I heard from a few people that this bat is a better bat for cold weather and doesn't do so well in warmer weather. Can anyone tell me how true that statement is?

The 2014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath ASA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (DXFLS-V14) would hit very well in warm weather. All bats, whether alloy or composite, will lose performance and risk damage in temperatures under 55 degrees.

What's the performance difference between this bat and the 2013 model?

This 2014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath ASA (DXFLS-V14) Slow Pitch Softball Bat is regulated by the newer ASA performance certification. The 2013 model was still stamped with the 2004 ASA regulation. In regards to performance, this 2014 model should offer better performance when hitting the .52 COR, 300 Compression softballs that ASA leagues now use. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to quantify the difference in performance you might see.

I just bought this bat. I play in an ASA league but don't know what core ball is used. Will the .44 core balls really damage the bat?

The 2014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath ASA (DXFLS-V14 Slow Pitch Softball Bat) could be damaged by the harder .44 core balls. Again, it is not a guarantee but more of a guideline that comes directly from the manufacturer.

How does the Flipper perform hitting clincher balls?

The 2014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath ASA (DXFLS-V14) would work well with clincher balls.

Does this bat do well with the .44 core balls and the .52 core balls?

The 2014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath ASA (DXFLS-V14) Slow Pitch Softball Bat is designed to hit the .52 core balls. If using this bat on .44 core balls you will see high performance but will damage the bat.

What weight would you recommend for a 5 foot 11, 220 pound player? Would you get more power from the 27 ounce or the 28 ounce?

The 28 ounce weight of the 2014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath ASA: DXFLS-V14 Slow Pitch Softball Bat would be a nice option for a player of your size. The added weight helps create more power based on the principle of mass x inertia = power created by the bat.

What oz. do you recommend for a guy that's 5'10" 162 Ibs?

The recommended size for the 2014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath ASA (DXFLS-V14 Slow Pitch Softball Bat) for a player with average strength, at your size, would be a 27 oz. bat.

What is the difference between this Aftermath ASA and the one that has the ASA, ISF, ISA etc. stamps?

The new 2014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath ASA (DXFLS-V14) Slow Pitch Softball Bat features the new ASA stamp. This indicates that it is intended for use with the new 52 core 300 compression balls now used in ASA play. Previous ASA models are, generally, approved for more than just ASA play because the balls used were in line with those other league's specifications. Some of the bats featuring the new ASA stamp like the Flipper Aftermath ASA are only ASA approved.
