Cons: My son hit balls off a tee and went to soft toss to break in the bat. His first round of live pitching broke the bat, so i am not sure if we received a defective bat or if a -10 is too frail

Pros: The bat seems to be well built. The grip is well constructed. The bat itself is really light given the barrel size and length. It has been so cold here it is hard to get a true read, but seems to be a solid. All the kids want to use it when they bat.

Pros: Bat has a lot of pop my 12 yr old son has three HR's in 6 games. Ball really jumps off the bat.
Cons: In six games the bat has two large dents and is being sent in under the warranty. Hoping the bat works better with warmer weather. These bats struggle in colder weather.

fred durst
Pros: It's a bat.
Cons: Crack developed after a few months of use and it had to be replaced. Seems to have a little less pop than the Worth that it replaced. Seems like all these bats crack all the time regardless of who makes it.

5150 Delivers big hits! Hambone parent
Pros: My son has the 31 inch 21 ounce model. He has struggled the last two years with using a little league bat and then trying to find a different bat for travel. He has used his little league 5150 until he started using this. Great pop and a good bat for making the transition to a big barrel. His confidence is great with this bat and all of his teammates have been using in their fall league. Very balanced.
Cons: His bat has dented over the last couple of months. A very gradual process. My son practices and plays a lot. We are returning it and getting another one. He loves this bat.
OK matt kemp player
Pros: Ok bat. Stings horrible unless you hit it perfectly in the sweet spot.

Best Bat Out for the Price John parent
Pros: Great pop out of the wrapper. Looks great. Solid Construction. Son has used the same bat for Fall and almost the complete Spring Season. Has 32 games on it and probably 150+ practices. Literally thousands of ball connects with this bat and it is completely dent, ding, and crack free. Plenty of pop left in it as he hit his first out of the park homerun last weekend.
Cons: I think the bat handle it slightly thicker than some. I also replaced the grip.
Ok bat Dude player
Pros: Good pop I started hitting the ball better with this and I got out of a slump I was in
Cons: I am a kid who rarely hits extra base hits I lead off for my team and this bat dented within the first month I am pretty disappointed with this bats durability.
Great bat for the price legacydad parent
Pros: Bat has great pop. Cannot beat it for the price.
Cons: None yet

My son uses a 29" 5150 Velo that has a 2 3/4" barrel. He needs a 30" bat, but we don't know whether to buy the 5150 or the velo. He is definitely a contact hitter, but is worried about the 2&5/8 barrel on the new velo. Will it be a noticeable difference? He is rather small for his age. Micah

About the Brand
Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
