Description

New for Based on Marucci's experience at the highest level of the game, Marucci knows that every player can benefit from having a bat tailored to their exact swing and style. Marucci has also learned, however, that the vast majority of players perform better with the most balanced bats. This knowledge, combined with the desire to help build the best hitters in baseball, have been the driving forces behind the development of the Marucci Elite line of bats. While most of the industry was working to shave fractions of ounces from their bat designs, Marucci set out to reduce their barrel weights by over 2 ounces. Such a dramatic weight reduction was not possible with standard bat manufacturing processes, but after a year of intensive research and testing, Marucci has developed and patented such a technology and is incorporating it into their new line of Elite bats. Marucci's patented technology allows for industry best weight reductions by fusing composite and aluminum materials together along the length of the barrel. By replacing the final inches of the bat, including the endcap, with aerospace grade composite materials, Marucci is removing "dead weight" from the bat and replacing it with a highly engineered structure designed to extend the sweet spot and improve the feel of the bat, all while helping to achieve industry-best swing weights. Professional hitters understand the importance of using the best equipment, they know that any small advantage they can gain from their equipment puts them that much closer to success. Marucci's patented multimaterial barrel technology offers players the advantage of increased swing speeds and more control at the plate. Join the ranks of hitters who have learned to expect as much from their bat as they do from themselves. Professionally Inspired. Precision Crafted. Marucci Elite. The Elite features the USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

ba-boom

Pros: hot off the wrapper! It feels very balanced and light, probably could have moved up an inch with no problem. The ball flies off the bat and it has the PING sound. This will probably be one of the hottest bat once the season begins. One of the few bats that you can use immediately. Good job Marucci!

Cons: price, but if it keeps performance its well worth it

Pros: The ball flies off the barrel. It has a very intimidating sound from a defensive standpoint. The bat is very easy swinging, my son had an XL2. It was a very different bat to swing at first, but now it is second nature. It is more comparable to the Easton Speed series.

Cons: The graphics are not too flashy, but that keeps the other kids from grabbing it.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Marucci Elite Senior League Baseball Bat: MSBELI? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Which is more appropriate for an 11 yr old hitter with good strength.. the Black 2 or Elite? Gpop
Either one will work great for an 11year old hitter with good strength. The Elite is Marucci's best bat this year due to the improved balance feel and larger sweet spot.
Zach
A lot of composite bats sound dull or dead, what does the Elite sound like? Matt
Due to Marucci's patented multimaterial barrel technology the Elite sounds much more like an aluminum bat than a composite bat. The Elite does not ring as long as traditional aluminum bats, but you'll be surprised to see how the ball pops off the barrel and to hear the ping that goes with it.
Tommy
Is the Elite an aluminum or composite bat? john
Because the Elite contains a significant percentage of composite material it goes through the same testing as composite bats and is officially classified as a composite bat.
Aubrey
Which bat is better, the Marucci Black 2 or the Marucci Elite? DNH
Both the Marucci Black 2 and the Marucci Elite are top of the line bats. The Elite will be more balanced and have a bigger sweet spot, which will help improve bat speed and give you better results.
John H
Being that this bat is a Hybrid I believe. Will this bat be good for kids with higher swing speeds? We are an 11U looking at 30/20. Thanks. Topher
Yes. While most of the earliest hybrid bats utilized very flexible handles in an attempt to create higher swing speeds, many of the newer hybrids, especially the Marucci Elite, are simply designed to deliver maximum performance. What this means is that the handle is not tuned to work best for faster swings or slower swings, rather, it is designed to provide an excellent feel, great balance and optimal barrel response.
Brandon
Is the 2013 Marucci Elite approved for Babe Ruth play? I see it has the USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp but what about the BBCOR .50? me
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League bat will have the USSSA 1.15 markings. This is a senior league model. The bat that will have the BBCOR .50 markings will be the Adult BBCOR version. Check it out: 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult.
Brandon
Will they make the Marucci Elite with a 2 1/4 inch barrel? dad in 808
No. The Marucci Elite will not be produced in a youth small barrel model.
Tyler
Is this a one or two-piece bat? Same with the Black 2. I can't decide which to buy. What do you suggest? matthewj2013
The Marucci Elite and the Marucci Black 2 will both have seamless two-piece hybrid designs. The last few inches of the Elite's alloy barrel have been replaced with composite materials. The Elite features Marucci's newest technology, but both bats have balanced swing weights. You can't go wrong with Marucci bats.
Mac
Is this bat single wall? Sandlot
Yes. The Marucci Elite Senior League bat will have a single wall barrel made of alloy and composite.
Mac
We are really interested in this bat, but would have to order without swinging. Our local sports store does not carry marucci. We have swung the 2013 omaha, exo3, cf5, voodoo, and Easton s1,2,3. I want to know which bat its swing weight/balance is closest to? Of those mentioned, I think the cf5 is the lightest feeling, and the voodoo is the best bat, but not ready for the -9 yet. Sandlot
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI is a balanced bat with a swing weight similar to that of the Easton S3.
Tyler
Since this has composite material in it, how is it going to hold up in colder, early spring, temperatures? Any issues with cold weather? Byron
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League bat is a two-piece hybrd design. It features a composite handle with an alloy barrel. In colder temperatures ( below 50 degrees) both composite and aluminum bats durability are affected. Since this bats barrel is alloy and that is the area that will absorb most of the impact on hits, it will be more durable in the colder temperatures than a similar bat with a composite barrel.
Robert
How does this compare to the 2013 DeMarini CF5? They both have great reviews. My 11 year old is currently using an Easton S3 and we are looking to upgrade. Thanks! JayhawkElite
Both the 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI and the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX are great bat choices. The Marucci Elite is going to be a seamless two-piece bat with an alloy barrel that will be fairly stiff. The DeMarini CF5 will be a two-piece all composite bat that will flex more.
Kevin
How is the Elite's durability in the batting cage? Anthony
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League bat is one of the most durable and best performing bats on the market.
Frank
My 12 year old used the Vexxum last year and is looking for another hybrid bat (he plays in the NE where is often too cold for all composite). He's looking at the Easton S2 or the Marucci Elite. He's a contact hitter with average power. rem17
Both are great bats, but the Easton S2 is going to be a bit more balanced and it is more similar to the Vexxum in terms of construction and design. The S2 would be my recommendation.
Tyler
Does this bat require a break-in period as the barrel is alloy and composite? Jomak
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI does not require a break-in period.
Kara
Trying to decide between the Elite and the Team. It is almost double in price. Is there that much of a difference in the two bats? sham n um
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League bat will be Marucci's top of the line bat. It will be a two-piece hybrid design. It will be very balanced in swing weight. It will also eliminate the amount of vibration and sting felt in the hands. The Team will be a one-piece alloy model. It will feel stiff and have a slight end load to it. Both bats are great, but I would recommend the Elite.
Brandon
My son swings a 28 inch and 18 oz. Marucci Cat 5. Very strong hitter and has great bat speed. Would he gain any more speed if he changed to the Elite bat? Landon14
The 2013 Marucci Elite would certainly add speed to your swing. It is Marucci's top model on the market.. It is there most balanced swinging bat.
Chad M.
Will the Marucci Elite be available in a -8 or -5? coachdad
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League bat is only available in a -10 length to weight ratio.
Aubrey
Is this the best bat for my ten year old son? bankpow
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League is a great bat for your 10 year old son. The Elite is Marucci's top of the line bat and has a very balanced swing weight.
Katie
I have a question on the size of a bat. Right now my sons bat from last year was a youth Vexxum 30" 19 oz. When you buy a big barrel some people are telling me I should buy a bat that is a 29". My son is 11 and we were looking at the Marucci Elite 30" 20 oz. Will that bat size be okay for my son? This will be his first year playing AAU. fungophil
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League is a very balanced bat compared to the DeMarini Vexxum. We recommend a 30" 20 oz. for your son.
Kara
Will rolling the bat help or hurt the bat? We play travel ball this year and everyone I speak with has what they call, "A hot bat." Niner
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League bat is so awesome, it doesn't need to be rolled. Great hitters should not need to change their bat to see good results at the dish. Rolling voids the warranty and risks hurting the bat as soon as the first game after rolling. I would advise against the rolling process.
Brandon
This is our first year in live pitch. My son is 9 and has good bat speed. He's a contact hitter and I would like to invest in a bat that will add distance without affecting speed. Is the Marucci Elite the bat I need for him to do that? Or are there others I should consider first? qc34
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League bat will be one of the best bats that you could purchase for your son. It will meet all the requirements you have set forth. A second bat to consider is the 2013 Easton XL2: SL13X28 Senior League bat. If he is comfortable with an end loaded bat this will be another great option.
Robert
My son now has the Easton S1 28" 18 oz. model. In your opinion, what would be the difference in the two bats? gptexas
The Easton S1 is a two-piece full composite bat that will offer a little more flex and a little better balance. The Marucci Elite is a hybrid bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. It is also a well balanced bat, but not quite as balanced as the S1.
Tyler
I am debating between this bat and the 2013 Easton S3 with the 2 3/4 barrel for my 10 year old son. I think I prefer the Marucci, but he presently uses a 2 3/4 and wanted to know if changing to a 2 5/8 barrel will make a true difference (confidence not the issue). I'd be looking at a 29" 19oz, he is about 5' tall, 98 lbs. Rob
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League bat is a great bat. If your son is currently using a 2 3/4 barrel bat, but has a good level of confidence, then there would be no problem with changing to the 2 5/8 barrel. The size difference should not effect him.
Robert
Will the Marucci Elite MSBELI Senior League Bat be approved for play in Little League Baseball's Intermediate Division? The rule is no composite barrels are allowed. Coach K
The new 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League bat does have the new updated stamps and USSSA 1.15 markings. But as you stated, the rule being no composite barrel allowed. This bat does have 2-3 inches of composite material toward the end of the barrel. I would not want to risk it being deemed illegal for your league. I would ask a league official or team coach before purchasing.
Brandon
I am 13 and I am interested in this bat, but is it legal for me to play with? garrcrowe
As long as you are not in high school and you can use a big barrel bat the 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League will be legal for you to use.
Noah
Is this BBCOR certified? Drew
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI is a Senior League bat. If you are looking for the BBCOR model it is the 2013 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBELI Adult.
Damon
My 9 year old son is using the Marucci Cat 5 it dented the first 3 weeks he played with it and has about 5 good dents now and its not even a year since we bought it. Are the new bats having the same problems? Troy
The Cat 5 had very thin walls, the 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League does not suffer from the same issues as the Cat 5.
Kevin
Has the demo of the Marucci Elite bat ever been used? clay
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League has been used. If you do not like the performance of the bat once you receive it, you may return it within two weeks for a full refund.
Marcus
My 12 year old son currently uses the COMbat B4 and would like a well balanced big barrel with a little more pop. Will he notice a big difference in power or pop, between the COMbat and 2013 Marucci Elite Senior League. Micky D
The 2013 Marucci Elite will feel really lighter in your son's hands and as well as with the huge sweet spot, he will notice a difference on every swing.
Chad M.
Is this legal for Junior league division of Little League? Junior
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter and does not have a composite barrel. Based on these characteristics, the bat would be legal for Junior division in Little League. But it is always best to check with a coach or league official to be certain.
Mac
Is this bat as durable as the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo? db
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League and the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo are made of top of the line alloy and composite materials. They will both be very durable.
Kara
Is the Marucci Elite a better bat than the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum? Easy
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League bat is a great bat. It is created differently than the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum. The Vexxum will have a lighter swing weight, if that is what you are looking for. Both options are awesome!
Brandon
Which swings faster with more pop in the 31" 21oz? The 2013 Easton S2 or the 2013 Marucci Elite? Heatplayer27
Both the 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League bat and the 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League bats are very good bats. The Marucci Elite would be the faster swinging of the two and will offer great pop as well.
Robert
What is the benefit of stiff vs flex? Gatorboy12
A stiff bat is better at conveying the raw strength of a power hitter. A bat with flex can help to augment a contact hitter's swing, but tends to cost power hitters accuracy.
Kevin
How does the Elite compare to the COMbat PURESL? Understanding that the Elite is a two piece while the COMbat PURESL1 is full composite. bbdad
The 2013 COMBAT Pure: PURESL1 -10 Senior League is a one-piece bat, but the gear technology makes if feel like a two-piece bat. The composite material at the end of the 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League will feel very balanced. Both have excellent pop.
Kara
How does this bat compare to the COMbat B4 Portent? The Sheriff
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League bat is a seamless two-piece hybrid design and the COMBAT B4 Portent is a one-piece composite design. Here is a link for further comparison http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Aubrey
My Son will be 11 in July, he is 4'6" 83 lbs. He is currently using the TPX Omaha. I'm looking at the Marucci Elite as his Omaha is getting old and has some dents. Would you recommend moving up to a 29" bat or keep it the same? coachb
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League would be a great option for his next bat. A 29" would be recommended. It will be very balanced and easy to swing.
Brandon
I am trying to decide between the Elite MSBELI and the Vertex XL. My son is 4' 4" and weighs 64 lbs. He mostly hits line drives and hard grounders and has good bat speed and power. Which bat, and what size would you recommend? Baseball Dad
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League is going to be one of the most balanced bats on the market. It would be a great choice for your son, because of the awesome performance and outstanding balance.
Noah
My son is 9 and plays travel ball and rec ball. He has never used a big barrel bat before. He currently swings a Combat B3 29/17 in both leagues. He is a contact hitter, consistently hits line drives and grounders with the very occasional deep ball. After a lot of research (still not 100% sure) I have narrowed it down to either the Marucci Elite or the 2014 Demarini Vexxum. What is your recommendation, keeping in mind that I am looking for a bat to add a more consistent long ball and something where he won't notice much of a difference in the current league ball bat he uses (COMbat B3)? Junior
Both the 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League and the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR are very balanced two-piece bats, ideal for a contact hitters. They both use top of the line alloy and composite materials. You can't go wrong with either model.
Kara
Do you know how quick the bat dies? Csapp
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League is a very hot bat. You should get at least two seasons in with this bat.
Noah
Would you recommend the Marucci Black 2 or the Marucci Elite? Peyton
Both the Marucci Elite and the Marucci Black 2 are top of the line bats. The Marucci Elite will be more balanced and best suited for contact hitters.
John H
Would you recommend this bat for a power hitter? josh
Yes, I would recommend the 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League bat for all types of hitters. Contact, gap to gap, and power guys.
Brandon
Would you recommend the Marucci Elite or Marucci Team Blue for a twelve year old tournament ball player? homerundady
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League is going to be a higher performing bat than the Marucci Team.
Noah
What is better than a COMbat B3? baseball mommy
The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League and the COMBAT B3 are very good. The 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League will have more flex because it is a two-piece bat. It is a great choice for a contact hitter. The COMBAT B3 is a one-piece composite, better for a power hitter.
Kara
My son is 10 years old, 4'6" 62 lbs., and swung a 29" 17 oz. bat last year. He is a line drive contact hitter. What size bat would you recommend for him? RC_dad
For a player his size, I would recommend going with the 29" 19 oz. model of the 2013 Marucci Elite: MSBELI Senior League.
