We do not have an exact ETA on the release of a 2014 line of Power Brigade bats. The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult bat and the other 2013 models were released about October of last year.
Is there a big difference between the BB11S3 and the BB13S3? Is the BB11S3 a legal high school bat? Thank you.
There is no difference between the 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult bat and the Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult bat. They are both BBCOR certified, and legal for high school play.

These are two completely different bats. The 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult is a balanced one-piece alloy bat. The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR: DXVDC Adult is a two-piece bat that has a composite handle and alloy barrel that is going to feel slightly end loaded.
How much would I have to pay for an S1 or XL1 if the S3 were to break?
If the 2013 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB13S3 Adult bat were to break down the line and you went through Easton to get your replacement. I'm sure they would just make you pay the difference of the S3 to the S1 or XL1.

Both the 2013 Easton S3 and 2013 Easton S4 BBCOR bats are well balanced with light swing weights. However, because the S4 has a smaller barrel at 2 1/2", it will have an even lighter swing weight than the S3. So, if he has well below average strength and swing speed, the S4 is recommended. If he has average strength and swing speed, the S3 is recommended.
