Questions and Answers for 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB14S3
What is the difference between the S3 and S4?
The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S3) has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter and the S4 has a 2 1/2" barrel diameter.
My final question is between this and the 2014 Easton S500 BBCOR -3. Which is the better bat with more pop?
The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S3) uses a higher quality THT100 Scandium alloy. The higher quality alloy provides the bat with a higher performance and durability for the S3.
I'm 30 and my trusty Easton Redline C500 BBCOR just broke. I'm wondering how comparable this bat is to the one I had (I understand things have changed in the 15 years I've had my Redline).
This 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S3) will be a pretty good replacement for the Redline. Both are balanced, one-piece alloy designs. But the C500 would have been regulated by the BESR performance regulation (if I'm thinking of the correct model) which is much less restrictive than the new BBCOR regulation. The difference in performance will be quite noticeable. But the structure and quality of this S3 would be comparable.
Does the 2014 Easton S2 or the 2014 Easton S3 have a bigger barrel and better pop?
The 2014 Easton S2 and S3 will have the same THT100 alloy in the barrel. Both will feature the same barrel length since they both are apart of Easton's "Speed Line."
Do you have to break this bat in?
No. The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) is an alloy barrel bat that will not require a break-in period. Only composite barrel bats need to be broken in.
Would you recommend this or the RIP-IT Air (B1403A) for a 5'10" 150 lbs. contact hitter?
I would recommend the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) for a contact hitter.
Is this bat is end loaded and how much more distance will the ball have against an easton hammer?
The 2014 Easton S3 (BB14S3) will be balanced not end loaded. The distance the ball travels is dependent upon on the skill and strength of the hitter.
I am in a bit of a slump right now and am thinking about buying this bat. Would it help me out of my slump?
The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) is a great design and has a lot of performance potential. The lightweight balanced design is great for getting a bit more bat speed so it could help you with your timing potentially.
im 6'3 180 i have tried the xl but i cant hit with it. i want more power so what should i get the s3 or s4
The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: (BB14S3) would be an excellent choice to look at it if you are looking for more power. It will be a one-piece alloy design and will be extremely balanced. The even weight distribution and alloy materials will make this model perfect for power players.
What is the difference between the S3 BBCOR and S4 BBCOR?
The difference between the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) and the 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR (BB14S4) is the barrel diameter. The S3 features the standard 2 5/8 inch barrel and the S4 has a 2 1/2 inch barrel. This can help increase bat speed by cutting down on mass and gives it more of a wood bat feel in an alloy design.
I am about to go to BBCOR bats. I am 5'2" 105 pounds. Which bat would you recommend Exogrid 3, DeMarini CF5, or Easton S3?
All three bats are very balanced bats. They are great for a player making the transition to a BBCOR bat. The S3 is a one-piece design and will be the stiffest of the three bats. The DeMarini CF5 will have the most flex and best for a contact hitter.
I have the S3 BBCOR 2012 model. If the end cap falls off would it still have pop? Or will it lose its pop when I put it back on?
If the end cap of the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3 Adult) bat comes off the performance would suffer greatly. This would be the same in any previous year models as well.

My son is 4'10" and 75lbs., is this the best bat for him?
You can't go wrong with this bat I would suggest it in a 30" 27 oz.. Another Easton bat I would suggest is the Easton S4 (BB14S4 Adult). Easton S4 comes in a smaller barrel size in a 2 1/4" compared to a 2 5/8 barrel size in the Easton S3 (BB14S3 Adult). With that comes a little bit quicker bat speed. In the Easton S4 (BB14S4 Adult) I would suggest a 29" 26 oz..
Would you recommend this bat or the Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR?
Both the Easton 2014 S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) and the 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR (BBAS14-RR) Adult are one-piece balanced bats and be similar in performance.
Should I get this bat, the VELO, or the RIP-IT? Which one has the most pop but is also very balanced? I bat third in the line up for a 14U majors team. We will be attending many showcase tournaments and I need a bat that will help me perform at my best. If there are other bats you think would be good for me please tell me. I'm looking for an aluminum bat with lots of pop and great balance. I'm 14 years old, 5'11" and 209 lbs. I bat 3rd or 4th in the line up. I am also a line drive hitter but can occasionally hit home runs.
The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3 Adult) along with the RIP-IT BBCOR and Rawlings VELO will all feature one-piece fully alloy designs. They will all be very balanced and swing easily. I have heard great comments about all three from our customers. I would feel confident recommending any of the three for you at your size and hitting style.
My 15 year old is about 5'6" and about 125lbs. He is very strong, would he be able to swing the 33-30?
We would recommend a 32" in the 2014 Easton S3 (BB14S3) for a player with his height and weight.
My 13 yr old son is 5'11" and 128 lbs. according to all of the charts he should be swinging a 33 in bat. Is there a good rule of thumb that allows for an exceptionally tall young player that can't yet generate the needed bat speed for the size bat that would usually be recommended.....or is it just trial and error?
It is generally going to be a trial and error process when figuring out what exact size fits comfortably for the player. The general recommendation is what most average players a certain height and weight use. However, there will always be exceptions.
How does the barrel diameter on the S3 compare to the barrel on the S4? I am a smaller kid going into high school, and I was wondering if I should get the S3 or the S4 because the S4 has a smaller barrel which could give me more bat speed. But I am concerned that my contact will suffer if I don't get the S3 because of the barrel size.
The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) Adult bat features a 2 5/8" barrel diameter while the S4 offers the slightly smaller 2 1/2" barrel diameter. The S4 is specifically designed for smaller players who are looking for a slightly more balanced bat. The S4 should allow you to reach slightly higher swing speeds than the S3, but the S3 is a very light swinging bat as well. You would be sacrificing 1/8" in diameter in hitting surface with the S4, but it's hard to say which you would feel more comfortable using until you were able to feel the swing weight of each yourself.
What is difference between S3 and XL1 besides the construction of the bat? Are they both designed for power hitters?
The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) is balanced and better designed for a contact hitter. The XL1 is end loaded and would be best suited for a power hitter.
I'm a sophmore in high school and I'm 6' 155 lbs. I hit for contact, gappers mostly. What bat would you recommend out of the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) Adult and Easton S4 BBCOR (BB14S4) Adult?
Both are great bats. The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) Adult has a larger 2 5/8" barrel, whereas the Easton S4 BBCOR (BB14S4) Adult has a smaller 2 1/2" barrel.

What is the difference between the S3 BBCOR and the Louisville Slugger Omaha BBCOR?
The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR (BB14S3) and the Omaha will be extremely comparable. Both are one-piece alloy and balanced.
Is this bat or the S2 a better bat?
It really depends on the design that you prefer as to which is better. Both bats are very balanced, but the 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3 Adult is a one-piece alloy while the S2 is a two-piece hybrid (alloy barrel with a composite handle). The two-piece design helps create some additional trampoline effect for players with average swing speeds, but the one-piece design transfers energy to the ball more efficiently. To help with the decision, I would reflect on the bats you have used in the past with the most success.
I am a 5' 11" middle of the lineup hitter. What bat would you recommend for me to use?
The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3 Adult is better suited for contact hitters with its balanced swing weight. We recommend a 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult for power hitters.
I'm 15, 5'8 and 130 pounds, I am a line drive hitter and want a good balanced bat that suits me. Which bat in the Speed series do you recommend I get?
The 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR: BB14S1 Adult and the 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB14S2 Adult are going to be better for contact hitters, because of the two-piece design. It will come down to preference in a composite barrel for the S1 or the alloy barrel for the S2.
I was wondering if I should get this bat? I am a contact hitter and I was thinking about getting this or the Easton S2. I am 14, 4"11 and 100lbs.
The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3 Adult will be a one-piece all alloy bat whereas the 2014 Easton S2 BBCOR: BB14S2 Adult is a two-piece hybrid design. The S2 and its two-piece design is better suited for contact hitters, while the S3 is better suited for power hitters.

I'm 14 years old, and 5' 10", and 160 pounds, I have power, should I get the S3? If so, what length should I get?
The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3 Adult is a great bat. You should get it in a 33".
What is the difference between the 2014 Easton S3 and the 2014 Easton S4?
The 2014 Easton S3 BBCOR: BB14S3 Adult has a 2 5/8" barrel and the 2014 Easton S4 has a 2 1/2" barrel. That will be the only difference.
Is it better then the S1?
Both are good bats. The Easton S1 will be higher performing than the Easton S3 because it is a two-piece composite bat, whereas the Easton S3 is a one-piece alloy.
My 13 year old son is 5'5", 105 pounds and will enter a U14 league in the spring that requires BBCOR. What Easton bat would you recommend in terms of model and size? He has never been a big power hitter.
The 2014 Easton speed models line features several very balanced, high performing models. I would recommend the Easton S1, S2, or S3. According to his size, he would be well suited for a 31" or 32" model.
