Pros: When you hit it in the middle the ball flies!

Cons: You have to hit the ball right in the middle or it goes right to the pitcher.

Great bat especially for the price-point SBS coach

Pros: Miken does not get nearly as much hype as a few of the other brands when it comes to fastpitch bats. As a result, you end-up with a better bat for the money as you are not paying for hype. These are great bats for developing, competitive players and for rock-stars with parents not quite ready to drop $300+. What you get is a quality bat, single piece, done right. No bells and whistles. They are pretty hot right out of the box. I have a 12U daughter who has selected this bat as a replacement of a previous Rain that they loved

Cons: I have not seen this, but talking to a few college coaches that I know, this bat tends to be hot from the box and gets hotter. They tend to fail compression testing. This won't be an issue for any player at the non collegiate level or where compression testing is not performed. Great bat for 10 to 14U players IMO.

The 2013 Miken REV-EX Light: FREV12 Fastpitch is made from Miken's higher grade 750X HPI composite for greater durability and performance than the 2013 Miken Halo Light: HALO1. Like you mentioned the Halo is a half oz. lighter than the REV-EX, as well.

I live in Arkansas. Do you know if this bat is legal in AAA ball? JI
Given the many variations of leagues that use the A, AA, and AAA designations for their levels of play it would be impossible to speculate on the legality of the Miken REV-EX Light (FREV12) in your league. It does feature certifications which make it approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, and ISA softball leagues.
Patrick
I just bought this bat on eBay. Why is this bat discontinued? bubba
The Miken REV-EX Light Fastpitch Softball Bat (FREV12) is no longer being produced by Miken, so it is technically discontinued. The bat hasn't been banned for any reason; it will just no longer be offered by the manufacturer in this same colorway and design. Every bat will become discontinued when a new year's version is released.
Mac
Does this bat have good pop? And is it good for 12U players? Nick
The Miken REV-EX Light Fastpitch Softball Bat (FREV12) features a one-piece composite design. Pop is not actually a technical term. This bat does have excellent performance, however it was discontinued.

About the Brand

During the past few years, serious softball players have looked to Miken Sports for bats that provide the highest levels of performance and durability. Our relentless focus on both technology and the demands of players has made Miken the most demanded line of softball bats today.

Although composites are the latest trend in softball bats, the technology has been the core of Miken's success since the company's inception. Miken pioneered the modern high-performance composite softball bat in 1998 and has pushed the limits with every model since. No other bat company has driven innovation as hard, and the results are indisputable. Look around. If a player is serious about softball, they are most likely swinging a Miken bat.

The success of Miken Sports has been driven by two forces - innovation and a passion for delivering what players demand. The results are obvious. Players have decided that composites are the future for bats, and no one does composite like Miken.
