Pros: great balance, great bat speed, great grip, great pop, ive been hitting great
Cons:
Pros: I have to move up from a -10 to a -3 for high school and I am not very big. This bat is very even loaded and helped me alot with my bat speed and it has good pop
Cons: None
Pros: It has a very good pop to it and if you hit it right, it flys. I like the sound of the metal against ball and it makes a loud ping. The grip is very sturdy and you don't need batting gloves when you hit with it.
Cons: The knob of my bat is already dented a tiny bit.
Pros: Awesome bat! Light and has tremendous pop of the bat! Nice ping when you hit the ball and very stylish also.
Cons: Cons? None!
Pros: Just bought this a few days ago. Hit a shot today 320 plus feet! This bat is so worth it
Cons: The grip is pretty bad, it'll come off soon
Pros: Like the design and the option of getting it in a 30 inch size. Swings pretty well.
Cons: Have only been able to swing in real game situations twice. It is not as balanced as reported nor is it as balanced as the 2013 Demarini CF5. Do not believe it has the pop of the CF5 but again, I have not used that much at this point.
Pros: just used this bat at a bat demo, the rawlings rep was there. I compared this bat to the Easton S2, S1. My bat speed was much quicker with the 5150. Had great pop also. I cjose the 5150
Cons: to early to tell
Pros: Very good pop! Fells good when you hit with it and really even loaded!
Cons: Grip gets slippery if used without batting gloves.
Pros: This bat is incredible. You can't get a lot for $200 these days as far as bats are concerned. Thank you Rawlings for making a bat this amazing this affordable. If you've got $200 saved up for a bat, get this one. But if you have an extra $100 get the Velo. This bat is better than the CF5 in my oppinion. Rawlings beat BBCOR's system with this bat.
Cons: Grip doesn't last long. Scratches easily.
Pros: good amount of pop. good sweet spot and good grip and feel.
Cons: a lot of vibration.
Pros: Well balanced.
Cons: Compared to the other BBCOR bats, it doesn't compare to the Easton and Voodoo. This bat isn't as good. Pop isn't as good, grip is terrible, just a long list of cons. Don't get this bat.
Pros: great pop, great grip (with batting gloves), good price, and good balance. i have used most bb cor bats on the market and this is definitely one of, if not, the best choice. i would compare it directly with the easton s1 except the 5150 seems to have a more solid feel off the barrel.
Cons: none yet
Pros: Great bat. Evenly balanced and not end loaded. Excellent bat for $200.
Cons: The grip could be better so you must wear gloves. Hopefully Rawlings will take note of this and put a better grip on it in the future. Last year's model 5150 and Velo had an excellent grip. This must be corrected for next years model or I may look to switch bats.
Pros: THE BEST BAT OF ALL TIME JUST BUY IT
Cons: none
Pros: Ball jumps off the bat. It can make any average hitter look as if he had pop.
Cons: Personally, I don't think its as a good as its twin brother, the red version
Pros: The bat has great pop. it does not jar your hands.
Cons:
Pros: Feels light when you swing it. Has very good pop if you hit it off the sweet spot, also the grip is very grippy. Some kids on my modified school team pick it up and say "I think I'm gonna use this." Overall, it's a great bat and I would recommend it.
Cons: Only con is that when I was playing a scrimmage in a minor league ballpark I placed it in a bat rack and the end got scratched a bit pretty easily, but it's not a problem. Plus, it might have been the rack.
Pros: Looks great, the ball flies if you hit it in the sweet spot. But even if you don't hit it in the sweet spot, it feels nice off the bat.
Cons: None.
Pros: This bat has an amazing amount of pop. More balanced than the red one and a little more pop. I bought this bat and now most of my high school team uses it
Cons: took about 1 month to break in so if it dosent feel amazing out of the wrapper give it some time, its worth the wait
Pros: Great bat. Hit one 360 at the age of 14 with it at Zebulon B. Vance highschool.
Cons:
Pros: Good bat, good pop, and nice grip. I have gotten many solid hits with the bat.
Cons: The only con is that it is a little bit top heavy, but it does not really matter.
Pros: Bought this bat midway through my freshman year, and my BA went from .190 to .330 on the season! I had a Marucci Team before. Great pop, balanced, great grip.
Cons:
Pros: It has horrible pop.
Cons: Everything.
Pros: Light, feels like nothing when hit, lots of pop, feels light.
Cons: Grip is not the best.
Pros: Overall, the bat is great, still is great, sick pop and the satisfaction of hearing the load ping is awesome!
Cons: None!
Pros: I had to switch from -5 to -3 it's a great bat! Performs pretty well out of the wrapper and has tremendous pop. Love the sound it produces as well!
Cons: Paint chips easily.. Also grip isn't very good feels a little cheap
Pros: Really balanced. Really light weight feel.
Cons: Grip could be better but with batting gloves it does its job.
Pros: Best bat I've ever had. Very evenly weight distributed and ginormous pop!!!!
Cons: Grip tape is a little slippery.
Pros: Picked this bat because it was one of the few BBCOR bats to come in 30". My 5'2" 105 lb. sons found it very easy to swing and with good pop.
Cons:
Pros: lot of pop
Cons: none
Pros: 5150 Alloy is way better than DeMarini bats and Easton bats.
Cons: Too much pop.
Pros: Lots of pop the ping sounds great and has a pretty well balanced weight
Cons: Grip is not very good
Pros: My son has swung Nike bats up till we couldn't get them anymore. This bat has the same sound and is as live of a bat as we have seen. he isn't a contact hitter, a pure power hitter and the one piece design works well
Cons: no so far
Pros: I like the bat lots of pop for a BBCOR bat. Well-balanced.
Cons: None
Pros: Great pop and balance. Easy to get through the zone.
Cons: The grip.
Pros: first at bat hit a 570+ bomb to dead center. Great bat i would reccommend this to everyone
Cons: grip is bad
Pros: great pop right out the package love the ping sound price is great!!!! would recomend to anyone locking for a base hiitting bat
Cons: grip is sliprey
Pros: great pop probly better than s1 or xl1
Cons: grip
Pros: amazing pop for a metal bat. bigger sweet spot than any other alloy bat we've swung. light swing weight. great first BBCOR bat. loud ping when hit on the barrel.
Cons: none so far.
Pros: Is a great bat a lot of pop I used it through 50 games now and it still hit like I just got it out of the package
Cons: None
Pros: Great pop, has a nice light feel to it, and i nice look. practically no break in time. GREAT FOR CONTACT HITTERS.
Cons: grip is slick, seems to be more of a contact hitters bat, i have this bat and have swung the black velo, myself being a power hitter i wish i would have bought that bat. but if you are speedy contact guy this is the best bat on the market.
Pros: Good pop balanced looks great
Cons: None
Pros: Pop is amazing for bbcor first hit was to the fence
Cons: The grip
Pros: VERY GOOD BAT FOR EVERY PLAYER OUT ON THE FIELD. BEST BALANCED BBCOR BAT THAT I KNOW OF. THE BALL TRAMPOLINES OFF THE BAT JUST LIKE A BESR BAT. HUGE SWEET SPOT, BIGGER THAN THE OLDER MODEL AND MORE BALANCED. THIS BAT IS SURE TO GIVE YOU MORE BAT SPEED.
Cons: NONE.
Pros: The ball jumps of the bat. This bat has endlesss pop, feels light. If anyone is getting a bbcore bat I would recomend the 5150.
Cons: NONE!!!
Pros: PRO - Previous bat was Marucci Cat5, 31" -5. My son grew 3" to 5'7" and now weighs 130 lb. He had no trouble transitioning to the longer and heavier bat for high school. First two games with new bat, 6 for 6 combined...so good first impression. Excellent bat for the price.
Cons: CON - Nothing bad to say about the bat. I think all comments by the justbats staff are accurate. The bat coach analysis of height and weight puts you onto the correct bat size.
Pros: Son seems to like it..
Cons: Not exactly sure about the pop yet..
Pros: Great pop, ball jumps off of the bat, grip tape is a bit slippery but that's why batting gloves were invented!
Cons: None.
Pros: I have played two weekends with this bat and each hit has sailed to deep outfield. The hit feels great. Great bat at a discounted price.
Cons: None
Pros: Love the trampoline feel when you get a good hit, love the ping. Just an overall great bat.
Cons: Don't have money for another one.
Pros: Pop sound is louder than the ball travels!
Cons: The quality of this bat is POOR! My 10 y/o son, a small kid, 4'6 70 lbs destroyed 4 of these bats within a 4 month period. The first 5150 bat didn't last the first batting practice. The second one didn't survive the first tournament weekend. The third one lasted two tournaments. The last one we received was stamped "NO WARRANTY". I believe it showed up damaged because the first pitch gave us that "Cracked" sound. I trashed it and will not ever buy another Rawlings bat. They replaced each of the first three bats within a week or two.
Pros: Great bat. Has great pop, even when not hitting exactly on the sweet spot. Read about complaints with the grip, but the grip is great. No vibration to speak of, unless you hit it off the very end of the barrel. Gets through the zone really fast and carries through. Thought my son would struggle moving from -10 to -3, but he says, and I see, his swing speed is about the same as it was. For the price this might be the best bat out there.
Cons: None.
Pros: I used this bat during my high school season last year and really liked it. It had pretty good pop out of the package. I love the ping sound it has unlike most other bbcor bats. It's very well balanced and feels very light as well. The only bat i swung that I could really compare it to was the 5150 velo and the Easton S1. I would say out of all bats last year, the S1 had the most pop after it was broken in and the 5150 alloy was second.
Cons: The grip was very comfortable but in less than 3 weeks with the bat, the grip started peeling off and I needed a new grip.
Pros: The pop of this bat is amazing and lasts a long time. It is really light and just overall great.
Cons: The grip is bad if your hands are sweaty. Just tape it instead.
Pros: I like the bat good pop and general feel
Cons: when I hit it the vibration stings my hands
Pros: the bat is very nice balance, after two season the bat has held up nicely
Cons: the finished on the bat on the tip where the end cap keep falling off
Pros: The ball flies off this bat more than any other bat. I have used voodoos, exogrids, and eastons and none of them have had the pop of this bat. Great bat. Recommend it to everyone.
Cons: Nothing
Pros: Lots of pop for aluminum bat.
Cons: none
Pros: This bat has great pop when it is hit on the barrel, and a good feel to it
Cons: A little top heavy, otherwise none
Pros: One of the best bats ever. I feel like I hit the ball farther then a BPF. Great sound, and great pop. I love the trampoline feeling when you hit it square.
Cons: Everyone wants to use it and mark it up.
Pros: Great pop and awesome grip
Cons: hi
Pros: i ordered this bat wesnesday & got it yesterday morning! very fast shipping & i love the bat. lots of pop & feels very balanced & its light. loving it thanks justbats!!
Cons: NONE!
Pros: Great Pop Very balance Good Sweet Spot
Cons: Slippery Grip
Pros: Great grip Cool Graphics Smooth Balanced feel
Cons: Slightly to thick handle compared to other bbcor bats have swung rip it prototype, cf5, voodoo, omaha balanced and exogrid and i like this overall one the best.
Pros: The 5150 is a great bat for anyone. I had used my friend's 2011 model and I loved it. This bat is even better! It has great pop right out of the rapper. It looks beautiful, sounds beautiful, and feels beautiful. It is great and for this price it is a steal. I found it to better than the 2014 VOODOO. (my opinion)
Cons: The grip feels slick if you aren't wearing batting gloves.
Pros: Very little vibration with contact anywhere on the bat. Bat is very balanced and easy to swing.
Cons: Grip is not great. Small sweet spot. Have to hit the ball right on the sweet spot to get the ball to travel at all.
Pros: This is an amazing bat, after ending my freshman year in High School its safe to say this bad gives you the best bang for your buck
Cons: Absolutely none
Pros: the pop on this bat is incredible it is better than my 2013 voodoo and my vexxum i love the feel of the bat too everyone on my team has this bat
Cons: have not found any
Pros: best bat ever balanced better then voodoo cf5 and all Easton bats
Cons: nothing yet
Pros: Great pop off the bat, light swing weight and very stylish too!
Cons: None!
Pros: Looks cool.
Cons: Small sweet spot, you have to hit the ball in a certain spot for it to explode off the bat. Not well balanced. I like the VELO much better it is more balanced.
Pros: I bought this bat and i loved it. It has great pop. Every time i hit the ball, it comes out flying. It is very well balanced and feels very light for a -3 bat. Although it is best for contact hitters, I am a power hitter and I already have 2 BOMBS this season.
Cons: Grip is Slippery.
Pros: I was hitting with a Easton reflex and didn't hit too well switched and I hit one 320 feet on a light swing
Cons: None at all
Pros: The ball really explodes off the ball. Not expensive. Worth every penny.
Cons: not alot of pop
Pros: got this bat for the begining of baseball season and i love it today in our first game i hit a shot about 320 feet to right feild and im only 5.5 and 115 pounds so you dont have to be big to swing this bat the balance is amazing!!!
Cons: grip is slipery without batting gloves but other than that nothing
Pros: Has tremendous pop, distance and pre BB-COR ping sound that turns heads when hit well. For the price, this is one of best buys on the market, especially for players who outgrow their bats quickly.
Cons: None
Pros: This bat is freaking amazing! Im a freshman in high school that could bearly swing a bbcor bat last year, that now (swinging this bat in a 31.5/28.5) has a .455 batting avergage in varsity. Great feel, great pop, and great balance!
Cons: not a single one
Pros: Great bat, great feel, great pop, and the weight is distributed evenly throughout the bat.
Cons: The grip tape is horrible and will most likely need to be replaced and the paint on the know wears out easily.
Pros: The Rawlings 5150 Custom Alloy is a very nice and durable bat. The bat swing is very evenly balanced, it has very very low bat vibration, it has a nice design, it has very good and excellent pop, and is very reliable. This is a very good bat I would recommend the bat to contact and power hitters out there. This is the best bat I've had ever!
Cons: ABSOLUTELY NONE AT ALL
Pros: When i got this bat, it was outstanding. It had tons of pop and a great feel.
Cons: Not very durable. After a couple of months the pop is GONE. This bat is not very expensive so if you don't mind buying a new one every 4 months or so, this is a great bat for you
Pros: fantastic feel, quick through the zone, power or contact hitters
Cons: none
Pros: Great for the price, I prefer it over the Easton Mako, it has great pop, and its great for the price!!
Cons: It seems like the sweet spot is kind of in, the barrel doesnt give you the best pop, so try to get more in on the plate.
Pros: Excellent bat. I have been using it for about 2 months now. Great grip and you can get a good feel on it. I can get it quick through the zone and my hitting has improved tremendously.
Cons: None except the knob is getting scratched up pretty easily.
Pros: Good Pop, Bestt BBcor bat on the market, good feel, balenced weight, feels light.
Cons: Dented near the end cap but this was after an entire year of showcase baseball, hs summer/fall/ spring seson (about 200 games) and 3 people on the hs team used my bat so still very durable.
Pros: Best bat in the market right now.
Cons: to much pop
Pros: Good pop for a bb core very lightweight and grip is good
Cons: NONE
Pros: Good pop, evenly weighted
Cons: vibration, bad grip
Pros: one of most durable bats ever. i has 5 from three years ago and bought two new makos for this season. the makos were a total waste because my boys refuse to use them.
Cons: the reason the know gets dented and scratched is because of miss use.
Pros: this bat is very light and it has a bunch if pop, if you hit the ball right it flys through the air, or fast on the ground
Cons: Really? Did this ask if this bat has cons? my answer is non
Pros: Only had it for a couple of games and it has good pop, balanced, and feels great when you make contact.
Cons: Slippery grip
Pros: Great pop, very balance and not end loaded, ball flys of the bat, sounds great
Cons: grip isn't great, your hands will feel it when you take one off the end of the bat
Pros: I have no idea why anyone would plunk down $200-300 for a BBCOR bat when this bat is available for much less. I've hit with the high priced bats and this is as good, if not better.
Cons: None so far, I've used it about 1 month.
Pros: Very light swing and great pop and also very forgiving when not hitting on the sweet spot
Cons: Grip could be better
Pros: Great pop its is one of the best balanced bbcor bats on the market. feels good in your hands if you put a lizard skins grip on it.
Cons: Grip isn't all that great.
Pros: My son hit .400 on the season for varsity with a 32" as a sophomore. He was the only soph selected for the all district team. Looking to purchase the next size up this year.
Cons: Other players on the team always looking to hit with his 5150.
Pros: This bat has a great amount of pop! It feels good coming off the bat with no stingers and is balanced for quick bat speed through the zone.
Cons: None this is a great bat at a low price!
Pros: Great pop for a one piece bat. Usually an Easton guy but i thought I'd give this one a try and am very glad I did. Overall great bat.
Cons: "Slick" grip (hard to grip without batting gloves).
Pros: I am a switch hitter (natural righty). I always had a problem from the left because i could never get the bat around quick enough. Since getting the 5150, my swing on both sides has quickened and are almost similar. The overall feel is great! Ive tried the easton s1, mako, and xl1 and they dont come close to the quality and results of the 5150. rawlings has been improving every piece of their equipment and their bat will continue to be the best.
Cons: Underrated
Pros: My son has used the 5150 since he was 10 years old. He has tried other brands but has always come back to the 5150. He is now 14 and this is the first year he has to use BBCOR. We are currently hitting indoors so distance is hard to predict but it seems to be just as special as all the others he has used. Don't think he will trust any other bat.
Cons: Scratches easy but doesnt bother him. The production is what counts!!
Pros: This bat as a huge sweet spot and great balance for bat speed. Was hitting around 250-300 with my mako then made the change and now am hitting 300-400 it delivers tanks
Cons: horrible grip but put tape over it and smash
Pros: I was in a hitting slump early on in the season last year. Trying every single bat that was available. Once I started using this bat I noticed the amount of pop it had even compared to the 400 dollar Cf5 was tremendous. The ball flies of the bat and the feeling is great. Hit my first HR and looking forward towards another great season with this bat.
Cons: Tape on the bat wasn't the best but I used hockey tape to cover over.
Pros: This bat is very durable and is not loaded at either end. It works very well right out of the wrapper and breaks in very quickly. It is better for line drive and contact hitters as opposed to power hitters because the pop isn't like a demarini or a mako.
Cons: Pop isnt as good as I hoped.
Pros: this bat is amzaing i play high school baseball right now and this bat is great. The bat is even and smooth with tramensous pop to make the ball fly, all the 5150 bats are good ive been useing them since i was in coach pitch .
Cons: I usally go out and buy "lizard skin" bat grip cost about 10$ but is really good MLB perfered
Pros: Easy to get around but other than that not a good all around bat
Cons: Vibrates very often, grip is slippery, and handle scuffs very easy creates a grey halo around handle within a month
Pros: this is a very light bat with good pop and a huge sweat spot overall this is a great buy
Cons: none
Pros: Balanced lots of pop cool look
Cons: Grips not great but batting gloves work

About the Brand
Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
