Pros: Graphics are cool, seems to hit ok.
Cons: Worst grip I have ever felt. I would not have bought this bat if I had felt it before buying.
BronxBomber
Pros: Sweet graphics
Cons: The barrel is very small compared to every other $299 bat I have seen/used. I am dissappointed. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, the grip is not good on this bat.
Homer
Pros: This is without question the best BBCOR bat I have ever hit with. I tried this bat in a batting cage, as well as all of the other top BBCOR bats. This bat blew away the competition. It has a loud ping noise when it hits. I just don't understand why the two people who have given a review basically said the only problem is that the grip is hard, and they gave it two stars? The grip is fine as long as you wear batting gloves. Everyone where's them anyway. Awesome bat and the barrel is no smaller than any other bat out there.
Cons: None.
CC
Pros: Best Rawlings bat i have ever hit with. Amazing pop on this bat. Very well balanced.
Cons: Grip is bad without batting gloves, but with batting gloves its very good.
jetman
Pros: This bat has good pop and feels good of the bat but the ball simply doesn't go far. It feels like you blast one but its just a fly ball.
Cons: not a lot of length off the bat, grip isn't good
nick
Pros: This is definitely the best BBCOR bat - very very big sweet spot. Well balanced. I also like the cosmetic. Look very nice!
Cons: None
Chad
Pros: I switched from DeMarini Voodoo to this Rawlins bat and I am very impressed. Great pop and very well balanced. Just a great bat love it.
Cons: None
TED
Pros: Best BBCOR bat there is (and I've hit most of them). Hard to believe, but it is more solid than last year's model. The ball seems to fly off. No vibration, great graphics. I also love the grip.
Cons: None.
Tom D
Pros: Best BBCOR on the market (and I hve hit a number of them). This one is better than last years Velo model, which I loved. It is perfectly balanced and the ball flys off the bat. Some have complained about the grip, but I love it.
Cons: None that I have seen so far.
Fireman
Pros: It is by far the best bat I have used. It has pop and shows to be 5-8 mph faster bat speed which helps at the varsity level. Great feel in the handle. I Like it better than the 5150 which was my last bat.
Cons: Only hang up is trying to find it. Stores are afraid to stock bats not knowing what is going to be hot or what is going to be disallowed. Hopefully, in the next couple weeks they will have them in because it is time to buy High School bats!

Aloha from Hi.

JD
Pros: Took my first BP with my 2013 VELO. It has a very well balanced swing as advertised, good sweet spot, and a great sound on contact.
Cons: None, so far.
HSballer11
Pros: Good pop off of the bat, love the sound when you hit it solid, very lightweight which causes great bat speed, overall great bat!
Cons: The grip isn't too good, wish it had the same grip as last year's velo, still a great bat!
Jimbo
Pros: Very great bat. Hit in cages with it and noticed this bat has a ton of pop! I Love it! Its is also very balanced so you can get it through the zone fast. Highly suggest this bat!
Cons: Grip is a little thin, but with batting gloves it isnt noticeable.
Hbros
Pros: Good Solid alloy with POP, Rawlings has a good product.
Cons: old metal sound on contact.
batboy225
Pros: Love the pop of the bat, send the ball flying no matter what. Best bat i could think of using.
Cons: There is nothing wrong at all with this bat.
Billy
Pros: Good pop for a BBCOR bat! Very balanced feel, not end-heavy, good swing speed compared to Easton competitors.
Cons: Grip is cheap, but we replaced it and it is fine now.
Fvargas
Pros: Great Bat! Balance and has good pop.
Cons: The grips are bad! Rawlings need to improve the grips on this bat. This is one of the best bats in the market for 2013.
nickwinn16
Pros: I couldn't find a bat better than this one. I hit every one of my teammates bats which include the CF5, VooDoo, Vexxum, Velo, 5150, Marrucci Team, XL1, S1, S2 and Rival. No one beat the Velo. The pop is uncomparable and the balance is perfect. The look is sick. And it hits solid.
Cons: Grip hurts bare hands, but I use gloves anyway.
BA
Pros: Great bat. Good pop and great handle.
Cons:
Perfect Game Baseball
Pros: Best bat out right now! I first used the Easton S1, but when my friend got the VELO its a whole different world. Great Pop, balance, feel, and look. VELO > S1 and its 100$ cheaper. MUST BUY

Cons: The handle is terrible. Order a grip when you order the bat
Baseball Dad
Pros: Has lots of pop. Grest balance. Best BBCOR bat I have seen.

Pros: I hit it 40ft farther than normal. Balanced and very quick swing feeling and a massive sweetspot.
Cons: Just the grip is slippery without batting gloves
Oliver B
Pros: Nice pop.. Balanced
Cons: I had the 5150 VELO and it had a slightly lighter swing weight...... Also.... the 5150 Velos bat grip was very soft and starts to rip very easily so they made up for it with a rock hard grip.....
cody

Cons: Cheap grip, had to replace halfway through the season.
james
Pros: great bat! lot of pop. balanced
Cons:
Mike T
Pros: Has much better pop than other BBCOR bats. Also if you like the ping that BESR bats made, this bat makes that same intimidating sound on contact unlike the dead sound of most BBCOR bats.
Cons: None.
Dub
Pros: Well balanced Nice Pop I was smokin the ball right away
Cons: None
High School Coach Coach Pierce parent
Pros: Very good balanced bat. Sounds awesome indoors when hit on the sweet spot but more importantly it just flat out has good Pop like the 5150. Any high school player would enjoy this bat without having to spend a ton of money. It was between the Omaha Attack or the Velo, and my son picked the Velo.
Cons: None so far, holding up well.
Cincybaseball2017789
Pros: I am 6' and 175 lbs. What inch bat should I be swinging?
Cons: None.
My son loves this bat. Paul coach
Pros: My son is a 5-6, 110 lbs and needed a balanced BBCOR bat. This is his first year having to go to BBCOR. The BBCOR standard is tough on smaller kids, who struggle swinging the bigger bats with less pop. My son was swinging Combat Potent BBCOR and could not get it through the zone, and was only hitting weak grounders. The Combat was too end loaded, and had no pop. Purchased the Velo, and he loves it. Great pop, nice sound--he can actually get the ball into the gaps now. Good balance for the smaller kids, which makes a huge difference for my son. It has raised his confidence a ton.
Cons: none yet
Awesome bat!!! trae coleman player
Pros: this bat have excellent pop!!!!

Amazing bat Clint player
Pros: Loud ping, great pop, great hits, beautiful design.
Cons: Without batting gloves, the grip is crappy. It will fly out of your hands if you don't wear gloves.
Hands down the best BBCOR bat out there. Chris parent
Pros: WOW! Great Pop immediately. My 13 year old gets this around faster than his S1, his Omaha TPX and his CF 5. Sorry boys he just does. Im a dad that has tried all the hype bats and trust me this bat is soooo good his confidence is through the roof.
Cons: Zero
Greatness_30 Lou player
Pros: Huge pop. Loud ping. Lasts through bp and games for over 2 seasons.
Cons: Grip is thin and slippery. Not a big sweet spot(though it teaches you to square the ball up)

Alloy Pop with BBC OR Bat! Jho Dad parent
Pros: Son had the Rip It Prototype. It was too end heavy and dead feeling. This Rawlings Velo is the Real Deal! Son cannot put it down literally. Loves hitting it. Loud alloy pop...ball explodes off the barrel. He will use it in a 14U tourney this weekend. Standby for followup post.
Cons: Very LOUD ping like traditional alloy bats!
velo the bomb player
Pros: great pop odd sweet spot
Cons: off the last 2 inches it has 0 pop
Great Bat LBaseball0403 player
Pros: I've had it for about a week, it had tremendous pop straight out of the box. Has a very loud ping to it unlike most BBCOR bats. I am very happy that I purchased it. I like the sleek design and the balanced feel. Compared to my friend's CF6 and performed very well.
Cons: Grip is okay but not great (will be switched) The barrel looks smaller then my friend's CF6, although it didn't effect performance at all.

iPlayCollegeBall
Pros: This bat hits very well for a contact hitters who tend to have a slower bat speed. If you have really quick hands and tend to be a power hitter then this really isn't the bat for you. It does hit the ball hard, but only in warm weather. Very balanced which goes back to being a contact hitters bat, so there's not enough weight behind the swing to really power the ball out the park.
Cons: It sounds like the ball is hit harder than it actually is. No pop in cold weather.
Rawling Velo 5150 Will player
Pros: Well-balanced, light, and has an insane amount of pop
Cons: You may get tired running so many bases
cc:ccc jj*jjj player
Pros: Very big sweet spot lot better than my easton and voodoo
Cons: None
easy choice Randy Baseballplayer player
Pros: this bat has great pop, very balanced , barely any vibration, huge barrel, very very light(31 29) barely weights anything. if your picky like me stop thinking so much and just get it!!
Cons: use batting gloves or you will mess up the grip but nothing to worry about
Great Bat Nolan player
Pros: Fantastic sound and pop Great Grip Just a well rounded bat really well balanced easy to get around
Cons: none

It is an ok bat. Name player
Pros: It has good pop
Cons: I am a power hitter and I have been working on getting quicker hands. I have been hitting in the cage with it and it is ok. I do not really like the way this bat hits. Maybe this bat is just not for me. I will be sending this one back and getting the 5150. Save money and get the 5150 it is an all around better bat.

Hi I am a 6,1ft. 190lb. 15yr. old. I will be going into my sophmore year this year. I don't know what classification I am. Either a power hitter or a contact hitter. I am sort of slow and I never get triples and I only get doubles off of errors or if I hit it to the fence. I can hit the ball hard and to the fence and I will probably hit it over this year. But at the same time I hardly ever strike out and I hit the ball in the gap, I am very good at getting on base and I have a great average. I have narrowed it down to 2 options of what I should buy. Either the 2013 Rawlings Velo or the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo. Can you help me out? big_Josh/34

About the Brand
Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.
The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.
In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.
In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.
The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.
Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
