Description

New for It's time to step your game up to the NeXT level. The Miken NXT Freak is the bat that's going to take you there. By combining the most advanced layering handle system on the market with Miken's new HBF Technology, the NXT Freak is clearly a cut above the competition. HBF, or Hyperbolic Barrel Flex, Technology allows the multi-layer walls of the NXT Freak to become "fully released" for hot out of the wrapper performance! The proprietary layering of these walls extends the barrel flex to produce a 20% larger sweetspot. Vortex Handle Technology also uses multiple layers, and harnesses the power of composite braids to distribute the load evenly and increase the bat's strength. This also helps all layers move seamlessly together for optimal flex and performance. The whole bat is made from Miken's classic R900 Composite that has proven year after year that it is capable of enduring grueling play and delivering unrivaled performance. Enhancing the NXT Freak's durability even further is Miken's proprietary Durashell Technology (DST). DST acts as a composite shield on the outer shell to maximize out of the wrapper performance and overall bat longevity. An Extreme X-Tack Grip finishes off the NXT Freak to give players the comfort and tack they would expect from a bat this phenomenal. Miken: We Don't Play the Game, We Dominate It! The NXT Freak is approved for play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: Very nice bat. Good size hotspot. Stay away from the end but the rest is sweet. If I lost it I would buy another tomorrow.

Cons: Out of the box the graphics had a tiny wrinkle. I thought it was a crack. It freaked me out but bat performs great!

Pros: Great Grip, feel, and weight. Has good pop, and with some break in I think it could be a beast. I just got about 1-15 quality hits on it today. I Usually swing a balanced bat, so its taking a little bit of getting used to. Hit about 6 DEEP bombs with it today though (out of those 15)

Cons: Grip gets dirty fast, and for a balanced swinger, the weight is very different and very end-loaded. But, that weight adds to the power of the bat A LOT. Sweet spot doesnt seem very large right out of the wrapper. Ill re post after its completely broken in.

Pros: I posted a review on this bat when I first got it and gave it 4/5 stars. I am amending that with a 5/5 star rating. After getting used to the weight and breaking it in, its an absolute beast. I average at least a HR per game with this in my bag. I've always been a power hitter, but, this has definitely given me the edge I was looking for. The graphics are awesome too. Miken did an awesome job. No need to be afraid of ASA's classifications. Worth the $299.99

Cons: Like I said before, the weight feels very end-loaded for those of you that are worried about bat speed. But if you have the strength and speed to swing it, the end-load with add extreme power, even to miss-hits. The grip gets dirty a little fast, but who cares. I cant recall having a "pretty" bat that was used frequently.

Pros: I got this bat 2 weeks ago and have hit with it a few times since then. The first hit out of the wrapper sounded AMAZING!! The feel of the bat is incredible. The ball screams off of this bat even straight out of the wrapper. This bat is hotter out of the wrapper than some other 200 and 300 dollar bats I've used after they were broken in. This bat will definitely be a popular one!! I am extremely glad I picked this bat. I was considering this Miken NXT Freak Supermax and the Worth 454 Legit. I'm very glad I picked the Miken over the Worth. Also, the matte white paint on this bat looks awesome!!

Cons: If I were forced to pick a con with this bat, it'd be the white color only because it gets dirty easier. I tend to like darker bats because they don't get as nasty looking as white bats. This is still a great looking bat though.

Pros: I don't care what kind of rating my review gets, but I am very thankful for Miken and the pride they have for America. "Made in the USA" is printed on every bat I have seen. I am proud to be an AMERICAN and I am glad to buy from a bat company who is proud of it too.

Cons: The DC-41 is not ASA. Would love to get a piece of that.

Pros: feels good, hit a homerun after 3 hits. Good pop off the bat for line drives, Does need some time to break in. my friend loves it and uses it all the time. i used a worth blue mayhem balanced bat for the last 2 years and imay need time to adjust to an end loaded bat. other than that, the bat does feel good to swing

Cons: sounded a little different from the blue worth mayhem, which felt awkward. I bought the 28 oz and should have went down to a 27 oz

Pros: I can honestly say that I absolutely hated Miken bats before I bought this bat. This bat is the best bat that I have ever bought. I have always used a balanced Easton, so it did take a little time to get used to using the end loaded. I will say that once you get used to it you will hit 20-30% more power than you had before. If I could I would buy a stock pile!

Cons: It does take some time to get used to the end loaded feel if you are not used to it. Also feels like it takes some time to break in even though it says that it is already broken in.

Pros: The end load takes over on this bat, even on a bad swing. On a good fundamental swing this bat will shock you. Ground balls in the infield are hard to field and liners to the outfield are hard to run down in the gaps. Good power bat. Good design, and has strength to last a long time.

Cons: None.

Pros: This bat is a beast. Sean finally got it out of the infield. Logan was able to make slight contact, even though he fouled out. Awesome. Sean grounded out to the 2nd baseman but the ball really exploded off the bat. Real nice sound.

Cons: Read all the good reviews thought this was a sure thing. Have put alot of swings on this bat and not happy with its performance. Endload is not for me. I've hit homers with every bat i've ever owned except this one. I can hit further with my old metal bat than this thing.

Pros: Just got my bat in yesterday and took it to batting cage and the pop off the bat is crazy even though those are mush balls, the sweet spot on this bat is huge and work better with a nice soft swing rather then having to try and kill the ball!!! Ryan
I've been hearing about the new bats that are going to be mandatory in 2013. It sounds like this will be a legal bat to use in 2013 and beyond. Am I right? Stanger
Yes, the 2012 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA has the USSSA Stamp on it and will be legal for 2013.
Ryan
Do they make a balanced model for the NXT Freak? scoop
Miken does make a balanced Freak: http://www.justbats.com/product/2013-miken-nxt-freak-balanced-asa--snxtba-slow-pitch/15039/
Ryan
I am getting this bat! I have never swung an end loaded bat. What is the difference between an end loaded bat and a balanced bat? BiggDawg
End loaded bats, like the 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA, will seem heavier than a balanced bat, because the weight is distributed towards the end of the bat. This technology can help increase the velocity of the ball on contact.
Shelbe
So does that mean this bat is not legal to use till 2013? IronMonkey1
The 2013, in the product name for the 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA: SNXTMA Slow Pitch means that this is Miken's 2013 and newest model. This bat is ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF approved for play this year and the stamps make it legal through 2013.
Kole
Will it be leagal for ASA not just for 2013, but for more years to come? SwingingSwinging
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA has the new stamp on it, which makes is legal for use in 2013 and beyond. This bat will be legal for use in the years after 2013 as long as the rule don't change again.
Jennifer
Since this bat is both ASA and USSSA approved does it consist of less power as compared to the USSSA version of this bat? DA
Yes. ASA bats have a more strict standard to meet compared to USSSA. The USSSA version will have a higher BPF and will perform better because of this.
Tyler
Hey Guys, I'm looking to buy a slow pitch softball bat. I've been looking at the NXT and not sure what the right size would be for me. I'm 6'2 215. I usually use a stealth 27oz and a Demarini 30 oz. What would be a good size? Joe
Based on your information, I recommend a 28 oz. 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA SNXTMA.
Tyler
I am a power hitter on my team. I currently use the DeMarini Flyswatter and hit BOMBS. It's a balanced bat , this is end loaded. Does this mean I will hit the ball further/harder with an end loaded bat ? god father
An end loaded bat like the 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA will provide more power, as long as you can pull the bat through the zone. If you have quick enough bat speed the SuperMax would be a great choice.
KB
I am a female playing coed slow pitch would this work for me? I'm about 5'5 150lbs Molley
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA is end loaded and best suited for a power hitter. A balanced bat like the 2013 Miken NXT Freak Balanced ASA: SNXTBA would be better suited for you.
KB
I am looking for a good ASA bat. Would you recommend the Miken NXT Freak or the Worth Resmondo? eagle
Since the 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA and the Worth Resmondo are similar in the construction and design, they will be similar in performance. They are both end loaded bats with extended sweet spots and great pop.
Jennifer
How does this bat compare to the Freak FX700? big6ft4
Both the 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax and the Freak FX700 are one-piece composite bats. With that being said, they will perform just about the same. Both bats have an end loaded feel, have great pop, and would be a great choice!
Jennifer
Hey I was wondering if this bat was legal for men's and co-ed leagues and what sized would be better for me? I'm 6'3" and weigh 195 if you could answer my question that would be great. Thank you. cherokee
Well... I would be unable to answer the first part of your question because not all rec and co-ed leagues abide by the same set of rules. However, this is an ASA bat that is widely accepted. I would recommend checking your league rules. Based on your size, I would recommend a 28 oz. bat.
Tyler
Trying to decide if I should get the balanced or end-loaded bat. Normally swing a 2009 Easton SCN9 Stealth 27 oz and hit right/right center, 220lbs, 5'10. Should I go with a end-loaded, should I drop down to a 26oz? Not really sure if I qualify for a power hitter but most of my hits go to the outfield between right center and right gap. 1low56
We recommend a more balanced bat for your type of hitter. Although, there is not a rule that says you can't swing an end loaded bat. If you decide to go with an end loaded bat like the 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA we recommend dropping down to a 26 oz.
KB
What size would be better for me? I'm 6'1" and weigh 235 pounds. I currently own 34- 25 Miken for my fast pitch. I need one for my slow pitch one. The Beast
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA is and end loaded bat, better for a player with some power. If you have power we would recommend a 34" 28oz., otherwise a 34" 27oz. would be a better choice.
Kara
I just purchased the NXT Freak SuperMax ASA bat. The forcasted temperature for our game is 55 degrees. Is there any recommended temp for using this bat? I do not want to use it if it is too cold. Welcome to South Dakota! Kevin
We recommend using composite bats, like the 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA, in temperatures above 45 degrees.
Kara
Hey...I hit fifth for my slow pitch team. I am 6' 190 lbs. What size bat should I purchase? Thanks! bandgeek
For the 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA, I would recommend the 34 in. 28 oz. size.
Nick
I am 5'9" and 190 lbs, what size bat should I use? jjb
The Miken NXT Freak SuperMax is an endloaded bat so if you have a strong swing and tend to be more of a power hitter I would go with a heavier model.
Damon
I am looking for a bat for our ladies softball team. I am 5'6 and 170 pounds. I have played church softball for 5 years. However, most of our ladies have not played. Slugger
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax is an end loaded bat and not recommended for beginning players. We suggest the 2013 Miken NXT Freak Balanced ASA: SNXTBA Slow Pitch.
Kara
Does this bat have the ASA 2004 compliance logo on it? LJF
Yes, the Miken Freak NXT SuperMax SNXTMA is approved for ASA play. For additional suggestions on ASA slow pitch bats feel free to contact our customer service at 1-866-321-2287.

I'm 5'7" and 160 lb, but with a muscular build. I've been using a friend's 28 oz Easton Salvo. This is my first year playing and I can consistently hit liners and bloop singles, with an occasional deep hit. Would you recommend this bat for someone like me? And I'm debating between the 28 oz or 26 oz because this is endloaded. Thanks! LakersFan
This Miken NXT freak is one of the higher performing ASA bats on the market. If you use a 28 oz balanced bat, I always recommend using the same size in an endloaded model to reap the full benefits of the endloaded feature. You should have great success with this bat.
Tyler
Does it have the 2013 stamp on it? brancase
Yes the 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA: SNXTMA features the new USSSA stamp making it legal for play in 2013.
Tom

The 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA is only available in a 34". The maximum weight available is a 30 oz.

The 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA has the ASA 2004 stamp.
Kara
Does this bat have the 2012 logo on the bat somewhere? Hvt

Tyler
My daughter needs to replace her NRG 500 34/25. This is a balanced bat that she has ben using for the past 3 years. Is this a comparable replacement. Andrew
Yes. Out of all the Miken bats currently on the market, the NXT Freak line is most similar to the NRG Series. Like the NRG's the NXT Freak bats are one-piece, full composite and will have very similar feel and pop.
Tyler
I been using Miken as long as I can remember. Currently I have a Freak 98 how would this NXT end loaded compare to that? Because my Freak is just about "dead" Marti
The NXT Freak is Miken's current top-of-the-line bat. It will have pop very similar to that of the Freak 98.
Tyler

Unfortunately, the 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA: SNXTMA Slow Pitch bat only comes as pictured on the website.
Tyler
What size is the barrel on this bat? It's this or the Synergy 98H. Any thoughts or opinions? car
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA has a 2 1/4" barrel diameter. Both the NXT Freak and the Easton Synergy 98H are high performing bats with a ton of pop. You can't go wrong with either.
Nick
What is the barrel length on this bat? car
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA has a barrel length of 14".
Nick

The Miken NXT SuperMax ASA is very similar, but it is more end loaded.
Noah
Can you get this bat in 30 oz? jt
We only show the sizes that are in stock and ready to ship. We should have more 30 oz. models in stock in about 2-4 weeks.
Tyler
How do I know what weight to get? Philly P
As a general rule, bigger, stronger players usually prefer a heavier bat for maximum power (28 oz. and above). Smaller players usually benefit from a lighter bat that allows greater bat speed (27 oz. and below). To determine the weight that"s right for you, swing a variety of bats and see how much weight you"re comfortable with.
Tyler
Is there a 2012 bat of this same model and if so, what is the difference? Al
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA: SNXTMA Slow Pitch bat is new for 2013.
Tyler
Does this bat have a full 1 oz. end load? joelberg
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA has a full 1 oz end load.
Kara
I usually swing 30oz balanced bats, and I'm considering trying an end loaded bat. Should I drop down in weight? I've heard end loaded feel heavier. Andrew C
If you are swinging ahead of the ball at all and you feel like you need to try an end loaded you could. They do feel heavier, but if you get a two-piece end loaded bat it wont feel like as big of a difference,
Noah
Is this bat designed for the new high core, low compression balls? Trav
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA: SNXTMA Slow Pitch softball bat is not designed specifically for the high core, low compression softballs, however; it could certainly be used with them.
Jeff
Thinking about getting a 30 oz SuperMax. Will it make a big difference from a 28 oz bat? And will the 30 oz improve distance? Scrilla323
Typically, players who swing a balanced 30 oz bat, will go down an ounce in an end loaded bat like the 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA. The end loaded bat will provide a little more distance.
Kara
Difference between balanced bat and Supermax? Sam
The difference between a balanced bat and the 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA: SNXTMA Slow Pitch bat would be the swing weight. A balanced bat will have the weight more evenly distributed throughout the entire bat. The SuperMax will have 1 full oz. of end load at the barrel of the bat. Power hitting players tend to love an end loaded feel.
Brandon
Is this bat allowed in USSSA leagues? jake k
The 2013 Miken NXT Freak SuperMax ASA (SNXTMA) Slow Pitch has the ASA stamp and the USSSA stamp. It is legal for play in USSSA leagues.
