The Marucci Elite is the best performing Marucci model and will be a little more balanced than the Marucci Black 2. They are both two-piece bats, but the barrel on the Marucci Elite combines the AZ3000 alloy with carbon fiber to reduce the barrel weight and remove unnecessary components of traditional bat designs. The Marucci Black 2 will not have any of the carbon fiber material that is combined with the alloy in the barrel like the Marucci Elite.

If he had success with the CF5 in the past, then the DeMarini CF5 would be the top recommendation as it's proven that when a player uses the same bat they have used previously, they are more likely to have continued success and increased confidence. However, between the Marucci Elite, Marucci Black 2, Easton S1, and Louisville Slugger Attack, the S1 would be the top recommendation because it is most similar in design to the CF5.

It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Neither is proven outperform the others. All have balanced swing weights, with the S1 being the most balanced followed by the CF5 and Elite.

That being said, 55 degrees is the lowest temperature that composites can perform at their highest level. This bat will still perform it is just that the baseball becomes more dense when it is cold. Heavier ball means less performance from any bat.

The 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult bat would more closely compare to the DeMarini CF5 rather than the Rawlings 5150 Alloy BBCOR. The Elite will have a large sweet spot due to the proprietary seamless hybrid technology. This is used to join a multimaterial barrel with a carbon fiber handle. The CF5 will be a two-piece fully composite bat. Both bats will have similar pop, balance, and performance. The Rawlings 5150 Alloy BBCOR will be a one-piece all alloy bat. It will not require any period of break-in.

Based on your hitting style, I would recommend the Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult. However, if you prefer an end loaded feel and have had success with them, I would go with the Easton.

The 2014 Marucci Elite BBCOR: (MCBE14) would be an excellent choice if you are more of a contact hitter.The two-piece design will provide a little bit more flex, in comparison to the one-piece design used in the 2014 Marucci ONE BBCOR: (MCB1). As for the quality, both models will be high performing. The Marucci Elite BBCOR: (MCBELI) will have a little bit more added technology in it to help boost performance, and enhance the sweet spot. It will also incorporate a patented unequal Kevlar-Reinforced grip to help eliminate sting much better.

No, the Marucci Elite BBCOR (MCBELI) does not have to be broken in because it does have an alloy barrel. The only bats that need to be broken in are the full composite bats.
