Pros: It's legal. A finely tuned bat that won't get your kid ejected.
Cons: It's legal. A finely marketed bat that will get your kid dejected.
Pros: Legal, looks great, and hits pretty solid actually. Money well spent.
Cons: Not as much pop as some other bats I've had, but that's to be expected with BBCOR.
Pros: Best BBCOR bat on the market, more pop than Demarini and TPX's!
Cons: None
Pros: GREAT looking bat, even better when I saw it in person. I think all BBCORs will be pretty much the same this year, as the few that I've tried have been pretty similar distance-wise. Bought this because it feels good and looks good.
Cons: Not quite as much pop as my old bat, but that was to be expected with BBCOR.
Pros: Bat has great balance, carries through zone well. First -3 purchased, but had Rawlings Plasma for LL. Justbats.com delivers top quality every time, and will ALWAYS shop here.
Cons: No speed cap.
Pros: Easy to Swing and better distance than expected.
Cons: None
Pros: Good weight distribution and sweet spot.
Cons: Lacks some of the pop I expected.
Pros: Bought this bat for my 14yr old son. Its his first drop 3. So far he has nothing but good things to say. Balance is good and contrary to what i have read about bbcor bats this bat still has good pop!! Right out the wrapper. He says he loves it just as much if not more than his exo(drop 5)! It is well made and looks good. When you hit it well it makes a loud ping. Kinda sounds cool to me tho..
Cons: Although the paint colors are good and the bat is set off by them the bright shiney red shows scratches easily. Overall its good so far.
Pros: Ball flies off the bat Looks beast Great sweet spot
Cons: Nada
Pros: great balance, great pop if hit on sweet spot. this bat in my opinion is better than the equal priced vexxum. i love this bat soooooooo much!
Cons: nothing at all
Pros: Great bat, awesome balance
Cons:
Pros: Great Balance, Good Pop to the Bat. This is the third BBCOR bat that I have owned and this is the best. Beats competitors in all aspects.
Cons: None
Pros: Great bat, nice looking, ball flies off smooth, not top heavy, feels light, and just a great bat overall, recommend this to power hitters
Cons: NONE
Pros: good bat overall, you just need to get a hold of the ball to drive it, but every bbcor bat is going to be like that.
Cons: none really
Pros: awesome graphic design, well balanced, perfect size handle, sweeter than sweet....sweet spot, when you square the ball up on the barrell it's as good or better than any BESR bat. It's no wonder UVA is the #1 team in the nation. This bat flat out gets it done!!!! The price is the icing on the cake !!
Cons: If you don't buy one....you will be put out to pasture with the rest of the heard !!!
Pros: Great bat. one of the best bbcors on the market.Great for its money. Hits better than the voodoo for $100 less.
Cons: Grip tends to roll over just regrip no big deal/
Pros: I used one of my friends today and loved it. It dosent take much if any from BESR bat (2010 Voodoo). Good pop, balence and grip. Can't wait to get mine!
Cons: nota
Pros: Best bat i've found for the money. Good feel, better feel than the BESR 5150s in my opinion. Larger sweet spot than other BBCORs ive tried with similar distance. Very good value.
Cons: Not really any super obvious cons. Good Bat. I personally have liked 2 piece bats better but thats just me.
Pros: good balence, good pop, solid feel, grip is comfortable, all around great bat. the only one better in my mind is the cf5, but it isnt twice as good for the extra money.
Cons: none
Pros: This was my son's first BBCOR bat, and he loved it. He says it was well balanced and could hit right out of the wrapper.
Cons: It sounds kind of odd.
Pros: Good bat. Very good sound, big sweet spot. Has outlasted everything else we bought this summer. Balanace is excellent.
Cons: All the other kids want to use it also.
Pros: nice bat, solid pop and seems to be good quality. it also sounds cool which is an added bonus. the ball flies off the bat
Cons: only if you dont like loud noises
Pros: Demo'd this bat. loved it. Gonna buy one. Only BBCOR i've tried that doesn't feel dead. Great balance. Seems to have great pop for a BBCOR
Cons:
Pros: Awesome pop and big sweet spot.
Cons: Every one on the team wants to use it.
Pros: Great bat. doesnt even feel like a BBCOR. i love the way it hits.
Cons: grip is kinda slick
Pros: Balanced, nice feel at the plate, cushiony grip. Don't want to say good pop because all BBCOR's are the same in that category. Recomend to contact hitters.
Cons: If you hit the ball anywhere below the "5" in "5150" you will get some sting, grip will start to wear down after about 1.5 months. Marks easy but so what.
Pros: One of the cheapest bats on the market, yet it hits straight bombs. Expected average pop, but it has excellent pop, especially for a BBCOR. Was hitting the ball 400+ ft. Highly recommended.
Cons: Paint seems to chip off pretty easily, but it doesn't effect the pop, so i don't really care.
Pros: good bat with large sweet spot and VERY well balanced.
Cons: ALL bbcor bats are bad but you have to deal with it. whenever you think u have a solid hit, you dont. the ball dies very fast.
Pros: the bat is well balanced. Has more pop than other BBCOR bats I have used.
Cons: none
Pros: Has okay pop and a pretty big sweet spot. Its worth the money you pay for it and its pretty good for a one piece bbcor bat.
Cons: it has a very high pitched sound to it and is more for line drive hitters
Pros: It's got descent pop. I really like it.
Cons: I swung my friend's, and I came away with my ears ringing really loud. In other words, if you have ear problems like me, this isn't your bat.
Pros: great bat. has a ton of pop for a bbcor
Cons:
Pros: Nice
Cons: None
Pros: great pop well balanced not top heavy I would highly recommend this bbcor bat
Cons: absolutly none
Pros: Amazing bat for the money. It also has a lot more pop than the other BBCOR bats. It also doesnt have to be broken in like the voodoo.
Cons: loud at contact
Pros: Great Pop and feels great best bbcor bat on the market
Cons: my whole team wanted to use it
Pros: This bat doesn't feel bbcor. BBCOR is supposed to hit similar to a wood bat. The 5150 does NOT feel like a wooden bat at all! This bat is a beast and is cheap for a bat.
Cons: Nothin
Pros: great bat well balenced great pop great price
Cons: absolutelty none
Pros: Great pop. Very well balanced
Cons: None
Pros: alright bat
Cons: good for contact not power hitters
Pros: the bat hits very well
Cons: none
Pros: Has OK "pop". Easton are still better. Hits like a BBCOR. Looks good but that does not get hits.
Cons: After 20-25 hits by my 18U kid the bat started making noise. Loud vibration near head of bat. Sent back to Rawlings to have looked at. This is a real pain sending it back, costs us another $18 which makes cost nearing Easton. Not a happy customer.
Pros: This bat was hot right out of the wrapper. Did not need to be broken in. WOW!!
Cons: Non so far.
Pros: I am 13 years old and i needed to start using a bbcor bat. i went to a local shop and got to try out some of the bats. i liked this one along with the omaha but this one is way cheaper. also tried cf5, voodoo, exo and the easton bats. the 5150 is by far the best feeling hitting.
Cons: only that the paint scratches easy. i really dont care.
Pros: Best BBCOR out there. Ball flies off the bat and feels light is balanced perfectly.
Cons: Bat Handle black color wears off quick not really a big deal
Pros: this is the best bat out there,it is cheep and is quick through the zone.it is very balanced.i love this bat.it is also my first BBCOR and it hits better than the old bats.
Cons: paint scratches off and grip is bad.
Pros: Very big sweet spot. The ball flys very smooth off the bat.
Cons:
Pros: This bat is terrific for its price. Great pop for a BBCOR with a cool bat design.
Cons: Paint chips easily, not big problem though
Pros: bat has excellent pop and feels great when you hit the ball on the sweet spot. hit very solid line drives with it in the cage for high school. was impressed with the bat. good balance as well, our team recently bought like 11 of these bats.
Cons: not much for 1 piece bats because it will sting a little bit if you hit the ball off the end or the handle.
Pros: Great balance and pop. About half the players on my high school team use this bat.
Cons:
Pros: Great Bat good pop firt game got a base hit with out any break in time
Cons: None
Pros: great pop feels very lite weighted perfect
Cons: none
Pros: Good POP
Cons: After you hit with it alot its deadens pretty quick
Pros: Great Bat Quick around Solid contact Good Power
Cons: Not much of a design Hit off handle a lot of shock
Pros: My son was happy with the new bat until one of the kids on the team said it was dead. Tapping the handle on the ground made a ringing sound versus the other 5150's on the team. Can anyone confirm this?
Cons:
Pros: great bat. a lot of pop definately for a power hitter like me im 14 and hit th eball 379 feet great bat rawlings
Cons:
Pros: pop is ok at times
Cons: The sweet spot is miniscule and unless you do hit it on the sweet spot, its nearly impossible to make solid contact with the ball! Its very frustrating as a batter if you cant trust your bat when you approach the plate. Not nearly what i expected and i plan on switching to a marucci
Pros: awesome
Cons:
Pros: nice look
Cons: hits for nothing worst bbcor bat i have hit with
Pros: Nice Bat, seems to have a lot of pop so far.
Cons: Nothing yet, other then other kids wanting to use it.
Pros: has great pop off of the bat and is balanced very well. this bat looks great and i recommend getting it. i am a coach of a team in Indiana and all the teams in our area are getting this bat.
Cons: not many cons except the bat can break if used improperly.
Pros: This year i am traveling in 13u and i can use a -5 and-8 but our team plays in the wreck team luege also so i have to use a _3 bat....this is the one it isnt top heavy and the ball flies off the bat.
Cons: They should make a -8 and -5 version
Pros: My first bbcor and its absolutely amazing!ball comes nice!
Cons: chips but it does not affect the performance
Pros: great bat the best bbcor out there

Cons: Paint chips really easy, and it feels a little heavier than it is
Pros: Bat Has so much Pop It Has Great pop & looks extremely nice in da batters box papas#3
Cons:
Pros: We got our son this bat on the recommendation of a college coach, a high school coach, & a bird-dog scout who all coached teams with Rawlings contracts. They raved about the even balance, swing weight, & performance alloy. So, we took our son's Eastons & Louisville Sluggers to Play It Again Sports & used the money to invest in a 5150 for his birthday. He received it & used it at practice & hit seeds all over the place. He raved about the balance, no sting, awesome sweet spot, how light it was, & how it, along with his Rawlings Plasma, are the best bats he has EVER handled.
Cons: None! He reports that his Rawlings bats are awesome, & so far, he has hit the ball well with them.
Pros: great pop,a nice smooth swing, and big sweet spot
Cons: no cons
Pros: Looks good and sounds good, its got okay pop if u r lucky enough to hit the sweetspot
Cons: dents way to easy, grip comes off, small sweetspot, paint chips, stings your hands
Pros: Great bat it flies off the bat better than other bats. Its also one of the cheapest bats you can get that have the same type of performance
Cons: People need to stop complaining about the paint and grip of the bat you give others the wrong idea about this bat.
Pros: none
Cons: the bat is very top heave and the paint isnt staying on the bat
Pros: This bat performs to its price. you get what you pay for and nothing more. its a decent bat nothing terrible about it but there's better bats out there.
Cons: Small sweet spot. Personally i'm not a big fan of alloy bats. Go with a COMbat B3
Pros: I swear this bat is amazing! It is deffiently worth the money! The pop is great, good balance! Great for a power hitter and slap hitter! I used this in High School this year and I can say it was the most used bat on the team by far!
Cons: The grip wears out after about 5 months.
Pros: best bat u can get. Indian hills college let me try some Rawlings bats out and i tried this one today i crushed it every single time up
Cons:
Pros: This bat has similar pop to other bats like the exo and omen and its bbcor not the best for power hitters more contact hitters.
Cons: grip peels and paint chips and stings if you hit below the grey.
Pros: Can hit more distance, hits home runs, good quality, nice grip, worth the money.
Cons: None
Pros: I expected pop and got even more. I hit a 420 bomb first day.
Cons: Too powerful
Pros: I have played an entire middle school season with this bat and I haven't had any problems with it so far. Has great pop and the ball flies off the bat great.
Cons:
Pros: love it great pop has a balanced swight wieght
Cons: it has bbcor and besr certified on the barrel but that doesnt effect the pop
Pros: great bat even weight and great pop the ball really connects and finds holes AMAZING!!!!!!
Cons:
Pros: Good pop great weight distribution
Cons: Paint chips easy can't use in cold and grip loses its grip. Overall tho great bat
Pros: awsome bat...very balanced...good pop right out of the wrapper...good grip...good sized sweet spot...very impressed
Cons: grip wears quickly but thats all good
Pros: Nice look, shiny, great bat for a BBCOR.
Cons: Grip tends to roll over and get ripped, sound at contact is more of a "ping sound" because it is alloy, I don't really love the weight distribution.
Pros: great bat obvious to tell it is a bbcor just as any other but it might just be the best bbcor out there this is a very very solid baseball bat very evenly weighted as well
Cons:
Pros: im 13 and playing on a seniors feild and this bat is boss doesnt feel heavy at all and is the best 5150 ive had and anybody can use and get good results fantastic grip i love it thank you RAWLINGS BEST BASEBALL PEOPLE IN THE WORLD
Cons: None are you crazy
Pros: best swing wieght on market perfectly balanced. im 5'6 126 lbs and have hit 3 HRs in 10 games as freshman i swung the drop 5 5150 in middle school and hit 6 HRs in 14 games its the best bat by far great pop compared to other bbcors for example the cf5 sux! great grip looks greatbut most of all performs great! # rawlings for life!
Cons: paint chips a little bit
Pros: Good for power hitters because smaller sweet spot contributes to more pop in that zone. A little barrel heavy, but balanced for the most part.
Cons: My bat broke after only 7 months. If looking for durability, search for something else.
Pros: Amazing, tons of pop, long lasting pop, comfortable grip, drops bombs, light, and balanced.
Cons: May lose pop faster because ALL your teammates will want to use it.
Pros: Helps.relieve constipation and feels good in my hands. I once hit a tree with this bat and it didnt break
Cons: Not easy to brrak
Pros: It has good pop.
Cons: I had to have it replaced after 2 months. Then it broke again 7 months later.
Pros: Coached a player who had a good hard short quick swing, but was not displaying much power with the BBCOR bat he bought. Gave him the 5150 one day this fall and he started hitting deep fly balls and much harder line drives. The difference was amazing. He hit over .500 in our last 6 fall games after hitting .200 in the first 6. He was a dedicated player to start, but his confidence and enthusiasm shot up when he saw how he could hit the ball with this bat. Ground balls that couldn't get thru holes started shooting through. The OF had to play deeper and open up more room. I have since bought two more for next year.
Cons: Handle tape maybe, but no real problems.
Pros: THIS BAT HAS GREAT POP AND GRIP AND FOR A REALLY CHEAP PRICE.
Cons: THE BAT IS PERFECT.
Pros: Consistent weight throughout the bat, gives me great bat speed and very impressed with the pop it has. like the grip it has and is a GREAT bat for the amount it is being sold for
Cons: scratches easily
Pros: The bat is flat-out awesome. Great pop off sweet spot, great sound off bat, swing weight is low, everything's there with this one.
Cons: The grip wore out quickly and the paints chips easily. The chips dont affect performance
Pros: this bat is the best bat i have ever swung. The first hit i got with it was a fast line drive with a loud PING! Great pop and well balanved
Cons: marks easy
Pros: Perfect.
Cons: None.
Pros: Great pop + its well balanced ( virgina college team uses it )
Cons: Nothing but the barrel is a little small
Pros: has a huge sweet spot
Cons:
Pros: Solid, great feel with an only sllightly end weight. Doesnt flex as much for a powerful hitter. OVerall my son, 14, loves this bat and he has owned demarini, easton, TPX, DAvy Jones Wood. I ordered him a second one to have "just in case" and at the price, you cannot beat it.For a BBCOR, ball does seem to jump a little quicker than what i have seen with some of the composite eastons. My son is also 6'2", 180 lbs and swings hard, so the stiffer bat here is translating to much more power.
Cons: First one came apart inside within 10 minutes hitting soft toss. Just bats overnighted a new one. The original one that blew up (sounded like graven inside) was just a defective bat.
Pros: Good pop. Great balance. Great paint job. Overall a great bat for the price.
Cons: None
Pros: Watched son's teammate hit a 400'+ opposite field bomb with it.
Cons: Wished my son had one so this season I bought two.
Pros: The pop is great. Perfect grip tape with a great balance. The warning sticker at the beginning of the barrel says it all.
Cons: Just a little sting.
Pros: Great bat. Lots of pop and has a great feel!
Cons: The Grip rolls easily.
Pros: Great Balance and sweet spot. My 13U team loves the feel and pop from this bat. Works outstanding for power & contact hitters alike and is very durable.
Cons: A few chips after a lot of use, but does not change bat performance.
Pros: Great balance, ball jumps off bat. Looks good
Cons: handle just a little fat
Pros: amazing pop!! perfect for power hitters
Cons: paint chips very easily, grip grinds down quick
Pros: It has an awesome sweet spot.
Cons: You have to get it in a shorter length than usual because the sweet spot is on the 5 in 5150.
Pros: Amazing pop, extremely durable ive been using this bat for the past 2 years, best bat ive ever used!
Cons: none
Pros: amazing balance, great feel, old but to me is still one of the best bats on market. this is coming from a player himself.
Cons: if hit off end, slight sting
Pros: I have the Easton s1 and this bat outhits it and it's over $150 less! Great bat, extremely durable!
Cons: None!
Pros: my son is flat out crushing the ball with this bat .
Cons: none
Pros: Amazing pop, great balance, big sweet spot, and very good price
Cons: the core broke after about a month

About the Brand
Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
