The MAKO and the S1 are very similar, but the MAKO features an extended barrel and Easton's newest composite material. The Extended barrel and the new composite provide the MAKO with a slightly bigger sweet spot.

I swung an Easton XL1 this year and hit the fence dead center many times on a 380 field but could never seem to get it over. I'm 6"3 160 and 15. This seems like a bad question, but would this bat give me a better chance to hit it over? Or would another?
The 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) would be a more balanced bat, but you may lose some power moving from an end loaded bat. The Easton XL1 is one of our more popular end loaded models. Another good option maybe the DeMarini Voodoo line.

My Son, since little league and Pony, has used Easton. Now he is in high school and I just bought him the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR. He is 5'5" 150 pounds. Is the 31" 28 oz model okay for him?
Based on his height and weight, the 31" model in the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) Adult is the ideal size for him.
I'm a 14 yr. old freshman and about 5'2", I don't know whether I want to get the 2014 Easton S1 or the Marucci Team. I'm a contact hitter and would like a light feeling bat. I like both bats and have swung them both multiple times. Can you help me make a decision? (Why one over the other, pros/cons, etc.)
The three pros that push the S1 over the Team in terms of quality are that the S1 should last longer with the composite barrel, offers more flex and trampoline effect with the two-piece design, and also helps eliminate vibration with the two-piece design and composite handle. The biggest pro of the Team model is the price point and that it's hot right out of the wrapper. It's a pretty balanced option as well.
My son is a 14 year old freshman who is 5'7" and weighs 133 pounds. I bought him a S1 31" bat. The coach says that none of his freshmen should have a S1 bat because their swing is not fast enough and that I should have bought him a S3. Is this correct? Does the S3 have a faster swing than the S1?
The 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) and the Easton S3 are both very balanced bats. The Easton S1 is a two-piece bat and is designed for a contact hitter. The Easton S3 is a stiffer,one-piece bat and is typically preferred by power hitters.
What would happen if you didn't break-in a composite bat and just started to use it for live BP and things like that?

I'm 16 years old. A little over 6 feet tall and weigh 120-125 lbs, mostly a contact hitter. I'm thinking of the S1 bat, but I'd like to know what bat and bat size you would recommend for me?
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" model in the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) Adult. The balanced swing weight and two-piece design is an ideal fit for any contact hitter.
What bat is better, the S1 or the XL1?

How does this 2014 S1 compare to the 2013 S1? I do not want to pay $400 for the bat, so if I can't get the 2014 model for a little less, then I might have to get the 2013 model or just a different bat.

Both bats will have flex and cut down on vibration because of the two-piece construction but the Easton S1 will be higher performing because of the composite barrel.
How well does the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR handle cold weather?
Generally, we do not recommended using a bat like the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) in temperatures below 60 degrees. Lower temperatures will decrease the bats performance and increase the potential of cracking.

Is there any advantage to buying an Easton S1 or XL1 compared to the Mako other than price?
The Easton XL1 is end loaded which will make it a better choice for a power hitter. However, for a contact hitter the MAKO would be the best choice because it will have the lightest swing weight with an extended sweet spot.
My son likes a stiff bat like the 2012 Easton S1. He does not like a bat with much flex. With that in mind, how does the 2014 S1 compare and what other bat would you recommend?
The SIC Black Carbon composite in the handle of the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB14S1 Adult actually provides a stiffer flex than the IMX Composite in the handle of the 2012 S1. If your son likes the balance of the S1, and is looking for a bat with a stiff flex, the 2014 model is a great choice. If he truly likes a stiff flex, a one-piece bat (ie Easton S3) would be a great choice.

For a player your size, I'd recommend staying with the 33" model of the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB14S1 Adult.

For the specific differences between the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB14S1 Adult and other S Series bats, check out this JustBats Blog Article: http://goo.gl/gpTE8A. The S1 is the highest quality model of the four because of its two-piece composite design. All four models have balanced swing weights for maximum bat speed.
Which bat is better for me: the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR, the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR, or the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR? I'm 6'2" and I weigh about 165 lbs. I'm 15 years old. I've always been the liner and gap-to-gap kind of hitter. I have a very quick bat speed.
