Questions and Answers for 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1

A few of my son's friends continue to use this bat in games. We paid $400 for this and wonder if by others using this bat it affects it performance? I don't like it since we paid for it and they get to use for nothing. I just do not want this bat and my son to suffer from others using it. Please let me know what the result may be from others using this bat in every game. Thanks, a Baseball Mom.

Using the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) for team use should only help the composite materials break-in. The more the bat is broken in the better the performance will be for your son and his teammates. Rest assured ma'am, and tell those boys to keep up the good work!

I just bought a XL1 white for my son for JV baseball next spring. Is there a difference in pop with it and the 2014 model?

The only differences between the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) and the XL1 white model are cosmetic. They will feature the same IMX composite barrel, so they will be very similar with regard to pop.

My son is a 6'2" 250 lb junior. He really likes the feel of the S1. He has decent bat speed, and I'm wondering if the XL1 is a better bat for his size and strength. Looking at a 34" 31 oz. size.

The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) is designed for a power hitter. If he has quick bat speed it is a great choice.

I am a freshmen that is 5'8" and 150 lbs. I stay in the weight room so I know I could get the bat around. I am looking for a little more power so I can get the ball over the fence. Is this bat good for me?

The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) Adult has an end loaded swing weight and is a great for power hitters. The end loaded swing weight combined with your quick bat speed will help generate more power.

I am 5'11" and I already have a powerful swing. Should I get the XL1, or would someone like me get the Easton Mako? Also which could give more power to my swing?

If your looking more for power I would recommend the 2014 Easton XL1 (BB14X1). The reason why is that it has an end-loaded feel compared to the Easton Mako (BB14MK) which would be balanced.

I swing a 2011 XL1. What is the difference between the 2011 white bat and 2014 yellow bat?

The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) uses new composite material in the handle of the bat. This increases durability.

Kara Expert ·Mar 28, 2014

86567

What BBCOR bat is best for me? I'm 5'8 and weigh 130 pounds.

Our charts would recommend a 31" 28 oz. for a player with your build.

My son has the older model of the XL1 BBCOR: BB11X1. Are there any changes or technology advances with the BB14X1, or is it still same bat?

This 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) Adult bat and the BB11X1 both feature extended barrels made from the IMX Composite material, but the composite in the handle has been improved between models. The SIC Black Carbon Composite material in the BB14X1 provides a stiffer flex that transfers energy more efficiently to the ball on contact.

Which bat is better the Easton XL1 or the Louisville Slugger Attack?

The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) is a more end-loaded bat. This bat is more for power hitters. While the 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR (BBAT14-RR) bat is a more balanced bat for contact hitters. Depending on how you hit, one of these bats would be a great fit.

When will there be a 32" 29 oz. in stock for the 2014 Easton XL3?

We are expecting to get additional 2014 Easton XL3 (BB14X3) in stock. For bats we expect a 2 to 4 weeks for shipment to arrive.

85363

What bat compares to the feel of the XL1?

Given the two-piece, fully composite design of the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) and it's end-loaded feel, it is somewhat unique within the BBCOR certified bat category. A few hybrid designs would feel similar as far as swing weight goes but will have a different material makeup. The 2014 Rawlings TRIO End-Load BBCOR (BBTRI3) Adult and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) Adult will both feature a similar end-loaded feel.

Patrick Expert ·Mar 11, 2014

Patrick Expert ·Mar 11, 2014

I am 5 foot 8 and weigh 145 pounds. What bat would be better, the XL1 or the S1?

The answer to that would depend on your preference. If you prefer a more end-loaded feel for a bat, the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) would be the better option. If you like a more balanced feel, the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) would be the bat to go with. Generally, the end-loaded feel is preferred by power hitters.

Patrick Expert ·Mar 09, 2014

85230

I have the 2013 S1 (BB13S1) and have noticed that I have a very fast bat speed. Would this be a bretter upgrade with more pop?

The XL1 (BB14X1) will have a little more pop since it is an end loaded design. Another option would be the Easton Mako (BB14MK). The Mako is a blend between the Easton "S" series and the Easton "XL" series. Both options will give you a little more pop for what you are looking for.

Which one do you think is better, 2014 Easton xl1 BBCOR or 2014 Voodoo overlord? I'm a power hitter, and I like to drive the ball.

Unfortunately, one is not proven to be better than the other. The XL1 and Overlord both have slightly end loaded swing weights with a two-piece design. The XL1 may provide a slightly longer useful life with the composite barrel, but both are great options for a power hitter.

Mac Expert ·Mar 08, 2014

I am 13 years old. I am about 5 foot 3 and 105 pounds. I currently swing a -5 Easton XL3. I still pull alot of balls. Do you think this would be a good bat for me in the future?

The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) is a great option for a BBCOR bat. Given your age, it seems like you will be making that transition soon. It is good that you have adjusted to a drop 5 size first. The XL1 will be different than your XL3. The XL1 is a two piece fully composite design which will offer a bit more flex than your XL3. Also, the composite barrel will have a different sound and feel than the alloy barrel XL1.

I have the white XL1 and am just wondering how do you know when you need to replace your bat. I have used this one pretty much non stop for about 1 1/2 years.

The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult would be a great bat to replace your previous model. I would make the switch when you feel a decline in the bat's performance. Be sure and check the barrel for cracks or dents also.

Will the CF5 LE and the 2014 XL1 last the same amount of time, or is one more durable than the other?

Unfortunately, it is impossible to correctly estimate the life of any bat. However, the composite barrels of both the CF5 LE and 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR: BB14X1 Adult give you the best shot at lasting performance. After the bat is broken-in, it will perform at a high level for a longer period of time than alloy.
