Ask A QuestionMy son is in 8U baseball and I was thinking about getting him a bigger bat barrel. We have been using a Easton Typhon 28 inch and off the top of my head I think its a -12 or -13 drop. I feel that him playing with a 2 1/4 inch bat is the way to go but when we play tournaments it seems the other teams are all using the bigger barrels and it does give them a little more pop. So I want to buy him one and just really undecided what to buy him. This Worth bat seems pretty nice and has some good reviews but I would really like some inside help here on what to buy him.
The unfortunate thing about the bat market today is that there are literally dozens of high end bats out there all of which offer great pop. This can make the shopping process very difficult, but it's even more difficult to make a bad choice. If he had success with the Typhoon, I would recommend sticking with a one piece alloy design. In the $100 price range, the SLP102 is hard to beat. It has great pop and a large sweetspot. The only other bat in that price range I think could rival the Prodigy is the Rival from Easton. I still may give the Prodigy a slight advantage in terms of overall pop though. I think it will be a great choice for your son.
Any chance to still get a 29" 19 oz?
The Worth Lithium Edge Prodigy: SLP102 has been discontinued. We do have the 2013 Worth Prodigy Legit: SLP234 Senior League in a 29" 19 oz.
