Velo Great Bat Cissy Boynton parent
Pros: Son loves this bat. Great all around. Great hit, nice sound and minimal vibration. Home runs and 3 base hits with ease.
Cons: None
Great Bat JB parent
Pros: Son used it for the first time today. He is 10, 5'1" and 80 pounds. Hit one double into the fence and one triple over LF's head. Got a 2013 model just recently at a heavy discount. Great deal if you keep in mind, You get what you pay for!
Cons: It is early, but one CON is that after one game the paint at the end of the barrel is chipping off.
son prefers over his Mako J Nichols parent
Pros: Bought this one pretty cheap and bought mako for umm.... not cheap. Son loves the Velo. Bat speed is definitely better for him. Ball just jumps off this one. Even missing the sweet spot, the ball carries. His teammates are swinging tge mako
Cons: What's with that sound? Had two coaches ask me if bat was broken. It definitely has its own sound.
Love this bat GMC player
Pros: Balance Look Four hits in the first seven at-bats, including two doubles. Stepped up from 31/21 Vexxum to 31/22 Velo. The balance is incredible. Feels lighter! Love the sound too. Heads turn when the ball comes off the bat.
Cons: Handle is on the thicker side
Rawlings Velo Bomber player
Pros: This bat has so much pop in it it's like it hates the ball so it pushes it forward. Used it at practice and everybody wanted to use it. Hit the fence too a couple of times
Cons: The lettering is like a sticker but the performance is great
Great Bat Monkeyman117 player
Pros: Very balanced bat. it feels lighter than my 2012 demarini vexxum which is only 20 oz. has excellent pop right out of the box.
Cons: none
Terrible durability Brandon Boyce player
Pros: The bat does have good pop. Very loud sound.
Cons: I used this bat in 4 bp sessions and there are 4 dents, 3 cracks and paint chips in spots.
Out of the wrapper average joe parent
Pros: Amazing Pop out of the wrapper. My son is 10 and weighs 90 lbs. He has hit the ball solid in comp all year and put a few to the fence. He has been hitting the Easton S3 29/19 and the Easton XL3 29/20 with no home runs. I bought this 30/21 for 11u next year but he wanted to try it in a game. First game 3 for 3 with a back to back Grand Slam and 3 run homer. The bat is well balanced and he seems to swing it as fast or faster than his XL3.
Cons: So Far we have only heard roomers of longevity issues. However, for $79 and two home runs day one I already got my moneys worth.
Exceptional Value Cabbage parent
Pros: Sound-when you hit it everyone knows it. Balanced bat with slight head weight for power up the middle. Head to head with the Easton XL3 - this bat is as good if not better. very quick through the zone.
Cons: when you miss, you miss. The barrel / sweet spot isn't as big as the Easton XL3, but thats ok if you are looking for a bat that makes you focus on quality contact
Pretty good bat. Coach Dusty parent
Pros: Nice pop. Good durability. Nicely balance bat for my 11 yr old.
Cons: Bat grip needs an upgrade.
velo elite baseball player
Pros: has tons of pop has a big sweet spot and it is vey light if you want bat speed this is a good bat for you the handle is really sticky and its just a great all around bat
Cons: none
"Very good bat" Coach T. parent
Pros: Got this bat for my 11 year old son. He is mainly a contact hitter, but can hit for some power from time time to time. he says he really likes it. It has tons of pop and overall great feel.
Cons: The only one is that the grip is a little big.
Bargain drop 9 bat 1bigkid coach
Pros: This is a great choice for a bat under $100. Lots of pop you can see it rocket off the barrel even when you don't crush it on the sweet spot. Very balanced and feels lighter then a lot of drop 10 bats. Has a very thick handle like some wood bats if you like that. Everyone playing and everyone watching will know when you hit it (PaPING!). I've seen defenders flinch on routine ground balls because of the extremely loud ping. Very stiff one piece bat great for power hitters but balanced enough for just about anyone to use. We put away our XL1's, Attacks, CF5's and go with this on colder days. Plenty of abuse and no dents so far.
Cons: A little vibration but that is to be expected on a one piece. Too loud for indoor practice one round and your ears will be ringing. Not a very good grip I had to invest in a .5 lizard skin. Old grip was slick and the handle is extra thick.
Rallings velo sheppard graf player
Pros: The first day I got the bat I had practice and we where doing batting practice and I hit a homer within my first few piches and I also hit one on top of the fence. over all the bat is great.
Cons: none

Why doesn't this bat come in other sizes? Sean
Is this bat as balanced as the -10, -5, or BBCOR series? Joey
My 13 yr old really wants a Rawlings Velo this yr. Problem is he really needs to be swinging a-8 this yr which Rawlings does not make. Ideally he would use a 31/23. He has been swinging a 26.5 oz wood bat in the cage and handling it pretty well. My question is do we jump up to a -5 31/26 Velo or maybe go with a -9 32/23 and use a choke up ring to get it to a 31". Does adding the ring make it like swinging a -8 or not. He plays on a major level travel team and I want to do what is best for him Thanks MW

About the Brand
Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
