Pros: I have had trouble trying to find a bat to fit my style of hitting. One of my teammates had this bat and the last 4 games of the year i went 11 for 13 with hits that any other bat would be just dribblers. A lot of pop and makes that sweet sound on contact

Cons: NONE

Great Bat MJ20 player

Pros: The walls seem fairly thick, so the bat is going to be very durable. Even with this, it has pretty good pop, a little more than my Viper birch wood bat (thats saying quite a bit). Really comfortable and a great bat for a power/gap hitter like myself, but its great for contact hitters like my friend, who got the bat right after me. ZERO vibration. Great price. Highly recommend.

Cons: The sound is GNARLY! Really loud ping. But it won't effect how you hit the ball.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Marucci Team BBCOR Baseball Bat: MCBT Blue? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How does the Marucci Team compare to the Marucci CAT 5? Andy
The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT-B Adult bat is Marucci's 2013 one-piece alloy model that replaced the Marucci CAT 5. The Marucci Team bat is BBCOR certified and legal for play in NCAA and NFHS sanctioned events.
Austin
Is this Team bat BBCOR certified? Baseball Mom
Yes, the Marucci Team is BBCOR certified and legal for high school or collegiate level play.
Jennifer
Do you have the Marucci Team bats in stock? Trevor
Yes, we currently have the Marucci Team bats available in the colors available on our website. We run a live inventory on our site, so if we sell out of certain size, we will remove that item from our site.
K.B.
Is this a one-piece bat? Dave
Yes, the Marucci Team is a one-piece, all alloy bat. A bat like the Team would be a great option for a power hitter!
Jennifer
What is better, the Marucci Team or the Marucci Black? Rick
Both, the Marucci Black and the Marucci Team are great bats. Determining which one is better is difficult and is really dependent on the type of hitter you are. If you are more of a power hitter, the Team would probably be the best option for you because it is a one-piece ally. However, if you are more of a contact hitter, then the two-piece hybrid design of the Black would probably better suit your needs.
Jennifer
What is the drop weight on this bat? Eric
The Marucci Team BBCOR is an adult BBCOR bat with a -3 drop. All adult bats will have a -3 drop.
Jennifer
Is this bat legal for high school and college ball? Alberto
The Marucci Team is BBCOR approved and is legal for use in high school and collegiate level play.
Jennifer
Is the Team end loaded or balanced? Casey
The weight in the Marucci Team is evenly distributed. This gives the bat a balanced feel.
Jennifer
What is the difference between the red, black, and blue Team bats? Ryan
There are not any differences among the red, black or blue Marucci Team bats. They are just different colors to help give players a variety of colors to choose from.
Jennifer
I am a sophomore in high school who hits for power. What should I get the Marucci Team or the Marucci Black? Zach
If you are a power hitter then the Marucci Team would be a great choice for you! The Marucci Black is a great bat, but the two-piece design of this bat is usually better suited for contact hitters.
Jennifer
Why is the Marucci Team $100 less than the Black? I ordered the black demo for the same price as this. It should arrived on Thursday. zac
The Marucci Team and Marucci Black are two completely different bat designs, hence the price difference. The Team is a one-piece alloy and the Black is a two-piece hybrid with an alloy barrel and composite handle.
Derek H.
Which bat is a more even weight, the CAT5 or the Team? Sarge
The CAT5 and the Marucci Team both have balanced swing weights and have a very similar feel.
Ryan
I'm an 8th grader and about 5"4" and 125 lbs. and wanting to upgrade from a 31 in. 28 oz. Easton Hammer. Would this be a good upgrade? Q7mustard
The Marucci Team would definitely be a great bat to upgrade to. The Team is a full alloy bat like the Hammer and you shouldn't have any problems switching to this bat!
Jennifer
Would it be too heavy, in your opinion, for a 13 year old who is 5'3" and 100 pounds? pcbaseball5
Based on that height and weight, a 29" bat is recommended. Since the smallest size we currently have available is a 31" 28oz, these sizes will probably be too large for you. However, if you feel like you can swing a 31" bat, then I say go for it! It shouldn't hurt anything.
Jennifer
Where is it made? Tim
Marucci"s headquarters is located in Baton Rouge, LA. However, the Marucci Team model is manufactured overseas.
John
Is there a break-in period? If so, how long? Dat Dude
Since the Marucci Team BBCOR bat is an all alloy bat, there will not be a break-in period required. Only composite barrel bats will require a break-in.
Jennifer
Is this bat BBCOR certified? Skipper
The Marucci Team BBCOR is BBCOR certified and legal for use in high school and collegiate level play.
Jennifer
Is this approved for high school play? Bo
Absolutely! The Marruci Team is BBCOR certified and is legal for play in high school and collegiate levels.
Jennifer
Is this bat approved for NCAA play? Austin Hillbilly
Yes it is. This Marucci Team bat is BBCOR certified and legal for NCAA play.
Tyler
Does this have a -3 drop weight? The Question Asker
The Marucci Team does in fact have a -3 drop. All adult BBCOR bats will have a -3 drop.
Jennifer
Do you think this bat will get banned like the CAT 5? Royals Fan
I do not think the Marucci Team BBCOR bat will get banned like the 33" Marucci CAT 5. The 33" 30 oz. CAT 5 was the only size that was decertified. Marucci has since done a great job of testing their bats to make sure they are legal for play at the different levels. If the Marucci Team does lose its BBCOR certification, the NCAA and NFHS will be the governing bodies that make this ruling.
Austin
How does this bat differ from the CAT 5 Squared BBCOR? Is it better? c chop
The Marucci Team is very comparable to the Marucci CAT 5 and designed with the same high end alloy as the Cat 5. Both have excellent pop and performance.
Kara
Is this a BBCOR bat? Hondo
The Marucci Team BBCOR does meet the BBCOR certifications and is approved for play at the high school and collegiate level.
Jennifer
Is this a one or two-piece bat? Jeremy
The Marucci Team is a one-piece all alloy bat. A bat like the Marucci Team is great for power hitters.
Jennifer
Is this bat alloy or composite? Bradley
The Marucci Team is a one-piece fully alloy design. There is no composite material anywhere in the bat.
Jennifer
Does this bat have the USSSA stamp on the bat? Derek
The Marucci Team BBCOR does not have the USSSA stamp. Adult bats are not stamped with the USSSA approval as they are BBCOR certified and do not have to feature the USSSA stamp. The Marucci Team is offered in a Senior League model that does feature the USSSA stamp.
Jennifer
Is this bat college approved? Stonum
The Marucci Team is BBCOR certified and is legal for high school or collegiate level play.
Jennifer

The weight in the Marucci Team is evenly distributed. This gives the bat a very balanced feel.

Jennifer

The Marucci Team is available in a 33/30. Our website shows all sizes we have available and that are ready to ship.
Jennifer
How long is the break-in period for this bat? Tony
Since the Marucci Team does not have a composite barrel, there is no break-in period required. This bat will be hot right out of the wrapper!
Jennifer
What is the difference between the colors of the bats? Ryan
The Marucci Team bats are the same design and construction, except one is blue, one is red, one is orange, one is green, and one is black.
Tyler
For the money, is the Marucci Team series just as good as the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo? Jo
That depends on who you ask. The Marucci Team bats are stiff, one-piece bats. The DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece bat with more flex. Both are high performing bats, just depends on whether you prefer a two-piece or one-piece bat.
Tyler
Would you recommend the CAT 5, Marucci Black, or Marucci Team based on pop? I am a power hitter. Jacob
All are great bats with very good pop. The CAT 5 and Team models are one-piece bats that often benefit power hitters. The CAT 5 was one of the highest performing BBCOR bats on the market, but it has been discontinued and we no longer have any in stock. I think the Team bat is comparable to the CAT 5, but it will be hard to match the CAT 5's performance. If you prefer a one-piece bat, go with the Team, if you have traditionally used two-piece bats with success, go with the Marucci Black.
Tyler
How does this compare to the Marucci Black? Aaron Foxie
The Marucci Team BBCOR will be stiffer than the Marucci Black because it is a one-piece bat. Both are very high performing.
Kara
For an average on base hitter with good power, would this or the Marucci Black be a better bat for me to use? BaseBallGuy
The Marucci Team bats are a one-piece alloy design made more for power hitters. The Marucci Black is a two-piece hybrid design that has more flex when swung; designed more for a contact hitter.
Derek
Which bat provides better bat speed, the Marucci Team or the Easton S3? baseballer
Both the Marucci Team and the Easton S3 are very balanced bats and are going to have great swing speeds.
Nick K.
I am a contact hitter, what is the best bat for me? Wheels
They are many bats that would be good. This is a balanced bat so it would be good for a contact hitter.
Damon
Would you recommend this bat over any of the easton bats? And if so which bats? K DOG
The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue is very similar to the Easton S3 in that they both are one-piece alloy bats with balanced swing weights. If you prefer a one-piece bat, I would recommend this bat over the Easton S1 or S2, because those two bats are both two-piece.
Nick D
So the Marucci Team bats would be a good choice for a contact hitter? Al
Yes, the Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT would be a good choice for a contact hitter, because it has a balanced swing weight.
Nick D
I'm coming up on my senior year of baseball and I'm hopefully playing in the future. Would this be a good bat for college? disguy21
Yes the Marucci Team BBCOR would be a great option for high school and college play. It feature high performing AZ3000 alloy with anti-vibration technology.
Tom
Is this bat better than the Easton S1? brandon
The Marucci Team bat is a top of the line one-piece fully aluminum bat and the Easton S1 is a high performing two-piece fully composite bat. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Tom
For a 13 year old contact hitter going into their second year of 60-90, would the Marucci Team or the Marucci CAT 5 be a more balanced bat? marucciman26
The Marucci Cat 5 would be slightly more balanced than the Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult.
Zach
I've swung a lot of alloy bats and if you hit it in the wrong place it hurts a lot. Since it says anti vibration is there any sting at all? GrandeGringo
One-piece fully aluminum bats will still have vibration if you hit the ball off the handle or the end of the bat. The Anti Vibration technology will greatly reduce the amount of vibration that travels through the bat though.
Tom
Would the 2013 Marucci Black or the 2013 Marucci Team provide a better swing speed? yankeefan
Your swing speed would be very similar with either the Marucci Black or the Marucci Team bat. The main difference is the Marucci Black has a composite handle whereas the Marucci Team bat is a one-piece fully aluminum bat.
Tom
What is the difference between this one, the black ,green, etc.? ffej19
There is no difference in construction of the different Marucci Team BBCOR models. The only difference will be cosmetically with the different colors to try and match your teams colors.
John
How would you compare this bat to the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR AIR? I have heard the RIP-IT is the better choice. Is this true? Jared s.
The Marucci Team BBCOR and the 2013 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Air are going to be very similar. They both are balanced bats and they are both very high performing. Performance wise, they are very comparable.
Nick
The Cat 5 was so highly regarded, why was it discontinued? My son loved it and most of his teammates beg to use his. missy
Marucci just released a newer version. You will see all manufacturers update bats every season. Mainly for marketing and performance purposes. The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult model will be just as good if not better than the model CAT 5.
Brandon
What is the difference between the red, blue, green or black colors? 9ball
There is no difference in construction of the different Marucci Team BBCOR models. The only difference will be cosmetically with the different colors to try and match your teams colors.
Jeff
Would this bat be a better bat for a contact hitter than the DeMarini CF5? I'm 15 years old, 5'10/140lbs. ajaydenlee23
Both the Marucci Team BBCOR and the DeMarini CF5 are both good balanced bats for a contact hitter. The CF5 will have more flex because it is a two-piece bat.
Damon
In the video, it says it has a season worth of pop? So does this mean that as it goes on, it loses pop? Dk
The Marucci Team BBCOR is a one-piece alloy design. Alloy bats will have their most pop right out of the wrapper. Their performance will gradually decline, but that will depend on how the bat is stored and how many people use it.
Mac
Would this bat last as long pop wise as any other bat? Or as a composite? Dk
The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult bat will have as much pop as any of the leading alloy BBCOR bats on the market. This bat will be hot right out of the wrapper unlike any composite barrel bat. This bat will start hot and slowly lose its performance over time. It also will feature a Bulletproof Anti-Vibration Technology.
Brandon
IHSA outlawed these bats last year. Are they in compliance this year? Curious
The Marucci Cat 5 was outlawed by the IHSA, which was replaced by the Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT. So this bat is currently in compliance with the IHSA.
Marcus
Would this bat be good for a kid that is 5'7" 200 pounds contact hitter that bats left handed? Justin
Yes. The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT is a great bat with good pop and durability.
Tyler
Is alloy or composite better? logan
They're both going to give you the same result. Composite bats require a break-in period, but generally last longer. Alloy bats require no break-in, but may not last as long as a composite bat.
Marcus
I had the 2012 Marucci Black and my adult league banned it after I bought it this year. I like the feel of the Marucci Team bat and the Marucci Black 2, I'm 6'3" and 218 lbs. I am mostly a single, double hitter with the occasional homerun. Which bat in your opinion would benifet me the most the Marucci Team or Marucci Black 2? My best friend and I think Marucci bats are one of the best or the best on the market. Ptizzle
The Marucci Black 2 is the better quality bat, due to it's composite handle and extended sweet spot.
Chad M.
Is this bat end loaded? dylan
The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue is a one-piece alloy with a balanced swing weight.
Mac
So this bat is for contact hitters? fernando
Yes, the Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult would be a good choice for contact hitters.
Chad M.
I'm 16, 6'0" and 145 pounds. I'm a contact hitter. Is this bat easy to break in quick? How long does it take? matt kevin
The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT is an alloy bat. Alloy bats do not require a break-in period and will be ready to go from day one.
Tyler
Is this a good bat for a power hitter? mitchthekidgenious
While a power hitter could use the Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult just fine, I would recommend this bat more to contact hitters.
Marcus
Does this bat lose pop over time? And do you need to buy a wood bat for the cage? big-tofu
Any bat including the Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult can lose its pop over time. The more the bat is used, the quicker the bat could use its pop. Using a wood bat or a bat you don't use in a game, can increase the lifespan of the bat.
Kara
I am a line drive gap to gap hitter, which bat would be better the Marucci Team bat or the Marucci Black 2? big pujols
Both the Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult bat and the Marucci Black 2 feature balanced swing weights preferred by contact hitters.
Aubrey
I am 5' 7" tall and weigh 135 lbs. What size bat should I use? ACHSBaseball9
With the height and weight given, we suggest that you get the Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult in the 31" 28 oz.
Chad M.
Is this bat comparable to the CF5 since they are both balanced bats? ACHSBaseball9
Both the Marucci MCBT and DeMarini CF5 are balanced bats, but that is about all they have in common. The MCBT is a one-piece full alloy bat while the CF5 is a two-piece full composite bat.
Tyler
I'm in 7th grade, what size should I use? tbone
Based on you age, we would recommend a 32" model in the Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult bat. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
What's the difference between the Marucci Team bats? Is it just a different color? marruci freak
The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult bat will be the same as all of the other colors. They just try to give the kids availability to match their team colors.
Brandon
What do you recommend? The Marucci Team, or the Rip-it Prototype 2 Air? Mhb13
The Rip-it Prototype 2 Air and the Marucci Team are both great bats to go with. The Rip-It has been holding up a little better than the Marucci Team.
Noah
I need a stiff, balanced, one-piece bat (basically a metal that best resembles wood). What bat should I look at? Suites124
The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult is a one-piece bat that is balanced and stiff. It would be a great option for you.
Kara
What is the difference between the blue, black, and red models? big o
The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult bat is a one-piece alloy model and the only difference between it and the black and red models is the color scheme.
Aubrey

The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult is very balanced and will be quick through the zone.

Based off of your height and weight you should be using the 32" Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult.

Is the Team bat wood or aluminum? Mike
The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult is a one-piece aluminum bat.
Kara
What bat has more pop, the Marucci Team BBCOR or the Rawlings 5150 BBCOR? jim
The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult and 2013 Rawlings 5150 Alloy BBCOR: BBCA2 Adult are very comparable performance-wise. The 2013 Rawlings 5150 Alloy BBCOR: BBCA2 Adult is currently selling better and gets slightly better reviews, though they are both great balanced one-piece alloy options.
Katie
What wooden bat is most similar to this bat? Which wooden bat do you recommend using if I hit with the Marucci Team in games? GBbaseball
The Marucci Jose Bautista Maple Wood Bat: JB19 Adult would be similar in feel to the Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult.
Kara
What bat has more pop and better balance: the Rawlings VELO, TPX Omaha or these Marucci Teams? Ben
The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult, 2013 Rawlings VELO BBCOR: BBVELO, and 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR: BB136 all use top of the line alloy and will be very high performing. They are all balanced bats.
Kara
I'm in 8th grade and am in cprep and going into high school. Which bat is better Marucci Team or RIP-IT BBCOR Air. bog23pro
Both the Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Blue Adult and the RIP-IT BBCOR Air use top of the line alloy. They both are high performing. The RIP-IT BBCOR Air is a little more balanced.
Kara
I've heard that some of the Marucci BBCOR bats are not legal to use for high school play? Is this true? Specifically this one. homerunhitter43
This Marucci Team BBCOR: (MCBT) Blue Adult bat is approved for play in High School and NCAA play. A few sizes of the 2012 version of the Marucci Black and CAT 5 BBCOR bats are on the Non-Approved BBCOR Bat List. Those Marucci Black models are still approved for NFHS play. You can find the most current list of Non-Approved BBCOR bats by following this link: http://www.mme.wsu.edu/~ssl/certified/certification.html

The 2014 Marucci One was designed to be more balanced than the Marucci Team BBCOR (MCBT) Blue Adult . The improved balance is the result of the One"s new shape and wall thickness. The One also features professionally-inspired knob taper shapes.

Is this a good bat for a 5"3 85 pound 7th grade on base/contact type of hitter? Gavin
The length that would fit him the best would be 30 inches. The Marucci Team BBCOR (MCBT) would be to heavy for him. I would look at bats around a -8 drop or - 5 drop.
Kyle
People have said that this bat has a very light weight feel is that true? Cfranco816
The Marucci Team BBCOR (MCBT Blue Adult) is definitely a very balanced bat option. It will have a very light swing feel for accelerated bat speed.

I am a 5'10" 220 pound freshman and I have only ever used a DeMarini Voodoo. I was wondering would this be an upgrade or a downgrade from the DeMarini Voodoo? BigJ
The Marucci Team BBCOR (MCBT) is not a downgrade from the DeMarini Voodoo. Both bats use top of the line alloy materials but they are designed differently. The MCBT is a one-piece alloy bat that is balanced. The DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece bat that is end loaded.

I'm 5'6" 140 lbs. in eighth grade. Would a 33 inch be good, since it's weight is balanced? Born
Based on the information you gave our Bat Coach recommend a 32" length but if you would like a heavier bat I don't see why you couldn't swing a 33" 30 oz. in the Marucci Team BBCOR (MCBT).

How does the bat look visually? Also, how many games or months has it been used? benny baseball
We do thoroughly inspect our used products before putting them for sale. Therefore, the barrel will look very clean. Unfortunately, there is no way to keep track of how much the Marucci Team BBCOR: (MCBT) has been used, but it will be in excellent condition. We do have a 14 day guarantee on our used products, meaning that they can be returned to us for a full refund. However, the manufacturer's warranty does become void since it is a used item.
