping! I was curious which new 2013 BBCOR would be the most similar to the Cat 5? Would it be the Elite or the Team? I looking for that ping mostly. Mike
Both the 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR and the Marucci Team BBCOR will produce that ping sound you're looking for, however the Team is the most similar to the Cat 5.
Kevin
Is this bat similar to the Marucci Team or Cat 5? What about the 2013 5150 and 2013 VELO 5150? Mike
No, the 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR features a composite handle, alloy barrel and composite material in the last 3-4" of the barrel. The Marucci Team replaced the Cat 5 for this year. The 2013 Marucci Team, the 2013 Rawlings 5150 and the 2013 Rawlings VELO are all one-piece alloy bats.
Justin R
Why is this bat good? How is this better than the Marucci Black 2 or the Easton S1? travis
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI is a two-piece seamless hybrid that provides a stiffer flex than other two-piece bats. Marucci has also removed the last 3-4" of the alloy barrel and replaced it with composite material which results in a more balanced bat.
Mac
Would this bat be better for a power hitter or a contact hitter? Joseph
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI is a well balanced bat with a light swing weight that is preferred by hitters with average strength and swing speed.
Tyler
My son plays in Alaska, and during his high school games they play in 45-50 degree weather. Will this bat perform well in these conditions? ajmarkovich
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult bat is a top of the line bat. One of the best on the market. That being said, 55 degrees is the lowest temperature that composites can perform at their highest level. This bat will still perform it is just that the baseball becomes more dense when it is cold. Heavier ball means less performance from any bat.
Brandon
If the last few inches of aluminum the Elite have been replaced with composite. What happens when you hit a ball on the seam between those two zones or on the end of the bat? CWOOD
There are no seams on the 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult bat. If you hit a ball off the end of the barrel, it will act just like any other bat.
Marcus
I'm 5'9" 160 pounds. Would you recommend the Marucci Elite or Marucci Black 2? Booz
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR is for the more elite hitter. The Black 2 is for more of the average hitter.
Chad M.
I'm 6'0" 165 lbs, do you recommend this bat for me? dhog13
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult bat is a very good bat for all hitters. It has a good mix of balanced swing weight and power.
Robert
I'm 5'10" 120 pounds. Do you think this bat is suitable for me? SBC
With the height and weight you have provided, we suggest a 31" bat. The 2013 Marucci Elite is a top of the line bat for both power hitters and the line drive hitter.
Chad M.
What is a better bat the Marucci Elite or the Louisville Slugger Attack? Hosa
The Marucci Elite and the Louisville Slugger Attack are both top of the line bats made by both manufactures. You will not see a difference in performance between the two, but the Marucci Elite will be more balanced.
Noah
When will the price be reduced? 24
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult is still a fairly new model, so Marucci will not be lowering the price on this bat for a while.
Marcus
How is this compared to the Marucci CAT 5? And what's this bat sound like? Brian
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult is a two-piece hybrid bat with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. The Marucci CAT 5 is a one-piece alloy bat. The Marucci Elite will perform better than the CAT 5. Please listen to the Marucci Elite BBCOR Audio at the link below for sound. http://www.justbats.com/product/2013-marucci-elite-bbcor--mcbeli-adult/16933/
Frank
Is there anywhere where I could try this bat out, or at least hold it before I buy to see if I like it? Or is it only sold online and is purchase a shot in the dark? Trey
Unfortunately, we do not have a storefront anywhere that allows for customers to try bats or hold bats before purchase.
Tyler
What is the difference between the Elite and the Black 2? keller
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult and the Marucci Black 2 are both balanced, two-piece seamless hybrids. The Maruccie Elite has had the last 3-4 inches of alloy removed from the barrel and replaced with composite material. It makes for a very light swinging bat.
Mac
I'm 5'8'' and 150 lbs. Right now I'm using a 32" S1, what size do you recommend for me in the Marucci Elite? Timmy t
A 32" 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult bat will be right on the money for you.
Kevin
I'm 5' 5" and 120 pounds. Should I buy the Marucci Elite 32" or RIP- IT Air Prototype 32"? spartan baseball
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult and the 2013 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR AIR: B1303A Adult are both excellent bats. If you are more of a contact hitter the 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult would be the best option. If you are a power hitter the 2013 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR AIR: B1303A Adult would be the best option.
Kara
I'm a line drive contact hitter that loves two piece aluminum bats. I swing the original Marucci Black now and was wondering how the composite in the barrel of this bat makes it more of a two piece composite bat or two piece aluminum bat? chendo217
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR with it's multi material barrel technology would make it both carbon fiber and an alloy barrel.
Chad M.
Is this bat's weight distribution more comparable to the Marucci Cat 5 or Marucci Team bat? And will this bat "die?" Jared
All bats after many seasons of use will lose some performance. The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult bat is an awesome product. It is very balanced and not barrel heavy, it should feel more like the Cat 5 in swing weight.
Brandon
For a power hitter would you recommend this bat or the 2013 Easton XL1 BBCOR high school play? ocampo
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult bat may be a little more suited for a power hitter than the 2013 Easton XL1. The Marucci has an alloy barrel, which is stiffer and will provide more power than a composite bat. But you can't go wrong with either.
Robert
My 15 year old, 6' 2" and 175 lbs. son has been swinging a Black 32" for about a year. He has plenty of bat speed as a line drive, gap hitter. He is thinking about getting a 33" bat and that is the size your seem to recommend. Should he stick with the Black or switch to the Elite? If there is little difference, I will choose to save the $100. Skinflint
The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult and the 2013 Marucci Black 2 BBCOR: MCBB20 Adult are both hybrid designs with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The Elite replaces the last few inches of the alloy barrel with composite, taking out some of the "dead" weight to make it more balanced, allowing the player to increase bat speed. We recommend a 33" for a player his size and age.
Katie
Is it a composite barrel or alloy? It said that it was both, but how does that make sense? Does it feel more like an alloy bat or composite bat? Jim
The Marucci Elite BBCOR sounds more like a Alloy bat. It has technology that fuses both alloy and composite to create a faster swing. It is a really unique bat and would have the pop of a composite barrel product.
Chad M.
When will the 2013 bats be featured in "Bat Packs", such as the Marucci Elite? Patrick
The 2013 bats will be put into bat packs when a newer model comes out. Since the 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult is so popular it will be awhile before you see it in a pack.

The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult technically has an alloy barrel and requires no break-in period. The composite toward the end of the barrel would not cause the bat to require the break-in steps. It is hot right out of the wrapper.

The 2014 Marucci Elite BBCOR: (MCBE14) would be an excellent choice if you are more of a contact hitter. The two-piece design will provide a little bit more flex, in comparison to the one-piece design used in the 2014 Marucci ONE BBCOR: (MCB1). As for the quality, both models will be high performing. The Marucci Elite BBCOR: (MCBELI) will have a little bit more added technology in it to help boost performance, and enhance the sweet spot. It will also incorporate a patented unequal Kevlar-Reinforced grip to help eliminate sting much better.
