Pros:

Cons: just bought bat about 3 weeks ago. for some reason this bat seemed to sting my daughter's hand more often then not. She's a 12u player and has experience playing so I know its not her. Bat just broke completely apart from handle. Not happy at all. Brand new bat.

Pros:

Cons: Had this bat for 13 months and it completely broke in half at the handle. My 10 year old daughter used it and I thought she would get a few more years out of it than she did. I would not recommend this bat for anyone.

Softball momma

Pros: Great pop right out of the wrapper!! Love the sound of the ball coming off the composite! My daughter is 9 and only weighs 60lb. She is clearing the infield easily with this bat! She loves it! If she hits the sweet spot it flys!!!!

Cons: Restrictions that come with most composite. We live in PA so we have to make sure it is warm enough to use... We did have to buy an alternate bat to use in batting cages. She much prefers her "Master Miken". Yep she named it!

JP

Pros: This bat has nice pop when it's new, and it improves once it's broken in. The light weight makes it good for slap hitters or smaller batters who need extra length to get to the outside corner. My daughter loved the 28" version so much we're buying the 30" one now that she's taller.

Cons: The tape at the top and bottom of the grip will peel quickly. I replaced it with Gorilla Grip. Annoying, but not a huge deal.

Awesome out of the box! Dave parent

Pros: WOW, great pop out of the box, my daughter is 12 playing in a U14 league and is smashing the ball to the fence and sometimes further. Light does not describe how easy this bat is to swing. Her swing is about a 1/4 faster and on contact look out! Price is great, graphics phenomenal overall feel outstanding. If you have a daughter playing up in a league this is the edge lighter bat improves bat speed equals driving hits to the outfield.

Cons: None!

Broke -Then replacement broke too Shannon Z parent

Pros: Great bat - daughter LOVED it. Even had the previous version from 2012. Love the 2012 (or earlier, not sure), so we bought this version, because we needed the thumbprint to use for USSSA.

Cons: The 2013 bat snapped off an inch above the handle after just three tournaments. Miken sent the 2014 version as the warranty replacemement at it broke off about 2 inches above the handle as she was hitting soft toss at practice tonight. :( She had only used it one, 6 game tourney. :( Crazy disappointed kid will have to borrow a bat - again - for this weekends tourney. Expect Miken will not replace, so just out the money.

Stay away Mark coach

Pros: Decent price for an entry composite. Lighter weights for younger girls, 10U

Cons: Once you get to 12U and 12" ball the impact is too much for the -12.5 single piece bat and causes massive bat sting. This bat is good for 10U and under only. Not for 12U players.

New version. broke 2 pieces. 6 yr old less 50 hits BK parent

Pros: Alot of pop right out of wrapper. Daughter is 6 moving up to play 10U and shes putting it in the outfield in the air.

Cons: Daughter is 6. Less than 50 hits on bat and it snapped in 2 pieces above handle. Hopfully this is a 1 out of all that bats made thing. New one just came so i hope this is last time im on here..

Game Changer MrMike parent

Pros: First time using a Composite for my daughter. Went 6 for 6 in her first game, she said it felt like she was hitting a wiffle ball. Did not sting hands she said like alu. I noticed she goes to the plate with much more confidence now. Was skeptical about using this high performance bat in a 8u league, but she loves it and trying out for the travel team now.

Cons: Color, only because kids pick a bat based on color. She wanted a neon yellow..but other than that, great bat.

Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the Miken Halo Light (HALO12) in a 32''. For more information on sizing please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Tori
My daughter is 14 and about 110 pounds. Do you recommend the 31 or 32 inch bat? crisco
The size of the bat is best determined by the height and the weight of the player. To select the correct size Miken Halo Light (HALO12) we recommend checking our bat coach. Here is the link: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Kara
My daughter is 7 and I'm considering getting her a 28" 15.5 oz. bat. My daughter is around 49" tall and weighs 62 lbs. She has decent strength for a 7 year old. Is this bat too long for someone her size? Right now she's swinging a 15 oz., but it's only 25" and I feel it's too way too short. LB_CA
Based on her height and weight we recommend a 28" 15.5 oz. The Miken Halo Light (HALO12) is a very balanced, lightweight bat. It would be a great choice for a younger player.
Kara
I need to know if the Miken or the DeMarini Bustos is right for my 8 year old. nikki
The Miken Halo Light: HALO12 Fastpitch will be very light at the -12.5 drop size. The DeMarini Bustos will be even lighter at -13. If your hitter already has a great swing speed the Miken -12.5 may be the more appropriate size for that age.
Brandon
How does bat compare to the DeMarini Vendetta? I have never known anyone that owned a Miken, and I don't know anything about them. Pete
This Miken Halo Light (HALO12) Fastpitch bat would offer a very balanced swing weight, fully composite design, and -12 length to weight ratio, like the DeMarini Vendetta. The Halo receives quite a bit of positive feedback, as well. The big difference between the bats is that the Halo Light is a one-piece bat that offers a stiffer flex while the two-piece Vendetta helps eliminate vibration and increase trampoline effect.
Mac
What is the difference between the 2013 edition and the 2014 edition? Debbie
The Miken Halo Light Fastpitch Softball Bat (HALO12) and the 2014 Miken Halo Light Fastpitch Softball Bat (FHAL12) will feature the same design and materials. The color scheme will be the largest difference between the two bats.

About the Brand

During the past few years, serious softball players have looked to Miken Sports for bats that provide the highest levels of performance and durability. Our relentless focus on both technology and the demands of players has made Miken the most demanded line of softball bats today.

Although composites are the latest trend in softball bats, the technology has been the core of Miken's success since the company's inception. Miken pioneered the modern high-performance composite softball bat in 1998 and has pushed the limits with every model since. No other bat company has driven innovation as hard, and the results are indisputable. Look around. If a player is serious about softball, they are most likely swinging a Miken bat.

The success of Miken Sports has been driven by two forces - innovation and a passion for delivering what players demand. The results are obvious. Players have decided that composites are the future for bats, and no one does composite like Miken.
