Description

DeMarini's The ONE returns to diamond again this season to give players an advantage that's almost unfair. This year's model joins DeMarini's stiffest barrel to their strongest handle to create a monster that can't be contained! The barrel is made from 4.ONE Composite that uses narrow carbon fibers in multiple lay-ups to create one of the stiffest composites known to man! The handle is constructed from DeMarini's strongest metal, SC4 Alloy, that results in the stiffest handle DeMarini makes. Speaking of stiff, The ONE features a Dish end cap that creates maximum stiffness at the end of the bat, while driving ball-launching energy back to the sweet spot. The ONE features an end-loaded swing weight for maximum power. This is one nasty club with absolutely NO forgiveness. It's time to release the beast! DeMarini: Born Hardcore! The ONE features the new ASA stamp and is approved for play in ASA and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Dual Stamp The ONE SilverSlugger7 player

Pros: Great bat for both ASA and USSSA. Hits either association ball well. Is a cross between the Fu-Dawg(ASA) and Stadium 2.1(USSSA). Makes a great team bat.

Cons: Takes time to open up, but what you don't get in instant hotness you get in great durability. It will warm up after 300+ swings.

Instant love for The One Sftbllfish player

Pros: Hot right out of the wrapper! Hitting in ASA leagues with crazy pop that I wasn't expecting out-the-gate. I've used a lot of bats over the years, got hooked on DeMarini products in college and i got to say this one is topping my charts. Great feel, can barely tell it's end-loaded and feels light with the great distribution of weight, grip is nice, great pop... Just perfect. Everyone's wanting to use it, and I Can't wait to see it's performance once I've gotten more reps in.

Cons: none

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini The ONE ASA / USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat: DXONE? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I see that it has the new ASA stamp and it says that it is approved for ASA and ISA but it doesn't mention anything about USSSA. Will it also have the USSSA stamp on it? Idaho Mike
The 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE) Slow Pitch Softball bat approved for play in ASA, USSSA, ISA, ISF, and NSA.
Justin R.
Is this the 2014 model of the 2013 The One FU-Dawg? PJ
This is the 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE). This is the new version of the 2013 DeMarini The ONE FU-Dawg (DXONE).
Kelby
I need one question answered YES or NO. Does this bat have the USSSA stamp on it? SwampMan
Yes, the 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE Slow Pitch Softball bat) will have the new ASA stamp and the new USSSA 1.20 stamp on the barrel.
Brandon
Does the bat come broken in? If it becomes dented from play within the first 12 months, is it covered under the warranty? Wheels
The 4.ONE Composite Barrel of the 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE) Slow Pitch Softball bat would improve with more reps and a break-in period. It most likely won't offer it's best performance right out of the box. And if you did happen to run into durability issues, DeMarini does back this bat by a 12 month warranty.
Mac
For the new 52 core ASA balls, which would you recommend the new DXONE or the 2014 Flipper Aftermath? Calloway
The 2014 DeMarini Flipper Aftermath ASA (DXFLS-V14) bats were tested with the new 52 core balls and would be a better option.
Kara
Will this bat do well with a low compression, low core, restricted flight ball? Wildthing
The 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE) would work well with the low compression, high core balls.
Kara
What is the difference between the DXONE and the ASA Juggy? Charlie
The 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE) is a two-piece bat with an alloy handle and a composite barrel. The alloy handle will provide a very stiff handle, preferred by power hitters. The 2014 DeMarini Juggernaut Softball Bat (DXNT3) is two-piece composite bat and is designed for a contact hitter.
Kara
I'm trying to decide between the 2014 DeMarini The ONE and the Demarini FU Dog. Any recommendations? What are the pros and cons of each one? Joel
The 2014 DeMarini The ONE: (DXONE) and DeMarini The ONE FU-Dawg (DXONE) will both have a similar structure. Both bats will be two-piece hybrids designs and will be end-loaded. One of the biggest differences will be that the 2014 DeMarini The ONE: (DXONE) will be certified for play in USSSA and the DeMarini The ONE FU-Dawg: (DXONE) will be certified for ASA and ISF . Performance wise, both of these bats will be extremely hot and will have similar sweet spots. The certification will be one of the biggest differences.
Merritt
What's the end load weight? NJ908
The 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE Slow Pitch Softball Bat) will have more of a barrel heavy feel compared to a balanced bat. DeMarini does not actually say how much weight is put towards the barrel. I would guess around 1 oz.
Brandon
How does this bat perform in cooler weather? attack07
We do not recommend using the 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE) Slow Pitch Softball Bat in weather that is under 55 degree. You may see a little less performance if you are using it under 55 degree.
Aaron
How does this bat perform with the gold clincher ball? OutLaw 07
The 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE) is a great choice to use with the gold clincher balls.
Kara
I'm stuck between the 2014 DeMarini The ONE and the new Easton LX.0. What would you recommend for someone who plays in both associations? QuickHitter23
That's tough, but I would recommend the 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE). It is very stiff swinging, has a good end load, and tons of pop.
Justin R.
Should I use the DeMarini The ONE at the batting cage? ross
The 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE) has a composite barrel and should not be used in a batting cage.
Kara
How is the durability of the bat? Mike C
The durability of the 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE) will have great durability if used with the intended ball. The ONE features the new ASA stamp that is best to use with the new .52 core ASA balls. If you use the older .44 core balls, The ONE will eventually have durability issues.
Patrick
I play in a lot of different leagues and i just purchased a ONE, but I've heard that some balls will actually crack your bat. Or its not as durable towards some balls. Is that true? Should I be concerned to use my ONE in any league but ASA? Derrell
You're correct in that some bats' durability will actually be compromised when hitting certain softballs. Both ASA and USSSA have changed the softballs that they use to a lower compression ball (ie 275 to 300 compression). Both leagues used higher compression softballs in previous years (ie 375 or 400 compression). This 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE) Slow Pitch Softball Bat features the newest ASA and USSSA performance regulations and is designed to hit those lower compression balls. You will have a better shot at lasting durability with this bat if you can avoid hitting the higher compression softballs.
Mac
Hello. I want to know if The ONE can be used for a .52 core ball? jj torres
The 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE) can be used with a .52 core ball. It is high performing and durable.
Kara
I am stuck between the ONE and the Stadium. Is one better in terms of durability with the USSSA ball? kidmetal84@yahoo.com
The 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE) and the 2014 DeMarini Stadium CL22 (DXST2-V14) would be very similar in terms of durability and design. The Stadium is slightly more end-loaded than the ONE so it may lead to a bit more power but both are rated for play with the USSSA balls.
Patrick
What is the BPF of this bat? tech9
The 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE) Slow Pitch Softball Bat features the USSSA 1.20 BPF stamp.
Jason
Does this have a usssa stamp? Stroop
Yes, the 2014 DeMarini The ONE Slow Pitch Softball Bat (DXONE) has the USSSA BPF 1.20 stamp.
Sean
Is this bat end loaded? Stroop
Yes, The 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE) is end loaded.
Sean
How will the (DXONE) do with .52 COR, 300 compression balls? The One
The 2014 DeMarini The ONE Slow Pitch Softball Bat (DXONE) is actually designed for the newer, lower compression softballs that both ASA and USSSA league should have adopted by now. You'll hit a .52 COR, 300 Compression softball very well with this bat.
Mac
Is this bat approved for NSA play? How will it perform with "tattoo" softballs? nick
The 2014 DeMarini The ONE Slow Pitch Softball Bat (DXONE) is approved for play in NSA. It also features the new ASA stamp, which means that it has been tested for use with the softer 52 COR softballs. If you are using the 52 COR Tattoo softballs, it will do well against them. If you are using the harder 47 COR softballs, it will be fine but there will be some durability issues since they are meant for use with softer 52 COR softballs.
Tessa
How much is the end-load? Also, will this bat be able to perform at the same level on the 52/300 balls, same as the Miken Freak 52? Bayballer
The 2014 DeMarini The ONE Slow Pitch Softball Bat: (DXONE) will have an approximate one ounce end-load. It will also be able to produce a high level of performance, similar to other popular, high-end models including the Miken Freak 52.
Merritt
What does a 1oz end load mean? Is that quite a bit or will this feel pretty balanced? Cameron
The 1 oz. end load on the 2014 DeMarini The ONE (DXONE) means that 1 oz. of the total bat weight will be distributed towards the end cap of the bat. This will cause the bat to not have a balanced feel.
Kelby
One answer says that the DeMarini One shouldn't be used in a batting cage. Why is that? I would think it would be helpful to use it there in order to break it in. Bob
It is never good to use really any bat in a batting cage that uses the yellow dimpled cage balls. The 2014 DeMarini The ONE Slow Pitch Softball Bat (DXONE), like most bats, is not designed to hit a cage ball. The yellow dimpled cage balls are more dense than standard softballs and can damage the bat.
Jason
My league uses Worth Grey Dot balls that are 12 inches .40 cor and 400 compression. What kind of bats are suitable for these balls, if any? Mark
While there aren't bats specifically designed for that style of ball, USSSA certified bats such as the DeMarini The ONE Slow Pitch Softball Bat (DXONE) would probably show the best combination of durability and performance.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
