The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult used a completely new composite and alloy. The 2013 uses a TR3 F.L.O Composite handle and a X10 Alloy barrel, while the 2012 uses a SC4 Alloy barrel and a TR3 Strut Composite handle.

Hi! my son is interested in this bat and I am planning on getting it for him. I need to know what size. He is 5'6" and about 135-140 pounds. He works out a lot and doesn't have any fat so he is very strong. His hitting instructor said if he can swing a 33" he should, but if he can't, then not to. He has used both a 33" and a 32" and did well with both. He felt more comfortable with the extra inch on the 33". Keep in mind he is very strong and can get around with both.
The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult bat is a great model. This bat does have an end loaded swing weight to it. It will feel barrel heavy. Power hitters tend to love this bat. If he has never swung an end loaded bat before I would buy the 32". If he has, and is familiar with the swing weight and feel then you could bump it up to the 33". Using the Bat Coach feature on www.JustBats.com I was able to determine that at his height and weight a 31"-32" was recommended. Since it sounds like he can create his own bat speed then going up to the 33" should not be a problem. Just make sure he is familiar with the Voodoo's end loaded feel.

Based on your height and weight we recommend a 32" bat. Both the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult and the Easton S1 have great pop. The 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult will be more end loaded and stiffer than the Easton S1. The Easton S1 is very balanced and provides a lot of flex. The Voodoo will be hot out of the wrapper and the Easton S1 will require a break-in period.

My son is 13yrs old- approximately 105 lbs, 5'5 or so. Pretty strong kid. I think they say he needs 31 in for size and at 14 the regulations are for -5 bat. For bats, with a -5 length to weight ratio, the Marucci CAT5 PREBCOR would have the most even weight distribution which would make the bat feel lighter. The highest performing bats with a -5 length to would be the DeMarini Voodoo, Easton XL series, the Anderson NanoTek, or the Metalstorm White Dragon.

In the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR video Ryan was just making sure to highlight that this 2013 model of the DXVDC was re-certified to meet the BBCOR certification standards. The construction defers a bit from the 2012 model.

The are actually both end loaded. The only difference is the Rip-It is a one piece and the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR is a two-piece.

At 5'9" 160 lbs, moving right into a 33 inch model would be just fine. That is the recommended size for you and will not be too dramatic of a jump up.

Both are great bats. The Voodoo will have a little more of an end loaded feel compared to the Vexxum. If you have good swing speed and decent strength, the Voodoo may be a better option. If you do not think you have the strength and swing speed to handle the end loaded feel of Voodoo, then the Vexxum may be a better option.

The Voodoo is very similar and will be just about the same as the Marucci Black. The Easton S1, however, has a composite barrel and not an alloy barrel like the Black or Voodoo. The S1 will require a break in, but will get better the more you use it.
