Pros: As my son gets older he is becoming more particular about his equipment. He selected this bat mainly for the looks. It feels very balanced and he was strokin it the first night at practice. So far I greatly recommend this bat and have had several inquiries about the bat. My son now loves the bat for the way it hits more than the way it looks.

Cons: don't care for the white handle if you want to call it a con.

Pros: JustBats quickly and smoothly replaced it with the same make/model and the new bat has done well over 5 practice sessions. The bat seems to have a good pop and the 9-year-old has no complaints about vibration or balance. The soft grip is a plus.

Cons: A dent was noticed after the first indoor batting practice session (using baseballs, not Juggs balls).

Mike

Pros: It's Miken. Swings well, nice look, comfortable

Cons: due to the 1.15 bat restrictions most manufacturers developed to quick. Reduced weight to help the 1.15 and thinned the bat walls. The bat walls simply can't withstand the impacts and dent way to easy.

Pros: Decent pop, cool graphics, and soft grip.

Cons: Same as everyone else. Big dent after 2 practices and sent it back but I was told, "Dents not significant enough to replace." After a full season, the barrel is barely round and sent it back last week. These bats were great when the boys were 8-9 years old, but as they are 12 years old and growing stronger, theses bats aren't holding up.

Pros: Swings true to it's weight and very balanced. EXTREMELY good pop off the bat.

Cons: Dented on the second swing. Awaiting new one from Miken. I'm sure that will dent also. The price we pay for thin walls

Pros: CRAZY HOT, right out of the wrapper! Extremely thin walls, great balance. Everything about this bat is perfect, except....

Cons: Dented on 2nd ball. Rotated it, and next pitch, dented it again. 3 pitches=2 dents. Sad because this bat is HOT

B.

Pros: My son is 8 and plays on a 9U team. He is their power hitter. All of the boys have "quality" big barrel bats. This bat was recommended to us by his batting coach, largely because I wanted a good performing, durable bat. Not only has my son used this bat for the past 3 months and 4 tournaments, but half the boys on the team use it also. It performs well. Not as much pop as the composites but, thus far, not a single dent! My son and his team love this bat.

Cons: My son was disappointed that the white grip got dirty. I told him that's a sign of a person who "uses" their bat. He now thinks it's cool.

Pros: Great pop, best bat my son has ever played with. There were reports of denting but from what I have seen the integrity of the bat has held up. I will never go with another type or brand of bat.

Cons: It would look better with black grip.

Rise Baseball ACAD VA. JB coach

Pros: Ball rockets off the barrel. My son is a little larger than average 11 year old, 3-4 hole type hitter weighs about 105 pounds, and strong not overweight. Has hit 9 bombs, with this bat...some only 20-25 ft high line drives that carried way out over 210 ft fences....Have really been impressed with he balance and subsequent bat speed he generates wit this; Switched from a Worth Prodigy that he wore out and have been impressed with this bat, its pop, durability and balance. Not sure whether it would dent in a really large/strong hitters hands, our team doesn't have too much size. I will say 2 things as a coach for our now 12 u team, #1 I have seen many of the high priced comp bats, especially Easton Mako's absolutely crap out, crack, break, get loose handled after minimal use. #2 I pitch close in 20 ft BP regularly, balls struck off this bat are almost invisibale. It is holding up well, and you cant beat the velo of the ball offthe barrel. Would recommend...

Cons: Durability, but for the price it is competitive with much higher priced models...

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Miken RZR Senior League Baseball Bat: SLRZR1? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Never dealt with Miken much, but thinking about giving it a try: This bat seems very similar to the Worth Prodigys. Is that a fair and accurate comparison? Tater
Yes, it is a fair comparison. They are both 1 piece all alloy bats.
Linda
Yes. They are both are going to be similar in structure and performance.
K.B.
Two questions. 1.) Has Miken given any indication that the paint will be more durable than the 2012 model. 2.) When do you expect to get the 30/20 and 31/21 sizes in? LKND
We have not heard anything about the paint issues from Miken yet. We will list the sizes we have in stock, I would say we should be getting more sizes in shortly.
David
Will this bat have more pop than last years psycho. I felt like the psycho was a disappointment compared to other Miken's I'd had in the past. The psycho seemed to have a very small sweet spot Shoeless joe
This bat does have a very nice pop. They have improved the alloy in the 2013 model.
Linda
How does this bat compare to the Easton S2? Would you remcommend one over the other? Ryan
Both these bats have an aluminum alloy barrel. The S2 is a two-piece with a composite handle. They both are going to have a balanced swing weight.
Ryan
What is the diffence in this senior 27/17 and the coach pitch 27/17 bat? black
Coach pitch bat are made for lower velocity pitching, so the senior league bats will withstand greater velocity pitching.
Shelbe
how much pop does it have oxjnsjcschbjhcabcujsdbcjhsxw
This bat has very good pop, they improved the alloy in 2013.
Josh
My son is 10. he plays in a 11 and under AA league. he needs bat speed. he is 4' 10" tall. i keep going back and forth between the 29 and 30" bat...this is not a cheap bat but want something he can use more than one year too. what do you reccommend for his age and size.... Chris
If he is swinging a 29" now and not having a problem with that size, then I would move him up to the 30".
Ryan
How does the new miken stand up to the easton s3? I bought the s3, not impressed, feels heavy. Interested in the miken now... linedrives
This bat is a great choice. The Miken has a 2 3/4" barrel and will have great pop. This bat is well balanced and has a durable barrel.
KG
How would you compare this with the Miken NXT freak and the COMbat B3? Is the COMbat worth all the extra money? Pete
The COMBAT and the Miken would both be great bat choices. For further information you can contact our customer service at 1-866-321-2287.
Shelbe
Just bought this bat almost on a whim. Son is playing 10U. Good size kid. Looked at COMbat B3 but sales person recommended the Miken. Good Choice? AndAdame
The 2013 Miken RZR was a great choice. The ball jumps off of the RZR.
Nick K.
Looking fo a bat for my 8 year old. He is 47" and weighs 73 lbs. What length should I consider? Also will this bat hold up to machine pitch with regular balls? Greaux
I would recommend a 28" model of the 2013 Miken RZR: SLRZR1 Senior League. Yes, this bat should hold up in the batting cage as long as you are hitting baseballs and not the more dense dimpled balls.
Nick D
What is the difference in this bat and the Junior Big Barrel in 27/17? Does one have more pop than the other? Bama
The difference between the SLRZR1 and the SLRZR10 is the SLRZR10 is designed for coach pitch and the SLRZR1 is designed for machine and kid pitch. Both will be high performing.
Kara

About the Brand

During the past few years, serious softball players have looked to Miken Sports for bats that provide the highest levels of performance and durability. Our relentless focus on both technology and the demands of players has made Miken the most demanded line of softball bats today.

Although composites are the latest trend in softball bats, the technology has been the core of Miken's success since the company's inception. Miken pioneered the modern high-performance composite softball bat in 1998 and has pushed the limits with every model since. No other bat company has driven innovation as hard, and the results are indisputable. Look around. If a player is serious about softball, they are most likely swinging a Miken bat.

The success of Miken Sports has been driven by two forces - innovation and a passion for delivering what players demand. The results are obvious. Players have decided that composites are the future for bats, and no one does composite like Miken.
