Our Carbon Reinforced Paradox Composite Handle is stiffer for ultimate energy transfer between barrel and ball. While our patented ThermoFused Taper enhances an already explosive X10 Alloy barrel by containing energy in the barrel where it belongs - Propelling the ball on impact and reducing vibration to hands. Pros: very large sweetspot and a nice feel when hitting the ball. The D-fusion handle really maximizes pop and makes the handle stiffer but the barrel stronger. x10 alloy is my favorite alloy demarini has created. it has a great sound and its very responsive. the 2 5/8 barrel really works for me. i prefer it over the 2 3/4 because it makes the barrel lighter.

Cons: the grip isnt very good for what the price is

This brings terror to pitchers Ben player

Pros: Nice Ping and amazing pop. You do not even feel the ball when hit solid. THe only thing you know is that you hit it and you hit it HARD. I love it but the only bad thing is so does my team. Everyone uses it and we are hitting like crazy. Does not even feel end loaded but has tons of power. Cool graphic.

Cons: Deceptive about the end load. I went with a 31 22 but I could have easily swung a 32.

Best Bat in my Bag! Anthony Ciccarelli player

Pros: I have used many bats over the years I have been playing baseball. I love the Voodoo Overlord, it has great pop and amazing power. I switched from the 2013 Voodoo to the Overlord several weeks ago, there is a noticeable difference, more pop, no vibration, incredible power when contact is made. A lot of kids on my team use the Voodoo Overlord. Doesn't feel top heavy, feels very balanced when I swing the bat. Is there a new 2015 model? I am sure my dad will buy it for me!

Cons: None.

Pros: Lots of pop out of the wrapper. Way better than my s1. There is absolutely no vibration, even on off centered hits. I play 12AAA and I hit one easily 285 and was by far the farthest ball i've ever hit. The bat sounds great and everyone on my team wants to either use it or buy it. The bat looks great also and the D-Fusion handle is great.

Excellent... FNG parent

Pros: My son had a 2 1/4" Demarini Voodoo two seasons ago and outgrew it and he wanted an Easton S2 for his next bat which has been a great bat also(he hit several out of the park home runs with it). He wanted to go back to the Demarini for his next bat because, in his words, "it feels good in your hands and swings nice". He was ready for a small jump in weight from his 28/18oz S2 but the length is still good for him. The graphics and paint on the two demarinis we have owned have been FAR superior to the Eastons/Maruccis we have owned. It looks like a durable bat, and my son likes it when in the cage and hitting soft toss/tee work. We will see how he likes it during games with the little bit of extra weight but the end load is deceptive as it feels like the same weight as the S2 which is a balanced bat. The S2 and the Voodoo are the most comparable with Alloy barrels and composite handles.

Cons: None.

Demarini Voodoo Overlord aaron player

Pros: this bat has insane pop and the ball explodes off the bat. it has that realy nice ping noise and i have used aluminum bats my whole life and i may never switch to composite because i am so costumed to the ping sound. it works as advertised. it is a bit heavy, probably because i got the 32/23 model, but i am able to get the bat around fast and i have hit BOMBS with this bat. i would recommend it to anybody.

Cons: grip is wearing down, but because i swing it every day and paint chips, but what are you going to do about that?

Money Bat Steve parent

Pros: I made my son a bet when I got this bat, if he hit a home run with it I would give him 100 dollars. Yesterday was his first game, and he was up to the plate his second at bat, and he smacked one over the fence. He had been using a combat, which was composite and never got close to hitting a home run. This is a great bat and he loves it.

Cons: Lost my $100.

Hot Bat! Coach Brian coach

Pros: We were looking for a senior league big barrel for my son for Christmas. Got this bat as the deal of the day after the new model came out. First 2 at bats crushed the ball for 2 triples and a pair of RBIs. Another player on our team hit a homerun with this bat. Came back in the dugout screaming, "I love your bat!" This bat pretty much every other plate appearance after that. Well worth the money. Great find for the price!

Too much hype Parent parent

Pros: Nice looking Got it on sale

Cons: I read the reviews and bought this as a bat for my son to use as he transitions into kid pitch. The reviews led me to believe it had very good to great pop. Well not so fast, my sons bat speed was a bit slower but the bat had just avg pop. The sweet spot also seems small. Only had the bat for a week so I will keep letting him switch back and forth from old bat. Also he was using an Easton xl3 which he loves

Great Bat SWK424 parent

Pros: DeMarini has never steered us wrong. Every bat purchase simply elevates the game one more notch. Every bat has been durable and continues to perform. This bat has great pop and for my son, in his words "This bat makes me feel very dangerous at the plate". The slightly end load makes him feel the batter better in his hands and the sweet spot is great. He's a bit more of a power hitter than hitting to contact but others on the team started using his bat too because of how good it feels and how well they're hitting with it.

Cons: Small paint chip in the first week of real use (after break in). It's of no impact to the bat's performance purely a cosmetic thing. That's why the 4 instead of a 5 on durability. Although this is the first DeMarini bat (own 4) that has shown any signs of wear, scratching, etc. and still no dents on any of the other DeMarini bats, while we watch others complain about their Eastons denting.

Pros: this is by far the best bat i have ever used it is more pop then any other bat on the market if you make solid contact with this bat you will get at lest a very hard grounder. i used a mako for a while before i got this bat and i would pick this bat over it any day. this bat will make you a much better hitter and will turn you into a power hitter even if your not i would highly recomend this bat to anybody who wants to be a much better hitter

Brandon
Does this model make it easier to hit inside pitches than the regular DeMarini 2014 Voodoo? TXCombat34
The **PRE-BOOK** 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD: DXVDR Senior League bat will not make it easier to hit those inside pitches. It will make it feel better on your hands though. The D-Fusion handle will help lessen the vibration that comes with the contact of the baseball.
Brandon
Is the OVERLORD end loaded like the Voodoo? I don't expect it to be as super balanced as the CF line, but hoping it is somewhere in between. Sandlot
The **PRE-BOOK** 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD: DXVDR Senior League is an end loaded bat like the Voodoo. It features D-Fusion technology for less vibration.
Kara
Does this bat still have the same knob as the other 2014 Voodoo? Chaseter
The **PRE-BOOK** 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD: DXVDR Senior League features the same really cool knob as the 2014 Voodoo.
Kara
My son is a power hitter. Is this bat better than the Easton MAKO? Robert
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD: DXVDR Senior League is a end loaded bat, best suited for a power hitter. The Easton MAKO is a balanced bat, better for a contact hitter.
Kara
Would you prefer the 2013 Easton XL1 or the 2014 Demarini Overlord for a 14 year old power hitter? voodoo
Both the Easton XL1 and DeMarini Voodoo Overlord will be end loaded and good choices for a power hitter. The Overlord features a D-Fusion handle to help eliminate vibration, but this will also give the bat more of a one-piece feel.
Tori
If I'm not a power hitter, should I buy this bat or should I buy a different bat? Jordan Cardenas
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) has an end loaded feel which makes it best suited for a power hitter. Since you are not a power hitter, a balanced bat like the CF6 or Vexxum NVS may be better suited for you.
Tori
What is the honeycomb type material between the barrel and handle? What's that going to do if a kid gets badly jammed? It looks like a rubberized sleeve in the photo that the prior Voodoos didn't have. Thanks. Don
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD: DXVDR Senior League will feature the D-Fusion handle piece. It's there to eliminate vibration and send it back up into the barrel for added performance.
Brandon
I have DeMarini 30" 22 oz. but I need a longer and more powerful bat. Will this bat be better for me? Plus I am a power hitter. I'm 13. josh
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD: DXVDR Senior League is a end loaded bat. It is a great option for a power hitter. The new d-fusion technology also helps eliminate vibration.
Kara
My son is 13U this year. Past bats are the DeMarini Vexxum, and the Easton S2. He is 5"8 about 127 pounds. When he connects, he is a power hitter. I am looking at the DeMarini Voodoo or the Easton MAKO. He will be going to a -9 drop this year. Thank you. Ludes
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD: DXVDR Senior League is end loaded and designed for a power hitter. The Easton MAKO is a two-piece, balanced bat that is best suited for a contact hitter.
Kara
Is there a performance difference between this model and last years model in a drop 9? jon
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD ( DXVDR) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo (DXVDR ) both use the same alloy and composite materials. The only difference is the OVERLORD features new d-fusion technology to reduce vibration.
Kara
I am 12 and love the 2013 Voodoo. I am more of a contact hitter than a power hitter. Is there a different version I should consider? MattyB
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) Senior League, like the other Voodoos, has an end loaded swing weight. If you are interested in a more balanced DeMarini bat, the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFR) Senior League and the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum (DXVXR) Senior League are great options.
Jason
Is this bat legal in Babe Ruth? baller
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) Senior League is legal for the 13-15 year old division of Babe Ruth.
Damon
Does this bat require time to be broken-in? PK

Kara
My son is 11, 74 lbs, and 4'8" tall. What size should I get him? blackmamba
The best size for your boy in the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD: DXVDR Senior League would be a 29".
Brandon
My son is 14, 215 lbs and 6' tall. What size bat should I get him? Dad
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) Senior League.
Jason
My son will be 15 in June and is 5'9" and 160 lbs. Do you suggest a 32/27 or 33/28 bat for his 14 old year of Babe Ruth League Baseball. Ski84
The -9 size of the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD: DXVDR Senior League bat may be too light for his age. The 32" 27 oz. bat should be a better fit for his size and age.
Brandon
My son is 6 foot and 170 pounds. He is 13 years old and used XL1 last year with great success. Will the 32" 23 oz. be long enough and be a good choice for him in Babe Ruth? Kyle
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 33" 28 oz. 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR).
Kara
I am 13 and going into Senior League, but I want the BBCOR model. Could I just use the BBCOR? What are the differences in the 2 bats? mnk34
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD: DXVDR Senior League would probably be the bat for you. The BBCOR model is a high school and college bat. It is only available in a -3 length to weight ratio, and would probably be too heavy. The Senior League model is lighter and higher performing.
Justin R.
Should I get this bat or the first Voodoo? I am a power hitter. Red
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo (DXVDR) are both end loaded bats and designed for a power hitter. The only difference is the OVERLORD uses d-fusion technology to reduce vibration.
Kara
My son is 5 foot 7 inches and he weighs about 116 lbs. He used a 32 inch 22 oz. XL1 last year. He grew quite a bit and works out a little. What size do you recommend? isaiah
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 32" 23 oz. 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD ( DXVDR).
Kara
My son is 10 years old, 5' 2" & weighs 112 pounds. What size overlord would you suggest he use? Babaseballdad1
The suggested bat length for your son is 31 inches. The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) Senior League model features a -9 length to weight ratio. That means the bat would weigh 22 ounces at the 31 inch length.
Patrick
What is the major difference between the Paradox and the Overlord? Is this bat worth the extra money or should I just get the last model? What's your opinion? aaron
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo (DXVDR) are both end loaded bats and designed for a power hitter. Both have the Paradox composite and will be comparable in performance. The only difference is the OVERLORD has a D-Fusion handle to help reduce vibration.
Tori
My son is 11 years old and weighs 100 lbs. I am not sure on height. He currently has a 29/19 CF5. Which size OVERLORD should he swing? Would it be a good bat for him? rocky
Based on his age, we suggest a 30" model in the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) Senior League. The OVERLORD has an end loaded swing weight and is a terrific bat for a power hitter. For more sizing information please visit our bat coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
My son is 9 years old. He is 43" tall, and weighs 70 lbs. Can he handle a 28/19? dad
Yes, we would suggest that he use a 28 inch bat so I think that he should be fine using the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) Senior League in a 28.
Aaron
Is this bat okay in colder weather? Not uncommon for us to be playing in low 50's early in the year. Trying to find something to replace my son's XL1 in cold weather. Matt
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) can be used in 50 degree weather.
Kara
Is the bat BBCOR would it be good for me I am 5' 2" and 107LBs? jake
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) is not a BBCOR bat. The BBCOR model is 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR (DXVDC).
Jackson
Is this bat very similar to the 2013 model or is there a big difference? tbone
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) uses the paradox composite materials for a stiffer feel. It features new d-fusion technology to reduce vibration. Both bats are end loaded and designed for a power hitter.
Kara
I'm 5 foot 2 about 100 pounds. What size would you recommend? I am currently swinging a friends 32" 22 oz. S2. And does this bat have good flex? Jon
Based on the information you gave, I recommend a 31" length in the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo Overlord (DXVDR). The handle will have stiffer feel since it does feature a Paradox composite D-Fusion handle.
Zach
My son is 5'5" and about 120 lbs. currently using a Easton Surge 31" 21 oz. and this makes the start of the third year he has used it. Is the Easton bat end loaded and how would it compare to the Voodoo? patrick
The Easton Surge is slightly end loaded. It is a two-piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel, similar to the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR). The Voodoo is stiffer and more end loaded than the Surge.
Kara
Based on performance, how does this bat compare to the S2? I hit hard line drives and can hit for power. What bat would you recommend? jon
Both the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) and the 2014 Easton S2 (SL14S210) are high performing hybrid designs and will compare similarly. The major difference is the weighting of the bat. The S2 is balanced and the Overlord is end-loaded. If you can swing the end-loaded bat with the same velocity as the balanced model, you could potentially get more power out of it.
Patrick
How does the sweet spot compare to the CF5 and Vexxum? What bat has the biggest sweet spot? Jon
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) Senior League has a bigger sweet spot compared to the CF5 and the Vexxum. The OVERLORD has D-Fusion technology which helps extend the sweet spot through the entire barrel. The OVERLORD has one of the biggest sweet spots on the market. However, the DeMarini CF6 has a slightly larger sweet spot than the OVERLORD.
Jason
Is this bat made with seamless construction? jon
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) Senior League is not made with seamless construction. You can see where the two-piece design connects.
Jason
Is this bat similar to the 2012 Voodoo -9? If not, what are the differences? bill
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) Senior League uses new Paradox composite in the handle, and has a D-Fusion handle which helps eliminate vibration and extend the sweet spot throughout the entire barrel.
Jason
I am generally a contact hitter but I recently had a lot of success using the 2012 voodoo -9. Should I buy this bat or a more balanced one like the s2? Is this bat more or less end-loaded that the 2012 voodoo? bill
If you have had pass success with a Voodoo I would recommend sticking with the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR). It will have the same amount of end load as the 2012 model.
Bobby
Is this bat more or less end-loaded than the 2012 voodoo -9 bat? nick
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) will be have about the same amount of end load as the 2012 model.
Bobby
Is the D-Fusion handle significantly better than the handle on previous models? nick
Yes, the technology in the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD: (DXVDR) has been improved from the previous years model. It has been re-designed to help increase performance by providing a larger sweet spot and will also reduce vibrations more thoroughly.
Merritt

Kelby

The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) has an end loaded swing weight that is designed for power hitters. It is one of the best bats on the market for power hitters. The end loaded swing weight will not swing as fast as more balanced bats.
Justin R.
I'm 13 yrs old, 4'11" and weigh 77lbs. I'm a line drive contact hitter. Would you recommend the Voodoo OVERLORD or CF6 for me? Riles
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) is more designed for a power-hitter, and has an end loaded feel. If you are more of a contact or line drive hitter, I would recommend the CF6.
Justin R.

The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR Senior League) and the Easton S2 are both very popular for a player at your size. The OVERLORD will have a longer more extended barrel length. The S2 will feel more balanced and light weight. Both have incredible pop and performance. Either would be a great selection for you!
Brandon

Jason
I am 5 foot 4 inches and weigh 145 pounds. Would a 32 inch bat or a 31 inch bat be better for me? baseabll101
Based on your height and weight we would suggest a 31 inch size of the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) but you may be able to use a 32 inch bat if you have quick swing speed.
Patrick
Is this bat more or less end-loaded than the 2013 Voodoo? Joey
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR Senior League) is going to have the same feel as far as end-load a s the 2013 DeMarini Voodoo.

Sean
When will the 2015 model of the Voodoo be released? devandre
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT will be releasing around 9/1/2014. The performance will be very similar to the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR Senior League).
Brandon
Can I use this bat in the cages with the yellow dimpled cage balls? Raul
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) Senior League, in commercial batting cages that use yellow "dimple" balls. These balls are more dense than the game balls that the bats are designed to hit. Also, many manufacturers list in their warranty details that hitting these balls will void your warranty against defects.
Mac
I'm 12 years old, and I wanted to know if i should swing the 32" or 31" in the OVERLORD? I weigh 145 pounds, and I am 5'7". Gb
Based on your approximate height and weight, I would probably suggest 32" in the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD: (DXVDR).
Merritt

Sean
My son has used the 2012 Vexxum 30" 20 oz. big barrel for the past 2 years, and he loves it. He will be 12 in 2 months. He is 5' and 95 lbs, but very strong. He loves the Vexxum, but has very high, perhaps too high, of swing speeds with his Vexxum 30/20. I am trying to understand if the OVERLORD is very similar to the Vexxum? I am considering something heavier, and if the OVERLORD is a similar bat to the Vexxum it would definitely be in consideration at 30/21 or 31/22 sizing. The other route we are considering is the Easton XL1 30" 22 oz. RJ
The Easton XL1 will feature a composite barrel and have a different feel upon contact compared to his Vexxum. The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) will feature the same half and half design, with the alloy barrel. Yet, it will have an extended barrel design which will make the bat feel slightly heavier. This will slow down his bat speeds slightly and should be exactly what you guys are looking for!
Brandon
Is this a composite bat? Does it need to be broken in? Mike
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat: (DXVDR) is a hybrid design. Therefore, it will incorporate an alloy barrel and a composite handle. If the barrel was composite a break-in would be required. However ,since the barrel is constructed using X10 Alloy, this model will be hot right out of the wrapper.
Merritt

The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) is a two-piece design that will flex a bit in during the swing.

Patrick

Is the only difference between the OVERLORD and the Paradox the D-Fusion Handle? mcm87729
Yes, the biggest difference is that the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat: (DXVDR) will incorporate added D-Fusion Handle Technology to help reduce vibrations and extend the sweet spot.
Merritt
Does this bat have an aluminum barrel so it can be used in cold weather games? bigpapi
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) features an alloy barrel and a composite handle. Generally, we do not recommend using any bat (composite or alloy) in temperatures below 55 degrees. In those temperatures, the fibers in the ball get harder, which causes more stress on the bat, when it makes contact with the ball. This can cause premature damage to the barrel of the bat.
Tessa
Which is best overall: The CF6, Voodoo OVERLORD, or the S3? Jacj
It really depends on what type of hitter you are to determine the best bat for you. The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) has an end loaded swing weight and is typically best for a power hitter. The CF6 has a two-piece balanced design and is usually best for contact hitters. The Easton S3 has a one-piece balanced design and is a great bat for players with occasional power.
Jason
My son is 5'2" and 105 lbs. What would be a good weight/length bat with the Voodoo Overlord? A12
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 31" 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR). For more information on sizing, check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tessa
Does it come with a warranty even though the 2015 one is out? L
As long as the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) you purchased was in new condition and was purchased from an authorized retailer it will come with a full twelve month warranty through the manufacturer.
Patrick
My son is 5'4" 100 lbs. He is a contact hitter with occasional power. He does not like the Easton MAKO, but he performed with an Easton Quantum. Should we get a CF6 or Voodoo OVERLORD? johnny baseball
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) is similar to the Quantum in regards to design, but they swing completely differently. The OVERLORD has an end loaded swing weight and the Quantum has a balanced swing weight. A more comparable bat to the Easton Quantum from DeMarini is the Vexxum. If he does not like the MAKO, then he will most likely not like the CF6 as it is a very similar bat.
Jason
Is the Voodoo -9 approved for play in PONY league baseball? Jimmy
Yes, the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) would be legal for play in the PONY league players up to 12 years old.
Kelby
My 8 year old son has been using the 2013 Easton XL3 in a 27 inch 17 ounce size. It is short for him now. He is 54 inches tall and weighs about 80 pounds. He hits for quite a bit of power. Would this bat be beneficial? Would the jump to a 29 inch 20 ounce be too much? Richard
The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) is slightly end-loaded like the XL3 so it can benefit a power hitter by focusing the mass of the bat to where the ball is hit. Based on his height and weight, a 29 inch bat would be appropriate for a player of his size. The 3 ounce increase will be a challenge and will require work to adjust to but should be able to work for him.
Patrick
Should I choose the Vexxum or Voodoo for my 12 year old son? He is 5'6" 120lbs and a power hitter. Tony
For a power hitter I would choose the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) because this bat is end loaded. The Vexxum is a balnced bat.
Frankie
i am twelve years old 5,7 feet tall and 130 pounds what size should i get slugger
For the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) our bat coach recommends a 32"23 oz. bat for a player of your size.
Joe
my son is 9yrs old & 4'8...is a 28" the right length... he likes the voodoo best! Alicia
For a player of that age and height we recommend 29 inches but getting the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVDR in 28 inches would be fine with it only being one inch under the recommended size.
Ryan
My son is 11, 4'8 and 80lb. He's moving up next year and looking for a 2 year bat. He has a 2 year old Voodoo 29/20 now but seems like a good time to move up to a 30/21 or 31/22? Thoughts? Nickle
For a player of that size, our bat coach recommends a 29"20 ounce bat. It is possible for him to use a 30"21 ounce bat as well, but going any bigger is not recommended.
Joe
I'm 13 years old and only 5' tall and weigh about 90 pounds. I'm a good contact hitter in the number 2 spot. Do you think this would be good for a small kid like me? mikey
For the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR), our bat coach actually recommends a 30" 21 ounce model. The DXVDR will feature a two-piece hybrid design with an X10 Alloy barrel as well as a Paradox Composite Handle for enhanced stiffness. Typically we recommend a two-piece bat for contact hitters as it can help improve your bat speed.
Joe
I'm 5'8", 150 pounds. Would the 32" 23oz. model be a good size for me? noah
For a player of your size, our bat coach recommends the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) in a 32" 23 oz. model.
Joe
My son is 13 years old. He is 5'5" and 145 lbs. He used the voodoo paradox 31-22 last year, now he has to go to a -3 this year. Any thoughts on size and if the Overlord would be a good bat? Mike
For a player of his size, our bat coach is recommending a 31" 29 oz. model. The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will feature a two-piece hybrid design with the X12 alloy barrel. The OVERLORD does feature an end-load, which can make the transition from a drop 9 to a drop 3 a little more difficult. Since the bat is a two-piece model, this will help his bat speed as well as the transition. Additionally, I do like the D-Fusion handle, which does a great job of eliminating shock and vibration.
Joe
My son is playing 9u. He has been using the Easton S3 28/18. Would it be ok to let him use the Demarini Voodoo 28/19? He is about 4' 85 lbs. cowboy
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) does have a slightly end loaded design and does swing heavier than the Easton S3. It is always best to progress in size and weight for any player and is always good to look into doing that. If he has good bat speed with the current S3, then it would be a good transition to move into the slightly end loaded and heavier Voodoo.
Jason
I am a 12 year old power hitter and have been looking into getting a new bat but I'm torn between the CF7 and the Overlord. I currently use an Easton S2 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL13S210. Which would be more beneficial for me? Nick
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) will feature a two-piece hybrid design featuring the X12 alloy barrel as well as the D-Fusion handle to eliminate shock and vibration traveling through the bat. Additionally, it does feature an end-loaded swing weight. The 2015 DeMarini CF7 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) will feature a two-piece full composite design featuring DeMarini's top grade Paradox Composite as well as the D-Fusion handle. Additionally, it offers a well-balanced swing weight. The DXCFX will feel the most similar to the SL13S210, however we do recommend end-loaded models for power hitters, so the DXVDR could be a good option as well.
Joe
Is the bat end weighted? preston
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) features an end loaded swing weight.
Jason
My son is 11 years old and 5'2" and 89 lbs. He currently swings a 29"19 oz. Omaha TPX and is primarily a line drive gap hitter. Which bat and size would you recommend for him? Booms Dad
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) does feature an end-loaded swing weight. For most gap or contact hitters, we recommend a balanced two-piece bat. Another model you could consider in the 30" 20 oz. length our bat coach recommends for him would be theDeMarini CF6 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX). This bat is offered in a two-piece full composite featuring the D-Fusion handle. This bat will have a very balanced swing weight.
Joe
I'm 13 years old, 165 lbs and 5'7". I am a power hitter and I currently swing the 31" 23oz. Marucci Black 2. Would the Overlord or the CF6 be better for me? Preston
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) will be very similar to the Marucci Black 2 that you are currently swinging. Both bats are two-piece hybrids with composite handles and alloy barrels. The DXVDR will feature an end-loaded swing weight, while the Black 2 has a balanced swing weight. Additionally, the DXVDR does feature the D-Fusion handle, which does a great job of absorbing shock and vibration traveling through the bat. The DeMarini CF6 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFR) features a two-piece full composite design as well as a balanced swing-weight. Typically, we would recommend an end-loaded model for a power hitter such as yourself.
Joe
My son is 12 years old, 4' 11" and 90 lbs. He's playing in a Pony League and is a gap/ contact hitter. He used a Combat Pure SL 30" 20 oz. last year . What bat would you recommend for him this year? Positive 1
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) will feature a two-piece hybrid design with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. It will also feature an end-loaded swing weight which we do not recommend for contact or gap hitters. Typically for a gap hitter, we would recommend a two-piece well balanced bat such as the 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110).
Joe
Can an 11U select league baseball player use this bat? joseph
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) is approved for usage for an 11U Select player. There are no bat restrictions on 13U players for Nations Select.
Joe
My son is 13, 5'3" & 180 lbs. He is moving from Little League to a 13 yr old Babe Ruth League. He is a power hitter that used a 32" 22 oz. Easton XL1. What bat and size would you recommend for him? Jeff
Based on his height and weight, our Bat Coach recommends a 32" DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR).
Tessa
My son's coach recommends this bat for my 9 year old (9U travel). 29", -8 size. I see it says "Senior League". Is that bat more geared toward older kids? Kay
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) would be appropriate. The Senior League indication means it will have a big barrel. It will not be a Youth bat, 2 1/4".
Brandon
Is the barrel length the same on a 28 inch as it is one the 29 inch or 30 inch? Or is the handle just longer? J Mac
The barrel lengths will vary slightly on the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) in different sizes but the differences will be minor. For the most part, the length is more affected by the handle.
Patrick
I'm 14 years old, 5'4" tall and weigh 135 lbs. What would be the right size for me? g2ronin
I would recommend the 31" 22 oz. model in the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR).
Tom
My son has a 29"20 2014 Voodoo bat. He is 9 years old, 54" tall and weighs 112. He hits for power. Would the 30" 21 oz model appropriate to step up to? Ben B Jammin
For a player of his size, our bat coach would recommend the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) in a 30" 21 oz. model. He could also consider moving up to the 31" model, if you think that he will hit a growth spurt within the next few months.
Joe
We're looking for an end loaded bat for my son. He's about 5'4" and 125 lbs. He says he prefers an end loaded bat and currently is using both a 2 5/8" barrel Easton XL1. He also has the 2 5/8" barrel Easton XL3. The problem is that he just seems so much more comfortable with his small barrel XL1. We're trying to force him to move up to a big barrel when he plays on his tournament team. Any suggestions on how the balance is on this bat, or other end loaded bats that we should look at? AP
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) will have more of a barrel heavy end loaded feel. As will the Easton XL-Series. They are really the most popular end loaded swing weighted bats that we see. I have also heard that the new 2015 Louisville Slugger Select 715 Senior League is slightly end loaded also. All of these bats are very high performing and durable. Any of them sound like a perfect choice for him.
Brandon
Is this bat legal for Babe Ruth 13-15 play? Joey
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) has a 2 5/8" alloy barrel and features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp. All these features make the bat legal for play in the 13-15 division for Babe Ruth.
Jason
Is this bat legal for Pony League 13U play? T
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) features a 2 5/8" barrel diameter as well as a drop 9 length to weight ratio. Additionally, it offers a two-piece hybrid design with a composite handle and an alloy barrel with a slightly end-loaded swing weight. This bat is approved for Pony 13U play.
Joe
My son plays 9U and is on the smaller side. He is about 4 foot 6 and weighs 55 pounds. Is the 28 inch bat okay for someone his age and stature? Is it okay to use in Babe Ruth league? Dave
A 28 inch size of the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) would be a good fit for a player of that size but it may be a bit on the heavy side with that model. A more balanced model like the DeMarini Vexxum Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXR) may be a better fit for your player.
Patrick
Is this bat legal for Pony? Waterbug
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp and has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter. It is legal for play in the 13-14 Year old division of Pony and below.
Jason
I play Little League 12U. Is this legal for my league? ballislife
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) has a big barrel. These are allowed for USSSA play. You may need a Youth bat, but should definitely check with your coach or league official.
Brandon
What is the difference between this and a Junior Big Barrel model? ballislife
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) is designed for live pitching. Junior Big Barrel models are designed for coach and machine pitch and will not stand up to the velocity of live pitching.
Joe
Is there a minimum temperature for this bat? beanie
We would recommend that the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) not be used in temperatures below 55 degrees Fahrenheit. This is due to the materials that compose the baseballs becoming more dense in colder temperatures. The increased density could possibly damage the bats.
Joe
Is this bat approved for play in Babe Ruth Juniors 13-15? Jake
Yes, the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVDR) should be legal in the 13-15 division of Babe Ruth. As long as the bat does not have a composite barrel, it does not have to be BBCOR certified. It's always best to check with a coach or league official to be safe.
John H
I am about 5 foot 7 and 123 pounds. What size bat do you think I would need? baseball
Based on height and weight, I would suggest a 32 inch size of the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR).
Patrick
I have been swinging a 2013 Easton XL1 31 inch 23 ounce size. I was wondering if it would be easy to adjust. Also, is the bat end-loaded? RangersNation22
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) is end-loaded, as is the Easton XL1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL13X18). The OVERLORD would actually be slightly lighter in terms of swing weight if you get the same length.
Patrick
Does this bat sound like the BBCOR version? strikeout
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) features the same X10 alloy barrel as the BBCOR model, so it will have a very similar (if not the same) sound on contact.
Tessa
What's the difference between this bat and the cat 6....which one would be better for a power hitter madmax
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) is going to be an end loaded bat designed for power hitters. The 2015 Marucci CAT 6 Senior League Baseball Bat (MSBC65) is going to be balanced designed for contact hitters.
Frankie
Can it hit inside pitches well? Larz 13u player
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) is going to have an extended barrel that might help with inside pitches.
Frankie
My son is a lead off hitter with great bat speed and base running. He is 5'6", 130 lbs. and in 14 U pony. He has been using a DeMarini Vexxum SC4 31" 21 oz. He is borderline contact/power hitter. Want to move him up to a 32" 23 oz. Overlord. Is this a good fit? 4boyscoach
If your son is a borderline contact/power hitter, the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) may be a good choice. The end loaded swing weight of the OVERLORD will be ideal for power hitting. The two-piece design is great for contact hitting due to the additional flex it provides. Truly it will come down to if he is strong enough to comfortably and consistently control the end loaded OVERLORD, while maintaining quick bat speeds. Going to end loaded models before he is ready to can cause hitching or looping in his swing. If he would be able to make that transition comfortably without losing bat speed, the OVERLORD would be an excellent choice.
Tessa
I'm 5'6" and 105 lbs. What size bat should I get? Espn
For a player of your size, our bat coach would recommend the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) in a 31" 22 oz. model.

I am 5'8 150 lbs, should I get the 31" or 32" bat? CHAMP
Our bat coach feature on our website suggests that someone your size use a 32" DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR).
Liz
Is this bat approved for Dixie Youth baseball? Leigh
The rules for Dixie Youth baseball have made some changes over the last year and clarification has become more difficult because some local chapters have chosen to adopt the new rules or variations of them while others have not. It would be best to confirm with your coach or league official that your player can use a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter model like the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR). If so then this model should be approved.
Patrick
Is there a difference between this and the Paradox, besides the D Fusion handle? Jack
The major difference between the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) and the DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is the D Fusion handle. Other than that they have very similar construction.
Patrick
My 8 year old has some pop with great contact. We are looking to add more pop to his swing. He currently is using an Easton Mako 30 inch 19 ounce. He is tall and lanky right now. Would the Voodoo 29 inch 20 ounce or 28 inch 19 ounce be better? Sam
Based on what he has been using and what you are looking to get out of the bat, I would lean toward the 29 inch size of the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR).
Patrick
What is the difference between the Voodoo Overlord and the Voodoo senior league bat? Jerry
The DeMarini Voodoo Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) is going to have the same swing weight as the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR). The main difference between the two bats is that the Overlord will feature DeMarini's new D-Fusion handle technology which eliminates vibration and extends the sweet spot through the barrel.
Tom

The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) is legal for the Little League Junior Division.
Frankie

The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) should be legal for play in your USSSA league. However, we recommend consulting a coach or League Official to be absolutely certain.
Tessa
Is this bat Pony league approved for 12u Bronco and 14u Pony Divisions? Stevie
Yes, the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) should be legal for play in the Pony and Bronco divisions of Pony league. We recommend double checking with a coach or league official to be absolutely certain.
Tessa

The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) will be game ready right out of the wrapper. Only composite bats will require a break-in period.
John

Patrick
I am trying to find a 2014 Vexxum -10, (blue camo) for my son, who is 12 and likes his friends bat. Will this bat be comparable? kinsey
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) will feature an end loaded swing weight unlike the balanced Vexxum. The 2015 DeMarini Vexxum NVS Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXR) will be the same bat as last years model with some material upgrades.
Allison

The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) is a nice model for players of that age. It has a slightly end-loaded feel so whether it would be good for him would be dependent on if he likes an end-loaded feel or not.
Patrick
My son needs a 29 inch Youth Big Barrel Bat, is that what a senior league bat is? chase105
Yes, the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) is a youth big barrel bat.
Frankie
Is this good for a 12 year old? ethan
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) would be a great bat for a 12 year old who is looking to add power to his swing. The Voodoo is designed to have an end loaded swing weight to focus on putting power behind the ball.
Frankie
What size would you recommend for a 12 year old, that is 5 foot 2 inches and 98 pounds? ethan
Based on your sons height and weight I recommend getting the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) in a 31 inch.
Frankie

Yes, the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) is going to be a big barrel bat with a 2 5/8 inch barrel.
Frankie
What does it mean if it says that a bat has cosmetic defects? ac ball
If it says that the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) has some cosmetic defects, that means there will be some scratches or imperfections in the cosmetic (or the artistic) design of the bat.
Liz
need a bbcore -3 for seniors little league looking for a good bat for my son that is 5ft 8in 180pounds it also will need to work for hig school thanks robo
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) would be an excellent choice for a player who may hit more for power because of the end loaded swing weight. End loaded bats like this OVERLORD tend to be preferred by stronger players who don't have trouble generating their own bat speed. If your son hits more for contact or prefers a balanced bat, I would recommend checking out the DeMarini Vexxum. The specs on that bat are very similar to the Voodoo (alloy barrel, composite handle) but the Vexxum features a balanced swing weight. Based on his height and weight, a 32" bat is recommended.
Tessa
What's the difference between this bat and the OVERLORD FT? Bob
Compared to the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR), the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) has a stiffer flex and more durable and responsive barrel.
Patrick
Is this bat composite? me the kid
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) is a two-piece hybrid design. The Voodoo will have an alloy barrel and a composite handle.
John
My son will finish his last year in Little League at the Majors division--- is this bat allowed? KAR
Unfortunately, the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) would not be approved for Little League Majors Division play as it has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter. You would need a bat with a 2 1/4" barrel diameter. I'd suggest looking into the 2015 DeMarini CF7 Youth Baseball Bat (DXCFL).
Cameron
This bat is priced at $149, while the Voodoo OVERLORD FT (2015 version) is $119. Is the 2014 version a better bat (reason for higher price)? Sure seems like the ratings are better. Will
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVDR and the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVDR are essentially the same bat minus the fact that the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVDR used X10 alloy compared to the X12 that the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVDR used. With that said, the reason why the older model is at higher selling price is going to be caused because of supply and demand as well as the price we were able to secure these two different models. Both bats would be great options but there was certainly more demand and popularity for the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVDR.
Cameron
I'm going into Little League Juniors division. Is this bat allowed? cs baseball
This DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) has an alloy barrel, 2 5/8" barrel diameter, -9 length-to-weight ratio and USSSA 1.15 BPF certification. Because of those specifications, this bat will be legal for use in the Junior Division of Little League Baseball.
Ben
Can you use the Voodoo OVERLORD in temperatures under 50 degrees? kapper
We do not generally recommend using any bat at temperatures below 55 degrees. When the temperature sinks below 55 degrees, the ball becomes denser and has the ability to damage the barrel walls of any bat. If a player is participating in a practice that is being held in conditions with a temperature below 55 degrees, we would recommend using an older model bat that will no longer be used for games or even a wooden bat. If a game is being held in conditions below 55 degrees we would recommend taking BP with a non-game model bat (or wooden model) and then only using the new DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVDR) in the actual game.
Ben
Is this approved In Little League ? Conor
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVDR is approved for the following Little League Divisions: Intermediate (50/70) and Junior League.
Cameron
My son plays 13/14 and is 5ft 2 and about 90 lbs his league can have bats that are bbcor or a drop weight from -3 to -9. what would be a good size for him? Cubs suck
If he is not required to use a BBCOR bat yet, then you might get a little performance edge from a bat that is USSSA certified. At his age, a -5 would be a really good option. The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW Senior League Baseball Bat: DXVD5 would be a really good option to consider. For suggestions in length, check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
