Questions and Answers for 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFR-LE Senior League
What is the difference between this CF5 and the new CF6?
The main differences are that DeMarini CF6 features a new Paradox composite and the D-Fusion handle that helps to eliminate vibration.
My son is 13, 5', & 187 lbs. I'm considering a 30" -8 bat. He is a contact hitter. Which would be best for him? The DeMarini CF5 LE or Marucci MSBB 148?
Although both are fantastic, I prefer the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFR-LE Senior League. The two-piece fully composite design will be great. Plus, the bat's lighter swing feel will help his bat speed through the zone.
My son will be in 11U next season and decided on 30" model, but not sure on -10 or -8? Right now he is 5 "1 105 lbs and good strength. They say it swings light?
The DeMarini CF5 LE is a very balanced bat, so if the player has good strength and swing speed it would hurt to go up to a -8 to generate more power.
What size should I get? I'm 11 weigh 100 lbs and swing a drop 12.
We recommend a 30" oz. 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFR-LE Senior League.
Which is better, the 2014 COMbat Portent or the 2013 CF5-LE?
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFR-LE Senior League and the 2014 COMBAT Portent: PORSL108 Senior League are both high performing composite bats. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFR-LE will have more flex and is best suited for a contact hitter.
When does the CF6 come out?
The 2014 DeMarini CF6 will be out sometime in the fall of 2013.
Is the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFR-LE Senior League Baseball Bat approved for Babe Ruth League?
No, the DeMarini CF5 is a full composite design. Babe Ruth requires full composite bats to be BBCOR approved.
Is the barrel on the -8 longer than - 10?
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFR-LE Senior League and the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League will have a similar barrel size.
Would you be able to use a composite CF5 bat in a cage with yellow dimpled balls if the bat has a tuff sleeve on it?
No, I still never recommend using any bat with the yellow dimpled balls unless it is strictly a cage bat.
How does this compare to the silver model? Is it any better? And why can't you use composite bats in cages that use yellow dimpled balls?
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFR-LE Senior League bat will be exactly the same as the regular 2013 CF5. Only the color scheme will be different. The dimpled balls can actually be more dense and heavy than real baseballs which can damage your baseball bat.
Which bat should I get my son? He is 12 years old, 5' 8" and 135 lbs and he hits the ball hard. Should I get the 2014 Voodoo, CF5 or Marucci Elite?
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFR-LE Senior League is a two-piece composite that is well balanced bat in a -8. The Marucci Elite is slightly more balanced and is lighter, as it is a -10 two-piece hybrid with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo: DXVDR Senior League is also a two-piece hybrid design with an alloy barrel and composite handle, but is an end loaded in a -9. If he's a power hitter, we'd recommend going with the Voodoo; if he's more of a contact hitter, we'd recommend the Elite or CF5.
What do the numbers mean on the end of the barrel?
The numbers at the end of the barrel on the 2013 DeMarini CF5 LE: DXCFR-LE Senior League indicate how far to rotate the barrel when breaking in the bat. You should rotate the bat approximately 1/4" every swing.
