There are many excellent choices out there right now, that will be very high quality and high performing. If you are a power hitter, I would probably suggest taking a look at the Rawlings VELO BBCOR (BBVELO). The one-piece alloy design will provide a stiffer feel preferred by power players, and will also incorporate a very strong 5150 alloy material. If your style is more reflective of a contact hitter the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) would be a great choice to check out. It will be a two-piece composite design, and will be extremely balanced. The two-piece construction will provide some added flex, and the even weight distribution will make it very easy to generate a fast swing speed.

Here at JustBats, we typically recommend sizes based on height and weight. If your son is between 4'9" and 5'4", I would recommend that he swing a 31". If his height is between 5'5" and 6'0", I would recommend that he swing a 32" length. If he is taller than 6'0", then I would recommend a 33" length.
