Both the 2013 Marucci Team: MSBT10 Blue Senior League and the Rawlings VELO: SLVELO Senior League bat will have similar pop and performance. I have heard through customer feedback that the Rawlings VELO will have a lighter swing weight. The bat is designed to increase swing velocity. Both bats will be one-piece all alloy models.

Marucci makes quality bats and the 2013 Marucci Team is no exception. There is a 12 month manufacturer's warranty to cover any defects associated with this bat. This bat is very different from the 2013 CF5. This is a one-piece alloy bat. The CF5 is a two-piece fully composite bat.

My son is 8 years old. He is 54" tall and 70 lbs. He has slightly above average swing speed and pretty good pop with his small diameter Nike bat. The pitching machine league we just joined allows big barrel bats and I'm looking to upgrade. I got him an Easton Senior League Reflex (SL13RX9) at 29/20 but his swing speed is noticeably slower. I was thinking of getting a bat pack with 29/19 and 28/18 versions of this bat. Would that be a good fit or would you recommend a different bat. Thanks! Greg
Based on his age, size, and described hitting mechanics, a 19 or 18 oz. model would suit him well. The 2013 Marucci Team: MSBT10 is a balanced bat that he should be more comfortable swinging compared to his 20 oz. Easton Reflex.

The 2013 Marucci Team: MSBT10 Blue Senior League and 2013 Easton XL3 are both one-piece alloy designs that will perform at comparable levels. The Team comes in a -5 and a -10 and is well balanced than the end loaded XL3, which comes in a -5 and -9. We'd 'recommend a 30" for a player your son's size.

The 2013 Marucci Team: MSBT10 Blue Senior League bat can dent as can any other all alloy bat on the market. The best way to not have this happen is to use the bat only against real baseballs and not the dimpled cage balls.
